Recently I have had some not so great experiences at this location which is why I decided to update my review. I came here a few weeks ago with my boyfriend and we came on a weekend night so we assumed it would be pretty busy. We came all little after 9pm, and were told the wait would be max 30mins?? So we waited outside for about 25 mins hoping we'd be seated soon...not so much. 35 mins later we were told by the hostess that it could be up to an hour wait time?! Not happening. If we would've known that, we would've gone to a neighboring restaurant. Obviously we were upset, yet the hostess didn't seem to be concerned, so we talked to the manager and they seated us within a couple minutes. The rest of our experience ran rather smoothly, however, I was not pleased with the hostess who clearly seemed to lack good customer service. But I wasn't going to let the one experience ruin my love of Chuys. Until I returned yet again and received the same lack luster service I had received on my previous visit. So this time my boyfriend and I decided to order to go. Called the order in, repeated it twice for clarification and arrived to pick it up in the time given by the server. Well, the order was wrong. Wayyyyy wrong. We got charged for food we did not order at a price double the original ticket price given on the phone. Absolutely ridiculous! So, of course the whole order had to be redone and an extra 15 mins added on to our wait time at that. So, to say that I'm pretty over this location is an understatement. I believe possibly there is new staff there or something, but I have never had any problems until the last 3 months or so. read more

Ended up at Chuy's while waiting for friends to arrive from the airport. We sat at the bar and immediately ordered some chips and guac. Guac was less than desirable and came from a tube from the looks of it. Come on, as a Mexican restaurant how hard is it to offer fresh guacamole! The chips tasted worse than from a bag in a supermarket and the tacos are less than "authentic". A huge positive that I will comment on is the bartender, Hector. Despite the horrible food, It really makes a difference when the service is above average. I went there to enjoy a nice meal with my family; after we got our drinks and got our orders in it was a lil bit of a wait which wasn't a problem at all I mean they have to be able to cook the food lol but then after the food came out we asked for a side of sour cream and didn't see her for the next 20 minutes by then another server came to our table with sour cream but we didn't even need it anymore bc we were already full. And then we ask for the manager and he was never brought we wanted refills and to go boxes but didn't get them till 15 mins later and our server didn't even bring them it was a nice lady working the bar! I strongly suggest not going here if you want to go to chuys go to literally any other one this isn't the first occasion where I have had bad quality service it's almost every time I go here! read more

This was my first time here as well as visiting Fort Worth, our server Crystal came two our table a total of two times in the almost hour visit we had. The second time I ask her about my food, since my boyfriend had received his at least 20 min ago. She told me I didn't order anything when I was the first to order. She seemed un phased and unprofessional in her response and customer skills. She tried to make up me not receiving my meal, by taking off our $50 bill a queso. Chuy's is always one of my favorite places to eat and I am so happy they are safely operating during COVID-19. I came here recently with my Bumble BFF and they followed social distancing and wearing masks. The fajita chicken quesadillas with green chiles are always my favorite and of course you can never forget the Creamy Jalapeno!! This is a great place for lunch. The food is reasonably priced and the servings are huge. My go to meal is either the steak fajita taco salad or the Wednesday carne guisada tacos. Christiana is a great server and remembers my order everytime. And Brandy, in the bar, is the absolute sweetest server in the entire establishment. Service is fast, even on crowded days. Been a big fan of Chuy's of all 3 locations for years. I went there today for lunch today after one year just to find out the quality of service was the poorest I have seen. I always eat baja tacos there and I love them. Today it was 2 grilled shrimp in awfully chopped red cabbage put in a flour tortilla. It was tasteless, no flavor and no garlic ranch sauce. Cabbage was chopped in huge chunks. I had a guest with me, so I couldn't say anything but it was the worst meal in a restaurant. No black beans due to covid, or cilantro lime rice. I can't figure out what's the correlation between covid and black beans. Anyway, will not go there again. It was BAD. read more

The perfect go-to and easy agreement when we can't decide on where to eat. We always sit at the bar and the female bartender who's usually there (I wish I can remember her name) is always on par with her service and smile. She'll go out of her way to make anyone's drinks even if she's not serving them. She goes above and beyond to provide good service no matter how much busier she is than the other bartender. And She always keeps our chips and salsa fresh and full. Of course the food never disappoints. But it's the service that I come back to. read more

