We made an impromptu stop looking for something new, and were immediately welcomed into a dark, cozy pub setting with multiple screens showing the Vikings vs. Seahawks game. The place had a strong Vikings fan presence--plus one lone bartender proudly sporting a Seahawks jersey. I ordered the special grilled cheese with bacon and skinny fries, and it was fantastic. My husband had the pub burger with the oat bun and their amazing steak-cut fries. We also tried a cider and a Cali Squeeze--both great choices. The atmosphere was amazing, the food was delicious, and the service was warm and friendly. We'll definitely be back, especially because the fish and chips looked incredible. As the former Prime Minister, Winston Churchill (during WWII) of the United Kingdom would say, "Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts." With that said, I am a sucker for a good British pub as I've always been a fan of the atmosphere that goes with it; lots of beer choices and of course, British food! This includes fish & chips, bangers & mash, Scotch eggs, Shepherd's pie, and much more. This takes me to the heart of Folsom where I had the chance to check out "Churchill Arms Pub". Located directly on East Bidwell St and in between Glenn Dr/Wales Dr in a very commercialized part of Folsom, this very popular pub has been in operation dating back to mid-2012. Prior to that, it was still a British pub but under a different name, Streets of London. And if you want me to go back even further, this is where a Denny's once stood for many years. During the times I have been here, parking has never been an issue as the primary businesses are a Dollar Tree and a McDonald's. Since it has been a few years, I figured why not give this place a try to relive some old memories. First of all, the interior is fairly dated but that adds to some of the rustic charm of the place. Don't expect shiny or upscale counters as this place has straight bar vibes. Here you will get that aroma of stale beer and a hint of some comfort food traveling through the vents. However, the bar area is quite spacious (with at least a dozen barstools). Additionally, they offer a lot of tables for actual dining as well as a billiards table, a dartboard, arcade machines, and a respectable amount of TV's for watching the games. The layout is quite typical of what you'd see at other sports bars/pubs/restaurants. As I previously mentioned, the menu is quite extensive as they carry a ton of British-inspired dishes. Additionally, they carry a nice variety of burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, soups, salads, appetizers, and kids meals. Beer selection is also quite extensive as is a huge assortment of spirts/hard liquor drinks. Since I had just eaten about an hour prior to arriving here, I was craving a refreshing cold beer. Therefore, I settled with their "Mango Wheat Ale" on tap which was a fairly reasonable $6.75 (as of mid-2026). My bartender was sweet and accommodating as was the vibe I got from the patrons that were enjoying their time there. I will say that my time here was well spent as I had thoroughly enjoyed my beer. However, the ambiance and atmosphere left a lot to be desired. Some of the negatives were several flies swarming throughout the inside of the building as well as it not being very sanitary. Some of the fixtures looked as if they hadn't been cleaned in years so I hope the back kitchen isn't as bad as the main area where customers sit. All in all, I would recommend coming here for the drinks but as for the cleanliness, the food might be a hit or miss. With that said and done, I am giving "Churchill Arms Pub" just an average three-star rating. read more

I really want to like this place, especially with how close I live to it, and have fond memories of it from my early 20s which were a decade ago. But the last couple times I've come in, the food has been meh quality, like scotch eggs served room temp and food being a solid "fine" while not memorable, but the beer has been unfortunately terrible. It's usually flat and tastes very off, like unclean lines or something going on. This is the only place I've been to where their Guinness tastes minty which...isn't supposed to be the case. Last summer, my partner ordered a draft beer and he watched the bartender (don't know her name) grab an already-poured pint from the fridge behind the bar, top it off with some draft, then serve it... my poor husband still drank it because he's the type that doesn't like to complain at restaurants or bars, and didn't tell me about what he saw until he was about halfway done with it. I then witnessed this myself in October 2025 the last time we went and I elected to swear off this place for the foreseeable future due to that. I'm sure the employees are nice and it seems to be a beloved place, but with how expensive food and beer is nowadays, I can't justify spending more money here until things improve. read more

