Refer to pictures ~ We came here to celebrate my daughter's birthday for the first time, and had an absolutely time with their diamond tier menu. * The servers were very helpful and detailed on explaining the menu. (Ask if you don't know) * large plethora of food stemming from beef, pork, chicken and seafood -- they taste great (all self serve). * their Wagyu is definitely worth the try! * they have a membership that helps with % down if you come here frequently (you get a free meal during your bday) Cons - * there were menus unavailable that we wanted to try. * they can sound naggy when asking for reviews Solid 4.5/5

It was delicious. Our server Jaime is awesome. Very attentive, make sure we're well taken care of. Give us our last warning and helping us cancel our orders cause our eyes are bigger than our stomach when we came. Nice ambiance and clean self serve station. Very good selection of meat for the gold tier. Come hungry leaving stuffed like a turkey on thanksgiving day.

Stopped here tonight with the family. It was my first time here and I must say this place was amazing. My compadre was the one who showed me this place and we decided to finally try it tonight. The food: 1000/1000 we went with the gold option and it was amazing. So many wonderful cuts of Waygu beef and the recommendations from our server were great: we also had the sides and I must say the Waygu burger was so good, I can see why it would run out really fast. The deserts were so good and lots of amazing options. I enjoyed the unlimited beverages as well. Service: top notch service, our server was Tyler and he went above and beyond for our party. He made sure our experience was an excellent one. He was kind, courteous and you can tell he takes pride in his work. The inside was very nice and clean, this used to be another restaurant back in the days so it was nice to come back to my old stepping grounds. Drove over 60 miles to come here and I will definitely be coming back. Thank you Tyler for the hospitality.

I had a very disappointing experience at this all-you-can-eat Japanese BBQ restaurant. Before we were seated, we politely asked the front desk if our party could be split into two tables. Despite the restaurant having the availability, they refused and insisted on seating all of us at one table. The hostess also had a very rude attitude from the moment we arrived, which immediately made us feel unwelcome. As the meal went on, many of the food items were running out. We asked multiple times for refills, but they were never replenished, which is unacceptable for an all-you-can-eat restaurant. To make matters worse, when the bill came, they automatically added gratuity for our large party. We asked to speak with the manager because of the poor service throughout the evening, hoping they would at least acknowledge our concerns. Instead, the manager was just as dismissive and rude as the front desk staff and made no effort to resolve the situation or make things right. Overall, the customer service was terrible from start to finish, the food service did not live up to the "all-you-can-eat" experience, and management showed no interest in customer satisfaction. I would not recommend this restaurant and will not be returning.

Chubby Cattle is a place of variety, indulgence and quality, a good treat. You can eat self prepared BBQ meats and refreshing sushi options at the same time. Obviously the quality is great, they have many premium options including waygu beef all you can eat. The service was good from our host, positive attitude and welcoming, until he started to mention their membership and if we wanted to join five times after saying no. Earlier we called to get information before arriving and they can't even have a staff member answer the call, an AI bot was struggling to assist and answer our questions. Everything is ordered on a tablet. The amount of self service at this restaurant is nauseating, considering the price to dine in. You can order every 7 minutes until time is up. Ambiance is active and the upbeat music playlist is about at a medium volume. The experience is streamlined to get you in and out, I was not a fan of the constant badgering to join their membership, especially at checkout. There is an egregious amount of self service that could be handled by staff, for the price range, having everyone run around each other to grab drinks and grab items from the cold bar and other self service areas is strange. Located on the first floor by Target at the Topanga mall, parking in the structure.

I got the gold tier, it was a nice option to try the "tasting experience" as it was our first time, but honestly could have done without it. This place is more on the pricier side, but for the silver tier, it's a solid opt. There were a few items on the menu that we tried that we did not like at all, it had to be taken away lol but there were a lot of items we did enjoy! Our server nick was knowledgeable and friendly. This is a type of restaurant where you order through the tablet and the food comes to your table, the server does come around often to check in on you and to change the grills. Jasper was also really good at taking away any of our empty/ dirty dishes every time he dropped off food. When I first arrived, I was trying to get the host attention so that I could get checked in but she is not welcoming and bit rude. She is constantly looking down at her tablet then walking away. Then just calls whoever is next on the tablet, not acknowledging anyone new coming in! Me and another guest were so confused we had to flag her down to get checked in which is so odd. I've never been to a restaurant where a host made us feel like we are an inconvenience to her!! Anyway,after we did check in, we had to wait another 20 mins or so for our table to be ready. Lowkey being added to the wait yourself vs reservation seems like the same wait time which defeats the purpose of a reservation.