Stopped in Texas to surprise my family. Also it was my uncles birthday & this is the place everyone decided to go for dinner. It was really busy during the time we went. The wait was about an hour or so so I figured this place must be really good with a wait that long. We all got impatient so we decided to sit outside. It was a hot summer day and we were kind of trying to avoid sitting outside but the wait was taking way too long. From the looks on the inside, it was very retro. They has a salsa bar that was sitting in a cut off truck of a car, I believe. I could be wrong! Service was quick here. I ordered their mini taco plate which literally comes with 1 mini taco. The Chuychanga (their take on a Chimichanga) is absolutely delirious and I always have leftovers for the next day. The margaritas are incredible and they have a wonderful happy hour on week days. Our waiter seemed disinterested in being our waiter and we were served by other staff members (including our drinks). No salad dressing and the ranch we asked for was delivered to another table. Hands down the best queso I have EVER had at a Mexican restaurant. I think we have found out go-to Mexican place here in Fort Worth. I love how you can choose different types of sauces to put on top or with your foods. There are different choices than the usual queso, sour cream sauce, or chili. They take those usual sauces and twist them into their own creations. MAKE SURE TO ASK FOR THE JALAPENO RANCH WITH YOUR CHIPS. We love variety when it comes to dipping. We have the salsa, jalapeno dip, and queso all lined up like a convener belt. It was delicious! I got the combination plate with a chili rellano and enchilada.. perfect! If you're looking to pickup to-go food, and you expect it to be similar to your restaurant (dine-in) experience, this is NOT the place to choose. We ordered food from this location & they packaged our food with LITTLE TO NO CARE, mushed the rice & beans together in the same container (who does that???), gave us 2 tiny 2 ounce cups for the salsa that goes with the entire bag of chips (which would maybe let you eat 4-6 chips), only gave us a 4 ounce cup of creamy jalapeño dip (then charged my husband $6 more when he asked for the same portion you get when you dine in). Then I called in to speak to the manager today 1/28/22 @ about 2:14 PM (to give them the chance to make it right), and she (the manager) basically said "I'll go talk to him, sorry about that." This place obviously takes NO PRIDE i what they do & don't care about the customer experience. Will not return to this location. Poorly managed. read more

It had been a while since I had been to Chuy's and my Dad wanted somewhere with a patio. Since I also had my niece and nephew in tow this was a good choice since they have a kids menu, coloring stuff and once we arrived there was a ton of other kids running about. This definitely wouldn't be my choice if we didn't have the kids with us. It's pretty standard tex mex. It reminds me of Don Pablo's or something similar where everything is run through a warming oven? The kids liked the food. My chicken enchiladas were tasty. The 'skinny' margarita I had tasted mostly like sour mix- I wouldn't get that again. They have a pretty decent happy hour so I would check them out for that- otherwise if you're not into kids environments head elsewhere. read more

Admittedly only really come here for happy hour because of the free loaded nachos. Docking two stars because of lack of cleanliness. This place smells, the chairs and tables are in bad condition, store looks dirty, and flatware is always stained/dirty looking despite assurance they are sanitized. I have no doubt they are, but this place could use a little facelift! The staff though is fantastic and fun and drinks are ok. Their chips are really thin and their salsa was more of a salty pico de gallo. I ordered a hatch chili sauce and it tasted like spicy stewed tomatoes. They have alright beans and mediocre rice. I have been to this Chuy's location many times during lunch and have never had a wait. While parking can be tricky, I appreciate that they have been quick to seat me, even with a larger group. While I have found much of their menu to be bland, there are quite a few menu items that are exceptional and everything I've tried has tasted bright and fresh. After eating at a couple Chuys locations throughout Texas and being madly in love with them, it pains me to have the one closest to my new home be the worst tasting of them all. When I go to Chuys I always order my favorite: the Big As Yo Face Beef Fajita burrito with a side of sour cream. Unfortunately, this time mine came out more like a giant been burrito. I almost thought they had taken my order wrong until I found tiny baby pieces of beef in the burrito. So much disappointment. It was like eating a pound of refried beans wrapped inside of a tortilla. Also our waitress forgot my side of sour cream and seemed to forget about our table situated upstairs so by the time she came back and asked how the food was, we were pretty much done. Their side of salad and tomatoes could really use some help too. I feel like they gave us an amount equivalent to what you find in a $1 taco from Taco Bell. The drinks were delicious yes but I fell victim to looking at pictures and believing that the $10.25 Grandaddy's Brew was bigger than the $8.50 Chuys brew. Turns out the only difference is the added small shot of Grand Marnier. Definitely not worth $2. The new Frozen Blackberry Marg was delicious though. 3 stars because the drinks and the boyfriend's food was good. Service and my food needs some work. read more

