Maybe you need to revisit the old chuck e cheese from your childhood or the ones in Union or No Bergen. The place is only a few years old so more than 95% of the games are in working order. Of course the place can get dirty and really germy. hundreds of kids visit that place daily. Im sure they clean up when the place is empty. As if your own child doesn't contribute to the wear and tear of the facility. The staff was helpful and didn't give attitude when my kid jammed the ticket machine. Get the coupon for 100 tokens for $20. It took us HOURS to use it all up. It's a cheap afternoon to make your kids extremely happy and why deny them the chuck e cheese childhood memory? And the hand stamp. Its a good concept albeit people sneak past.. Once again.... OKay, I know Chuck E. Cheese usually gets a bad rap with of being understaffed, dirty and over crowded, but this experience was not that bad. The parking lot was pretty much filled to capacity on a Saturday afternoon at 2PM, but I'd imagine that is to be expected. We entered and our hands were stamped. I didn't understand the logic but its actually a way to make sure all kids that come in with adults leave with those adults. This way, kids arent left behind and kids cannot leave the building without the adult they came in with. Genius idea in light in of all the horrible things you hear on the news with child abductions and stuff. The place was as expected, full of kids running around while their parents relax at their tables, but its Chuck E. Cheese's, so what else would you expect. Despite all the people, the place didnt seem over crowded. Games were available to play after a short wait at the machine if any. All games were coin operated and most took one credit, at least the ones I played. Token machines were all over which makes life a lot easier. We only stayed for a bit and did not get to get any food, but from what I saw while seeing it on other's tables, it looked fair. I am sure nothing extraordinary, but Im sure better than your average frozen diner food and maybe closer to Applebee's quality. They also had cakes there for purchase i you wanted to get child a cake, and only for $17 or so. I was expecting a ridiculous markup, but that price wasn't too bad. Overall a good experience. This is an amusement park indoors, almost like one of the indoor arcades at the Jersey Shore, without the ambiance of an ocean and sand nearby. Rather than go into the details, let me offer a survival guide for new parents and unsuspecting aunts/uncles/babysitters-returning-a-favor. Come early. 9am is probably a little too late in the day to get over this in time to recover for the evening but okay, I understand the employees need to recuperate as well. 9:30am is stretching it. Arriving early means your child)ren) get the run of the place without too much competition for the only operable skee-ball lanes, the one or two video games they can actually play at age four, and the human-sized Habitrail they set up in places like this (McDonald's, Burger King, etc). I won't even go into the scary eight-foot tall animatronic stage characters. My kids saw it from thirty feet away and had no interest in getting closer. It's cheap fun, though, because all games and pseudo-rides cost a quarter (token) each. Ten bucks will last you about as long as the kids' attention spans, which is a pretty good deal. Also, this place doesn't hew as strictly to the "No Seats Without Eats" edict of other franchisees. Other locations reserve tables for people eating the awesome cuisine there, leaving a parent with coats and bags carrying them -- the coat racks are for the first twenty kids and the place holds about sixty kids. So, a relaxed policy is compassionate and helpful. By definition, a Chuck E. Cheese can only get three stars. The menu choices, ironically, do not include macaroni and cheese, which is the uranium for a kid's nuclear reactor. However, in a nod to parents everywhere, they serve coffee, which I need if I can't drink, which I definitely need if I come here more than once a quarter. So, if you need to go to a Chuck E. What can I say? Your typical chuck e cheese. Teeming with germs from snotty little noses and smelling like a dirty gymbag but the kids have a blast. This is my 2 year old daughter and 7 year old nieces favorite place to go. If I ask my daughter where she wants to go her answer is always chuck e cheese. Plenty of games to keep them occupied for a couple hours and exhausts them enough to go into a sleep coma on the way home. The salad bar sucks. They need to put a box of arm & hammer in the fridge or something cause everything on there tasted like it was fridge burned. The pizza is decent for chuck e cheese. This chuck e cheese only dispenses 4 tickets per game. So after spending a whole night playing their, my girls could only leave with a couple of those cheapy toys- straws, plastic bugs, etc. back in my day, I used to leave with enough tickets to get the big toys. I went here with my son for his cousin's birthday party. The employees working at the register were so rude. I asked if I could have a plastic bag that they use for cotton candy to put tickets in and I got a "No" with a stare-down. The Chuck E Cheese that we usually go to always hands out the bags with a smile. Also some games were broken and not dispensing tickets that my son won. I let someone know and he said to go to the desk and ask for credits for the game. That is not a great choice of compensation on my timed party card. read more

