I really want to like this place. It was my childhood location. However, it has its issues. There's always a few games out of order. Whittier seems to have a game tech working in games whenever I go there. It's also really hard to get help at the registers. You'll often see a customer up at the counter looking around for an employee. Whittier, on the other hand, always has someone there. La Mirada also rarely uses Kids Check, which is awkward because people often stop at the sign telling them to wait then eventually just walk in because no one is there to stamp them. That being said, employees are actually really nice. There's one guy who has a ponytail and he's awesome. If he isn't a manager he needs to be one. read more

I have been to other establishments and I am very saddened to write that this location was beyond below average. I would suggest that if you were to have a party here, please make reservations. It is not that all the tables are occupied, but the tables are not tended to and there is trash every where. By making a reservation, you are segregated in a different area that is cleaner and away from the public. The staff is grumpy. If anyone is coming here expecting great customer service that person would be a very unreasonable person. Majority of the staff were not ecstatic and were not friendly. Heads up, there's a 2 alcoholic drink minimum. The salad bar. Empty. Empty. The men's restrooms were not attended to and was very disgusting. Toilet paper on the floor and toilet paper stuck all along the toilet. With the dirty tables (and floor), dirty restrooms and the empty salad bar, the employees seem like they just don't care. If they don't care about cleanliness, one may assume there is a lack of cleanliness in the preparation of the food. This place was very concerning. A child ought to have fun and enjoy decent food. If the foundation of cleanliness is not important, everything else will topple. This establishment needs to rethink its mission. read more

This is the third time that we come here and it is ALWAYS under staffed, there was NO PIZZA, the salad bar looks like crap and the most important thing (to me) the employee that is supposed to be at door making sure ( or giving an illusion)your kids don't leave with a stranger was NOT there. - please note that the place was a lot more busy earlier. - they didn't serve pizza because the "cheese grater broke" - some people celebrating brought their own. Once upon a time I gave this location 4 stars --- but my last couple of experiences were pretty disappointing. It is regularly understaffed. 1. There's no attendant at the door to take families in or check stamps to exit-That was one thing I really liked about Chuck E. Cheese. 2. No one is monitoring the Ninja Zone, it's an extra fee and there's a bunch of kids running around without purchased socks or bracelets. 3. I ordered a cheese pizza and it took over an hour before my buzzer went off. 4. The salad bar is not kept clean, tables are not cleaned and the fountain drink area is a mess. 5. The games are not tended to, the balls that are in some of the games get stuck, but no one is around to service it. read more

WATCH YOUR CHILDREN CAREFULLY!!! We love taking our grandson to this Chuck E. Cheese; however, it is ridiculous that at times they only have ONE PERSON working. The past few times we have been, there was no one to view our hand stamp and check us out. Today no one checked us in or out! To make matters worse at times there was no one around at all which would make it very easy for a predator to come in and God forbid kidnap a child! Oh and I would skip the salad bar as well. There were flies buzzing around it today and I noticed some children were grabbing orange slices and cubes of Jell-O with their germy hands! I met up with my high-school best friend and our kids here. She had the month pass which allowed her to get a lot of game tokens and discounts. It's been a long time since I had been to this location and I can see that there's a lot of renovations. For starters, there's a soft play area and a trampoline. You get to buy cool grip socks for the kids. There's a toddler section and a bigger kid section. You can purchase tokens or time to play on each game card. If you frequent this establishment, I suggest keeping your game card because they charge for them. It wasn't too busy and we were able to get a booth and catch up while the children played. Accumulating points is a bit tricky unless you play the not so fun games. Prizes are just cheap stuff that you'd find in a birthday party goodie bag or candy. We ordered two pizzas and an order of fries. It took so long, literally like an hour. We were worried they'd close before getting our food. When we finally did get our food, it was hot and delicious. I'd just suggest ordering early because if you wait until the kids are actually hungry, you're going to be waiting for a long time. We come here about 1-2 times a month and my daughter loves it every time and never wants to leave lol! Before heading over, I check their website as they sometimes have deals on food & game cards. (I hate that they charge you $2 for card activation like what?) It can get pricey so the monthly pass is something to think about if you have a lot of kiddos. Workers are nice & pizza is good. Drinks sometimes taste like pure water. The trampoline and jungle gym/slide is an extra $12 per kid on weekdays and $15 I believe on weekends. They need special sticky socks but honestly I have never seen any reinforcement on the rules. I will say I like that chucke e cheese is usually walking around or comes out for a bit. The games can be updated as some are very old and don't work but honestly as long as my 4 y/o has fun, I'm ok! Worth mentioning that there's been about 3 times that I have seen NO employee at the exit/entrance so i definitely would not trust your kids to play alone especially if they are young kids! read more

