Ma tax rate 6.25. Their 6.25% tax is close to 7% then they tax you again at about .75% ... Tax 1- wrong, Tax 2- illegal

There is a problem here, one large enough to ruin a good review. Really flavorful and fresh food ruined by two things. First is presentation & packaging, second is a double taxation & tax rate at a higher percent. Three options here for preparation, wrap, bowl, and nanini. Always get the bowl, unless you want a mess on your hands. They serve in foil in foil lined bags, however the foil lined bags are so small. They will take your wrap and wrap it so tightly that it bursts and you are left with what I like to call a wet diaper wrap. The nanini, which is a grilled folded over pita bread, is taken from its half circle presentation and folded into a square, where it leaks like a cheap diaper from all sides requiring a tray and a fork and knife, and unfortunately none of these are provided. Go with a bowl and a fork. The pretty pictures of the food being served in baskets is dine by chutneys themselves. Longwood galkeria doesn't have the facilities for reusable plastic baskets, so don't expect one. Trays seemingly don't exist anymore. Let's talk tax. Taxes suck, taxing more than one should, sucky, adding another tax on top of it, skimming and extra sucky. Check your reciept your tax listed at 6.25% is actually closer to 7%, then listed below that is tax2, what is tax2? Dunno, but it is an additional .75% Thus when all is said and done you are paying 7.75% in tax, a full 1.5% over what the law says. Chutneys...are you skimming? I think you are! This was supposed to be a 2 star review as man the food has flavor... However the review by U.D. annoys me further. It is obviously the owner, only reviews the two chutneys locations, only posts quick tips about chutneys, only checks in at chutneys. The photos he posted makes the food look delightful, the squished mess you get in reality, quite a juxtaposition. Now had you let well enough alone, had you decided to just let others review you, that would have been one thing, but instead I will ream you a new #$&@hole instead. Cmon, you posted pictures of the hot table from behind the counter. You weren't the sharpest tool in the shed were you... Let me guess, the sledgehammer?

The restaurant offers a beautiful ambiance and you're warmly greeted by their wonderful team as you walk in. The menu boasts unique speciality dishes that you won't find in most places. The owner, Manju, curated a blend of flavors for me to try that paired perfectly together. This truly elevated my experience. I enjoyed every dish here. I had a difficult two days, but being here at Ssaanjh was healing. I embraced my time here and look forward to coming back with family, friends, or even myself. Thank you to the lovely team here, keep on rocking!

The space is clean, stylish, and thoughtfully decorated, blending a chic Indian vibe with subtle Italian-inspired décor. It's a lovely setting, especially for date night or a more upscale dinner. That said, the food itself was... fine, but not standout. We spent about $60 on one appetizer, one shared entrée, and two pieces of naan, which feels a bit steep for what we got. I also left hungry. Highlights: The dahi puri was the star of the meal -- super refreshing, flavorful, and a perfect bite between richer dishes. The naan was well-seasoned, crisp on the outside, fluffy inside, and genuinely delicious. The butter chicken had a nice kick of spice but was otherwise surprisingly bland and lacked depth of flavor. If you've had a lot of Indian food (especially in the Cambridge area), this may fall a bit short. There are several nearby spots that offer more memorable flavors. If you're staying in or near Boston proper, Shanti in Dorchester and Sher-a-Punjab in Quincy are both stronger options. That said, Saanjh is very convenient for its location, which gives it an edge. Service: Service was quick, efficient, and genuinely warm. We had the pleasure of speaking with Saj (?) who was an absolute highlight of the experience. He was friendly, engaging, and went above and beyond -- even staying about 15 minutes past his break just to chat with us. He clearly cares about the guest experience and deserves serious recognition (and probably a raise!). Overall: Come here for the ambiance, service, and convenience. If exceptional Indian food is your top priority, there are better options nearby. Still, a pleasant experience overall, especially thanks to the great service.

Tonight, I added Momo Masala to that list. I was also fortunate to have friends who live nearby, and when I mentioned to them I was going (hopefully to invite them), they said it was one of their regular places for take-out. But they also informed me that they did not have a liquor license. But that recently changed!! They now offer beer, wine, cocktails, and whiskey pours - none of these are huge amounts, but there are certainly enough options for any of these. Our group of 4 did sample several cocktails. They aren't super fancy (though some drinks do have garnishes or salty/spiced rims), but everything is well crafted. Momos first, if course. They offer several varieties, but if you prefer yours steamed, read the menu carefully, as not all varieties are available steamed. We got vegetable and chicken momos, the chicken ones in a broth. Their medium level of spiciness provided a nice but not overwhelming kick. Our entrees continued the high quality. Their chicken tikka masala has a very dark and rich sauce, and the chicken chunks were tender. The lamb was equally good. The naan here (we got garlic) is very crisp, just the way I like it. This is a popular take-out spot, but there are enough tables to accommodate people who dine in conveniently, with a relaxing ambiance. This is another great add to the wide variety of dining options in Jamaica Plain.

It's a big, clean, open environment, but there were no guests on the inside when walking in. We came in around 12:30 so there should've been at least some people there - which usually is a telling sign. My dad ordered chicken over rice, and I ordered lamb in a wrap. The wrap wasn't a wrap as it wasn't folded in on the sides, but rather left as a roll up. Rice wasn't bad, but it was just more on the plain side. Things just tasted plain and not that flavorful. I don't wanna sauce to do that, I would much rather have the food presented itself as flavorful. The meat wasn't all that great texture, wise or flavor wise. Also, the bread that the rollup was for broke apart, and the taste was slightly subpar. I could've marked it as a 3 Star place. But in reality. I know I wouldn't be coming back here again. They did offer pizza which looked kinda unappetizing when seeing it. Between trying to incorporate Indian, Mediterranean, Pizza, ans Desserts, Boulangerie, and Fusion by inserting Halal into burritos - it's too much. Too much fusion, too American. Either be the dominant force of having it as a Indian American restaurant or go the dessert & pastry route way.

Otherwise, the service was incredibly slow and the restaurant had an oddly empty atmosphere with its wide amount of space. As for the food, it lacked authentic flavors of the cuisine, and felt bland/not cohesive. My favorite part of the meal were the fries and the veggie burger, but not any of their main offerings. I would skip it if I were you. There's way better Indian food in other parts of Boston.
