The restaurant is full of funky decor - and also people when I visited. We were put on a 10-15min wait, but it seemed organized with a texting system. Once we were seated we rec'd chips and salsa - wow - the salsa was spicy. I'm not sure if this changes day to day but it was extra hot. I had been to Chuy's before and knew they also offered the creamy jalapeno sauce for the chips. The server was more than happy to bring this and I enjoyed this with the chips. I went for the stacked enchiladas which was topped with a delicious verde sauce and served with rice and beans - large portion. All in all I enjoyed my meal - it did feel a little crowded. Not just because they were on a wait, but the overall placement of the tables and aisle seemed close to us. Am - I going back - yes ! This place was exactly what you'd expect from this type of restaurant, Southwest Tex-mex diner style food! Yumm!!! We got sat pretty quickly despite them always being relatively busy. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable especially our waitress, she was great! She knew everything about the food, what pairs well and so forth. She always kept our glasses full and checked in to make sure we were really enjoying everything. I love that type of genuine hospitable service! The food was also amazing! A little sad they didn't have the nacho bar open Sunday evening but we got a couple dips with our chips before our main courses. I'll post pics of those as well. Salsa & some type of ranch/spinach dip . Now the best part are yummy entrees. I got the bean and cheese burrito and it was pretty giant and filling. It also came with a sauce so I chose the Boom Boom sauce and it was a very delish spicy queso sauce. My mom got the CHUYchanga -their play on the popular food. My entree came with a big portion of southwest well cooked rice and a pico style salad. Everything was amazing! Hers came with charro beans ( a type of bean soup with veggies) & pico salad as well. They didn't ask us initially where we wanted to be seated. They only asked how many was in our party. They took us to a table right beside the kitchen and coke dispensary area. I went back to the hostess and asked to be seated either in a booth or outside. A fun place to eat with family and friends. A chain restaurant with lots of cute t-shirts and bright decor. This is Mexican food that pleases everyone. It is priced reasonably. A good place to pick of you do t want authentic. The salsas are fresh and delightful. I do not enjoy giving negative reviews but this place is not my type of place. I have been surprised by all the high reviews and do not understand them. Yes, the portions are big but all the food looks the same. Every dish is covered in some sort of sauce and all the ingredients mixed together. It is difficult to tell them apart. I have been to the original in Austin and it is wonderful. Here in Indy it is just adequate and there are better options in my opinion. Tables are close together and the vibe is loud. You can literally hear every word being said at your neighbors table. I love Chuy's and got to experience it before they opened their Indy locations mostly on my travels to the Houston area. Food is consistent and Tex mex delicious. I LOVE the happy hour nacho bar but alas in the time of COVID it's on hold. I really hope it will come back after things get back to normal! I'd give another star if it was not for the sloppy "table cleaning/bussing table" and the trash that was deposited nearby my table. Just wanting to point out that details matter and who wants to look at this while eating? Went to Chuys today ordered a beef taco salad. It stated in the description it came in a fried shell. Well it came in a bowl with what lettuce and spinach they could find in the kitchen has a dob of cheese dob of guacamole and sliced shedded chips and some ground beef plus they raised the price. I love that a Chuy's has opened up on this side of town. I went to college in Austin, so it's like bringing me back home. I've been 4 times now and keep meaning to do a review, but haven't had the chance. I have tried something different every time and enjoyed it every time. The salsa is spicy, particularly for this part of the country, which I love. Today I had the taco salad which was good, but I think would have been better with some beans in it. The chip bowl was tasty. In the past I've also had the chuychanga, the combo with a chalupa, enchilada, and taco, and the combo with the chitty chitty bang bang enchilada and a chile relleno. All delicious, and I'll probably keep exploring the menu to change it up. I've found if you show up for lunch around 11, it's pretty empty, which means immediate table available. But it gets very busy around 12, so best to get there early. Update: Wanted to update to show how well Chuy's is doing during this COVID-19 pandemic. They are running a limited menu, but have curbside checkout so you don't have to get out of the car. This is a restaurant we want to keep around. read more

