I ordered from the Frisco location today and was met with a surprise. As I was eating, I noticed something in the back of my throat didn't feel right. I initially thought it was a chip that I didn't chew completely and it had gotten lodged in the back of throat as I was also chewing on the beef which was tough. After trying to move it around, what I thought was a piece of chip, with my tongue to get it to come up, I eventually had to use my finger to move it. As I placed my finger in my mouth to get what was stuck, I was then met with what was a lengthy sized twisted piece of metal.....Hoowwwwww???!!!! So, it can only be imagined my fear and the possibility of what could've happened had it actually made its way down my throat. I immediately called the store and spoke with the manger who by the way was nice. I could tell he didn't know exactly what to do except provide me with a refund and offer for me to be contacted by their insurance. BUT, he did state that the metal was from the scrubbing tool used to clean the grill. Thankfully, I wasn't SERIOUSLY injured and THANKFULLY it wasn't my 2 year old eating with me and gotten it in his mouth. I returned to Chuy"s on a cold Wednesday night in February not expecting a crowd. I ended up circling the building twice to find a parking space. The restaurant was full and rather than wait I took an end seat at the bar. My wife was busy meeting a friend from work for dinner and I had a gift card with an unknown balance to use up. The food was great and the service outstanding. Lots of families here with little kids. A neat family place. So when you see some negative reviews, consider how popular it is this cold weekday night. Came here the night after my surgery looking for a special treat. Let's just say that's what I got on my fork... Wife and I came in around 5-ish in the evening, to then be greeted by the host and manager. My wife said a table for two; we were then proceeded to be sat. Having had surgery it wasn't really comfortable for me to be the "aisle" seat (a.k.a a table), like on an airplane. So I asked my wife, if she can ask her, if it's possible to get a booth. I watched as my wife walked over, and then walked back. The host then sat another table at a booth near us, right after we asked for one and got their first. As the host walked back to the host stand, my wife pointed to the table she wanted and got a delicate nod from the host that it's ok? I guess. In clear confusion if we were going to be seated there, or if it's ok, my wife and I walked over to it after waiting for the host to seat us there but never came. On the table was some leftover onions. Excuse my years in the food service industry, but isn't it the hosts job to make sure the guests are seated at a clean table with menus and silverware, and notify the server. Clearly she couldn't do that. Without knowing who our waiter was, we waited for a server to come by and hand us the basic items, food chips, salsa, etc.. and asked her to clean the table before we use it to eat. Everything was going ok, when we got our drinks and ordered our main meals. Once we got our meals, we proceeded to unwrap our utensils that are sealed inside a paper wrapping, ensuring customers these are cleaned thoroughly. As I unwrapped my utensils, it seems I was left a present that I touched. At the end of my fork was a nice pasty booger that was holding some hairs onto it. I told the server that there seems to be a booger that I touched from the "cleaned silverware" left by the person cleaning/hand drying the silverware. I proceeded to go to the bathroom as she took my silverware from me. It took about 4-5 minutes as I walked to the bathroom, scrubbed my hands, and got back to the table.. to find out I still need to wait for new silverware from my server. It seems there is no sense of urgency/priorities in this chuys. I tried eating my enchilada meal I ordered, but I was unable to get the mental image of an employee wiping their nose and then touching my silverware when they are supposed to be cleaning it... This is absolutely disgusting and I will never be back here. The people that work here are children and the manager doesn't seem to care as I didn't even get an apology or talked to by the manager checking up on us after the incidents. It's redeeming quality was the jalapaleno ranch sauce - outside of that, the chips were way too thin and soggy (oil), the food ranging from burrito/chimichanga/fajitas looked promising but tasted disappointing. La Hacienda Ranch remains the gold standard (they just had a kitchen fire in July 2021 so they were closed) and for the same price, zero reason why Chuy's should be on your list. read more

This Chuys is always like an episode of "Cheers" for me! Where everybody knows your name. Lol! I love Chuys and I especially love coming here. I have my favorite way of having my drink made and my tried and true menu items and I rarely stray! Double Tito's on ice in a short glass with 3-4 lime wedges on the side and a bottle of Topo Chico so "I" can play bartender at my table. Ha! The Mexi Cobb is killer I always get cheese in the side and use their famous chopped pico salsa as my dressing. And I usually drizzle some of that ridiculous jalapeño creamy ranch! Perfect if your working on that summer bod! Luke is officially our "Chuys Child"...haha! He's the best server and takes such good care of us! We really like Sasha the bartender and Emile too! We had a fairly good experience at Chuy's! There was a 20 minute wait on a Wednesday evening but we expected that based on previous reviews. Hostess was kind. Server kept us laughing and also checked on us frequently! Food was also good. No serious complaints or issues. Will definitely visit again :). I just witnessed the most disgusting lack of humanity by the management of Chuys. The couple in front of us had called ahead to make sure the patio was open, because the wife is going thru cancer treatments and can't be inside or around other people. The patio was closed when they arrived even though they were assured it was open. They just refused to serve them out there even though it is 1:40 pm and the place is nowhere near crowded. I'm sure one of their servers would have happily served them if asked. The manager refused and left it to the young hostess to explain to them. He didn't even come out. We tried to explain to them and were called rude too So sad this little old lady with cancer was craving Chuy's and actually had an appetite during treatment and was turned away I'll never be back to this location even though it's been a favorite place to eat. Edited to add: This was at the Frisco TX location on Preston road at 1:40 pm on 1/12/22. The man said he called earlier (and that they had done so before) so you can likely check the incoming call log that day to see who he was. If you can publish a corporate email I will send you my information. I'm not going to post it publicly But as a daughter who watched my dad die of prostate cancer and the effects of chemo on him and a volunteer with Susan G Komen I can truly say your manager, hostess and staff are pretty darn cold and uncaring and unsympathetic human beings. All I saw was a loving husband trying to enjoy what little time he had left with his wife who was going through who knows what with her cancer treatment. Chuys isn't an exceptional place but rather a safe fallback when all you want is TexMex for a fair price. Most Chuys we frequent (in Plano) satisfy that requirement. Yesterday we tried the new Chuys in Frisco and it was a MASSIVE letdown. First off the place is small compared to other restaurants with limited seating so even on a weekday evening there's a wait. Upon sitting the menu now appears to be highly cut down...lot of the weekly specials are gone!! So have a lot of the enchiladas! The chips we were served were uncooked and appeared stale. We ordered a couple of enchiladas (veggie and chicken)...both disappointed, especially the vegetable one which was watery and flavorless. We also ordered a burrito, which came out looking more like a limp and underfed burrito. Lastly the kids meal of quesadillas was terrible too. My daughter devours those but she left most of it on the plate. Her comment - "This is worse than cafeteria food"!! To top the experience off...as I looked down, I saw a small cockroach scurry across the floor. That was the warning for us to leave. The wait time to be seated with four adults and two children was trouble. Seven parties were seated before us after we came asked and were told we were first on the list. We had gotten drinks at the bar which we waited.