As a huge fan of Chubby Cattle, I am incredibly disappointed to say that this specific location has been a miss ever since it opened. I've given it three chances now, and each visit has been a poor experience. After my most recent visit, I felt compelled to finally write a review. We ordered the highest tier (Diamond), expecting a premium experience, but our server, Kai, was completely rude and unprofessional. Throughout the night, he barely checked on us or cleared our plates. Instead, he repeatedly approached our table just to scold us about having only 30 minutes left. When last call approached, we placed a larger order to wrap up our meal. Kai came over and lectured us about the size of the order, warning us that we would have to pay for leftovers even though we ended up finishing absolutely everything. When we tried to put in one final item before the system even shut down, he arbitrarily told us he was canceling it because we "couldn't order anymore." It is incredibly frustrating to be paying customers spending over $600, only to be spoken to so disrespectfully about ordering food during valid service hours. To top it off, after dropping off the check and taking our payment, we went to get dessert. Kai approached us yet again and told us we needed to leave, essentially kicking us out of the restaurant. We've been to so many Chubby concepts and never have once been treated like this.

We've been here a total of two times and each time has been amazing! We had Nick and Kai serving us and they've been amazing. Always checking in on us, making sure we get the best service, and just vibed with them. They're so easy to chat up. It's more expensive than your AYCE experience but it's really worth it especially for special occasions. It's a sit down upscale JBBQ spot and while I love their meats, I think about their lobster roll, Wagyu slider, and carpaccio the most alongside their unlimited milk tea and egg tarts. Next time we come, we hope we get to run into Nick and Kai again! They both work really hard and the quality of their service definitely shows.

We were here a couple months ago, and tonight we are back to celebrate my hubby's birthday...and yes, I'm happy happy to say service is 100% on point, super nice and helpful. I also learned tonight, just in case if you were wondering...On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays it is only Walk-In no reservations...wait time varies, but Mon thru Thursday you can make reservations and also do walk-in's. We still love the choices from the digital menu, and totally enjoyed the birthday jingle surprise!! OH! I love love their Earl Grey roll cake!! I had 2 slices!! (Gasp)! It's totally fun inside! I love the interior designs.

Delicious food and stellar service! Absolutely worth the wait and the price. This was my first time dining at Chubby Cattle, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. There's a variety of meat to choose from, from rich and savory wagyu to thinner briskets. All meat is very high quality cuts, taste amazing even without sauce. The sushi was just OK to me. Some of the rice was undercooked and so randomly crunchy in some parts, and the taste of the fish was just acceptable. The hand rolls were pretty good, though. Love the assortment of sides and appetizers to choose from, and the self service drinks, salads, desserts, and sides. There's even dim sum! And the slushies are so good. I actually didn't like the milk tea much, too creamy and sweet for me, but YMMV. There's just so much to eat and drink here, and the portions are just right. Loved the ambiance and the service. The only drawback was the wait time (quite long on a weekend for lunch) and the fact that it got super smoky in the area we sat. Even the restrooms were noticeably smoky. However, our table and others in the area were moved to a section with significantly better ventilation. It seems like ventilation could be a recurring issue here, but they also seem to be aware of it and can shift your table somewhere better if it gets too smoky. Overall, highly recommend this place!

This was our first time at Chubby Cattle and we had such a great experience from start to finish. We tried the Silver tier since it was our first visit. The Diamond tier definitely looked tempting, but we're honestly really glad we stuck with Silver. It felt like plenty of variety and value without being overwhelming or feeling overpriced for a first visit. The food was excellent across the board. Our server Anthony recommended the Wagyu steak and the rib finger meat, and both were highlights of the night. Everything we ordered was solid though, even the sushi, which was surprisingly fun to mix in with the BBQ. The variety of options really makes the experience enjoyable. Service is where this place truly stood out. Anthony was amazing. He was genuinely happy to have us there and seemed like he actually enjoyed his job, which instantly made us feel comfortable. He took the time to explain the entire concept and menu even though it's a lot of information and I'm sure he was busy. He was incredibly knowledgeable, attentive throughout the night, and never once seemed bothered by any request. Truly top-tier service. The ambiance was fun and lively. A little loud in a good way, the kind of place you'd go for a fun date night or with friends. The self-serve stations and especially the table-side ordering system made everything super smooth and efficient. Being able to order directly from the screen at the table without waiting added a lot to the experience and kept things moving seamlessly. Overall, this was such a fun and memorable dinner. We'll definitely be back, probably for my birthday or with a group of friends. Huge shoutout to Anthony for making our first visit such a great one. read more

