Had an amazing experience at Chuy's this week. For context, I have a classic car that rides on tube car tires. Most shops don't do tubed tires, but Chuy's saved the day by accepting my wheels, tires and tubes to quickly perform the replacements so I can get this classic moving again. While I don't have any pictures of Chuy's I have included the flat wheels before (right after removal) and after (once they were installed onto the car. I will DEFINITELY go back to Chuy's for tube and modern tire repairs / replacements. read more

Started coming during COVID. Love they're open late and weekends. Guys are great and helpful

Been coming here for years but finding a different tire service. Was waiting for 15 minutes for service. Even pulled into the stall when it was my turn. The mechanic then purposely bypassed me and went to help the new Mercedes Benz that pulled behind me and was waiting for maybe 5 minutes. I went to the owner who has always been sweet and explained that that was not fair as I had been waiting long and was actually parked in a stall. He then spoke to his mechanic who only then came to help me. After he found out my tire had to be patched he went right back to help the Hispanic woman in the Mercedes. I mention her nationality because I am black and by all appearances it looked to me that the mechanic purposely went to help a Hispanic woman rather than help the African-American woman who had patiently waited in line. I have loved this place and been coming for years but I will now think twice as they have no problem in 2022 unfairly putting an African American at the back of the line. It was not until I told the owner as such that he went again to tell his mechanic to help me first. I've never been treated like this here. Yet another installment of 'Shopping While Black'. The woman on the phone was up front and told me the estimated cost. The workers worked together to replace all 4 tires. What I liked most was that they started all the lug nuts by hand, checked clearance before tightening. I will absolutely use Chuy's again. read more

Lightning fast service and a great price. I pulled into their lot on a Sunday afternoon, and immediately my car was jacked up, the tire was pulled off, and a nail was pulled out. Fifteen minutes later the tire was repaired and I was on my way. The price was super-reasonable. Wow. The tire place on Colorado had a two hour wait. read more

Chuy's saved me from getting ripped off. Fixed my 6 month old new tire for $20 that competing shop said wasn't fixable. I had a screw in my right front tire and I went to a shop by my house who said it wasn't fixable. Mind you, this new tire is less than a year old. He told me I needed a new tire and to go to his friend's shop nearby. I didn't feel comfortable with that, so instead I decided to drive the 5 miles to Chuy's (it was same distance away as his friend's shop). Called ahead for a specific tire size, pulled the car in, took them 20 30 mins for them to actually start working on my car when they was no car ahead, they took off my tire and spent another 40 minutes looking for a tire of my size just for me to be told that the tire size I needed wasn't available but instead we could put a smaller size which is not recommended, I'm still here waiting for them to finish, not worth it. They also changed the price from over the phone and upcharged once here. Exactly TWO Days after my tire deflated and that was the end of it. Had to get an actual new tire. Scammed me 90 dollars. Trust your instinct and never go cheap. Lesson learned. I absolutely don't recommend this place for tires!! Your welcome. read more

I went to Chuy's Tires Service for the first time today in order to get a flat tire replaced. I called before going in and was told over the phone that they would be able to service me "right away." When I went in, they were not able to take me yet--they were busy. I was told by an elderly man at the window that there was a 5-10 minute wait. So I waited. It was over 90 degrees Fahrenheit today, so I was getting sweaty and cranky waiting. Also, only one of their many workers was wearing a mask, which didn't make me feel very safe. After about 12 minutes, I asked the guy at the window whether they were going to be able to help me or not. He said "10 minutes," which annoyed me because he said 10 minutes more than 10 minutes ago. I gave him a little bit of a hard time about it, but he reassured me that I was "next." I waited another few minutes and bought an ice cream sandwich to pass the time (they sell ice cream through the window). Sure enough, after a few minutes, they had me pull in and put in a new tire in less than 6 minutes. The employee who put on my tire was gentlemanly (took all my trash to the trashcan), soft spoken, and efficient. It was $148 with tax. When I went to pay, the old guy at the window kind of smiled/smirked and said, "See, I said 10 minutes." I mean it wasn't 10 minutes but it was close enough, right? I told him that I'm not known for my patience and thanked him for the service. He gave me a pump of hand sanitizer and napkins. He wasn't annoyed back at me or irritated that I was impatient--I call that good customer service. I tipped the guy who put on my tire. Long story short, I like the guys at Chuy's Tires Service. They're friendly and patient with crabby customers (like me) even when it's hot AF outside. They were fast and I didn't feel like they were trying to cheat me. I'd go there again. My only complaint is that none of them were wearing masks (except one guy). WEAR MASKS. read more

I'm all about supporting small businesses but gouging a customer for dismounting tires @10 bucks each is a bit excessive. You guys dismounted, patched, remounted and balanced my tire previously for 10 bucks. On top of that, you guys scratched up every single brand new wheel I had! Not far from The Rose Bowl in north Pasadena, this large ramshackle of a tire place offers a good product for the money. They sell and install referbished used tires. I know that 'used tires' kind of sounds like used underwear... but it's not. The tires are good and they last for years. If you are scraping to survive, and then suddenly need to replace a tire to boot, Chuy's is a place where you can do that for around 50 bucks a tire. read more

