This was a place that took us completely by surprise. When driving by, it looks like an old Chinese buffet place. However, when you get inside, you get that log cabin feeling with all of the hunted and stuffed animals all across the walls. it kind of reminded me of the older days when you had to get your own salad, such as a ruby Tuesday's or Tony Romas, but this was a little more classier than that. I was very satisified with the meal that I ordered - a 24 oz boneless cut of prime rib served with hot au jus sauce. They provided plenty of horseradish as well (as i love my spice). It was cooked to perfection (i asked for the rarest piece that was available, and got a very tender piece of meat). The salad bar was nothing special, however was kept clean and replenished most of the time. there was a great selection of different types of lettuce, as well as many fixin's. They also made some amazing homemade rolls that were readily available at the salad bar. My friends ordered a filet mignon cooked to med rare, and it came out a little overdone, but the flavors were perfect, so it didn't taste like you were eating a steak that was cooked to medium / medium well. My other friend ate the NY Strip and that came out cooked just as well. Our server was wonderful and kept an eye out for us as we were consuming a lot of water (we just played 18 holes of golf). Overall, the ambience was very appealing (if you are okay with seeing all of those mounted animals), and the food was very tasty as well. Even though it looks like a hole in the wall from the outside, it was a great restaurant inside. This place is great. All entrees come with a cheese and cracker bar and a salad bar with warm rolls. You only get 1 trip to the salad bar but our waitress said feel free to use 2 plates. One plate was plenty! I had the sirloin steak. Some of the outside was a little burnt, which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5, but it was pretty good. My son ordered a burger. They grind their own meat for them. This thing was an absolute monster. They listed it as 10 ounces and it was just huge he only ate about 1/4 of it. You can add the salad bar to any sandwich for $5. My husband and I have been visiting the Myrtle Beach area for the past 15 years. Each year we pass Chuck's and swear we'll go next year. We went for dinner there this evening, finally, after 15 years! Huge huge disappointment! My husband's steak was overcooked,was remade and still wasn't cooked correctly. The baked potato's were old, and the real butter we asked for was stale and waxy. The crab bernaise was meh. Nice selection on the salad bar, but the veggies were not cut evenly which made the red onion too strong. Two bright spots: my husband's virgin pina colada was outstanding and Michaela our server was attentive and friendly. We will not be going back. We spent a little over $100 for a one-star rating. Not worth it. The chef needs to take a step back, taste what is being prepared and oversee food preparation. And use REAL BUTTER! Only have butter substitute available upon request. So I wanted to thank the gentleman that helped me last night at the bar. Seemed like an owner or manager. I was down for my son's college baseball team at Ripken and had my wife and anxious dog with us for the trip which meant we couldn't dine out. I tried calling in an order to Chuck's but was told they don't do phone orders, but we could come and order from the bar to go. I was going to go elsewhere but figured I'd just drive the 15 minutes as it would be quicker than figuring out something else and reviews were great. Got there at about 5:15 and it was slammed! No parking so I dropped my son off to go place order and waited for parking spot. As I headed in, my son came out telling me they were too busy for take out. I decided to try myself explaining to this guy that his staff had just told me to come down. I could tell he was annoyed with the situation. He acquiesced and told me he'd do it but was never doing take out again (sorry if he keeps to that instead of just saying non-peak hours). He had a waitress take out order and we had a drink and stood around bar area with great happy hour snacks. Good was up in 15 months and took back to our rental and everything was delicious. We all got filet mignon and fries. Also got wings and wife loved the strawberry cake. I thanked him on way out and definitely understood why that restaurant isn't a takeout type of place but appreciated him doing it because his employee had told me something...he kept their word. Based on the reviews and the parking lot, he did not need my $200 business, but did the right thing. I'll be back there for a guys golf trip in September and told him to expect to see me with my 11 golf buddies. Prime rib was cooked to perfection, nice and juicy and great tasting (Chucks Steakhouse is well know for this item). Baked potato was large and freshly cooked, salad bar was clean, fresh, well stocked and perfectly chilled. The cheese and crackers bar starts off the dinner one of my favorites. Service waitress Kiley was excellent, great personality and took care of every need. She was exceptionally sweet and attentive! We went here for the first time. For the positives, restraurant was very nice, service was excellent and salad bar good stuff on it unfortunately you couldn't fit much due to skinny plates. Now to the bad, the prime rib was a Terrible cut of meat. Look for yourself, that much fat for the price we paid was terrible. I reached out to the company and nobody got back to me. When you pay at least $52 per prime rib before tip and tax, you expect more meat than fat. Unfortunately instead we got so much fat and when I said something while there I was there, I was told it's a fatty kind of meat. . I cut the fat off so I could eat some meat and as you can see it's half fat. Not a good cut of prime rib. Too bad because the actual meat tasted good, problem was there isn't as much meat. This was a very expensive price to pay for all that fat. We were looking forward to a great prime rib meal here and instead left there Very disappointed. First off I'm a local to Myrtle Beach and have been eating at chucks for years and it's always been my go to place for a good steak. The last 3 times we have visited was utter disappointment prime rib that you couldn't cut with a chainsaw and burnt ribeyes every time. Alexis, our server, was wonderful--friendly, attentive, and efficient throughout the evening. The senior menu offered a great variety and included access to an outstanding salad bar, which featured a wide selection of fresh options. My wife and I stopped in one evening last week. My wife had the 7 oz. filet and I had the 9 oz. sirloin. Both were good, but they were a little over cooked. She had a baked potato and I had French fries and they were good. The old school salad bar was fun, but not spectacular. My wife enjoyed the cheese bar. Service was fine. The restaurant was certainly old school steak houses with lots of dark wood and outdoorsy decor. Chuck's was good, but not blow your socks off. Worth a try. read more