I haven't been to a Chuck E. Cheese since I was 10, so closing in on 3 decades. I know the gist of place: games for kids, pizza, etc. My wife and I went by today with our 14-month old son, hoping to find a nice safe place for him to expend some energy on a cold day. Unfortunately, the "safe" part is at issue. We arrived, and had our hands all stamped, presumably to ensure that we leave with the child we came in with, and so that no one leaves with a child they shouldn't be leaving with. We entered the restaurant, looked around a bit, and as could be expected, the place was overwhelmingly busy on a Sunday afternoon. Kids everywhere, tables and booths all taken or "reserved". We were happy to see that the kitchen seemed to be pumping out food in a timely fashion, and the place was clean enough that we didn't get nervous about our son falling onto, or crawling around on, the floor. We let our son run around a bit, but too many tables/booths were being held with jackets and backpacks, while not being used for eating. The heavy stream of simultaneous birthday parties also limited our seating options, so we decided to leave and try the Wayne location in the hope it was a little less crowded. Upon getting to the front gate, the girl who stamped our hands was dealing with a full line of people trying to enter. I don't know if she didn't notice us, or was too busy to check our handstamps, but we were able to leave the restaurant without our handstamps being checked. We weren't stopped, asked to wait, slowed, or detained in any way whatsoever. We were able to leave the restaurant, carrying a toddler, without any verification taking place that it was actually our child. If you have a system in place (hand stamps upon entering) to ensure that children are not abducted from your establishment, but that process is not enforced, then there is a serious problem. If the girl was too busy handling checkins to monitor checkouts then, at the very least, you need someone else to handle the job. The process is useless unless it is enforced, and the fact that we were able to leave without any verification whatsoever is troubling, to say the least. read more

HORRIBLE PLACE!! No wonder people go to the one located in Wayne, NJ. Took my godson for the first time to this particular spot and the only thing that came about it was the person who served us the wings and the wings themselves. Other then that, not sure if its a lack of staff or management. First off, I had 5 games take the coins without working properly I let the first two go but after that it just got ridiculous. In one instant, I was directed to wait for someone on the floor, 10-15 minutes later, no one still showed up, so I had to go to the front and just ask for the coins back. I was there for approx 3.5 hours and not once did I see someone on the floor at all. The trash bins were full from the time we got there, till the time we left, food was just being piled all over the bins. Half of the games were not working correctly, tried to report a few, but the "floor" person never showed up when I was told to wait for them next to the machines. The tables were full of leftover food from the people who left after eating, so they were obviously very dirty. Then at one point half of the ticket counting machines were down and there was a long line wait for the others, so I asked the lady where the tickets are redeemed to see if she can just weight the tickets and give the us the receipt. Pretty sure I have seen them done it before, however she declined to do so and just told us that we have to use the machines on the floor. The entire experience was just bad for a Sunday. The day it closes down, I will not be surprised one bit. read more

Horrible experience with Assistant Manager Angie. Attended a birthday party for a friend's child and received a 2 hour card to play games that was not active. Angie had me and one of my toddlers (I was at the party with 3 children) walk for 20 minutes while she verified we had not stolen the card. Eventually she realized the card was indeed defective and not functional, I explained that she didn't have to keep me and a 3 year old waiting like that...there were other ways she could have handled it, she told me that "I should be thankful that I'm here for a free party...". I was truly taken aback by her attitude and disgusting and unprofessional behavior. I am a guest at a party and she doesn't know who I am and what I paid to be there. I told her she was unprofessional and acting trashy...and asked for the card. Beware. Don't have your kid's party at this location. read more