I experienced excellent service and good food. The guac was fresh and tasty. Chip were thin and crispy and abundant! They brought two sauces to the table as well - salsa and a ranch type. The ranch nearly ruined my taste buds it was so hot. Beware before you dive in. I got fajitas and the portion was huge. The limeade beverage was a fun and boozy drink that was very enjoyable. I was able to attend the YES event at the Noblesville location my first time eating at Chuy's! We got to sample a steak burrito and i fell in love . Right when the pandemic heated up i decided to treat myself as i'm on a diet and wanted mexican. I was actually nervous since it was a different location. I called ahead to order and ended up calling back to add on. The person I spoke with was friendly and understanding! When i arrived i was greeted by 2 ppl and told them I had a pickup! It was already ready and bagged. We ended up chatting from a distance for a bit they were both so nice! (I think the woman was the gm). I do think Chuy's is a bit on the pricier end of Tex Mex restaurants but the entree size is worth that. I don't think the size 4oz and price of sauces like queso or salsa is. I had passed this restaurant a lot but never had the urge to stop in. Our work team went to lunch here today so I finally got the chance to try it. I didn't know what to expect of this place since I had never heard of it before. I loved the decor. The bright and out of the box decorations. It was very festive. We got seated immediately at lunch rush. As soon as you're seated, you get chips, salsa, and this ranch jalapeño mixture dip. They had a good sized menu full of yummy options. I ordered the appetizer platter because I wanted to try multiple things at once. It came with nacho bites, flautas, chicken quesadillas, and queso. It was all really good. The flautas were the best part in my opinion. Our service was good. The waitress was attentive to our drinks and checks. I really enjoyed my first visit to this Tex Mex chain. The place is bright and clean and there seemed to be plenty of parking in their own lot, but know that there is a target across the way with lots of additional parking if needed. Inside is bright and festive, but be sure you look where you're going if you head towards the bar. There are two small steps down. They are marked, but if you are looking around instead of where you're going, you may stumble. (I'm okay, but probably looked awkward.) Not sure why they didn't just level this room with the rest of the restaurant. Anyway, I sat at the bar and the bartender/waiter was very pleasant. I wasn't interested in alcohol, but I did find it odd to not see a list of what beverages they had to offer. It looks like they have a variety of margarita's chilling in the machines there. I ordered a steak burrito with the Tex Mex sauce instead of the hot green sauce. This sauce had a rich, almost bbq flavor that paired really well with the steak and cheese burrito. They throw a little bit of salsa and lettuce on the side that was good too. I forgot to mention that the chips are very thin and light, yet crisp. The salsa is a little watery, so be careful not to drip on your clothing. I also found the salsa to be hotter than most places. Lots of sauces chips and cheesy goodness, I was a fan of this Austin, Tex-Mex chain. I like how they make their tortillas daily. The soft pillowy tortilla was delicious with the chicken tortilla soup. The chick chicka boom boom enchilada was delicious as well. I like how they give you pico and salad with the enchas it adds a good crunch and freshness. We also went during their happy hour with the free nacho bar. Most of it was depleted, but we got to try some of their queso and bean mix. They also gave a free dessert for the birthday celebration of a friend. I would not hesitate coming here again. Went to the Michigan rd Chuys tonight for Easter dinner with my son. I normally love this restaurant. Tonight the waitress we had was horrible. She brought us wrong food 2x. Gave us all kinds of food we did not order. I never got what I ordered. My son finally got what he ordered. I'm not sure if the waitress was on some type of drugs. She had a problem with her leg so possibly on a prescription for that. I spoke with the manager on the way out and voiced my concerns. He gave me a coupon for 2 free meals. I