Love coming here! Good place for fun atmosphere and good food. I've had a few items from the menu and so everything is delicious. Can't wait to go back and try something new. I've been with small groups and been seated pretty fast. With larger group wait may be longer keep in mind weekends are much busier if you do try do plan large groups for off hours. Some of the worst and most expensive "tex-mex" in Greenville! I absolutely hated the vibe but aside from that, we waited a really long time and all 4 of our meals were less than mediocre. With Asada, Local Taco, and Chicora Alley around for a tex-mex experience I really can't believe people go here more than once. We definitely won't be back. read more

Love the thinner tortilla chips and creamy jalapeño dip. Portions were huge. I love having choices in 2 types of rice and beans. My only disappointment was in the Baha Tacos (fish). It consisted of a wilted flour tortilla, dry red cabbage, and a fried fish strip. (Creamy jalapeño, tomatoes, and lettuce were on the side.) The taco looked sloppy and kind of an "after thought". First, let me say I grew up in Texas and have eaten at Chuy's in Austin. Having said that, this is not the same. I had a so called Tex Mex combo plate and my wife had an enchilada special with tomatillo sour cream sauce. The chips are some of the best I have ever had. The salsa is flavorful but watery. My enchilada had a bit of melted cheese on one end. The enchilada gravy had way too much chili powder. It seemed I was licking out of a spice jar. Real Tex Mex has a chili con carne, grated cheese and onion topping. The green chile rice was good and the refried beans were fair. I did like the crunchy beef taco alot. My wife's enchilada was very tasty, especially the sauce. Service was fair, but lax. Many of the waiters squatted down as the took the orders. All in all decent, but not great. There's over a 100 restaurants in town so it will be awhile before we come back. read more

This place was so yummy! The host staff, well they were very friendly. I had the nachos with fajita beef, as well as the chicken enchiladas. This may be the best place to get Mexican food in the area. Our waitress Sara was so wonderful. She made sure that we were well taken care of. If you want Tex-Mex go here. Asked to sit on patio, but they said no. No draft beer only overpriced bottles. Salsa was so spicy you choked when it hit your throat. The food was either bland or too spicy. My chuychanga tasted like grease or a fried item out of the frozen food section, and my husband's burrito was cold. My advice is skip this restaurant. read more

Weekly date night has become weekly Chuy's night. Best chips, salsa and creamy jalapeño dip (fantastic!). My favorite order is the Southwest Enchilada with Boom Boom sauce. Her favorite is the chicken fajitas. I recommend the Captain Chuy's White Sangria. The only negative is there is no beer on tap, bottle only. read more

OH PALEEEZE ... YUCK YUCK YUCK ... this place came recommended, so we tried it. my wife doesn't like re-fried beans, she asked the waitress, "Please please no re-fried beans on my plate" "Sure hon, no worries", guess what her plate came with re fried beans, and the waitress didn't even notice so when I said "Excuse me, my wife asked for no re-fried beans" She look at the plate and said "Oh well, they screwed up, do you want another plate" ARE YOU KIDDING ME ... anyway, no draft beer, my steak burrito was dry, and void of anything that looked like steak, so I got a flour tortilla with a little cheese, and gristle. My mouth was watering reading the menu, it must be from a different restaurant or they are very creative at word smithing. Imagine how surprised I was after 3-4 bites of dry paper. Usually I tell the manager, but in this case I didn't want a comp or free meal because I want to remember how terrible my first and only bad experience was. Everywhere else they at least add sour cream, the food was awful, and the drinks were very expensive $10 for Margarita is robbery. Someone wrote that the food compared to Taco Bell, nope, Taco Bell is better, and cheaper. And for those people that gave this place anything more that 2 stars ** wow you're standards are low. if you want good Mexican go to El Tejano's in Simpsonville or Sabrossa's on woodruff road, WE WILL NEVER GO BACK TO CHUY's. Off the start, the decor was tacky, the service was ok, the salsa was extremely salty. I got the Elvis Presley combo and it was covered in a thick gloppy sauce that overpowered every bite, the queso chips were ice cold and overall the food was horrible...plate presentation was great, but who really cares when the food is so bad! read more

