If this review was based on the service alone it would be an easy 5 stars. Our waitress, Haven, was wonderful and went above and beyond to make our dining experience exceptional. Coming from NY, we were pleasantly surprised by the hospitality we received at Chuck's Steak House. The salad bar was well-stocked and the addition of cheese was a nice touch. The lobster bisque was absolutely amazing and the drinks were top-notch. The only downside was that the steaks were just okay, which is why I am giving this restaurant 4 stars overall. Despite the minor setback with the steaks, everything else about our meal was great. We had a fantastic time at Chuck's and would definitely recommend it to others looking for a delicious meal with excellent service. read more

What an amazing experience! The wait was long- but so worth it! Our server was fabulous! He was knowledgeable, considerate and really made us feel like we his only table! My family and I ate here on a Wednesday around 7pm. We were seated immediately. Our server came over to take our drink order and tells us about the restaurant. They have a salad bar and a cheese and crackers station on each floor. There is a main floor, downstairs, and upstairs. We were given hot rolls and butter to start. We all opted for the salad bar with our meal. The salad bar is on the smaller side, but they offer a lot of selections and toppings. They had different kinds of lettuce, ham, egg, broccoli, mushrooms, tuna salad, cheese, pepperoni, etc. for toppings. Bread plates, rolls, and butter are on one end, cold salad plates on the other. There's a smaller station in front with toppings like croutons, sunflower seeds, bacon bits, etc. They have several dressings to choose from. All the of the salads and toppings were fresh. We could have filled up on salad alone! We ordered: - 6 oz Prime Rib (early bird menu) with baked potato with butter, sour cream, and chives. My mom enjoyed this. The meat was cooked the way she liked. She loved the baked potato. - 7 oz Prime Sirloin (early bird menu) with baked potato with butter and chives. My aunt loved her sirloin and baked potato. The meat was tender and seasoned well. - Chicken Breast (early bird menu) with baked potato with sour cream and chives. The chicken was juicy and moist. He enjoyed the baked potato. - Classic Cheeseburger (American cheese, Kaiser roll, lettuce, tomato, onion) with fries and pickle. The burger was juicy and cooked the way I wanted. The burger was seasoned well. The fries were hot and the toppings were fresh. - 7 oz Filet Mignon and 1 Lobster tail with fries. The filet was cooked to perfection. The lobster tail was fresh and tender. He loved the fries. Our server, John, was great. He was friendly, polite, talkative, and attentive. We always had refills and he checked in on us frequently to make sure we were okay. Overall, we will return. Everyone enjoyed their meals and salads. This place sort of reminds me of Sizzler. Lame salad bar and mediocre food. The concept of a salad bar and cheese bar is so 1990's. Food took over 1hr 15 minutes to come out and then was cold and over cooked , probably because it was sitting. I think the seafood station and meat station didn't communicate. The place is old, has carpet and no table clothes.. If you are into that sort of thing this place might be for you. I don't go to many expensive restaurants but for their prices you expect more. I didn't like sitting next to people wearing tank tops and flip flops either. read more

Was here once before and it was good. Got the mozzarella burger..it took a half hour and ordered it medium rare. Was hungry so ate most. Upon paying showed the wait staff part of the burger that was black. She told the manager and he said I should have told him earlier and next time don't come so hungry and he'll fix it. I gather Chuck's has been around a while but our recent visit was a first for our family. The interior is like going to a hunting cabin where they have stuffed every kill from every hunting experience they have enjoyed. Not an issue for me but probably not for everybody. This is a 3 to 4 star restaurant. I landed on the 4-star because our waitress was excellent and demonstrated a lot of hustle. In addition, they accept reservations and they honored ours on arrival. The salmon, baked potato, and onion rings were good. The filet mignon was very tender and the flavor was fine. They offer a complimentary cheese bar and the salad bar is included with most entrees. I could take or leave these two options based on my experience. Note they do have an extended early bird special which may have placed us at a peak time for the restaurant during our visit. The servings were ample and the prices were reasonable. I would recommend and we will visit again. read more

