I love Chuy's and this one did not disappoint! I was so excited to see this location was only 10 mins from where I was going to be living in Jax. We finally tried them out last week for dinner. Their chips are always so thin and crispy. I love the salsa here and their creamy jalapeño sauce. I ordered something new for dinner - the fajita beef burrito with boom-boom sauce. This was so, so good. The boom-boom sauce has such a nice little kick. I especially liked the refried beans in the burrito. This burrito is huge! I ended up taking half home for lunch the next day. I love coming here for a Tex mex meal! I sat at the bar and got in and out within like 30 minutes! Their complimentary chips and salsa are always fresh and the salsa is so unique compared to your typical Mexican style salsa! I got the 2 taco meal with ground beef and all rice(no beans). I love that the taco shells are made in house-they taste so fresh! And j love that the put the toppings on the side so you can add what you want! The best part about the bar is all of the dog photos! Wow. I know these are different times but if you want people to come back when some kind of normalcy happens, you have to at least try. What was one of our few gotos for chains left us completely underwhelmed tonight. The place was maybe 20% full and that's with the social distancing set up. Shawn our server seemed to be working hard but he was rarely seen. Maybe they're running a smaller crew covering more tables but it felt like the other tables in our section were getting much more attention. The only reason this wasn't one star tonight is because the steak in our burrito was still quite tasty. Portion size has drastically changed and I will defer to my son's taco pic that I'm posting. I think I've seen more meat in a dollar Taco Bell taco but it's been quite some time so maybe this is the standard now. Given this experience, we will probably scratch this off our "normal" list. First off we got here before happy hours was over, but the waitress disappeared for like 20 minutes then came back to take our order 5 minutes until happy hour ended. We placed our drink orders, they came out fast. The margaritas were so so, more on the sour side. I got the taco salad, bland and way under seasoned. Chicken was over cooked, I had to use a pot of salsa sauce to make it better. Our drinks were charged full priced, even though we ordered for during happy hour. 10/15/2020 Even with all the craziness of Covid-19 the restaurants have adapted and stayed opened. The tables are spaced, people wear mask coming and going, they disinfect when you leave and you can still meet and have a good meal! We were celebrating my birthday and I couldn't have been more pleased. We think the fajitas are the best...moist, tender and tasty good! With all the fixing...perfect! Enough for lunch tomorrow too! On our recent visit, it was very disappointing. We knew that the menu was limited due to the coronavirus so it wasn't the choices that were disappointing, it was the poor quality. I ordered the steak burrito which I have had on previous visits. The thing that they brought had no resemblance to the burrito I had received in the past. It looked like they threw some steak in a tortilla and folded it over. It was flat and dry. It was supposed to have a verde salsa over the top, but the very little sauce that was put over the burrito was almost black, as it was probably old. The chips that they brought us were not chips but broken pieces of chips. The cheese dip was really not that flavorful and was lumpy. We went to Chuy's for Happy Hour today after work! Their happy hour is pretty good! $2 off house margs, $1 off house wines, and $1 off domestic beers! There were a few other deals but those are the ones I remember. We had a nice round table for 6 of us and we had a great time. The service was good and the margs were perfect! The frozen margs were so refreshing and perfectly mixed. The chips and salsa were fresh! The jalapeño ranch is amazing! I recommend requesting some of that to dip the chips in. It's a life changer!! Came here for the ranch jalapeño dip as suggested by a friend. The dip did not disappoint. Our party also tried the panchos which were delicious. Not so easy to handle as they start to fall apart when you try to pick it up, but the flavor was on point. We also had the guacamole and asked for jalapeños to be added. They were very generous with the jalapeños. Crispy tacos were good but need spice in my opinion so if that's your preference, be sure to request hot sauce to give it a kick. The salsa was ok. I got the chuychanga and was immediately disappointed. The chicken inside tasted as if it were boiled and then overheated in the microwave. It was tough and stringy. It was also really bland. There were no spices or cheese or anything inside , it was just chicken. The service was ok. The guy was friendly, but not very attentive. Ordered catering for a work celebration and was highly disappointed in the amount of food for the price. We ordered the nacho bar for 15 people and added the extra queso and jalapeño dip. When I picked it up there was one larger container of meat and one small one. There is no way that will feed 15 people. I reached out to them to confirm I had the correct amount of food. They were very dismissive about the situation and said that's the amount our system says to use. I think your system needs to be looked into. I am attaching what we got for $200. I will not recommend them to anyone and will not use them again for events. read more