Came to this location for the first time on a whim since we had an early dinner in the area. Parking spots were small so it was rough in our minivan. I didn't try any food here so I can't speak on that. Chuck e cheese is definitely getting more expensive as the years go by. I ended up opting for the 45 minutes cards for my kids. Bought them at the kiosk machine and it came with an extra 5 minutes. Score. Costed $33 for 45 minutes. I bought 2. I don't like how they charge you $2 to activate a card but it's not like there's options for tokens anymore so you're forced to pay it unless you already have a card to reuse. This is also the smallest location I've ever been too. I noticed there's a new trampoline/slide area. It was small and they charge $16/child. I don't think that's worth it at all. As my kids were playing, I noticed a lot of the games were broken. Some even still took the credits so that was be a big problem if I hadn't paid for time bs credits. The tickets register to the cards so you really don't know how many tickets you have until you ask. It was more packed than I thought it would be but then again, it was a Sunday evening. We were there for 1 hour and I never saw any characters come out. I don't think I'll be back to this location again. read more

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Chuck E. Cheese. The service was terrible from start to finish, and the attitude from the staff made it even worse. Instead of being helpful or apologetic, they seemed annoyed that we expected basic customer service. Half of the games either didn't work properly or were completely out of order, which is especially frustrating when you're there with kids who are excited to play. It felt like we paid for an experience that was barely functioning. To make matters worse, my order was wrong even though I placed it the previous day over the phone and then confirmed it again in person. After all that, they still managed to mess it up. There was no real apology, no urgency to fix it, and no sense that anyone cared. Team members were more interested in chatting in the back and flirting. Twirling hair and having a circle of conversation in the kitchen among all staff. For a place that is supposed to be fun and family-friendly, this visit was stressful, disappointing, and honestly not worth the money. Not to mention your sole of your shoe will be feeling stuck to the floor as you leave. Surprised that my shoe didn't stay stuck on the floor as we walked. This location has been updated with no more animatronic characters but an interactive floor by the tables. Lots of games for young or older kids. There is a new jumping area but you have to buy their specific socks, hmmm okay. Saw the staff and manager asking a customer where they received what looked like Chuck E Cheese dollars. Seems like the workers were confused with the dollars and the manager seemed agitated. The bathroom had a changing table, finally found one! Kids got their pizza and games on; while dad changed the diaper on the changing table. The smell and the managers interaction with the customers left me with a bit of a sour taste. read more

I haven't been to Chuck E. Cheese in a long time but this trip let me know I'm not missing out. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because all the staff was super nice. They were all very friendly and great with the kids. Everything else was just not it. We went for a birthday party however I purchased food and play for the rest of our group (my daughter was invited to the party, I paid for my other child and us adults). I bought a combo thinking it would include the 10% off game play - I was told the offer was expired even though it was still on their board. All the reviews about the sticky floor are accurate - at one point my sandal got stuck to the floor. The pizza is mediocre and definitely over priced. A number of the games weren't working. You have to pay extra to jump on the trampoline ($30 if you don't buy game stuff - INSANE). I asked if the trampoline was included with the party and was told no (no big deal) so I paid $15 each and bought more games play. Come to find out it's only $10 if you're with a party. No clue why they wouldn't tell me that when I asked. So over $100 later we had a mediocre pizza, bouncing and game play for 2 kids, and 2 very disappointed adults. If I'm going to play that much for a crappy pizza I'll do it elsewhere. Ultimately I always base my stars on if I would come back and I wouldn't. Just for reference for anyone going and ordering food: There is really no reason to buy combo deals 1-3 of the combo deals as you're really not saving any money. Customer service was poor. No one at the front to let you in and have to wait a long time. They always seem short staffed and it takes a long time at their counter to order food, get prizes, etc. Also, this location is running a scam. Several machines said my child earned X number of tickets but if you check the activity on the card, the child is really getting zero tickets or less than what was earned. We let the employees know but they didn't seem to care. One just blamed the machines and said it's not her machine...which is an odd thing to say. She should be letting management know but didn't seem to care. Another employee said that they can't give that many tickets to us even though the machine clearly said we earned it. They acted like it's out of their control and instead kept those defective machines running to induce others to play. What a scam!! read more