I have Celiac disease (have to eat gluten free), & the manager came out to tell me everything I could eat. The chips are fried separately from everything else so they're completely safe, & she told me which sauces were gf, & if I wanted chicken to ask for it unmarinated. This was probably the one of the worst experiences I've had dining in a while. I was expecting a lot more from a Tex mex place like this, but it wasn't anything special. The menu was not unique or eye catching in any way, and the service was not good at all. Our server chandler was nice but he took a while to actually talk to us and only came over a handful of times. Being a sever myself I know The right and wrong things to do and he definitely needs to focus on how to handle tables better. When I got my steak burrito it was extremely spicy and I wasn't expecting that from a steak burrito, that's probably my fault for not reading the menu, but to be honest it was boring to look at. I was in town working at a conference and a group of 10 of us came in, no reservations, on a Saturday night. There was a short wait, we were seated faster then we were told, and our server was extremely attentive! The food was excellent!! Homemade tortillas ( you don't see that often), fresh chips and salsa were refilled several times, everyone's meals were fantastic! Being originally from Southern California, I don't often find good, authentic Mexican food! Above all I have to say the most impressive part of the whole evening with the exceptionally good service!! Our waiter, Chandler, was one of THE best servers I have had in a long time! I really hope the powers that be see this review so they know what a gem they have with this server! Potential for that place is great but none of that was showing on the day that we ate there. $8.50 house margarita and It had nothing but ice in it. $3.95 for a 12 ounce domestic beer on happy hour. We love going to Chuy's because we always are seated quickly and get great service. Every server we've had has been friendly and patient (we have two little ones.) The chips they bring while you wait are SO good - super thin and crispy! My favorite dish is the Baja Tacos with fried fish (or you can get them with shrimp.) The jalapeno ranch that comes on them is very addictive.... we always order a side to dip our chips in. The best part about Chuy's is they make their own tortillas! They have the tortilla station on display so you can see for yourself. You can't duplicate them with the premade kind. read more

Chuy's has a great atmosphere. The salsa is delicious and food portions are pretty large. We had a group of 7 for lunch and had to wait for about 25 minutes for a table. There is also an option for quicker seating near the bar, but the menu is limited to appetizers if I'm not mistaken. I'm looking forward to going back the next chance I get. read more

Very nice, very knowledgeable about the food, and hospitality skills are at the best. Good atmosphere and clean. Decided to try Chuy's tonight because it always seems packed. We were seated right away. The salsa did not look good, but tasted great. I got the fajitas and was satisfied, but my husband got the taco salad. He was expecting more than a lot of lettuce, a little bit of taco meat, and guacamole. The shell tasted good, but definitely not what he expected. The waitress walked by our table several times and only stopped to check on us once. The food had an ok flavor, definitely seasoned, but would have been nice to get a refill on our drinks. Waitress never offered, and to be honest she was not that friendly. When she dropped off the check we got a very formal "thank you". Probably won't be back, I could spend $30 somewhere else and at least feel like the waitress cared if I came back. read more

Always fun and delicious. Per the recommendation of my son in Austin, my husband had the Elvis. Yum. My mother and I each had the lite fare which was lite only when compared to the Elvis. This is our second time making the trip from Columbia to Greenville just to eat there and will be doing it again many more times. read more

The hostess was very rude. The air conditioning was on blast, so we asked for a table outside. The hostess dismissed us and said it would be a long wait. Her colleague corrected her and told us that there are outside tables available. So, it was obvious that hostess did not even bother to check! The food was a commercialized version of Mexican food, not even a good rendition of TexMex or Southwestern fare. Go to a real Mexican restaurant. There's plenty of them down the street. Fun funky interior design with fairly loud music and lots to keep your eyes busy on the walls and ceiling ! Had Cheese Chile Rellenos plate with Spanish rice and refritos .Chile's were coated with fried chicken type coating and were meaty and very delicious ! Wife had steak burito and it was huge , tender and delicious ! Nacho bar is great free appetizer ! Sauces offered are delicious but the flavors with 3 Chile's beside the are very spicy ....like way hot so be careful !