Meh. We've been here before and it was always good up until last night. We were seated in a freezing cold room. The service was good. Our food arrived lukewarm about 45 min after we ordered it. My wife complained about hers and got it replaced in about two minutes. My filet was cold and undercooked but I just didn't eat mine. I won't be coming back at least for a while. read more

I ordered a NY Strip Steak, The steak I received had so much grizzle it I could not eat it. This was my third and last time going to Chuck's. First time a had a good experience, the second time my steak was completely over cooked. They cooked me another steak but it was not a NY Strip, it was a sirloin steak. I explained I had ordered a NY Strip and the manager came out and told me the replacement steak was a NY Strip. My husband and I were visiting Myrtle Beach for work and decided to try Chuck's Steakhouse. We had stumbled upon the restaurant earlier in the year, but unfortunately they had just closed for the evening. On October 2nd, we gave it another try and we're so glad we did! We were greeted warmly and told the wait would be about 15 minutes and gave us a menu to look at while we waited, which 15 minutes was surprisingly quick. Once seated, we met our waitress, Alexis. From the very beginning, Alexis made our experience wonderful. She greeted us with a genuine smile, was very attentive when taking our order, and quickly brought out our drinks and food. Throughout the meal, she checked in on us at just the right times never too much, never too little always with the same warmth and attentiveness. We also watched how she did the same with other customers that were near us. Her kindness and professionalism truly elevated our dining experience there. On top of that, the food was absolutely delicious. The steaks were cooked perfectly. I told my husband we had to make sure Alexis knew how much we appreciated her. Burger update, I really enjoy chucks, the decor is unique and interesting, the restaurant is clean and the servers are great. Chucks is one of our frequent dinning spots. The food is usually flavorful but I will say that the burger was a bit disappointing. It was tender, not undercooked for such a thick burger patty, condiments were fresh and plentiful, but the burger lacked flavor. Still Chuck's is one of my favorite places to eat and they have lots of very tasty dishes...they also have one of the best happy hour deals in the grandstand. read more

Well it's been a while since I've dined here and certainly will be the last time ever. Back in the area for work and my wife tagged along and we decided to dine at Chuck's since it's been a while. Last experience wasn't a positive one so figured we would take a break. Well we should have just stayed a way. It's usually the same when you go to Chuck's the hostess usually just gives you that million mile blank stare as you approach, no welcome, no how many, just a blank stare. After being seated the waitress who was much nicer than the hostess asks if we want to hear tonight's special. We place our order and the waitress lets us know since Monday's are slow the only salad bar was up by the entrance tonight. Once we get to the salad bar is when we should have left. The lettuce was mostly brown even after digging around in the bowl. The wife comments that it looks like it was from last night how soggy and brown it is. We both found some edible pieces to put on the plate. That should have been a sign to leave them but we stuck it out. The wife ordered a sirloin which always comes out black like a hockey puck. Sometimes it's the same toughness as a non frozen puck. I ordered the salmon and didn't order the early bird dining size but it was what I received with an apology that the cook was preparing another piece since he misread the slip. I offered to eat what I was served but was told it's being cooked and out shortly. Within a couple minutes the second piece arrived. I took a bite and thought it tasted kind of bland and weird considering the amount of seasoning on the top. Looked at the plate and realized the salmon was raw. It was the top and bottom and sides were cooked but the inside was raw. We flagged down a manager and showed him and he acted surprised and said let me look into it. Look into what? The fish was taken from the fish tank and barely cooked and put on my plate. I told them I was all set just take the meal off the bill I didn't want anything else. The manager left and came back with the server and said he was sorry the meal was removed. Not once did he ask if I was sure I didn't want something else? Apologize and let us know he would speak to the cook? Did you want a dessert or another trip to the salad bar. Seems the manager was poorly trained or honestly just didn't care. So when a business shows lack of empathy is one that doesn't need my money. When they were going to close permanently a while back I guess they should have stayed closed. But it was cold so where my green beans...... But they knew about it even before I told them... They took care of me...... I never complain I was in the Army I could eat dirt...... We have eaten there many times and for Valentines 2025 we chose to go there. It was one of the best meals I have had. The food, filet for my husband and Prime Rib for me was the best ever. We never stopped here because you can't find a park and it looked commercialized outside. We were fooled ! This time we got lucky with a park and the food was delicious!!!