appreciated that gesture of good will. I had already paid the bill before i spoke with him. Which the bill was not correct either. By that point i was so frustrated i was ready to lose it. I hate to get people in trouble but my son has autism. All the confusion was upsetting to him as well. Tried Chuy's for the first time on Oct. 12, 2019 and it was the best in Tex Mex! The service was excellent and the food was served up fast and fresh! I had a dinner called the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and it was fantastic! Their chips and salsa was on point and the salsa has just a bit of a kick but very tasty! They also have a jalapeño cream dip that's served along side of the regular salsa and chips and it's the best! I've never had it before but it's really really good and we were told all their dips and meals are made up fresh on site and the salsa dips can be purchased to take home. Their margaritas were very good as well. Chuy's is a great place to bring family or friends to hang out for a great meal. They have outdoor seating as well, and I'll be sure to take them up on that next season but until then, I'll be hitting this place on the regular. Conveniently located on Michigan Road in Carmel, you can do your shopping and then hit Chuy's before heading home. Also a word to the wise, the place gets crowed with people coming in around 4-4:30 for that dinner hour on Saturdays. Not a huge parking lot but additional space is available across the drive. February 1, 2020: Had my second visit to Chuy's and it was better than the first. This time I had the Chicken Tortilla Soup and it was out of this world! Great tasting and supremely fresh, which our waiter John said everything is made to order. Speaking of John, he's a slightly older guy with salt and pepper hair and light beard and this guy is off the chain. Great personality, witty, great jokes right off the top of his head and very attentive to his tables. We went out the door telling those waiting to be seated to ask for him as he's the best and they won't regret it. I'm so glad they opened this location I've been to several restaurants in other states. When hubby and I arrived they were pretty busy but in only took 15 minutes. We sat in the room looking out onto Michigan Road. The decor was fun the lights were colorful and there were hubcaps on the ceiling. When our waiter came I ordered the Chuy's Famous Rita. Hubby ordered Grand-pas Brew. Both were very good. The chips very thin and crispy you can just eat them so good but they give you salsa to me it was hot but good. Also you get Ranch Cilantro sauce very good. They walk around with large scoops full of chips and fill your basket. I got the Chuycanga the fried tortilla was flaky and stuffed with roasted chicken, cheese and cilantro green Chile's topped with sour cream. And the sauce I picked was the Deluxe Tomatillo. I didn't think I was a fan of Tex-Mex but after eating at Chuy's I realized I LOVE Tex-Mex! After viewing their menu and seeing the platters come out of kitchen I quickly realized just about EVERY Mexican restaurant I've eaten at could be considered Tex-Mex(smh). I've been to this location three times and they've been consistently impressing me with their customer service. I have a celiac so I'm unable to eat their queso. Our server took it upon himself to ask the kitchen for a version I could eat. He brought a sample out for me to try and I LOVED it! I never would have asked for a special cheese dip to be created. There is soo much to look at here! Every time I've visited I have been seated in a new area and discovered something new... on this visit I was seated in the bar area and noticed all the columns have framed photos of pets(dogs to be exact). I meant to ask why, but it slipped my mind and I've been thinking about it ever since! Haha... They offer complementary chips(fried in a separate fryer(gluten free); light and crisp, salsa(a lil' spicy but I loved that), and a creamy jalapeño ranch dip(on a chip it reminded me of cool ranch Doritos). I ordered the Panchos(Nachos). These were amazing!! Hands down some of the best nachos I've had. The chips are thicker than the complimentary nachos and a lot larger. I didn't confirm this but they appeared to be tostada shells cut in half. After devouring the complimentary chips and dips I was only able to eat three(not normal- I'm telling you these are larger than normal chips) nacho chips with toppings haha... My family and I rolled up to Chuy's at 9:45p and we felt terrible because they closed at 10p, but everyone was so welcoming and entertained us like the night was still young! My husband ordered a steak burrito and I ordered the