Poor customer service, I asked the guy in the back if we can have some utensils and he told me to ask the girl in the front I then told him there was no one behind the counter just a bunch of people waiting so then the girl pops out of no where and says okay I'll get them for you right now then as we walk to the front to wait for the forks she proceeds to help another customer after telling us she'll give them to us and just smiles at us while we wait. Coming here for a bday party I was very disappointed in our host. She was not ready when we arrived, we had to constantly ask for things that other parties had and she was no where to be found. When found she would say, "yea I will get such and such but it's already " 10 min into my party and I didn't get the bands for the kids....and she would walk at the pace of a snail... please have a sense of urgency especially you're already running late and you don't even have the MOST BASIC THING READY... LIKE MY KID'S name on the birthday table name card... Usually the games are not broken here.. BUT TODAY recently... like.. why am I here...five games or so down and I have to pay extra for the pretty legit looking adventure play jungle thing but ... I don't want to spend more money on that. Do NOT go to the La Mirada location. Never a manager on sight. It's always humid and hot inside. The place is filthy and the food never comes out hot. Pizza was cold when I received it. The salad bar is always empty or missing certain things like cottage cheese, black olives and/or ranch dressing. Last time I was there, the whole place smelled moldy. We were out right after we got our pizza cold. Never again going to that location. That place needs new management and new employees. The employees there now do not do anything. I ordered my food, pizza and wings. It took them 40 minutes, and the pizza and wings were colder than my feet. My wife told them, and they even put their hand on the wings to check if they were cold. They said they would make it again, and after 30 minutes, it still wasn't ready. I asked for my money back because my children were already hungry, and we had to leave. The kitchen is a disaster. It was a Sunday afternoon and we were in the area. We have the summer gold pass so thought we'd give this location a try. This has got to be one of the worst Chuck E. Cheese's I've been too. It's rather small so they don't have much games. To make it even worst like 30% of the games don't work or function properly. It was difficult to use up all our game credits since there weren't much games to play. The only thing that made this location unique was it was the only location that had the toss a ring on bottle game and a wheel of fortune. Otherwise, nothing really stood out. It's located in a large plaza so plenty of parking. Staff was nice and restrooms were clean. We didn't eat here so can't review on the food. Definitely won't be back to this location. "Where a kid can be a kid"... lol My sister and I brought our sons here (1 and 3 yrs) for a play date on a Wednesday evening. I was surprised to see the animatronics gone! My childhood memories of the creepy moving chuck and band will have to suffice. Bummed I can't scare my son and nephew with it. They have newly installed flatscreens mounted up playing kids bop and such music. There is a new interactive floor pad where the kiddos can chase fish away from the big shark. My son loved this and was dancing all over it. The food is tasty, albeit crazy expensive. $10 for a small can of white claw so be prepared to pre-game if ya need to. Tokens are also a thing of the past, replaced with loadable cards you can tap at each game in the arcade. The restrooms were somewhat dirty, paper towels usually always overflowing from the trash bin onto the floor. They of course have a baby changing station for us parents. The boys both napped hard afterwards, so they give their seal of approval. read more

I've been to many Chuck E Cheeses. I know the quality of food, arcade, a/c, performer, staff, prizes of many different locations. So it means a lot when I say, this one is pretty bad. So many arcade machines were broken: Jet Rider, Iceman, nerf gun, golden empire, spin frenzy, sonic blast ball, pop it for gold, probably more but I forget the names. I think one or two machine being down, might be a bad day, but so many being down, screams "staff don't give a crap". If they did, and it was called it, wow, took them quite a while to get it fixed. Frankly, if it takes so long to fix a machine, replace it with a different one. Having a broken machine in the mix just makes things look bad. The AC was decent, not amazing, but decent, the size of the venue was respectable, not large, nor small. I did enjoy this ring toss game they had, that was definitely unique, felt like I was at a carnival, or a ninja throwing ninja stars. All-in-all, it'll probably keep kids entertained for an hour, but man, do they need to fix those machines, who knows where the quality will drop next and what that drop might mean? For example, A/C, refrigeration of food, cooking of the food, cleanliness of food, tables, and so on. Given how many choices I have in Chuck E Cheese, I don't really plan to come back to this one. read more

Pretty nostalgic about this location, been coming here for over 15 years. Haven't been in a while and it's certainly approved. It's bright, clean & very updated. Pizza was actually pretty tasty. Was given a cheese pizza when I thought I ordered a pepperoni. They were nice enough to let me keep the first and remake a pepperoni. On that note, staff was super cheery and helpful so that seriously elevated the experience. I have a lot of memories here from coming as a kid and I love being able to make new memories with my own kid now. Glad to have this location here in La Mirada still going strong! read more

I had my baby's 2nd birthday here and it was the best experience i've ever had. We were checked on the whole time and the young lady that helped us was above and beyond. I was stress free and didn't have to worry about anything. The food came out quick without much wait time. The staff helped me get all my items together like gifts and leftovers, they were wonderful. We had our two sons birthday party on a Saturday. The manager Giselle was very helpful. Giselle explained everything to us and helped us so much. Gina our host was amazing! They need better or more staff, the games do not work, and no one smiles. There was one person at the front helping the person checking in and I waited, not kidding 10 mins to get some snacks to exchange with the tickets on my card. There were two employees who saw me waiting and just passed me by. I would've left but I'm adamant about keeping promises and so here I was, waiting for them to give me two lollipops.... Then she overcharged the lollipops (I checked the machine after she took the card from me) and realized she charged 90 for 60 ticket lollipops. I told her and she couldn't even do the basic math and took out her phone to do the calculations. I told her you owed me 60 tickets, 2 x 30 then gave me a loose piece of paper (which I'll probably lose, bc who keeps track of a small receipt?) Not a "I'm sorry" or "Thank you" in any of this process btw. Also, some of the games, though you swipe, do not work. The skee ball and basketball was the issue last time we went. I absolutely love how close this is to my home and is our go to. We got the summer pass because it's a great deal, however, the past 3x we have gone during opening hours and due to lack of staff we can't use all amenities and games do not work. Games that don't work will still take a game off your card if you swipe it so watch your littles. I also think the main manager needs a better attitude. He is not friendly and uninviting.