Unfortunately management did not prepare for our group of 12 to 15 for lunch service. Yes, we had let them know a week ahead, so that they could prepare with extra staff. Only 1 waitress/bartender and 1cook. No bussing staff either. It took so long to get all meals out that one lady had to leave before getting her -salad-! Nothing cooked for it at all! Every order of the fried fish were so overcooked it was pathetic looking. Our waitress was really trying. Unfortunately she could not even keep up with water and tea refills. She had 2 or 3 other tables and those at the bar. We plan 1 1/2 hours for these lunches, and only half of us had been served by that time! read more

The food was terrible. The shepherds pie that was supposed to have gravy inside was just full of oil because the gravy had separated, and the mashed potatoes on top were very bland. The scotch eggs were dry and overcooked, and the eggs were so small, I'm not even sure how anyone could find eggs that small, and they didn't even really look like real eggs. I checked the reviews before I went in the first time a few years ago and there were rave reviews about the scotch eggs. They were terrible then. But I thought, maybe I just went in on an off day, so I gave it another shot. It's not changed. Even the beer didn't taste right. But in their defense, the service was great, kudos to your bartender, she was busy. Maybe go in for drinks, but I would skip the food. read more

I really like to support local restaurants and service was very nice but the food was not there. My order was $37 with a scotch egg and a large fish and chips. The fish and chips had 1 piece of fish with absolutely no flavor and soggy, where is that crunch? And no seasoning on the fries either, and the scotch egg.... over cooked and dry with no seasoning. Whoever the cook is seams like he's not the type that should be doing this. I'd expect food like this for $17 read more

Came in for a drink and to catch the end of a playoff game and this place was pretty awesome. I ordered a Margarita and an old fashioned. The bartender was friendly and the service was quick. I would say it's more of a bar than a restaurant. The food coming out looked just ok but during happy hour but the prices are good so I'm neutral here. The atmosphere was definitely Irish/English pub but had a dive bar feel would also say stick to beer, shots, or whisky cocktails, the margarita wasn't great. read more

Unfortunately, the blonde bartender seemed to be determined to not serve us after we sat at the far end of the bar. We had passed her on the way in and she had said hello, to which we kindly responded, so I knew she was aware we were there. It was a slow Sunday, early afternoon, with maybe 10 other patrons either sitting at the bar or tables. I kept an an eye on her so I could give her "the nod" to let her know we were ready to order, but she was actively avoiding looking in our direction. After about 15-minutes of watching her listlessly find random other things to do, she began bussing tables outside of the bar, and that's when we knew it was a lost cause. We left without ever getting a chance to order. It's a shame because we've never had this experience with other bartenders at this estabilishment and I don't see us returning with the question of whether or not we'll get service. Don't listen to the negative reviews, this place is great! First time coming here, and I was very impressed with the authentic pub vibe, friendly bartenders and awesome food! Started with the fresh chips(fries) + toppings. They came out hot and piled with bacon, onions, jalapenos, cheese and sour cream! $10 Then we gave the Reuben and Shepard's pie a try. Both were delicious, fresh, and high quality! I've always thought Shepard's pie was bland at other restaurants, but this one was flavorful and piping hot! The Reuben was also filled with a generous amount of pastrami, sauerkraut and swiss cheese. Even with the low-key, seat yourself and order at the bar, pub style vibe this place has, our bartender John was so friendly and attentive! He made our experience great with his warm smile and frequent check-ins! They also have a unique happy hour M-F from 3-7pm (yes 7pm!). We will be coming back real soon to check that out! One of the best, if not the best in town. The food is great . The weekly specials are a great addition. The service is the probably the best ever. Trivia Tuesdays are great. This is a great British style pub in Folsom. The vibe and crowd are good and it definitely has the feel of a British bar. Good selection of beer and decent food options. I appreciate the large Tv screens especially when watching soccer. But the best part are the employees - the two bartenders I'm most familiar with are Janson and Nickie and they are both great. I hope they bring back the Sunday night karaoke with Armando as that was a lot of fun! read more