Definitely come towards the weekday. Attempted to come during the weekend and gave up due to having an infant. But Rhenar was such an amazing server! My baby loved him and kept smiling. Food was also really good, didn't need any extra sauces but were available if needed. He did not need to whatsoever but Chaeho (owner) was super friendly and saw me holding my baby and without being asked cooked my first round of meat. Definitely made me feel welcomed. Amazing and Unique Experience! I came to Chubby Cattle not sure of what to expect and I was left blown away by how amazing all the meats were and the service was. Arshia was our server and he is the reason I am giving this place a 5 star review! He thoroughly explained how everything works and taught us how to grill our meats properly. He was super kind, helpful and quite strong too I'll add ;). I was on the fence about signing up for the membership but after Arshia shared all the benefits I would be getting it was a no brainer. Came here for the first time with my partner a few days ago. We had high hopes since we saw that a lot of people would be waiting outside to be seated and the reviews seemed promising. In all honesty, the food was mediocre at best. This place was expensive and didn't meet our expectations whatsoever. The only thing that I personally thought was nice were the booth seating areas. I liked the design on them, but the lights were very bright and it genuinely hurt my eyes to look directly at my partner who was on the opposite side of the table. I had to keep looking at the wall or down at the table to relieve the discomfort. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. read more

Just dined here tonight with the lovely Alyssa as our server, she was attentive and super kind and helped cook all of our meats to order. My friend even got a membership due to how amazing the food was and the service even better, i'd literally just come dine here JUST to be served by Alyssa. I came here with a couple of friends, and we were genuinely impressed from start to finish. The atmosphere was cozy and lively, and everything felt clean and well put together. Our server Niomi was the highlight of the night. She was super attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience feel even more enjoyable. She checked in on us at all the right times and had such a positive, funny energy that really made the meal memorable. As seniors, this was upsetting and felt like an attempt to take advantage of us. The sudden reversal, the refusal to honor their own employee's guidance, and the dismissive attitude were unacceptable. We immediately left without ordering. We will not return, and we will be informing our senior center and community. Seniors deserve honesty and respect, not deceptive practices.

I just picked at the crawfish and left the rest. As for the boys meal, the fried chicken adobo bowl was REALLY good! I ended up eating theirs because my oldest son didn't like it, which was great for me lol. My youngest and I tore that bowl up. Anyway, the verdict is, I may search around for other options but I know that if I can't find anything else I can always grab a chicken adobo bowl but the service was pretty nonexistent. I also mentioned we drove from Simi Valley to come here and there were many other restaurant options but I told him how the waitress treated me and he said he would talk to her. I told him I would pay for the coffee and I would leave. He said don't worry about the coffee. I didn't even finish my coffee I set it down and left. The Chicken Parmesan, though, is where this meal really shined -- one of the best chicken parms in the city. Juicy on the inside, perfectly crispy on the outside, and smothered in a rich marinara with melted cheese. This dish alone is worth coming back for. The service was outstanding -- every single person we interacted with was knowledgeable, attentive, and a genuine pleasure to deal with. The environment is welcoming and well designed, and they seated our party of 6 with ease, no hassle at all. Prices are on the higher side, but you genuinely get what you pay for here -- the quality, portion sizes, and overall execution justify the cost. This was hands down the worst customer service experience ever. We were a group of 10 and politely asked from the very beginning to be seated at two separate tables of 5 with separate bills. They made us wait for nearly an hour, despite most of the restaurant being completely empty! When we asked why, they rudely claimed they didn't have enough staff to serve those empty tables.Eventually, they sat us at two tables pushed together. Our grills, our orders, and our bills were completely separate from start to finish. Yet, when the bill arrived, they split the total but sneakily added the Large Party Auto Gratuity to both individual checks!We paid for the Silver AYCE menu, but the buffet management was pathetic. To cut costs, they had locked and disabled several premium meat options on the ordering tablet so we couldn't even select them! Many other items like a specific shrimp dish, one type of kimchi, and one of the desserts were completely missing and never served. The sauce station was completely empty, and they only refilled it after we complained multiple times. As for the salad, they first claimed they ran out, then brought a tiny portion after we insisted, and for the rest of the night, the salad bar remained completely empty. To make it worse, the staff started packing up and clearing away the remaining food stations long before we were even done eating.This brings up the biggest issue: If you are running out of almost everything and turning off items, why are you even accepting paying customers in the first place?! It is completely dishonest to charge full price for an AYCE experience when half the menu is unavailable.When we confronted the manager about this forced gratuity and terrible service, his attitude was shockingly arrogant. When we told him we would just cancel our memberships due to this treatment, he literally replied, "I don't care, go ahead and do it."Absolutely unacceptable. They only care about trapping you into paying a mandatory tip while providing zero service and restricting your food. Avoid this place at all costs! read more

