I have been in Athens for almost a week now. I have enjoyed all the southern comfort food i have eaten but I'm ready for some Asian cuisine. My husband and father in law decided to grab pizza from Johnny's pizza next door. My cousin and I headed to Siri. I did check out their online menu before heading there. They seem to have your typical Thai food which is nice. Everything on the menu looked great! Lots of options to pick from. The venue itself is pretty. I love all the beautiful decor and how spacious it is. I got sat at a table while I was waiting for my cousin to head in. There was a huge rain storm and she needed it to pass before she could head in. I was told to order first and that she would order when she made it in. I got myself a Thai tea as I looked over the menu one more time. The tea was good. It was a little light on the spices and half and half but it was still good. I got some crab rangoons started. Back home, my go to meals are pad se ew, yellow curry, pad thai and rad na. On their menu there's a noodle dish that sounded similar to rad na. It's called lard na, wide rice noodles with veggies in a gravy. That's how you would basically describe rad na. I asked my server if it's pretty comparable and she said yes. So with her confirming I went ahead and ordered it. The crab rangoons were ok. They were really tiny. The filling in the middle was a little too sweet for me. It would have been nice to have a savory middle since the dipping sauce was on the sweet side. My noodle dish didn't come as I expected. There was a lot of gravy to the dish. The gravy acted like a broth. It was overwhelming eating that much gravy as a broth instead of having the gravy coat the noodles. The gai lan and broccoli was really fresh. The tofu was good. My favorite part of the dish was the wide rice noodles. But as a whole, it was ok. My experience here was decent. It was nice to branch out of all the southern style food and have some Asian cuisine. The venue is really nice and the staff was kind. It was cool to be able to mark off Thai food off my to do list in Athens. read more

Tried the Tom Kha soup --small portion. Very thin soup, very few mushrooms , and it was as served spicy instead of mild as ordered. Disappointed. Would not try this restaurant again Othered were unhappy with the Tom Yum, but liked the pad Thai. read more

We have been going to watkinsville for thai and decided to try this closer restaurant. We came for lunch and it was delicious! Nice calming atmosphere with music playing. Good portions and comparable prices. Will come for dinner soon. read more

Pretty cute place and not bad Thai food for athens!! Def better than the wok and thai spoon. We got the tom kha soup, tom yum soup, and veg spring rolls. Do not sleep on their tom yum!! Very flavorful! For mains we got basil fried rice spicy with tofu, panang curry with tofu spicy, and drunken noodles with tofu spicy. Didn't love the drunken noodles but every thing else was great! I would recommend getting at least med spicy here as the spicy here wasn't even that spicy. For dessert we got coconut ice cream and purple rice pudding - both AWESOME especially good together!! If I had to pick one though I would go with the ice cream. Was looking forward to trying their Thai tea ice cream but they were out. Service was fairly fast. The food was mid, honestly not authentic. Definitely catered to Americans or westerners with no real palate. Tried all the Thai restaurants in Athens, this one was the most pleasing but still low-mid tier. The som tum wasn't spicy even when asked for spicy (Falang spicy). It also wasn't flavorful, just tasted sweet and sour (no umami flavor). The service was okay. The ambience was fine too, but didn't enjoy the food at all. I ordered take out crispy duck and fried chicken skins. It took me 20 minutes to arrive at home. The duck was overcooked and the skin was flaccid. The chicken skins were barely warmed and they too were much less than crispy. The atmosphere in the restaurant seemed quiet and welcoming. The staff, especially the bartender, were friendly. I will return but not for take out. I want to give them an opportunity to redeem themselves by ordering in and taking advantage of their food offerings and environment. read more

First: they refused to switch the pad Thai to a special when we wanted to order dessert (should we have ordered the dessert first before we even got our meals?) They added 18% tip to the entire table and then brought back the copy to sign where it asked to tip again- but didn't make clear that they'd already taken a tip out. The pad Thai was mid to low compared to other places. You're better off buying some from the grocery store frozen section. My favorite Thai place in the whole wide world! They truly have the best pad see ewe!! Their Tom Yum soup is also incredible and their pad woon sen is too! I always have to get their appetizer sampler because the kiew tod, dumplings, and spring rolls are so perfect! And the peanut sauce is amazing! My family came here because we thought it was a part of SriThai kitchen and Sushi. But it wasn't. The spring rolls that came with the entrees were sooo dry. They're filled with ground chicken, clear glass noodles and carrots. They were served with a side of spring roll sauce, that was literally enough for 1 dip. The chicken pad thai was good. I ordered Moo Yang off their dinner menu and got Gai Yang. The chicken was burnt and the dipping sauce was ok. I didn't care for the vegetables that came with it. The rice that came with it wasn't fresh (Probably from the day before) The papaya salad here was pretty good though. I always order mild papaya salad and they come out too spicy, but the spice level here was correct. My husband ordered the pho here and Lad Na to go. He enjoyed them both. read more

