I had never heard of this restaurant before so this was a really nice surprise. The staff was courteous and we were seated quickly. Nina was our server and Emily was in training for her 1st day. They brought us chips and salsa and came back to take our order. My husband and I explained that we only ate plant based and we both didn't like green peppers. Nina said she would confirm which dishes were vegan and also make sure that the dishes could be prepared without green peppers. I ordered the vegetarian enchiladas and my husband got the burrito. We were very hungry and were excited to dig right in as soon as we were served. In the first bite we both had green peppers. We both looked through the dishes and pulled out all the peppers. We were a bit disappointed, but the dishes were quite tasty (despite the peppers). When Nina came by we showed her all the peppers and she immediately brought it back to the kitchen to show them. Nina brought the manger Eric over. He was extremely apologetic and offered to remake the dishes. I hate wasting food and suggested that we would take our leftovers home but would be happy to return another day for a redo. Eric gave us a coupon to return as his guest. Went to Chuy's last night for take out. It was my first time here. This is obviously a chain but I've never heard of it. I was seriously craving some chips and salsa though and Chuy's popped up in my search. Since it was close to dinner time, I decided to order a bunch of stuff for my family to try as well. We had amongst us... VEGGIE BURRITO- nothing spectacular but still tasty and fresh. SHRIMP TACOS- very good... a tad salty but still yummy BEEF TACOS- my daughter said they were okay. They did look fresh MEXI-COBB SALAD minus the chicken with the creamy jalapeño dressing. Fresh and tasty and loved the dressing and fresh avocado. They put a little too much shredded cheese but I simply picked some of it off. CHIPS & SALSA- chips were freshly fried and crisp. They had a good amount of salt. I don't mind salt...just not too much. These were nicely salted and yummy as a stand alone item. With the salsa, they were just okay. I love salsa and every time I go to the west coast, I eat it almost everyday. Lol! This salsa is fresh and it's diced very fine. It's good but I found it a little salty and bitter. I still ate all of it though and I'd eat it again. What stood out most was the lady who took my order. She was so friendly and helpful. I love it when people have feedback on menu items. I literally hate when restaurant staff members are like, "l don't know...I don't eat the food here!" not a good thing to say to a customer...like WHY DONT YOU?? Is there something I need to know?? The menu is very simple no main course dishes, lots of tacos and other fast food like dishes. The waitress gave us silver ware in a paper bag, no napkins. When she brought the appetizer, did not give us plates. We had to find her to get napkins. She disappeared and when she finally came back, we ask for dessert and it took for ever. my husband went to the bar to pay because she did not come back. I'm currently visiting family friends in Florida and they have not stopped raving about Chuy's! I absolutely love Mexican food so I knew I had to try it out myself and see what the hype was about. And let me tell you...it did not disappoint and lived up to the hype! For starters, we got chips, salsa, and this amazing creamy dip to go with it. We also ordered the house margaritas and really enjoyed sipping on those with our chips and dip. For dinner, I ordered the Chicken Chimichanga with boom boom sauce and it was every bit of filling, mouthwatering, and SO satisfying! The boom boom sauce was so delicious and added so much flavor with every bite. We even ordered some on the side to drizzle on top! I'm pretty sure I finished the whole plate and that almost never happens at Mexican restaurants, especially with all that beans and rice! First time trying this place ... I love tacos and these are pretty perfectly classic ... got the Family taco kit. So fun and delicious putting our tacos together, also meant they were not soggy! There was all kinds of sauces and salsas to enhance our taco experience! I visited Chuy's Pembroke Pines for lunch with some friends and really enjoyed it. Great ambiance and the staff was friendly. They brought out fresh chips and pico de gallo along with a cilantro sauce that was so good when we first sat down. I ordered a Spicy Margarita that was delicious. Food: there is nothing "fine" about this place. This is literally a Mexican fast food diner. They should really take that out of the name on the building. The food is cheap and very bland for tex-mex (ordered appetizers and entrees for variety). The most flavor you will get is from the complimentary salsa because it has pepper. The presentation was poorly done- my tacos were almost upside down, became soggy, and difficult to eat. I would recommend saving your money and making a quick run to chipotle or any restaurant nearby. Service: when I first went, we were rudely denied entry without a reservation. There