Was very disappointed by tonight's service . We've been coming to chucks for years now and tonight was horrible. We waited an hour for our food and our waiter didn't come check on us but one time. No update about the food , nothing. He was very attentive to his other 3 tables but not us. Definitely left a bad taste in our mouth. read more

Overall good. Some of the dishes weren't cooked to a high standard -- but good for an Athens restaurant. For example, I had both the seared tuna and mahi special. Both fish were over cooked and it seemed excess sauce was added because the fish was not super fresh. If I were to go back, I would order more sushi and sashimi. That was definitely better quality. Also sampled the chicken app which was great and had a great flavor. read more

The food is good, but there is other places with better service and less of a wait. I was told it would be a two hour wait and it was three. The food came two hours later. They seated us outside with no heaters when it was 60. The bathroom was over flowing and had no toilet paper and was clogged. They did not have good service. Everything about my experience was top notch. I felt like I was in a big city, dining where the rich and famous eat. Go you will not be disappointed. The 1 little thing I will mention is the bar is tiny. Do not think you can go hang out at the bar to wait for a table. Excellent food. Highlights -- seafood pasta, fried shrimp, and wedge salad. The love chicken dish on the menu chicken scallopini also got strong reviews at our table. Lots and lots of sushi choices. I loved the diverse menu and really had something fir everyone. Not a huge sushi eater but enjoyed the California roll. Food is really flavorful and well seasoned. Service was also great. Celiacs beware! Manager informed me that even though they have gluten free soy sauce... apparently, they brew their own in house vinegar and add flour to it. So, all of their sushi is not gluten free. I find it hard to believe, but that is what we were told. Most sushi rice is fine as it contains mirin and rice vinegar, which is always gluten free. It is a huge disappointment, and not sure their special brew makes their sushi any better than making it the traditional way. But ends up excluding all celiac patrons that usually seek out sushi as a "safe" food. Hoping management reads this and reconsiders their recipe. read more

Overrated and low quality food for top dollar. I never mind paying a lot for high quality food, but here their sushi is top dollar but the lowest quality in town. I'm pretty sure Rusans has better quality tuna/salmon. You can find better and much cheaper rolls any where in town. Is disappointing because I have tried them a few times and keep hoping they will get it right eventually. Have heard their steak is good, but if I'm going for steak I'd rather go to Porterhouse. This is my third visit to this restaurant. I only order sushi. Both times Chef Vu was on shift and the sushi came out amazing! Today it looks like they hired new sushi chefs and the fish to rice ratio is off. They definitely skimped out on the fish this time, so I tasted more rice than the umami fish flavor. And the rice was a little too mushy. Hopefully the sushi will be more consistent and up to par with how Chef Vu makes it next time. I'll likely return but will call ahead to make sure Chef Vu is working that day. read more

Pasta portion was small with a few mussels, etc. Stuffed shrimp were average size stuck in a ball of stuffing. Hostesses appeared joined at the hip, and merely pointed vaguely across the dining room to the Pick Up table. Weaving through the tables (to get the food) revealed a no frills ambience. Absolutely amazing food!! Our waiter recommended the Donkey Kong roll, which is not on the menu but is massive enough to share, and it was delicious. The tuna nigiri is some of the best I've ever had. Very fresh food and tasty overall. The "sunset" and "kenji" sushi rolls not pictured were delicious as well and would definitely recommend to order. Very good place, stopped in today for an early dinner and they had some awesome happy hour food and drink specials. $6 or $7 dollar roll specials were in the happy hour too. Wow. We are totally impressed with Chucks!! Starting with the Host, super friendly and kind. While waiting for a table we grabbed a drink from the bar, the bartenders were fast and attentive. I have bar-tendered and served for about 8 years and Im super impressed. We sat and our server was awesome literally so sweet and kind. She brought out water and then dropped off our ice teas, We sat on the patio and it was a hot one our drinks did not go empty once. Spring rolls were so crisp and filled with the best freshest ingredients. (best we have ever had & we frequent many Thai restaurants) then the backdown roll, wow that could have been dinner. so delicious, literally everything was a perfect ingredient. Dinner, yellow fin tuna and the stuffed shrimp.... Literally scrumptious. Orca & Bok Choy has never been prepared for us this way & tasty as ever. I really like chucks fish and the restaurant itself is a really cool environment. The sushi is good but a little over priced in my opinion.

Calamari appetizer was good, drinks were decent, dessert was good. The sushi is honestly some of the worst I've ever had. I rarely leave reviews but if you're charging $20 for a sushi roll, the rice should at least be cooked properly/rolled correctly. If you go here, stick to the non-sushi entrees. read more

We went to Chuck's on the recommendation of a friend after a day between the hedges. The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. My wife had the seafood pasta and I had the sunset rolls.
