Look for the parking attendant walking around who will help you find a parking spot. We only had to wait about 4 minutes. The Restaurant/Market: The inside of this seafood market is pretty cool/ gives Seattle vibes with their displays of fresh fish over ice. They have a pretty big selection of food, daily specials, and catch of the day... and even some merchandise. You walk up and order at the counter and get a number. Where to eat? There's outside tables and tables upstairs on a balcony. We chose the balcony so we could look out over the harbor. We did see a Sea Lion swimming along while eating which was fun. It was relatively clean, very noisy, and it smells like fish there. What we ate: I ordered a fried seafood sampler platter with crab cakes, shrimp, and deep fried fish fillets. It was a bad choice. The fish tasted dry and old, it was greasy, and there was a lot of oil. My son got fish and chips and it tasted like mine, greasy, oily and not great. The fries were pretty awful (hard and tasted like they were re-fried to heat them up) My brother got the ahi salad which was just okay. The salad wasn't anything special, he said the fish tasted decent. My Mom got the clam chowder soup. It wasn't very flavorful and pretty watery. Overall- we were not impressed with the food at all. There's much better places to get fish in the are. The ambience of the area is great though, and it's lovely to be by the harbor!

The restaurant is located near the water and is highly popular among tourists and locals. There is a decent size paid parking lot at the back, but finding a spot may be tough. Taking Uber may be a better option. When we arrived, the restaurant had a line but was moving quickly. The menu was written on the board and customers ordered at the counter. Water was self served and waiters would bring out your food when ready. Both indoor and outdoor dining areas were available. For dinner, I had the seafood stew for $31, which had ample seafood in a flavorful tomato based broth. A warm baguette was served on the side. My husband had the fish and chips for $14. He said the fried fish was slightly soggy, but he enjoyed his meal. Overall, the restaurant felt authentic and the food was of solid quality. The prices here are unbeatable with the fresh ingredients and serving sizes. Can't wait to return to try other dishes. Highly recommend!

My wife ordered the Steamers plus a wine whilst I got the Seafood Platter and a beer. It came to $72.45 plus tip. The ordering process is to order at the counter and then find a seat. Your food is then delivered to your 'table'. There are 3 tables, three booths and a plethora of counter-type seats, which is what we chose, for the view of the harbor. Our meal came in about 10-12 mins. The steamers came with a garlicky, oniony white wine broth and a 5" chunk of a baguette. I only tasted the broth but it was excellent. My platter came loaded with fries, lots of fried calamari, a 4-ounce portion of fish, three very large breaded shrimp and a huge crab cake. There were no negative takes on my meal and the highlights were the fish and crab cake. The fish was lightly battered and was perfectly cooked. The crab cake had a great crust on each side and was 1 1/2" thick, with great crab flavor. There's a big chance we will be returning next year.

Don't get me wrong, we've gotten good sashimi, but not cut thick & with good quality that is worth the price like this place. The price wasn't even as high as many of the other sashimi places we've tried! They give you only 2 fish choices on the plate, however. They have listed about 5 or 6 different kinds, but it depends on what is available. We had salmon & tuna. Salmon is my favorite, but their tuna was fantastic! First time I can say I may have liked it better than the salmon!! Their other dishes we had were also yummy. My daughter loves scallops & they were cooked to perfection. I don't usually like scallops because most places cook them till they're rubbery. Not this place! My husband had swordfish & I had the sea bass. Both were also delicious, but I think they may have mixed up which plate went to which person. Good thing, as we were trying each others' food, my daughter noted the slight texture difference between the two (I hadn't had a chance to taste them yet). Interestingly, swordfish usually has a vastly different texture than bass, but here, they cook it so well, there wasn't a huge amount of difference! That says something since swordfish is usually very "meaty." If my daughter hadn't noticed, I wouldn't have complained even though I was looking forward to the bass. I like flakier fish. However, the bass wasn't as flaky as I anticipated, but both were so tender, the mix-up wasn't a deal breaker. I don't know how they season the rice, but YUM! Even though I'm Asian, I'm not one who usually eats the rice. It's usually just a filler for me, & since I don't eat much, I'd rather eat the "other stuff" & usually leave most of the rice. Not here! I almost couldn't get enough of it, lol! So good!! At the end, we needed boxes. We had to ask two different waitresses since the first one we asked never came with them. It's an "order at the register then find a table" type of place, so there wasnt any "service" to speak of. Be prepared to stand in line - this place is popular for a reason! Parking is a challenge, but worth it. We definitely will be back!

I bought a big slab of bigeye tuna (4lbs), and some smaller (but still large) filets of ono and halibut (maybe 3 lbs each?), and 3 rock crabs (2 female,1 male -- loved that I could choose crab sex). Total cost of the fish was $76, and the crabs were $13. For that amount of fish, I think it's really great. I prepared the tuna as tataki and poke. I checked with the seller than the fish had been frozen on the fishing vessel to kill parasites so it was good to go. INSANELY delicious. If I were hosting a big party, I would absolutely go for a whole fish. The whole halibuts were about 7-14 lbs each (for $13/lb) and the whole tunas were about 20 lbs each (for $3/lb!!!) in Dec 2024.

The one thing I really expected from a Fisherman's Farmers Market would be lot's of fresh catch to choose from and unfortunately there isn't. There is ONE seafood vendor with a very limited selection. The positive is that they have live lobster for sale and there is a Chef right next to the seafood booth that will cook it up for you for $5. Thus the dinner and great views. Bad news is the Chef comes late and sets up slooooooow, so if you want dinner do not come before 4:30 (it closes at 6:00) so it will be a short visit. I will keep my eye on this market and re review it after it has gone through some growing pains. I really wish they had more vendors especially seafood, with so many fishing vessels that go out of there daily I would think they could get a few more to set up shop.

Really miss the old way things used to be. i'm gonna have to try tunaville or go back to point Loma. I also miss the old people they used to employ. But mostly it sucks that now you see fish out there when it shouldn't be out there anymore and just weird tail pieces left and it's not trimmed very well and there's not a lot of variety. Why go to the East Coast for Atlantic Farmed Salmon? Why keep weird pieces of the local fisherman's catch out there that make the whole thing seem like a bad deal?