was no where to make reservations prior. During my second visit, I observed 2 tables walk out during my dining experience and the managers did not care. The hostess was rude and the manager did not properly rectify the situation. My server got my order wrong but was nice. However, she took forever to return back to the table with simple requests such as napkins, hot sauce, and the bill. If you want good table service forget about it. Simply put, they don't care if you come or go OVERALL: Would not recommend to a friend and will not return. Food is subpar and service is mediocre. So I was very excited that the Chuy'a near me had appeared to finally Be open. With great anticipation we pulled into the parking lot after seeing the training sign but noting that people were able to eat there...only to walk up to the man in front of the door and be asked if we had reservations . I grew up with Chuy'a in Texas and even with the pandemic had not heard of making reservations. There were no signs outside or on Yelp suggesting that one would need reservations...but yes. I was informed that not only did we need reservations but that thel there was no chance of eating there until 3 days later. Bad first impression and if this is the way they work to get customers when they are starting, I'd hate to see them later. Discovered Chuy's a year or so ago and it's one of my favorite places for Tex mex food. As soon as you sit down they give you a generous bowl of chips and salsa and their addictive creamy jalapeño sauce/dressing. I absolutely love the queso there and you should definitely start with a bowl to enjoy with your chips. It's got a slight kick but not spicy. I usually order my go to, chicken fajitas and they give a generous portion. I usually ask for more veggies instead of rice and beans. The fajitas come with all the usual accoutrements and their warm homemade tortillas. The chicken is marinated well and cooked perfectly. Sometimes I like to spoon a little queso on after I wrap up the tortilla for a perfect bite. The restaurant is cute inside and they also have outdoor seating too. Stopped in here for a drink while we waited for our table to be ready at another restaurant nearby. The bar area is separate from the main finding area which is convenient. It does have its own few high tops and additional seating in the bar area but not intended for big parties. When we arrived it seemed a bit busy, took the bartender about 10-15 minutes to get to us but once they did it was fast friendly service all the way through. There was music playing but not too loudly and there was a tv at the bar playing a football game. We ordered 4 drinks total , we're given complimentary chips with dips - one was a tomato fresco style salsa (think pico de fallo bit more chopped up and runny) which was spicy and very yummy. The other was cream based , couldn't really tell what was in it but it also had a bit of a kick, the chips were perfectly salty and light. Great snacking option while drinking. It wasn't very loud even though it was pretty full. The artwork and decor made the place very whimsical, fun place to pop in to. There are no gender neutral bathrooms but they were clean and smelled good which is always a plus. My one comment would be to make sure the service staff notices when people sit at the bar, my partner and I were not the only patrons who waited a while before being seen. One of the others was not so friendly about waiting. Perhaps they were understaffed but in any case the wait wasn't too bad and the service and drinks were worth it. I was a fan of the one in Doral but it mysteriously closed from one day to the other. This one is just as nice and the food was plentiful as well as tasty. Plenty of parking and they feature outside dining and inside as well. Prices are very reasonable considering the huge portions. Loved the chips and the salsas. Vegetarians rejoice, you can get most plates modified and their refriend beans are vegetarian just so you know it. The crowd is fun, they have a good menu and it's bound to make most Mexican food lovers happy. You receive complimentary chips with salsa and a creamy jalapeño dip which were both amazing...probably the best complimentary salsa I have had in a while. We had the pleasure of getting a reservation on 2/13 before the grand opening tomorrow the 16th for a free meal. We were a party of 5. Go hungry!! The plates are big, a lot of food and delicious! Our server was Irene. Although she had her mask on the entire time you can tell she was smiling. She checked up on us several times, never an empty glass. She accidentally forgot to enter someone in my group meal order, she felt bad, I believe one of the managers went to quickly correct it. I think they still need better process to handle groups. But once inside our server was great and fast. Our group started off at the bar and had great service. Super friendly staff. Currently they have a group helping set up from another state and they are great also. Food: We has the chips and the white cilantro jalapeño sauce is amazing it was great!
