Every time we visit Orlando we always get a bite at Chuys. I personally am a big fan of the shrimp tacos and my guy got the steak burrito. They never disappoint. The Chuy's franchise is probably the best, most consistent Mexican food restaurants in Orlando. This location is on International Drive and very close to the Universal parks. This may account for the prices being a bit higher than most non-tourist restaurants in the city. Love the decor. Very unique to say the least. My go to is the Steak Burrito with the hot Hatch Green Chili. It is very spicy and very good. Ask for extra sauce and they will gladly accommodate you. The fajitas are also consistently good. Chuy's is the real deal! One of the best Tex-Mex places I have ever been to. Ambiance is terrific. Food is plentiful and very tasty! Staff bends over backwards for you! I went with my son on his recommendation and was thrilled right from the start. A huge basket of really fresh light tortilla chips with the best pico di gallo I can remember and some tasty cilantro lime sauce place in front of me. The pico had just the right amount of kick to it and was super fresh! We got some fresh guacamole which was yummy and I ordered tortilla soup and a chicken burrito bowl. The soup has the most amazing broth ever! Chickeny, salty, buttery happiness! The burrito bowl was fresh fresh and super tastey. My son ordered an asada burrito and it's said in the menu "as big as your face" and they were not Messi g around. It was huge! Covered in a terrific Tex Mex sauce. So fulfilling and just Tex-Mex joy! We rolled in on a Thursday at 6 with a party of 7. We were lucky, and seated promptly. Our server was right on it with waters and a drink order. Out came the addictive chips, thin, crispy, salty, delicious and we added queso and guacamole. Also had a creamy jalapeño dip that had some bite. The tortilla soup is a must. Not cheese or cream based which is great, and loaded with flavor. Ample tortilla pieces and chicken. The taco salad with beef is fresh and big. I skipped traditional salad dressing and added their hatch chilie sauce, a spicy green chilies that had my nose running! I'd go back, extra mention of the service. After a great week at the IAAPA expo, I decided to have dinner with my colleagues. We arrived on a Thursday evening around 8ish and were given a 30 minute wait for the dining room area, but there were some spaces open at the bar. We were warned that service could be at the bar due to only one or two bartenders being available, but we were alright with that. We decided to get drinks first, so I decided on the regular margarita on the rocks (9.50). It was surprisingly large sized with refreshing lime and an ample amount of tequila for a small buzz. I did enjoy the chips and queso that my colleague ordered, which had a nice flavor from the gooey cheese. For my entree, the chika chika boom boom chicken enchiladas (15 dollars) were also very generous in portion. There were two ample sized enchiladas astride two rices. The enchiladas were soft with roasted chicken as filling. The sauce gave it a nice kick without being too spicy. Even though I was quite full, I decided to try the tres leches cake (10 dollars) to go as they mentioned it was home made. When I got home to open the box, I was stunned at how huge the cake was. It was big enough for at least 3 to 4 portions with a generous amount of condensed milk and what I thought was caramel sauce on the side, but it tasted more like strawberries. It was sweet and pretty rich, but I enjoyed it for multiple days. Even though we were warned about the slow service, we were able to get our food and drinks in a very reasonable time. Our bartender was friendly and able to make great suggestions. The front desk area was also amiable and helpful. The atmosphere was casual with a bar area in one room, and the dining area in another. There was a good crowd, but nothing loud. I was quite concerned about the roach in the ceiling, but the bartender kinda shrugged about it. More pest control is needed, especially when it is raining outside. Chuys is located near a shopping strip near the Wyndham hotel. Parking is much easier than the ICON park as they have their own lot with a good amount of spaces available. There is also a BJs and Cooper Hawks for alternatives if it gets too full and crowded. The strip also has a fun escape room over there. Even with the roach concern, I can still recommend Chuys as a good Mexican chain. I did enjoy the generous food and good service at a reasonable price. read more

Chuys at international drives was one of the best dining experiences I've had in Orlando! The level of service was incredible from our Server Antwon to the manager. Everyone was so welcoming and lovely. We genuinely felt like we were eating at a Michelin star restaurant which was totally unexpected. The food is superb. The sauces are fun. It's been a while since we've eaten at Chuy's and I have to say it was pretty disappointing tonight. The chips are not fresh, and taste very much like bagged chips. They removed the expo window, which means the tortillas must come from a bag also. My son barely ate half of the quesadilla he ordered because the tortilla was too thick and cold. It felt the same way as the tortilla from my enchiladas. They weren't even warm. This used to be a great spot, especially for locals. Even the management staff and servers were nicer before. But with the limited menu items and the way the food is prepared, its not worth the money anymore, especially with the price increase. They really need to bring back the rellenos, taco shell bowls and fresh tortillas and chips. read more