Went to Happy Hour with friends, most of them teachers as they were finishing up their first week of school. Had some great food and drinks. They have an excellent outdoor covered patio set up for a hot Texas summer day. Specifically, the Grandaddy's Brew was pretty amazing! Our waitress Dakota spent the perfect amount of time checking in on us and make sure our happy cups were filled at all times and very accommodating for special requests. It's one thing to have great food but it's something else to have great food AND service. Great place to come hang out after a long week of work and finish off the week. I felt weird going to this location for the first time because I still have a problem with the multiplication of this Austin institution. I first went a few weeks after the grand opening and sat at the bar for happy hour. There was a overabundance of waitstaff which pretty much annoyed me because every 60 seconds someone was checking on us. However, they do a good job of recreating the environment, drinks and food pretty well. I like that I can go there and get the same things I have eaten for years and they're pretty much the same. The wait for a table has never been really bad, but I haven't exactly gone at a "peak" time other than happy hour. I also think the patio would be great now that the weather's nice. You can't really beat their happy hour deal! Free nachos, salsa plus all the trimmings in their car trunk (beef, refried beans, veggies). I also love how they have all their marg flavors on their happy hour so you don't just have to stick with plain old lime flavor (don't get me wrong - I love lime, but I also love the ability to switch it up every once in a while!). This time I got a swirl of mango and strawberry - it was pretty sweet but it definitely hit the spot. First thing we noticed was the Fun atmosphere. We came here after going to a rodeo at the will Rogers center. It was getting late and kids were hungry and this was convenient. They were moist and tender and I was briefly jealous of her selection. My wife had tacos al carbon -beef. She thought they were fair, I tried the meat and I thought that it had good flavor. It was a smokey flavor but being a fan of smoked foods, I have the suspicion smokey flavor comes from a little bottle not from wood. Now for the neat cherry on top. Kids meals come with dessert for the kids. And they bring out blue bell sherbet push-up pops for them. My oldest declare this their new favorite restaurant. " way better than Abuelos". Goes to show you, that you can bribe a kid with ice cream. Since the kids got dessert we couldn't be left out, we ordered the Tres Leches cake. Let me tell you, if you are a fan of tres Leches and you are eating here, it would be acceptable for you to pass on the dinner and just get the cake. It is REALLY good. Now caution the serving size is absurdly large (which I'm a fan of so management please don't change this) but it is perfect for sharing. The only negative (which isn't that bad just a hassle for those not in the know) is parking. We initially parked in a lot across the street, saw signs up threatening to have cars towed, and since I didn't know if I was visiting a place served by that lot we asked when we came in, and I did have to go move car in fear of not having a car to return too. But they offer free valet. I hope to return when opportunity presents itself. read more

Came here with co-workers after work - the food is starndard chuys - delicious and what I would cal New Mexican style. Ordered an appetizer plate for the table and everything was good - a few of us had drinks and there were no complaints, although I did notice that no one ordered a second which is unusual. I had the Cosmic Combo which was delicious, and all other plates were good. I did find the service to be very lacking.... we were seated in the bar area with no silverware, napkins or menus - I went to the hostess and received one of each. It took forever for them to come offer water or take drinks orders and then midway through our meal they just started bumping us while they were setting up the happy hour bar - a simple excuse me would have worked wonders and we would have rearranged ourselves like we did after the first couple bumps once we figured out what was going on. Hot, windy Texas day. Sun soaked and thirsty. Beaten by the waves. Dropped, pushed and thrown around by the slides. The commotion of being "lazy" pushed me to the edge. I needed food and beverage ~ stat!!! Walking in, we had 4 or 5 choices on where we wanted to sit. Well hell, the patio was empty, we'll take that!! Seated immediately. YES! Water, chips, salsa and drink order within 5 minutes. YES! FOOD ~ Salsa was sooooo good! It tasted Fresh. Spicy. Strong Lime. Hint of salt. Perfect!! ~ Beans were a bit dry but the rice was lovely. ~ House Margaritas were average. Not great but not bad. Strong lime again. (I think they have a love affair with lime at this joint) ~ Entrees were decent sized and good. We really didn't have any complaints. SERVICE ~ Prompt. Friendly. Attentive. Didn't feel rushed. And didn't have to flag anyone down. I don't know if I was beaten down by the day. Or they were on top of their game. Either way, it was just what I needed.