This restaurant is one of the most underrated restaurants in Athens. I have been here at least 5 times in 2021 and I always have a great experience. The tropical fried rice with maximum spice level is my go-to. It's perfect for a date, because it's often pretty empty so you can actually hear your date. It's also good for big groups as you can hear everyone at your table without having to yell. The service is great and there is rarely ever a wait if at all. Which is really nice if you are trying to escape the busyness of downtown Athens where there is often a line at most places. Parking is also never a problem as there is a huge lot just outside. I think the menu also has something for everyone, including those who aren't familiar with Thai food and those who have a low spice tolerance. I can't recommend this place enough! read more

The area was nice and clean. We were sat at a booth that came with soft and comfy seat mattress. We ordered water, panang curry, tofu delight (which it was called something else in the menu), and rice pudding. We got our entrees pretty quick during lunch rush on a Tuesday. I absolutely loved the tofu delight! It wasn't too sweet or sour. I don't like meat so I would recommend this if you're not a meat-eater. My friend enjoyed his panang and says it's the only thing he will get here (he's never tried anything else besides that). Both came with hot, fluffy rice on the side. For desert, we go the taro rice pudding for this cold, windy day and it was delicious! Cold creamy coconut on hot bed of sweet rice with taro chunks definitely warmed us up! The restaurant is well decorated with a cozy vibe. The pad thai was mediocre but very wet. At the end of it there was a pool of diluted sauce at the bottom, it's as if the noodles were not properly drained after cooking. The Tom yum noodle soup was extremely bland and had no resemblance to the original soup. The broth resembled chicken broth but tasted like hot lime water. There were also red pepper flakes thrown atop. I asked for level 4 spice, but the soup wasn't spicy at all. One of the more underrated restaurants! It's very authentic and makes you feel as if you took a step out of Athens. They play some really nice music and you feel immersed into the restaurant. Definitely a good spot to meet up with some friends or colleagues or even a cute date spot. I ordered the Pad See Ewe with vegetables and I was pleasantly delighted. I got a pretty large serving for a relatively decent price. Each bite was soaked with flavor and was truly some of the yummiest Thai I've had in Athens. I have only ever tried their curry but it is very delicious. This is my go to curry place since it is close to my place in Athens and they have never disappointed. Beware of asking for mild. Absolutely astonished, and we will definitely be back. Ignore the 1 and 2 star reviews, if you like Thai, this is a real unsung restaurant of East Athens. My wife got crispy fried noodles (Lad Na) which was very tasty, but the gravy was a little watery and could have been thicker. Rarely does she clean her plate, but she finished the entire meal! Savory and not too salty or spicy. I got the Black Pepper beef and it was phenomenal. I like things a little spicy, so I ordered it medium. It wasn't spicy enough for me but I had no problem devouring the entire dish. We also got some crab Rangoons which I highly recommend. They aren't the frozen chewy kind you get everywhere, but were freshly made with a light crispy pastry shell and lots of cream cheese goodness inside. read more

The panang curry was so bland I couldn't believe it, also medium spice level. The curry had a small portion as well. The Thai tea wasn't even that flavorful. Restaurant is clean and nice decor. The service was not friendly or hospitable. It seemed they were annoyed we stopped in to eat. We were traveling and really wanted to stop for Thai. We had just done a UGA tour. The food came out quickly. My son and I had green curry and my daughter had red. The rice was dry and some parts hard. It seemed old. The food was so spicy that you could not taste anything. I like to be able to taste the layers and not just have spicy heat. None of us finished our meals because of the heat. And we did order mild. We also eat a lot of Thai so we are aware of the spiciness and know what good Thai food is. I would not go back if I'm in the area again. I will try another place. read more