This is the first and only Chuck E Cheese that I've been in but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. We went there for a birthday party the other day and it was cleaner than I thought it would be. The check in process takes way too long. An overly complicated All you can Play system and menu board make it harder to get in in a timely fashion. Welcome; the host was dull and tired. Bathrooms; very dirty, I was at the place for 2 hours and not once did somebody clean the bathrooms. Dirty-Dirty-Dirty! Restaurant; We waited 45 minutes for 1 large pie. Games; many were out of order or they didn't have tickets available. The Exit; we waited almost 40 minutes to exchange the tickets and it only makes kids frustrated to know they are getting really cheap prizes. Staff- If they had 5 people for like a 250- 500 capacity, it was a lot. Very under-staff and poor teenagers look miserable and over worked. First aid Kit- None. My daughter tripped on the rug and got a bad burn, when I managed to ask a waiter for a band aid, he told me they don't have them. Ok so I guess we longer live in a world of scary animatronic puppets moving awkwardly and singing birthday songs? I took my kid here for the first time and hadn't been in a Chuck E. Cheese in probably 20+ years so I didn't know how what to expect. Upon entering there's two roped off lines? In/out? I guess? And they stamp your hand so I guess you can reenter? A lot of questions so far but nothing confusing lol after the initial entering you move forward to the counter and pick what you want to eat and can purchase drinks and credits as per most arcades/etc do now on a card. They focus more towards young kids and a lot of the games/rides, there's a few arcade games and other games for older kids/adults but not much. Pizza is very Pizza Hut like and they even offer a stuffed crust! It's edible but don't go in thinking it's gourmet lol clean as much as a kids entertainment establishment can be. 3.5 stars for me, fun time, nothing extra special. I also know some of the other Chuck E. Cheese still have the animatronics, probably older locations so if you seek that, keep looking. read more

Children will beam with joy every moment they're here. It's great fun for parents too. Keep expectations realistic -- it's not Disney World, nor a five-star restaurant -- and ignore the haters in other reviews. This is the most hassle-free, least expensive, and convenient hour or two you and a child could have. It's impossible not to love it, unless you've become a grouch. Chuck E.'s pizzas are a little small, so order more than you usually might. They're not gourmet but still taste great. Get the buffet salad bar too -- it's restocked frequently with excellent stuff, including cheese, bacon bits, etc. The prizes a child may redeem for the tickets they've won aren't anything special, but to a child the showcase of toys, and selecting one for their prize, is total joy. You'll enjoy seeing their eyes widen looking at all the choices. Three cheers for Chuck E. Cheese's. Children will consider you a hero for bringing them here. Be young again, and enjoy! read more