We stopped by here on Superbowl Sunday (2021) after a hike with friends because they allowed dogs on the patio. Between the 4 of us, there were 4 dogs also. Good for us, this particular day, we had the patio to ourselves and that's nice because I don't want our dogs trying to snag a bite of someone' burger, lol. We ordered: Mozz sticks Zucchini bites Ginger Ale Food was quite yummy for deep fried goodness. Drinks are good. We didn't have any alcohol this time. I do love a good British pub! I'll start by saying great staff, great atmosphere. However, I'm struggling to see what is British about Churchill's... I was in there March 2022. No British ales, on tap, or in cans... the font inside is the bar is Irish/Celtic font... Winston Churchill was hated by the Irish, and he wasn't a fan of them either. As a Brit, I was excited to have a British beer... I had a American Fresh Squeeze instead. Also, Shepards pie is an Irish dish, made with ground lamb. Cottage Pie is a British dish made with ground beef. I still had a good time, and would go back, but it's not a British bar in anyway. Amazon sell British pub snacks, that would be a nice feature... washed now with a British ale. read more

Well, tonight was a lesson in futility as we attempted to get together for Guy Fawkes Night at this establishment. We had a group of 10 with great anticipation of enjoying a night celebrating this infamous event in the UK. Obviously a "British Pub" had no idea about this event. Calling in at 11:30 AM to make sure they knew our group was coming, I was informed they do not take reservations and they will let the kitchen know (?) As a first time patron, I had no idea how the system worked....order at the bar for drinks and food and wait forever to receive your meal/beer. (!!) Three people in line before me for food/beverage order ~ 25 minutes later I make it to the order taker, an overwhelmed gal who immediately informed me she was suffering from hiccups..! After taking my order, she gave me the wrong receipt for payment, While she straightened it out another guy stepped in front of me to order no less than 6 beverages and was immediately served...(??) My meal arrived ~ inedible.... overcooked fish and cold chips (fries) with no seasoning. No Napkin or utensils...no ketchup left in the bottle,,,,no salt and pepper in the condiment basket (had to forage from other tables to make my meal edible...!!) The noise level made it impossible to converse, but I understand that this is a sports bar. Apparently dogs are welcome and we had a friendly one at the next table! I'm really disappointed with the nosedive in quality that the food has taken. I realize it's a pub, but the food used to be really good. Fish and chips were awesome before. Big flaky whitefish with nicely battered coating and great chips. Ordered the same tonight and first of all, ordered a large fish and chip and it came with one small piece of fish that is not the same as it was before. Clearly not freshly made. RUDE RUDE RUDE. WORST SERVICE. Went on a Sunday at noon. Folks watching World Cup and Vikings football (apparently a watching spot for Vikings nation). That's cool and I respect the camaraderie. We had no idea when we picked the place and like any good fan we were wearing our Cowboys gear. Some ribbing or fun poking would have been fine, but these people completely ignored us. We sat ourselves. Waited about 5 minutes as the bar was busy and once it calmed down, still no one acknowledged us. Wife went to the bar and both bartenders standing right in front of her would not acknowledge her. One of the Bartenders walked from behind the bar right past the table we were sitting. Wouldn't even look at me. I would have been better served by one of the staff saying, hey we are not serving Cowboy fans. No worries your restaurant, but to just ignore people is the epitome of Rudeness. Should also mention the table was dirty and sticky. read more

Good service as always. I've been a somewhat regular here with my friend. They have plenty of handles of beer to choose from. There is a full bar and you can order any drink. We always see jello shots on hand for those who like them. There is a pool table/darts. They're mac n cheese is bomb. Lots of tvs with sports on.