I needed a tire so I called "chuy's and asked for a specific tire . He confirmed and said that he got it. I told him hold it for me he said okay. I go to his tire shop 5 minutes after and he said that he sold it! so I asked is there any other tires that you can sell me he brought one out, at the moment I thought they knew what they were doing but they didn't he sold me a craked patched up tire for 80$ now the patch I seen but the cracks I didn't notice until after , and it doesn't end here so while he was screwing in the bolts in the tire he strips one of the studs. I already accidentally stripped one so now two are stripped and he said it was my fault that the second one got stripped. anyways I had to leave with my wheel banging all over the place. and it was unsafe but thank God I made it to the mechanic on time. Moral of the story (Do not do business with these shady people) there gonna say that I stripped it and yes I stripped one but the certified tire mechanic stripped the other and blamed it on me. read more

For the past 4 years, Chuy's is the only place I've ever taken my car to whenever I needed a tire patched or a pressure check. I pass up free tire service at Costco to support the local business, but today I'm rethinking that choice. At least the past 2 times I've been to Chuy's, it's only been $10 to get a tire patched but today they charged me more than double ($25). I was surprised and asked him again to verify how much the service cost. When he said the same amount I didn't argue with him, I just gave him the money and planned never to come back. I'm not sure if he thought I was new there or if they were just charging extra because they were busy or what, but a 150% price jump without any explanation seems suspicious and dishonest. I've never had a problem before today but this makes me want to take my business elsewhere. read more

I had a nail in my tire and was told by other tire services that I would require a new tire. I went to Chuy's and they showed no concern and said only a patch was necessary. I get the patch for $20 and afterwards find out the cap on my tire is missing. I call them 3 times to no avail (during their business hours), as I'm about to drive back up there the following morning(today) to get my cap back my tire is completely FLAT. They expressed no concern about the tire not being patchable and insisted that it would be fine. I have now spent money to be in a worse position than I was the day before. read more

I brought my car in for tires and each time I was told "sorry we don't have a use tire to fit your car but we do have a new tire" A difference of $50 more My son brought my car in for a use tire twice. Matter a fact 2 weeks ago. It was no problem. I spoke to the head guy at the window I told him what I have experienced on my passed visits and the accommodations my son was giving on his visits. Closes at 6 apparently, I say this because I came in at 6:10 and three dudes just stared at me and then after a while started passively aggressively shouting "shut the gates it's time to go home" I asked if they were open and they just ignored me and meandered in a circle. I fell for a classic bait and switch. Called ahead and specifically asked if they had used tires in a matching pair and they told me they did. I showed up to find a mismatch set of different branded and the wear and each tire was drastically mismatched as well. I went ahead and got one tire anyways since I was already in a bind at the point as it was getting late in the day and I had to replace a tire that was slowly leaking. The actual techs were friendly and hardworking but the man in the front office who already bait and switched gave me plenty of attitude and was ultimately very rude to me except when it came to time take my payment. Also they charge more for used tires than any other shop I've dealt with. It was $55 for one tire. read more

My mom was recommended to this business by her friend, and she always came here when I was a kid. Now I bring my car here whenever I need tires/etc. They are fair with their prices, and I've yet to have an issue with their tires/staff. I always come here first before I go to the dealer and I'm satisfied 100% of the time. They can get pretty busy on the weekends so just plan to wait but your wallet will thank you. :) read more

Be careful when you switch put your rims or wheels here. He'll take advantage of people not knowing how pressure sensors work. He'll buy your tires and do the switch, then resell your old tired with your original sensors (which should have been transferred over). When you ask why your pressure light went off the staff will act dumb, and when you demand your sensors back, or a replacement, they'll act even dumber. ​ read more

Be sure and check your tire pressure after you leave. There's a sticker inside the drivers door of pretty much every vehicle manufactured in the last 50 years that specifies what pressure to inflate them to. Mine says 30 psi, I got home and they were over 40. The max psi stated on the tire is almost certainly NOT the correct pressure for your vehicle - and a tire shop that inflates everything to the max pressure isn't doing great work. I forgot to ask if they balanced them, but I'm assuming not. I used to go to a mechanic in TX that had a sign in his shop that said "We do three kinds of work: Good, Fast and Cheap. You may choose any two." It was fast and cheap. read more

I'm glad that I went to this place for a flat tire and it couldn't have been any better. Since it was a Sunday, I wasn't aware that quite a few tire repairs were closed. I blamed myself that I was lazy and I should have brought my car to the shop yesterday. While filtering for a handful of open stores, I thought this little place had solid ratings even with only a with handful of reviews. I had my front tire on the passenger side patched up. Roberto was able to identify and show me that there were 2 smaller nails in tire. I'm glad there wasn't a line since they took their time to patch it up. In addition, a few months ago I had my rear tire on the passenger side patched up. Unfortunately, I found myself having to refill the air every 3 weeks. I knew there was still a small puncture that the first stop hadn't fixed. I asked if they could check out if that was the case for. Roberto was more than happy to help and able to damped the tire with water to determine any signs of leakage with the bubbles. I didn't think of that idea but it was a pretty neat trick!