I remember when this was a restaurant in the Bottleworks many moons ago. Nice to see the East side get some Thai after all these years. I give high marks to this place for offering good Thai at affordable prices. The basil rice noodle dish I ordered was delicious, and the fried roll with sauce they brought was pretty tasty too. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and also have a wine bar as well. Service was fast and friendly. HORRID EXTREMELY RACIST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have been an Athens native for the last 5 years, and started frequenting Siri Thai last year trying to support local businesses and find some unique food spots. I placed a to go order today at 5:38 pm and arrived to pick up my food at 5:59 pm. I walked in as I typically do and walked straight up to the register with my debit card in hand. Well a young woman with glasses comes up to the counter a minute later, so naturally I am expecting to pay and go. NOPE, she says nothing to me and I am standing about a foot away from her in a bright blue shirt. She continues to walk around, go back and forth from the register (where I am directly standing) to various areas of the restaurant, seemingly trying to appear "busy" and avoid helping me. I figure maybe they are simply short-staffed which is completely understandable, so I patiently wait, assuming naturally that once she is done, I will be assisted. NOTHING, not even a hello, what's your name, why are you here, do you need help, NOTHING, straight silence for 12 MINUTES. An older lady appears behind her throughout this time frame and avoids eye contact with me completely, I attempt to get her attention as I did with the younger woman, and again NOTHING, so it was beginning to get humiliating as I could obviously tell that they were avoiding me on purpose and did not wish to help me, despite the fact that I had placed a to go order as always, and am a paying loyal customer. I tested my theory that this was purposeful, when a caucasian man in his mid-50's walked in and stood right behind me. I kid you not, within a minute and 45 seconds, the older lady comes right up to the register, where I had still been standing for what had now become 15 minutes, and she begins to speak, so I am hopeful. HUGE MISTAKE, she starts rudely waving her hand in my face and motioning for me to MOVE so she can assist the man behind me, that just got there. I asked her what she meant, she proceeds to say, that he got there before me, so I better move.... I was incredulous and notified them that I had been standing there for 15 minutes with ZERO assistance, and so the younger woman comes up and finally asks my name (who knew that was rocket science), and I told her. Guess what? She looks down at the table she and the other woman had been passing and my order was sitting right there the ENTIRE time, since I had ordered it much earlier than the older man. The young woman saunters up with my food, and starts smiling, as if something was funny.. I didn't find a single thing about that encounter funny and I instead found it incredibly humiliating and degrading; there was never an apology or explanation, the older woman simply tried to rush me out. In all of my 5 years of living in Athens, I have been to many local favorites and chain restaurants alike, never have I ever experienced such blatant disrespect and disregard for my time. This was the last thing I needed to deal with after a long day of work. Hopefully this may help someone else in the future to not feel humiliated like I did. You are worth more than that. read more

Ordered hot for my spice level which I have ordered at this and many Thai restaurants before and has never been an issue. When I got my entree it was so hot as it was coated with so many chili flakes it was inedible. I was told it would be remade and I asked if it could be made to go as I had been there for quite a while. I brought the food home and it was a tiny portion when I had a full entree I had barely eaten before and it had clearly had just been rinsed off and put in a small take-out box. I came here to give it another chance because in the past I have found their dishes to be subpar compared to other Thai restaurants I have been to, but now I know I won't be returning. read more

D8 nite!! We were planning on stopping by somewhere else but decided to try somethin new ! Y'all , never be to worried to try somethin new! Annyways , I really enjoyed the food ! The service was nice. And the ambiance - or what my children call , vibe - was neat! The hubby and I left with tummies full and happy faces that said I would order the mussaman currie again. Not the sampler - it was neat to be able to try but could've done without the tofu - and not that I don't like tofu but in a sampler I want to try/sample new things! The sauce it came with were both sweet - good sauces! Very similar in taste but one with Peanuts - wild have liked a spicy one ! And the curry was supposed to be one chili pepper but I think could've handled a bit more spice !! So if u like spice tell em to load it up because it doesn't come spicy at all! This was my first time here, I am not from the area but Thai food sounded so good. I came in and wasn't sure about the portion sizes and the ladies running the stand showed me the size and portion and it was definitely enough for two people. I got the shrimp pad Thai and calamari as an appetizer and to my surprise it came with tempera veggies too and it was all made to order, so if you don't want to wait, I would try to call. The food was good and if you are not a fan of spice do not get the level 3 because it's HOT but I enjoy spice, so it was perfect for me. It's a cute and quaintly decorated restaurant and although I may not visit again since I'm from out of state, I would recommend Siri Thai to a friend who is in the Athens area. read more

The food was a huge disappointment. The chicken was boiled with absolutely no flavor except it tasted like it had been cooked for a while. We tried 4 dishes and all were very small for the price and each had no flavor. Since we could not eat the chicken, we only had a few bland vegetables for a very pricey dinner. Even the chicken wontons tasted like old grease. The papaya salad was bland and half the size of the picture but the only dish we could really eat. We asked for some soy sauce to see if it helped the chicken fried rice and he seemed offended and brought us a tiny dish of about 2 teaspoons. He noticed we had picked out all the chicken and we told him it did not taste good and his response was so sorry. The air conditioner was broken so the restaurant was very warm on a 90 degree evening. Several people left and we wish we had also. We will not be back! read more