I don't usually run to Yelp after a meal, but Chubby Cattle in Topanga deserves every word -- mostly because of Nicole, who completely made our night. The restaurant itself is beautiful -- brand new, spotless, and buzzing with that "freshly opened" energy. But if you get seated in Nicole's section? Your night is already off to a perfect start. This girl was handling multiple tables at once (seriously, it was packed) and never missed a beat. She's effortlessly funny and personable, but also knows exactly when to be professional. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does - she walked us through the menu like she's been running this place for years, gave spot-on recommendations (everything we tried was fire), and checked in at the perfect times -never hovering, never disappearing. I also noticed some tables were being encouraged to sign up for memberships, which can feel... a little pushy. Nicole, however, was completely the opposite - laid-back, nonchalant, and never made me feel like I had to get one. Honestly, her vibe made me think, "Yeah, maybe I should," without ever feeling pressured. Who wants to feel forced into a membership? Exactly. And here's the thing: good service is one thing, but good service with personality? That's magic. Nicole has that rare ability to make you feel genuinely cared for, like you're being hosted by someone who actually enjoys your company. As for the food - the AYCE Wagyu was incredible, of course, but Nicole's service honestly made it next-level. She turned a delicious meal into a full experience. By the end, it felt like we'd been coming here for years. If management reads this: seriously, don't sleep on Nicole. She's the kind of server who should be promoted yesterday -- a natural leader, fast, smart, personable. Hang onto her, invest in her, give her the recognition she deserves. I recently visited Chubby Cattle at the mall, and it's clear why it's so popular--there's always a line before it even opens! The wait time can be quite long, especially if you don't arrive early. On my first visit on December 6th, 2025, we waited around two hours. The host, who wears glasses, warned us that we might not make it in before they closed because it was so busy. Luckily, we managed to get a table just ten minutes before they stopped seating, which didn't give us much time, but thankfully, our server was fantastic. They made sure our meal went smoothly despite the time crunch. One issue I faced was with the host's referral code. She suggested that using her code would get us in faster, so each person in my group signed up using her code. We ended up giving her around 2,000 points, which felt shady because she could've just asked us to create accounts instead of implying it was necessary for quicker seating. I noticed she did this with other families as well. On my second visit, things went more smoothly, and we had more time to enjoy the experience. The restaurant is quite large and kept very clean. I noticed that a lot of the meats are very fatty; I wish there were more marinated options since the ones they offer don't have much sauce. The ordering system is interesting but could be easier to read, as it's filled with cartoon pictures. The sides were tasty, though I would love to see more variety. One of the best parts of our visit was our server, Tyler. He was energetic, attentive, and extremely helpful, ensuring we had a great time. While Chubby Cattle is on the pricier side, it's worth a try for the bustling atmosphere and good food. Beware the wait time...I visited your restaurant with a party of six to celebrate two birthdays and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience. Our quoted wait extended to 3.5 hours, and while the front desk staff were initially pleasant, their attitude became increasingly dismissive as time passed. Despite being first on the Yelp waitlist, multiple smaller parties were seated ahead of us. Although I mentioned several times that we were willing to split the group if needed, no one proactively communicated options, and we continued waiting for a six-person table. In the end, we were seated at an undersized table where we were crowded and uncomfortable , and we ultimately had to split into two tables anyway. This lack of communication and care made the experience unnecessarily stressful, especially during a birthday celebration. However, our server, Nessie, completely turned the evening around. His professionalism, attentiveness, humor and genuinely warm demeanor made a significant difference. He checked on us consistently, anticipated our needs, and ensured that every part of the meal went smoothly despite the rocky start. His exceptional service brought comfort and positivity to what would have otherwise been a very frustrating night. Food was amazing and our server Kevin made the experience even better. My boyfriend and I were trying to find a place for a last minute anniversary dinner and knew we would only be eating for a short time due to arriving so late (we came close to last call) and Kevin helped us so much with the menu and making sure we were able to finish our time with our bellies full. He had really good recommendations as well, the strip loin has easily become my favorites dish on the whole menu (but it is not included in the all you can eat menu). For the food: Otoro and short rib from the special menu are easily my favorites from the specials. The meats are great and they have a solid choice of seafood options and sushi as well. I wasn't expecting the sushi to be as good as it was too, tasting good and is a solid options as well for me (I usually only get salmon so I'm not familiar with the other fish. I do want to note that a chunk of the options are wagyu and so can be really fatty. I personally love this but do want those who don't particularly like fatty meats to look over the menu and see if they have options you would prefer before coming! All in all, amazing service, and the self serve bar has a good selection between deserts, extra hot foods, cold foods, and some good drink such as the milk tea. Went in for our wedding anniversary dinner! Just wanted to highlight their amazing customer service. ( as a same sex couple we don't know what to expect interms of how "LGBTQ friendly" an establishment will be). With our experience we were delighted as first timers! The host Jennifer greeted us happily and wished us a Happy Wedding Anniversary! We felt welcomed and she took the time to answer and break down how CC's dining tiers worked. As for our Server Ferni did an amazing job cooking our specialty meats and making sure we had everything we needed. The high energy personality and accommodation made the experience even better. The dining is timed and you can order up to 10 items every 7 min but we never felt rushed and there's plenty of time to eat and enjoy. As for the food WOW we went with the gold tier for our family of 3. It's worth it. No frozen meat and all the self serve options are great! High quality meats, sushi and sides. Our faves included the wagyu steak, top blade, and our son loved the wagyu sliders! They offer specials for a membership and Ferni explained all the perks! I highly recommend on getting the membership and take advantage of any offers they have that month. We're excited to come back again! Where do I begin? We arrived at 6:30 pm and were told the wait would be a little over an hour long. That wasn't a problem, but when our table was ready, we had to wait over 30 minutes inside even though they said we were all set. Once seated, the waiter only came to our table once to greet himself. We watched him serve and help cook at the surrounding tables, but we were left unattended for the duration of our meal. Not only that, but we never got a grill change, and they didn't bring us three plates of meat that we ordered. On top of this, the quality of the meat was definitely not as advertised. It was chewy at best. I really wanted to love this place, but for the price, I expected much better service and food quality. The sushi was decent, but that's honestly about it. Even the desserts were inedible. The egg tarts were so overcooked that they were practically like scrambled eggs in a burnt pie crust. The hostess was rude when we reminded her our table was ready, the waiter was absent, and we didn't even get what we ordered. We left feedback to the shift lead, but there was no offer of compensation whatsoever; just a halfhearted apology. Save yourself the time and money and dine elsewhere. read more