I am a parent of a 6 and 7 year old, I was not pleased with my experience here at chuck e cheese. I walked In and it looked like a fun and safe way for my kids to spend their afternoon, that wasnt the case. We saw 2 what looked like leader of biker gangs drinking substances and smoking galore. I am not sure how this was allowed but it really disgusts me. My little kids do not deserve to be in presence of anything like that. Both of my kids could have coughed to death being near cancer sticks. My 6 year old tapped on me to find a white powdery substance (meth) in the pocket of chuck e. this is a kids place and having people like that working here is not acceptable. My other child found 2 spiders in your ball pit. She nearly got bit and died. To wrap up our chuck e cheese journey we had some pizza. My child (6) CHOCKED on your pizza. I've heard a lot of things about this "pizza" that it's reused, that it's gross, and all now it makes kids choke. This was our first and last time at chuck e cheese. So we decided to take our 15 month to chuck e cheese on a Sunday at 7 pm. I knew i'D be in for a shit show but We went anyway... We got there and I was instantly skeeved out..the place was filthy! All the tables were sticky and gross with food all over them. Garbage littered the floor and was overflowing from every garbage can in the place! We ordered a plain pizza with half chicken and got two drinks and 25 tokens for $20 which was a great deal since we were really only goingbto put my 15 month old on a few rides hang out for an hr or two and go home. It would have been great if the pizza wasn't thin dry and tasteless. Not to mention that only 2 slices of the pizza had chicken on it, not half like we asked for. Then we had the two refillable sodas which is cool but was right next to the kitchen where I caught a glimpse of grossness . I actually saw an employee drop a CAKE icing down on the dirty floor and pick it up and put it on the counter where she first looked around tp see if anyone saw her do that.. She saw me looking with my jaw dropped and then shut the kitchen door !!! I was in shock and walked back to my table only too see her bring that cake out a minute later!!!! This new Chuck E. Cheese is a great improvement over the one that was next to the old Health Spa 2, and is definitely nicer than Wayne (where I usually take my niece and nephew) or North Bergen. It's very spacious inside, so even though there were a lot of people there, nobody was on top of each other, and there were a lot of tables available to non-birthday party goers, such as ourselves. I'm not sure if it's just because it's fairly new or if they genuinely do a better job, but the place seems cleaner than other Chuck E. Cheeses. The bathroom did need some work (several of the toilet seats were not clean, and the one that was super clean had a stall door that wouldn't close), but at least you didn't feel the grossness and slime that you do upon walking into other Chuck E. bathrooms (like Wayne). There weren't many broken games, which was great, and there seemed to be a variety of new games. This Chuck E., like others I've been to, only dispenses four tickets per game, which is a bit annoying if you happen to do really well, but at least everyone's a winner. If you have extra tokens and want to get tickets quickly without actually playing anything, stick them into the soccer-themed game that, under normal circumstances, would have you dropping your coin into a slot with the goal of getting it into a high ticket spot inside (all the little windows inside have a "4" over them, which is pretty funny). You can rack up tickets in no time. The food came out much more quickly than promised (and much more quickly than I'm used to, for a Chuck E. Cheese's). Definitely sign up for their coupons if you're planning to do both food and games, because if you pay separately, the prices are pretty ridiculous. Note to experienced Chuck E. Cheese's goers: don't expect the full lineup of furry robots in the stage area. There was a Chuck E., I believe (the rebranded, "new look" one), but the rest of the entertainment was done via TV screens. Possibly to counteract this new twist, the place does kick it old school with a cotton candy machine, where for $2, you can get fresh cotton candy, a la the old Showbiz Pizza that used to be in Hackensack. Any store/company is a reflection of management. The store was extremely dirty and trashed. 30% of the machines/games were out of service. The other 30% were damaged. The ticket machines ate up several of our tickets and half of them were damaged or off. When we went to the store to get the prizes, there was only one person, we waited for 10 minutes and when the manager came to help he took another group of clients and when we told him we were next his response was: "Well, I'm here until 11pm, so I am in no hurry!" This places sucks, every worker here has a nasty attitude. We came because it was a family members birthday and of course it was packed I mean what Chuck E. Cheese isn't? So we were trying to find at lest two tables for everyone to sit in and we found one, found a worker and asked for some help and he takes us to some tables over by the party side and we sit down. The "party manager" comes and asks us if we are part of a party that's going on and we say no and with an attitude she tells us that at 5:30pm we had to move. She told us she couldn't help with finding any new tables and if the food came that was our problem. It is now 6:00pm and there is currently no "party" there :). I would NOT recommend you coming here, the Chuck E. Cheese in Wayne is MUCH better! read more

Hmmm... where do i begin. I pulled up to this chuck e. cheese location because my cousin was turning 3 years old. I couldn't miss that for the world. However let me tell you what i certainly would have missed for the world. This Chuck E. cheese location should just be called "Sock E Cheese" because the entire place smells like a wet gym sock. I understand kids got stinky feet but damn! I smelled it as soon as I entered the door. The pizza was of decent quality. Bread, cheese, sauce, and grease. Just how i like it. I couldn't tell if the staff were polite or not because they really seemed like they didn't want to be here at all. Went searching for this place with my 2 kids all excited and after 30 minutes driving in circles we finally realized it's out of business. What a disappointment that was. We had to drive about 30 more minutes to the one in north Bergen. It was ok the kids played almost all the games . Pros: the kids love this place, it's inexpensive to play the games, and I even have fun. Cons: dirty conditions, for example there was urine inside one of the tunnels that the kids crawl through, and also the food is horrible. Our family had a good experience here it was during the week so not crowded. Once school gets out imagine it being a lot more crowded and less fun. Plenty of games for adults and kids alike although a bit pricey. Pizza was good although the medium pie it was barely enough for two adults and one child. All of the games where working and bathrooms where clean and tables. The place did have a bit of an odor when first coming in but nothing too bad. Only star lost was for food. We ordered some wings too with the pizza and the chicken wings where burnt. read more
