The wait is VERY long and I suggest you put your name down and go shopping before you eat. That said Rennard,friend slow it down just a little when explaining the menu, especially for first-timers. We're trying to absorb all the goodness! Huge shoutout to Lewis though! He truly made our first visit memorable. He walked us through everything clearly, patiently, and with care. We ordered a handful of items off the Gold Tier menu which is the more reccomended option, including the A5 Wagyu(super good),Typically my go to Wagyu Short Rib(very tasty), and brisket (chef's kiss) and the must-have Wagyu nigiri and whew. Mind. Blown. Absolutely decadent and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. And the Samurai Milk Tea?? Why did I only get one? Rookie mistake. It was so good it's basically my excuse to go back ASAP. It didn't stop there the corn was out of this world, and the egg tart?? Oh my gosh. The sides just kept getting better and better. I left happy and very satisfied. He is so friendly and courteous, he made our experience a smooth and great one. The wagyu meats did melt in our mouth and we kept the nigiri orders coming! Did I forget to post a review? My partner and I were back for the fourth(?) time tonight, and it was reliably good! The photos are from a previous visit, so items might be different now... I was too hungry to think about updating pictures during today's visit. We go for the gold menu when we bring someone for the first time (to really enjoy a bit of the nicer cuts), but when we're just there to enjoy some grilled meat by ourselves, we're happy with the silver. Today, we got the gold and had the A5 short rib and the A5 top blade for the special meats. The short rib was probably what we enjoyed more today, but the top blade was solid, too. The top blade was seasoned with a soy(?)-based sauce, and it looks like it has a bit of grated daikon on top. It's cut thin, and our server, Lewis, was kind enough to cook it for us - it gets cooked on one side, then gets rolled up and cut into four pieces. It finishes cooking with residual heat. The short rib just has the nicely marbled meat shine on its own (smaller, thicker cut pieces - not super thick though). Both were good, but just depends on what you prefer. Our party also got the scallop and unagi. I don't eat much seafood, but my partner enjoyed both. He got the scallop twice! It had some minced garlic and a little pat of butter on each scallop. He ended up asking for some unagi sauce (thanks, Lewis!), and that made the grilled unagi perfect for him. We always get a number of different ayce items, but we can hardly keep track of which is which. We usually make sure to get the A5 brisket and short rib, but otherwise, it just depends on what we (and our party) feel like trying. It's always nice to be able to grab rice, miso soup, kimchi (particularly solid today), seaweed salad, corn cheese, vegetables, fruit, swiss rolls, milk tea, etc. from the self-serve area. We noticed the salad is now here, too, rather than being an item to order. Despite how busy it seemed, our server Lewis did a great job of giving an intro for our first-time guest (my mom!), checking on us, helping us grill the special meats (so we didn't overcook those ones!), and applying our membership and NFT discounts correctly. (Actually, I think he was our server during our first visit, too, and he was just as energetic and eager to help today as he was then!) First off this restaurant is located in the first floor (yes I got lost and went to all 3 floors). They were so accommodating for us coming in at 1:55 for lunch and they close at 3 for dinner turn over. They were very helpful showing all the included stations from drinks, desserts, sauces, veg, and soup/rice. The iPad for ordering was a bit glitchy but our waiter was always on it for slapping it around to get it to work (kidding!) Food quality was great and very tasty! Went in on a Thursday night with a reservation for 4. Let me first acknowledge that our server Cid was very helpful, super nice, friendly and attentive. Because of him, I gave a 20% tip out of the 4 diamond meals we had. That's over $434.55 for 4 people. Now for the food - the Wagyu selection is not really AYCE. you only get 2 Wagyu premium meats per person. The photo attached is the Wagyu for 4 people - max order. The rest of regular cuts are AYCE. In addition, you can only order 10 items every 7 minutes. The buffet bar is for the sauces and sides, corn, rice, and dumplings. There's a soft serve ice cream, and self serve soda machine. They DO NOT serve alcohol here. Not even a beer to go with the meats. They do not allow a bottle of wine either because they don't have a liquor license. For the ambience - it was super loud. The busboys were throwing dirty plates at every corner where they have the dirty carts. It was like having broken loud dishes sound the entire night. I had better expectations in terms of cleanliness as well. The floors were sticky. The 90% + of the crowd were young college kids age group. I'm so excited that they opened up a Chubby Cattle in my neck of the woods. It's such a great high end AYCE wagyu beef KBBQ spot. It's definitely a treat meal, but one worth the price. I also want to say the only other location I've been to is the Little Tokyo location and this one blows it outta the water. It offers way more items for sides/drinks, the space is much larger, and the theming just feels more thought out. I'm so glad I don't need to go to downtown anymore. Especially knowing how different the experience would be. I'm not sure if it's because it's relatively new, but when we went, they weren't allowing reservations so I got in line about 10 minutes prior to opening. There were 2 parties in front of me & by the time they opened, there were easily 10 parties in line overall. I