Tried this place after hearing about it from a friend. Upon arrival, from the outside we weren't sure if it was open after we had just ubered there. After walking up to the door we realized that they were and it was just a slower night. We were greeted after standing there for a minute or two, and seated shortly after. Since it was our first time here, we were a little confused on the menu pricing (there's slashes for pricing of half vs full orders). We took a few minutes and decided to order a little bit of everything we wanted. Luckily our server informed us that they are having a BOGO special until July 31, 2025 of the meats (excluding the wagyu combo). The broth was so rich and meats were very soft and tender. We got our meats in less than 5 mins after ordering. We also ordered veggies and noodles, but I had to flag our server down to ask as we waited ~10-15 minutes for our veggies and nothing arrived. I found that our order was served to the wrong table, and I don't think our server would have realized had we not flagged him down. They may have been tired after a long day of working, which I understand. Overall, we had a really great experience (food wise) and I look forward to coming again. read more

Dining at this place was quite an experience. We didn't know what to expect. Glad we made reservations because the place was hopping. Our server did his best in explaining the different hot pot soups in which to dip/cook various cuts of meats and vegetables. Not having dined there before, the four of us each ordered our own soups. That was a mistake --- two could have very easily shared just one pot and one order of meat or vegetables or a combination. What I think I liked the best was being able to mix my own concoction of dipping sauce. Boy, did I get adventurous and I must say my sauce turned out so good that hubby wanted me to make more of it. I previously left a review saying the service was good and the food was great. I'm updating my review after going a few more times, and unfortunately my experience has changed. The food is always great -- no complaints there -- but the service is honestly horrendous. The last two times I went, they forgot my drink multiple times, even when there were only three tables seated. It wasn't busy at all, yet they still couldn't get simple things right. Sometimes our food even comes out before we're given water, which doesn't make sense -- especially since they hand you cups and a water container. The meat was BOGO so we opted to get 3 sets of 5oz orders, giving our party of 3 10 oz each of meat which was more than enough! Without the discounts, yes, this place can get pricey. However, the quality is so much better than a lot of AYCE places. The sauce bar is the best with so many options. The tomato oxtail broth was my favorite but we also had the original hot pot broth. It was also good with the additions of the sauces and herbs. Between the 3 of us we also ordered a mushroom and veggie basket which was more than enough. I will definitely be back and join the membership myself because for all of this we spent about $38 each including tip! My group of 3 made same-day reservations for 8pm on a Friday evening. I was super excited to try this restaurant because of the stellar reviews so I was very happy that there were lots of reservation slots for the same day. The 3 of us shared the combo for 2, and added a la carte items: pork belly, udon, and wide potato noodle. The combo for 2 was extremely extremely worth it and we thought it wouldn't be enough for 3 people but it ended up being plenty of food and we probably didn't even need to add on the extra pork belly. The combo for 2 came with 2 choices of broth (we went with Mongolian oxtail soup and house original soup), 2 meats (we went with wagyu beef brisket and lamb shank), A5 Wagyu, truffle kobe beef bibimbap, vegetable & mushroom combo, seafood combo, tofu combo, 2 drinks, and melona ice cream bars for dessert. All of the meats were delicious!! Our favorites were the A5 Wagyu and the Wagyu beef brisket. Both had such a high quality taste and didn't even need any dipping sauces. The lamb shank and pork belly were fantastic as well. Both of our broth options were so flavorful, I enjoyed both but liked the house original soup better because I usually prefer a creamier soup. We were quite impressed at the broth, meat quality, and the value of the combo for 2. Would highly recommend the combo to get a little taste of everything. The truffle kobe beef bibimbap was ok, it came towards the end of our meal and we had honestly forgotten about it. It didn't add too much to the meal. Everything else was fantastic though, and I would 1000% come again in the future! Service was friendly as well and food came out quickly. The new renovation is wonderful. Wait times are pretty much nonexistent now. I just don't know what happened to the wait staff in the past month. Before they were such an awesome, well-oiled machine that caught everything quickly. Now we have to hunt down service workers for napkins and water continuously. Are they overworked? We only saw 2 waiters and like 3 food runners. The kitchen window was overflowing with food waiting to be delivered... we had to watch our meat in the window for 15 minutes, after all our broth and other food was delivered. Tons of tables left dirty. Sauce containers empty. The food is just as good. But it seems like with all the extra tables they're not staffing enough or proficiently. Disappointing to have to hunt down the waiter repeatedly for water, napkins, check, then to take our card.... we didn't even get a chance to order more mid-meal because we were waiting so long for any kind of table touch service. He didn't come to our table once electively. First time I've been to Chubby Cattle out of 100 where I could see a huge decline in service and it was vastly disappointing. Having 1 waiter try to service 30 tables across the entire restaurant was awful to watch. read more