special nachos (see photos). They gave us more than enough food and everything tasted great! I'm so glad there is finally a Chuy's 5mins away from home Update...I decided to take my daughter to Chuy's this evening since we had such a wonderful experience Sunday evening, but this time wasn't so great. There was a 40min wait (which was to be expected we came around dinner time). The food was good, but the waitress (Ana) was not so much. She didn't interact with us except to take our order, never checked on us during our visit until it was time to pay. Chuy's is a great place if you're looking for good Tex-Mex! I usually go once a week for their happy hour (4-7pm on all weekdays!) for their free nacho cart; they have drink specials everyday during this time too! During this visit, my waiter offered to give me a sample of the watermelon margarita because I couldn't decide. He was back quickly with this sample, and I ordered my drink. Unfortunately we had to wait a while for our drinks (our food even came out while we were waiting!) because the machine temporarily broke. When it was fixed, my first margarita came to the table very melted. I asked for another one, and my waiter happily brought me a new one. The drinks are nothing special, but just a good typical frozen margarita. I didn't order any food this time (cause I was so full from the nacho cart!), but their food is very reasonable for the portions, and it is always fresh. My go to order is the veggie enchiladas. I was attended to immediately by two friendly female bartenders. I ordered a regular margarita without salt and received chips/salsa right away. Chuy's added extra is a ranch cilantro dipping sauce, which wasn't bad. The house salsa is pico style, featuring more of a chunky vegetable cut rather than puréed, which I prefer. It had some decent heat to it, which I also enjoyed! Chips are thin, crispy and tasted very fresh. Not too salty, either. I ordered the veggie enchiladas with green chile rice and the charro beans. Added a scoop of guacamole on the side. It was a short wait until my food was presented to me...and I seriously was surprised at how fresh and tasty my meal turned out to be. Beans/rice were portioned well and spiced nicely. The enchiladas were the real star of the meal and featured a filling of peppers, summer squash, corn, onions and just enough cheese to pull it all together. I enjoyed the blue corn tortillas and it all tasted very fresh/light. Guacamole was also good, some restaurants add a filler which makes it more creamy with a strange texture, but Chuy's version was primarily avocado and much like how I enjoy my guacamole. I've never been to a Chuy's but had an awesome first time! This is close to my office so we came as a group lunch! The decor is wacky and fun and their chips are deliciously thin and salted. I am OBSESSED with the jalapeno ranch dipping sauce. I could actually pour it over anything and eat it. Salsa has a great kick to it! I typically get the trio of tacos because their tortillas are the bomb! Baja shrimp is my go-to for the tacos. They awesome have some awesome mixture of margaritas on the menu but since I was there during work hours, couldn't partake. Would love to bring friends here, even though it's a chain! Might have been the best shrimp tacos I've eaten...and I've eaten A LOT of shrimp tacos. A couple of my work colleagues and I decided to check out the new Chuy's in Michigan Rd for lunch. It just opened so it was packed but someone had grabbed our table ahead of time. The staff was super friendly and our waiter was thorough and attentive. They have awesome chips (made in house) and a variety of things to dip them in...we had the salsa, queso and a jalapeño ranch, all were delicious. They make the beans and tortillas in house as well and you can definitely tell. Everything was SO good. The breading on the shrimp was perfect and the jalapeño ranch complimented it so well. Table clean with silverware in individual serving seats sealed. Server was named James. He was prompt and friendly. I heard several people calling him by name so he has a following. Chips and two types of Sauces excellent. We ordered Queso delivered promptly as a appetizer. All three of us ordered three different meals all cooked to order, tasty and hot. James made sure are beer, margaritas and sweet teas were filled. It appeared they had a huge curbside pickup. I personally witnessed at least 20 orders going out door in the hour we were dining. My daughter went with the special enchiladas because she is a vegetarian (not many options for vegetarians) with the ranchero sauce; very good in her opinion but she wishes she went with a spicier sauce.
