I'd been curious and wanting to come here for years. I stopped by for a weekday lunch. The place is casually decorated with even a picture of a young Queen Elizabeth. The waitress was very friendly, served me a beer, and quickly brought my lunch out. I got the bangers and mash which was very savory but on the bland side (typical for British food).

An English pub in a strip mall in Folsom. There seemed to be several fish n chips ordered as that is a typical dish at an English pub. Appeared to be a very regular spot for folks sitting at the bar. A little "Cheers" like atmosphere. Service seemed a bit slow. Had pattie melts which were tasty. A little pricey. No waitresses. Have to order at the bar.Pool table & darts.

I really like to support local restaurants and service was very nice but the food was not there. My order was $37 with a scotch egg and a large fish and chips. The fish and chips had 1 piece of fish with absolutely no flavor and soggy, where is that crunch? And no seasoning on the fries either, and the scotch egg.... over cooked and dry with no seasoning. Whoever the cook is seams like he's not the type that should be doing this. I'd expect food like this for $17

Came in for a drink and to catch the end of a playoff game and this place was pretty awesome. I ordered a Margarita and an old fashioned. The bartender was friendly and the service was quick. I would say it's more of a bar than a restaurant. The food coming out looked just ok but during happy hour but the prices are good so I'm neutral here. The atmosphere was definitely Irish/English pub but had a dive bar feel would also say stick to beer, shots, or whisky cocktails, the margarita wasn't great.

Traditional English pub with traditional food, friendly bar/counter service (no waitstaff). There are lots of TVs for watching soccer games or other sports. Bartender was friendly and managing the entire place during Championship League final game on a Saturday afternoon. Good selection of beers on tap. Chicken tenders were generous portion of chicken breast breaded with British style chips which are similar to big chunky steak fries.

Fun atmosphere if you're a Vikings fan! Service staff is small but they sure do a great job getting orders and drinks out quickly!

It seems to be run like a counter-service fast-food place. First, it was confusing how to get a table. (Seat yourself). Second, it was confusing how to get a menu. (Ask at the bar.) Third, it was confusing how to order. (Order at the bar). So basically, they do not have wait staff here, just bartenders. The food was fine. Basic pub food. I did enjoy the old English style of food and menu items. I had the Shepherd's Pie. It was great. They do have some dart boards setup if you want to play darts.

We decided to try friends. When we walked in, it was completely empty. One table inside had two people seated and one table outside had two people there. We sat on patio, it is quiet and nice to feel like you are in the woods with trees and foliage all around.. Nice and peaceful. The tables looked like the "old" Benihana type of tables with the grill pan in the middle. They looked dirty but it I think they are just dated. Not a problem for us as we tend to like "hole in the wall" type places and that is the vibe this place gives. Our waitress was nice just seemed shy. Music genre was oldies. We ordered a jalapeño burger and the grilled chicken club sandwich. The jalapeño burger was supposed to be 1/2 lb Angus beef. It did have good flavor and cooked right, but it was a very small burger. Hubby felt that it couldn't be 1/2lb. For the price it was just too small. $18. The grilled chicken avacado club sandwich had one slice of bacon on it, not a deal breaker but the chicken wasn't grilled. Not sure how it was cooked, but not on a grill. It had a lot of seasoning on it and yet the sandwich was underwhelming. The produce seemed like it was yesterday's produce. The fries were also just ok. Didn't seem like there was any salt. They did sprinkle some chopped cilantro on top which looked nice. Overall we did enjoy the patio and peacefulness of our lunch there, and we do hope to see some improvements in quality and maybe better portion sizes for the cost. We will give it a shot another time, maybe dinner time when they are a little busier.

This was actually the first time I visited the entire downtown Roseville area, and I was pleasantly surprised there was a parking garage since all the parking spots in front of the establishment were occupied. After a few minutes mulling over what to get, I ended up getting the French Dip with duck fat fries. I also tried their Divinity Stout. Wow. The food - Amazing! Really enjoyed the French Dip - well sized portion and ended up having leftovers that I was able to enjoy a few hours later ha! The Stout (Divinity) - I need to go back and buy some bottles to go. So good! I'll definitely be back. The one minor gripe was I observed was there weren't any TV's at the bar (from what I can see anyway). The bartender decided to not talk to me for 15 minutes at least. I watched him slowly make somebody else's drink, leave the bar and just go chitchat with people that were already there drinking beer and having food and then disappearing into the kitchen. So rude. After a friend introduced me to their menu, I started occasionally getting a craving for their corned beef tacos. You have to add bacon and jalapeños, though! Today, during my tattoo session, we took a lunch break and I came over to the Boxing Donkey. I've been wanting to try their version of fish & chips ever since my daughter ordered them years ago. Plus, I needed something not quite as filling as my beloved corned beef tacos. So, I ordered the fish & chips and their Donkey Pretzel Balls with homemade mustard aioli. While I waited, I went with a hazy beer that I can't remember the name of because it wasn't my usual go-to. The Donkey Pretzel Balls arrived first. I was looking forward to dipping those soft pretzel balls into their mustard aioli... but unfortunately, I wasn't a fan. There was something about the pretzels themselves that tasted a little burnt to me. Kendall, the bartender, offered to remake them. She mentioned that's just how they taste, but offered to bake them a little less to see if that would tone it down. Unfortunately, I still picked up that same flavor. The fish & chips, on the other hand, were fantastic! Crispy batter, juicy cod... and the batter was seasoned perfectly. I loved the sprinkle of sea salt and dill on top of the fish, and it came loaded with tons of their hand-cut Donkey fries. At that point, I decided to leave the pretzel balls alone and focus on my fish & chips. Over the years, I've tried a few things from their menu, and I highly recommend the fish & chips and, of course, the corned beef tacos. I personally wouldn't order the Donkey Pretzel Balls again, although that homemade mustard aioli was delicious. They just had a flavor that wasn't for me.

Since I…read moredon't live nearby, I turned to Yelp and started calling places close to the mortuary where our family would be gathering. Pain Killers was the third place on my list. My first call went unanswered, and there wasn't an answering service. On my second call, I was able to leave a voicemail. When I called Pain Killers, a kind woman answered within two rings. I explained that I was looking for a venue to host a memorial gathering. She let me know that the person who could best assist me wasn't available but offered to take my number and have them return my call. Within 30 minutes, Austin called me back. We discussed what we were looking for, and as you can imagine, it's not an easy conversation to have with someone you've never met. From the very beginning, Austin's kindness and compassion stood out. His exact words were, "We want to be here for you during this difficult time." Those weren't just words--I could genuinely feel his sincerity, not only during that phone call but in every text message we exchanged over the following week. Each time I reached out, I'd say, "Ok, Austin, last question," only to think of another one shortly afterward. No matter how many times I contacted him, he remained patient, understanding, and accommodating. He answered every question, responded promptly, and never once made me feel like I was asking too much. In the end, it was decided to keep the entire day's gathering at a church rather than the mortuary, so we didn't end up going to Pain Killers. Even so, I wanted to recognize Austin for the exceptional level of customer service and genuine compassion he showed during one of the most difficult times. The next time I'm in the Rocklin area, I plan to stop by, say hello to Austin, and make sure to give Pain Killers some well-deserved business. Thank you, Austin, for reminding me that kindness and empathy still go a long way.