hope they open this place to reservations in the future (if they haven't already). Once we were seated in the back corner (felt odd, but whatever), Kent treated us perfectly. I have no complains. Even after letting him know I had been to a different Chubby Cattle location but my wife & I had plenty of KBBQ experience, he still often came by & offered to cook everything for us. I won't complain there. The restaurant itself is somewhat dark. I appreciated it because it did somewhat feel like it was a more intimate dining experience. I also appreciated that they didn't have the traditional grill exhausts over the table which often blocks the view of the people across the way. And the touch screen ordering system was intuitive and helpful to let us order at our convenience. The meats themselves are all so tender and juicy. But they're so fatty so don't go in expecting to eat as much meat as you would at a more traditional KBBQ joint. But that's not a complaint. I just wish I had more room to enjoy all of the offerings they have at their sides area. Everything looked so good. I will, however, say the wagyu burger just tastes like a McDonald's burger. I'd skip it. Everything else? Fantastic. Chubby Cattle really is something that should be experienced. Especially if you are a KBBQ fan. Is It worth the membership that I signed up for to get the free Japanese Waygu item? I'm honestly not sure. We came here around 1pm and were seated immediately, which was a great start. The service was relatively quick and friendly overall, though you can tell this is a newer location and the staff are still working through some learning curves. That said, there weren't any major service issues worth complaining about. Unfortunately, the food was where this location fell short. I'm not sure if it's Wagyu fatigue or an actual difference in quality, but the food here simply didn't live up to the Chubby Cattle Little Tokyo location that we usually frequent. A prime example was the cheese corn -- it was old and dry, likely from being stored under a heater. At the Little Tokyo location, the cheese corn is made fresh upon request and cooked directly on the grill, which makes a noticeable difference in both texture and flavor. Another concerning moment was on our way out, when we saw a large amount of salmon piled on top of each other on a tray sitting out at the counter. I'm not sure how this aligns with food safety standards, but it was definitely unsettling. After eating the salmon sashimi, one member of our party did experience an upset stomach later that day, which only added to the concern. Overall, this location left much to be desired. While the service was decent and the seating was fast, the food quality and handling did not match expectations. For now, I would honestly stick to the Little Tokyo location. read more

It was uncomfortable sitting on the inside of the booth since there's a weird blockage that completely made me feel stuck. We compared the sets and decided on the diamond set. The meat was good quality but I wasn't fond of the sushi, it was pasty tasting and cut way too thick but there is a lot of wagu selections which is nice and the kimchi tasted really fresh which is important to me. The meat quaity here is amazing, I was a little hesitant when my friend suggested this place because of the price but it was well worth it. They have a 3 tier AYCE menu, the difference between silver and gold is you get 1 order of a few of the top choice meats in the gold tier, diamond i believe comes with 2 orders of the top cuts. The service was fantastic, being our first time here we got a clear explanation of the tier prices and choices, and how to order. We liked everything we order, with this being our first visit i couldn't remember everything we tried, but pretty much every type of brisket and short rib they had on the menu were exceptional, they also have sushi and carpaccio. The Australian brisket cut and yellow tail carpaaccio were my favorites on the menu. According to our service they take reservations through Yelp, but either the recent dates were full/not avilable or it's not fully set up since we were able to pick a time. The resturant is on the first floor of the topanga mall near the target next to the garage parking lot. We showed up right around 5 when they reopened for dinner to put our name on the list. The line to get on the list was pretty long, i think we waited about 15 minutes to get added to the list, then about 10 minutes later we got the text to come over and be seated, once we got inside it was maybe 10 more minutes waiting near the host area before we actually got seated. Don't bring a stroller it won't fit (they will take it from you at the front) but luckily we had the car seat and it could fit on the chair. The desserts weren't great. The Pepsi tasted weird. Been to the Little Tokyo location and was excited to try this new location, which was honestly such a huge disappointment. The number one was mainly the quality of meat that so far below the quality the other location had. The price was definitely not worth coming here. We came on a monday night at 6pm and wait for over two hours, by the time it was our turn we were rushed to put in our last call orders. It felt very crowded and stuffy in there as well, which made the experience even less enjoyable. The positive part is the service, the servers were able to manage the crowd well and clear dishes so fast. Though there is a lot of action going on they took the time to explain the menu. We can put in the orders in the tablet, which made it convenient to put in more orders. The quality of the fish for sushi,nigiri,carpaccio were good. I don't understand how there are so many positive reviews but this visit might have been a bad night. I'm also not sure if the other reviews are legitimate.