First time at Chuck's. Got a reservation 2 days ahead. There were a lot of people sitting around outside, waiting for an opening. We got there, and were immediately seated. We had an awesome server, Victoria. We had a 5:30 reservation, so we could take advantage of the Early Bird menu. My wife got the 7oz Sirloin, and I got the Prime Rib Pork Chop, with the peach ginger glaze. Me and my wife both agreed, the pork chop was the best item. The peach ginger glaze is delicious. The sirloin was good, but we both thought it needed some steak seasoning. It was cooked properly. We both loved the salad bar that is included. They have plates, so you can make a huge salad. Wow we wanted a good steak and we drove past this place a couple of times and we should have kept on going. I did look on Yelp and they got mostly good reviews, but some were less than stellar, but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. They were busy, dining room full. We ordered our Appetizers which was better than our main meals. Our Main Meals took forever to come out, over 45 minutes. I got the Teriyaki Sirloin with Baked Potato, all meals come with a one time trip to the Salad Bar, which we figured out on our own. This wasn't explained to us of course. The Teriyaki Sirloin was undercooked, was supposed to be Medium, it was rubbery, hard, dry and chewy and I didn't taste any Teriyaki in it. Was impressed with the outside of the place, plus the plaque outside stating the years it's been open, had me excited. Was greeted and seated right away. Taken to back section downstairs. Tami immediately approached to take my order but as I'd just sat down I wasn't ready to order. She took my drink order and again wanted to take my order, seemed a bit rushed. I decided on a steak, a 12oz or 14oz New York strip med well with fries. She said I get 1 visit to the salad bar which I visited, nice selection of toppings and potato and bean salad and hot rolls. There was only 1 other table in the section I was in and they were commenting about how frequently Tami was at their table rushing them along. I will mention at this point it was only 7pm, so not close to closing time. Steak arrived, well charred, however when I cut into it, it was more medium than medium well, blood slowly pooling and making fries soggy. It was also quite a tough cut, something I also heard the table next door say too. Tami only arrived back to check on me when I'd finished, had she came sooner I would have got a recook. Our golf group always goes to Chucks when we are in town. Staff was very friendly. Good and I salad bar was good. Bigger plates for the sala bar would be appreciated. I asked for lemon for my water three time and never got it. Normally we love Chucks but this time it was lacking. The salad bar was excellent our waitress was nice and accommodating. Our entrees (steak and potatoes) however were not hot. Normally when it arrives it's hot this time is was barely warm. One potato was barely cooked and the other was suppose to have just butter had sour cream and chives on it. The tables around us were served their food before use and we had sat down before them. The waitress offered to make things right. read more

I looked at the reviews and decided to try it anyway. However, overall, it was marginal at best, which is interesting because it was very busy. The salad bar was very basic with limited items and nothing special including bagged lettuce. They do note it's only a one-trip salad bar at an extra cost (I think it was $11 without sandwich and $9 with). It's included on the higher-priced entrees. Note that they only have tiny plates. The yeast rolls were good and the service was pretty good too. I ordered filet mignon and it was just OK and not great like I expected for the price. It was overcooked, since I ordered it "medium," and it also lacked flavor. My wife had one of the giant (10 oz.) burgers as well as my sister. Again, it would be better to serve a 1/3 or 1/2 pound burger cooked properly and not the massive size that most guests don't finish. My brother-in-law had pork chops that were good. Our other guest had chicken. We've checked it off the list and won't be back. There are many other restaurants in Myrtle Beach with better quality of food and service for the price. read more

Chuck's was a treat. All the locals know about this place, including my 75 year old mother. Super eclectic crowd all over and it's a great place to grab a beer at the bar just to people watch. Large menu that's bound to have something you'll want to try. Their happy hour specials are pretty good and they serve 32 ounce big beers! The service at Chucks is always outstanding. The all you can eat salad bar is always fresh and abundant. We went for the Special Beef Wellington, it was a little pricey at $63 mine came out a little rare but my wife's was cooked perfect. The taste was very good, the mushroom pesto was very rich. They could have cut back on the size, as we were only able to eat 1/2 at the restaurant which would have reduced the price. The atmosphere at Chucks is always inviting and warm. Would have given them a 5 except for the rare beef and price of the meal, but you won't be disappointed coming here for steak. read more

Four girlfriends on vacation thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Chuck's Steakhouse! The food was excellent, martini cocktails were a great way to start our evening. Next the salad bar with everyone's favorite veggies and hot rolls! We all decided on the Senior menu which had serving sizes that were more than adequate. Ribs that really did fall off the bone, prime rib which melted in your mouth and pork chop with an amazing ginger peach sauce. Our waitress, Colleen anticipated our every need and was so pleasant. As a local, I had never tried Chuck's Steak House. Had my first visit there last night and was truly disappointed. I ordered the Rib Eye, 12 oz. steak, and it was the worst I have ever had! It was thin as a pancake and was overcooked. Their prices certainly don't match the food quality. Salad bar was messy and had lots of dust catching stuffed birds hanging over the top of it. And the plates were so small they didn't want you to eat too much salad. The service was good and our waitress was experienced. This is the first time ever I have written a restaurant review. HEALTH ISSUE. My service from the waiter Mike was awful. After speaking to the manager, he did not resolved the issue. They made an acquaintance eating dinner at my table accept food that I cut into with my used fork. They put the food in front of me and I thought it was mine at first. I cut into it with my fork that I had already eaten with. I asked for a new steak for the acquaintance and the waiter and assistant refused and bullied him into eating it anyways. It's a health issue. It's completely unacceptable. The manager had nothing to say. No apology. He belittled me in front of an entire table of guest. read more