Ask for the creamy jalapeno; they don't bring it with the chunky salsa but it is the best! Even better, in my opinion, than the guacamole. They specialize in enchiladas with a variety of sauces available for each. Service at this location was a little more relaxed than I've experienced elsewhere, but it was still quite good. Everyone was amazing when we stopped in for lunch yesterday. The hostess offered my daughter some coloring pages and crayons. The bar tender quickly offered to wait on us outside which we are very thankful for. We enjoy the warmth and love eating outside. Service was decent here. The food was cheap if you are looking to dine with family or come for happy hour however the cleanliness of this restaurant is horrible. I'd hate to see what the kitchen looks like. My menus had black mold all over them. The wall at the table is covered in nasty old food and the salt shaker had some black foreign thing in it along with a lot of moisture and rice. I had the queso and a taco salad with a margarita. Did not eat the refried beans. Chips were light and crunchy with a chunky tomato salsa. The chips were endless. Food was good, hot and reasonably priced, but the service was slow. I have been wanting good Tex Mex ever since I moved to Florida from Texas. My wish was finally granted! I ordered the custom enchiladas with cheese and tomatillo. My husband ordered the soft ground beef tacos. Everything was delicious. But the best part of our meal was our wonderful server Ashton who went above and beyond for us. I love when Mexican restaurants offer complimentary chips and salsa when you sit down. The boom boom sauce on their chicken enchiladas is really good. The drink menu was a bit misleading though because the frozen margaritas are priced $9 for a regular and we were offered a choice of flavors including ruby red but then when the check came, apparently the ruby red is more expensive than the other flavors. Id be back and recommend the ruby red frozen margarita but think they should adjust the price to match the other flavors. read more

Food: To start off, they provided the chips and salsa and unfortunately the salsa was terrible in my opinion, too plain and bland. For apps, we just had some chips and queso and the queso was one of the best queso Dios I've had in a long time, it's a must without a doubt. For my entree, I had the steak burrito and I'm not sure if it was the cocktail that caused this but it was out of this world, full of flavor, from the burrito to the rice and beans. My wife had a chuychanga which was also great, flavor was on point, can't complain. Verdict: If you're around the area, you will not be disappointed, the food here is amazing, lots of flavor, drinks on point as well. Chuy's is an excellent choice for those venturing for Tex-Mex food. "Tex-Mex" is not the same as "Mexican" food. There is a difference and you will see it in the variety and style of cooking. We asked to be seated at the bar. Well, it was sit where it's open. There were two tables that were empty, but not clean. We had to wait AND THEN ask if they were going to clean them off so we could sit. If you from 4 to 7pm at the bar during the week, they have a nacho bar with beans, ground beef and queso dip. We got there right when it was almost over so there was not much left. People were waiting in the lobby getting stuff that were lot even from the bar area... LOL. I've been wanting to try the place for years and finally went to the spot on I-drive. It's festive and fun! The Tex-Mex restaurant has anything from nachos to chalupas. We went on a Monday night and they seated 12 of us together. There are bottomless chips and spicy salsa on the table and plenty of decor to look at. The classic margarita was a nice cocktail to start off with. The menu options are plentiful and the chicken enchiladas topped with queso sauce along with the refried beans and yellow rice was delicious. I couldn't finish all of it since it was a lot on the plate. The staff was great in handling all of our orders and brought the food out rather quickly. We had four kids at the table, so maybe that helped a little ;) There was a friendly balloon artist that was giving out awesome balloon creations singing his heart out at each table. It was been several years or more since I went to a Chuy's location, and I had not ever been to this I-Drive location before. Yikes - I am not sure if this experience was because it is in a tourist area, changes from COVID, or if Chuy's has totally change their concept - but this was just not good. I can't say that I am a regular, but my last experience at the Winter Park location was pretty OK and I recall enjoying the food. The menu seems to have completely changed. I do not know if this is related to them pivoting during COVID and dealing with a reduced workforce, but they only served essentially 4 items with a different sauce option for each. Luckily, the prices were cheap, so we didn't have to invest tons of money to learn that we don't like these menu options. We had a big group and no one liked the food, including the kids. From what I saw, we should've all gotten burritos and we would have probably liked it more. The chimichanga I had was way overcooked, and just didn't taste like anything. The food was just bland tex-mex without any flair or flavor to it. Pretty sad. Even their sauces tasted like they came from a can. Their menu variety was less than even a Chipotle/Moe's/Qdoba, slightly more expensive, and way less enjoyable. Service was equally sad. Our waitress disappeared on a break and the waiter who said she'd cover for here completely forgot about us. read more
