Great food. The Services counter service here. Which is fast Ambience is yacht style overlooking the boats. It's very relaxing here and very busy on a Sunday

It's not an everyday place to go only because I live in north county. If I lived closer I promise I'd be here every week. Love every thing about this place. Came here for Father's Day. I ordered the Alaskan Halibut plate and it did not disappoint. It was very fresh and flaky. We also had the fried shrimp, lobster roll, and side of fries. It takes a bit to get into the parking lot and then you have to wait in line to order but the line moves fast. They have good outdoor tables and a 2nd floor with a view of the boats and of the downtown skyline. Can't wait to go back.

Point Loma Seafoods has got it down. There's a daily special board that we ordered from.. one order was for the soft shell crab sandwich and green beans with mushrooms and parmesan cheese. the other order was for the halibut plate. all the food was excellent and the portions large. we had to walk it off for a couple hours the fresh fish looks amazing and we were allowed to bring our dog inside. all the tables were occupied if that says anything. the counter servers are friendly. enjoying well prepared seafood at the landing area is a welcome lunch vibe. bring an extra layer if you're easily chilled. the breeze was nonstop.

Wednesday lunch and it was moderately busy with plenty of indoor seating. I was thinking sushi but there was a special on Soft Shell Crab Roll There was a lot Cole Slaw topping the roll but there was ample crab too. My order took a long time and my two friends were about done when my number was called? They also forgot my fries. They verified my order and apologized and I waited a bit longer for my fries. Lunch was good but I only ate half my sandwich so my friends didn't have to wait for me to finish. I like to come back to try their Candied Salmon.

Delicious sea to table fresh fish served at this hidden gem. My go to meal is the fried fish sandwich. A big cut of fresh cod fried in between two soft sourdough slices of bread. Delicious! Parking is free, get here before the dinn or lunch rush.

Always a fan favorite!!! I love the shrimp sandwiches. So good. I'm not a big fan of tartar sauce but I have to tell you, they have the best. I also love that they have a fresh fish counter, sushi counter, and grocery items along with a huge selection of wines If you haven't tried this place, you are missing out. It's always busy, parking is a challenge but they always have a parking lot person to help with that. Tons of indoor & outdoor seating. And with the best weather, outdoor seating is the way to go. They have restrooms in the back and drink stations for self serve. Don't let the busy restaurant stop you from coming here. It's the Very very Best. Lots of options available.

Food was good and very fresh! Unfortunately the cashier took my order wrong and got fries instead of Cole slaw and shrimp instead of fish. He also forgot my clam chowder! Pigeons outside are a menace...trying to eat your food and doing pigeon poo every where! Clean your table and seats!

I hadn't been here for a while to be honest with you, I was craving fish and chips and I never had it here before so I tried it, it's $19.95 and you get four pieces of fish, the fish was actually good I'm not gonna say it was bad at all, but the fries were really bad like probably the worst fries I've ever had and the coleslaw didn't taste good either,. I instantly regretted paying that much for it, I didn't complain to them or anything, in my head I just justified it like alright four pieces of fish five bucks each whatever, but if you're paying $20 for that meal you're gonna be disappointed trust me, if you do try it let me know or tag me or write a review so I know if maybe it was just a one off, service was great though.

Not a fan of fried seafood and they have a lot of it - my go to is the crab cakes - flavorful (but pan fried) enjoy this gem in San Diego - not every town has this luxury. The line moves fast don't worry !

    Plastic found in salad
    Jared V.

I've been here many times and usually order the tuna salad sandwich, which I've always enjoyed. This visit, I was accidentally given the tuna salad instead of the sandwich. I didn't realize the mistake until I got home, and I completely understand that honest mix-ups can happen, especially during busy hours. Unfortunately, after a couple bites, I found a fairly large piece of plastic in the food. That was really disappointing and honestly pretty concerning. I've had good experiences here in the past, so I'm hoping this was just an off day, but I did want to share my experience.

The best! No need to order online when i can get it locally same day whenever I want

I came in because i got a craving for their candied salmon. It's pricey but one of my favorite snacks in willing to splurge on. I also decided to try a fish filet as the grouper was staring back at me looking really fresh. I cooked it tonight and it was soooo good!! Service wise the people here are always super nice, helpful, and efficient. And you can never go wrong with eating at this location. The waters are always peaceful and beautiful and i enjoy seeing the boats go out sometimes.