The chips and salsa are some of the best I've had, salsa is really fresh and a bit spicy which is perfect for me. We ordered the queso with ground beef which was also outstanding. The only thing I can complain about are the chicken flautas, the chicken is not in strips like it is traditionally presented in this dish but a paste that is too bland to be considered Tex mex, also they are not fried to crispy. We were in the mood for some tex mex and stopped at Chuy's. They are known for their famous jalapeño ranch dip which we wanted to try. The menu is simple and is only a single page front and back. There are a few choices for vegetarians. We ordered a combo platter and an enchilada platter. Both were great. The dip was tasty (ask for it when they bring you the complimentary chips and salsa). Our waitress was helpful and our food was prompt. The decor is funky and adds to the ambience. Highly recommend checking this place out. I like to come here for lunch sometimes. They have a non traditional version of a quesadilla that's pretty good. Their chips and salsa are also pretty bomb too. And if you're a drinker, you must get a margarita. Lastly the tres leches is what I come for. I will literally go just to order that. Be careful though the slice is huge. Food is was good( as always, but not great). Order the "chuys brew" as I often do, but this one came half empty and tasted odd. LOUSY! Lousy, inattentive service accentuated by a waitress who got half our orders wrong, leaving kids waiting 40 minutes for their food. Lousy food prep by serving the wrong food and lukewarm food. All of this on a Saturday night with almost nobody in the restaurant. When we went to pay the bill (the QR code was not working), two waitresses looked like deer in the headlights when I asked to pay with a credit card! One told me "you need to pay." Oh, ya think??? Very disappointed in the ToGo order today. We ordered Steak and Shrimp Fajitas, Steak Burrito and Chicken Fajita Burrito. I realized there was no shrimp add on the online order so I called it in. I also asked if we could get lots of chips and at least two cups of the salsa. I was told no problem. I arrived and gave my cc for the extra 10 shrimp to be charged and quickly drove home to a mix up. Both my son and I ordered the jalapeño white sauce on the side and didn't receive it. There was a 1/4 cup of salsa and one scoop of chips. The fajitas looked delicious but the burritos were awful. My chicken fajita burrito had seven small chopped pieces of chicken the size of a Jolly Rancher and about a cup and a half of refried beans. When you think of fajitas you imagine sautéed onions, peppers, guacamole, cheese, sour cream.... None of that was in this. (See pic) The same could be said about the steak burrito- just steak and about 1/4 cup of beans. Without any jalapeño sauce it was tasteless. I'm very disappointed in the meal today. For nearly $70 I could have had six Chipotle burritos with everything DoorDashed to me. This was a waste. My husband said the fajitas tasted good but the portion was tiny. Great food and great service. We waked in and were sat down immediately. Our server was funny and on his game. I think his name was John. I got the chimichanga and chose queso as my sauce. It was great. However the chimichangas have gotten a lot smaller than years prior while the cost has gone up too. ($17) It is loaded with chicken though, they don't skimp you on that. My kid got the kids taco that comes with 2 tacos and lots of cheese and fries as her side ($8) She was happy and said all was great!. Now the salsa that comes with the complimentary chips is fire. Pun intended too. It was delicious with the perfect amount of heat. My kid wouldn't touch it tho haha. I love this place! Their Creamy Jalapeño sauce (AKA Crack Sauce) is my absolute favorite! Of course their FREE Happy Hour nacho car is a bonus from 4-7pm. Last night was my first night visiting & I sure did love all the decorations, but the food was not what I was hoping for. My friend chose this restaurant as her bday dinner location. We came in and sat at the bar and waited for more people to come so we could be seated. They seat you once majority of your party has arrived. They had a large table for all of us, which was nice. They had two servers working our table a once which also made things easier. It was just difficult to get some of their attention being it was so busy around us. Aside from that, they were kind and polite. We all ordered queso with meat and queso by itself for appetizers. I did like this dish, and the Sauce with salsa they put out with chips was good too! They fill the chips up every time they see the bowl is low, which was filling me up I ordered a strawberry mojito. It was tasty, but filled up with so much ice! The drink was $8.95 so I was a little disappointed. I also ordered the chicken tacos but work shredded meat rather than grilled fajita and I was very displeased, I had her take it back and I just ate the appetizers at the table. The meat wasn't very hot or seasoned and the beans and rice were just not to my liking. The homemade tortillas tasted nice, which was a plus. This was my first time experiencing Chuy's. We were celebrating my friend's birthday. There were about 15 of us at the table. We were seated about five minutes after we arrived. First impression was I loved the decor of the restaurant! Busy, but warm and inviting. Even the bathrooms were pretty cool. They started us off with warm chips and freshly made salsa. I was so hungry I could not stop eating them. A few folks ordered the queso compuesto to share with the table and it was excellent! I ate this stuff up like I hadn't eaten in a week lol. Because there were so many of us, plus it was a busy Saturday night, it took a while for the food to arrive. But once it arrived the real party began. I ordered the Chick-a Chick-a Boom Boom, roasted hand pulled chicken and cheese with spicy Boom Boom sauce. My meal was good, however the chicken was a little dry. Maybe if they put some cheese or sauce inside the enchilada it would resolve this issue. But don't get me wrong, I ate it all lol. The sauce was delicious! We ordered a piece of Tres Leches cake for my friend who was celebrating her birthday. This piece of cake was so big! We passed it around the table so everyone could get a taste.