Quality is great. But the service is genuinely awesome. The staff were friendly and professional. Cid (our server) made the dinner even better than our last. He explained everything to us and is such a sweet guy. He suggested everything we needed to help us get what we were looking for from the meal. So thank you, Cid, for the great experience! First off want to start by saying I had a huge group come in with me there was 10 of us. Our server was on it, great at explaining. He kinda looked like Bryce hall, he killed it but went overkill with the membership pitch. Im sure they want their servers to keep pushing for us to buy a membership however it's very sleezy. Felt like I was being pushed into buying a timeshare. He does end it by saying well it's your loss! Nice way to treat customers before leaving a fat tip! Stop pushing memberships, patrons come to eat not feel bad for not signing up for yet another money grab. Seafood Quality wasn't great, salmon and yellowtail were subpar. Beef was great. Front house hostess seem in experienced, they have rude demeanors and aren't very great at making you feel like you're being taken care of. We asked how long it would take and there wasn't even an explanation as to why it would take a certain amount of time. They need better training or just getter better staff. read more

Perhaps I'd give it another shot but during lunch. Parking is nice because it's a shared shopping center lot. Plenty of spots available.

He obviously ASSumed that people of a certain race don't tip...because he attended promptly to 4 other tables in his section, but steadfastly ignored me! I had to get the hostess to summon him for me each time I needed something. That's disheartening considering the fact that I routinely OVERTIP, just to try & dispell that stereotype. This place used to be PACKED, folks actually had to wait in line for an open table. But that was back when you actually got your money's worth. Unfortunately those days are longggg gone. $26 for all you can eat seafood garbage. I should've bought a box of frozen fish sticks & called it a day. At least I'd have gotten my money's worth! Avoid this place as though it were radioactive!!

The soybean soup was salty to the point we had to ask them to take it back. There was radish soup...which tasted exactly like radish in water...that wasn't salty so we had to mix the leek soup with the radish soup to make it less salty but overall...everything was salty. It's a kbbq place so as long as the meat is good I think we're good. Just be warned that aside from the meat, the food can be a bit salty.

The calamari was fried to perfection and was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and not greasy at all. We also ordered the seafood tower, which was outstanding. You can really tell they use high-quality ingredients. Our server, Nina, was exceptional. She was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. She checked on us throughout the meal, gave great recommendations, and made sure everything was perfect without being intrusive. Her warm personality really made our dining experience even better. The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was cozy, and the staff worked together so efficiently.