It's been awhile since I've been here but everything still tastes fresh and delicious . We ordered the Dungeness crab sandwich, the spicy yellowtail sandwich, fish and chips, the combo plate ( 2 fish, 1 crab cake, 2 shrimps) and the shrimp plate. Everything was delicious as I remembered. Only thing i would say is that they could have added more crab in the Dungeness crab sandwich since it was $26. Although you can taste the sweet crab meat flavor, not sure I'd get that again cuz it's not worth the price. My favorite was the spicy yellowtail sandwich. I asked the cashier what was her favorite sandwich and that's what she recommended. It was spicy but very good and the yellowtail was moist. You can't go wrong with the fish and chips. The cod is meaty and batter is perfect. Long line but it goes fast. There's seating inside downstairs but we like to sit upstairs patio where we get the view of the boats in the water.

    Caesar Salad with ahi tuna
    Adrianna S.

This is a pretty good spot to get some seafood and enjoy the beautiful view of the marina. We grabbed a table upstairs and had an amazing view at sunset. The food is pretty good. There are lots of fried options. I wish they had some more that were not fried. But I tried the Caesar salad with Ahi and the shrimp cocktail. Both were delicious. They also had affordable wine options that you could drink there or take to go. You walk up and order at the counter. And then they call your number when your order is ready. Everyone was very friendly there.

Ask the Community - Point Loma Seafoods

    Is this place dog friendly?

Yup. Seen many at outside tables while there

Do u have the abalone sandwich w/chips?

Never have seen an abalone sandwich ever on their menu.

I am a fan of the crab sandwich, but now I can't eat gluten. ☹️ Are there GF crab options besides the salad and cocktail? Which has more crab meat: the salad or the cocktail?

Buy it from the case and the world is your oyster...bring things from home. $59.95/LB right now

Can an order be called in so its ready for pick up? Or can you only order at counter once there?

You can call in an order!

Can you buy the sourdough bread by the loaf?

Yes. Sometimes offer the day old version sliced...lucky you. Or the round loaf is almost always available. Half baked too. Dinner rolls are sourdough as well

How are the crowds on a Friday night at about 5:00? I know lunches are busy but we've never tried an early dinner.

You are looking at 1-2 hour wait times. It's best to order in advance and skip the wait times.

    Is the place dog friendly?

There's outdoor seating, so your pup can be next to you when you dine.

How long is a typical wait friday lunchtime?

    5 Minutes

    Do they have smoked marlin?

    Don't know. Call them

Can one order their crab sandwich without mayo here? Do they put mayo into the crab filling itself?

Yes! The sandwich is pieces of lump crab meat and they put their tartar sauce onto the sourdough so just ask them not to put the sauce

She didn't make us feel rushed despite the growing line behind us (we were truly trying to hurry, though, because of it). If you like sashimi, get their sashimi appetizer! We haven't been able to find a good place for sashimi since we moved to Southern California 5 years ago. Don't get me wrong, we've gotten good sashimi, but not cut thick & with good quality that is worth the price like this place. The price wasn't even as high as many of the other sashimi places we've tried! They give you only 2 fish choices on the plate, however. They have listed about 5 or 6 different kinds, but it depends on what is available. We had salmon & tuna. Salmon is my favorite, but their tuna was fantastic! First time I can say I may have liked it better than the salmon!! Their other dishes we had were also yummy. My daughter loves scallops & they were cooked to perfection. I don't usually like scallops because most places cook them till they're rubbery. Not this place! My husband had swordfish & I had the sea bass. Both were also delicious, but I think they may have mixed up which plate went to which person. Good thing, as we were trying each others' food, my daughter noted the slight texture difference between the two (I hadn't had a chance to taste them yet). Interestingly, swordfish usually has a vastly different texture than bass, but here, they cook it so well, there wasn't a huge amount of difference! That says something since swordfish is usually very "meaty." If my daughter hadn't noticed, I wouldn't have complained even though I was looking forward to the bass. I like flakier fish. However, the bass wasn't as flaky as I anticipated, but both were so tender, the mix-up wasn't a deal breaker. I don't know how they season the rice, but YUM! Even though I'm Asian, I'm not one who usually eats the rice. It's usually just a filler for me, & since I don't eat much, I'd rather eat the "other stuff" & usually leave most of the rice. Not here! I almost couldn't get enough of it, lol! So good!! At the end, we needed boxes. We had to ask two different waitresses since the first one we asked never came with them. It's an "order at the register then find a table" type of place, so there wasnt any "service" to speak of. Be prepared to stand in line - this place is popular for a reason! Parking is a challenge, but worth it. We definitely will be back!
