Newest location and still the same great food. Our wait on a Saturday afternoon was a manageable 15 minutes. The interior was smaller but still had the loud family feeling of the other locations . We had the taco carbon and the taco, chalupa, tostada, all were excellent. I would suggest going with the tacos carbon with the fajita steak. Chuy's is a tex-mex chain. It's a good option when you want to over-eat and have a good margarita. They have a great drink selection and just about everything you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant on the menu. Be warned; their chalupa is not a traditional chalupa, it's a tostada. The restaurant is rather large, very colorful with lots of art and neon colors around. We went super bowl sunday, expected a crowd but it was completely empty. The staff was beyond friendly, greeting us at the door and letting us pick our spot. We decided to sit at the bar, our bartender greeted us with chips and salsa (delicious btw) and took our drink order. The service was fantastic, our bartender was helpful and very attentive. I noticed there was a happy hour special from 4-7 Moday through Friday that includes a discount on appetizers/drinks and a nacho bar which I was admittedly more excited to try than my meal. I ended up ordering a "Chalupa" and enchilada which came with a side of rice and refried beans. I found both to be kind of bland, resulting in me relying on the sauces on the side for flavor. Luckily we grabbed a side of creamy jalapeno and hatch green chile, both had a decent kick to them! I'll be back, more likely for the happy hour than another dinner. read more

Solid 3 stars. Went to Chuy's on a whim last night. We were seated promptly and the place was about 70% full. Waitress was attentive. Free chips and salsa as usual. We didn't try any apps just two entrees. The prices seemed a little lower than we were used to in Chicago which is a nice change. I got the chuychanga -their funny name for chimichanga- which was a huge portion and she got a Taco, enchilada, chalupa meal. Both came out quickly and were great. Will probably be back. Four stars for a fun chain serving up solid Tex-Mex with flair. The interior of Chuys is really festive. It's colorful and strategically tacky. It's also very clean and has a lot of natural light. The patio is nice as well (and Dog friendly!). I enjoy their margaritas, but I think some of their other mixed drinks are more impressive. Their New Mexican Texas Martini is phenomenal and highly recommended (if you don't mind the kick!). If the spice is a bit much for you, you can customize your own martini. The salsa here is spicy and fresh. Also, they serve a jalapeno ranch sauce that's terrific and comes with the chips (not as spicy as it sounds, mostly creamy). Their chips are fresh and plentiful. As far as food, there are a ton of options. The chile relleno is legit and I like their chicken salad. There's a "lite" menu if you want to watch your calories and options for those looking to bulk-up. Overall, this is a fun spot with great food options! read more

Hangout with a group of co worker few days ago and just writing the review...just realized I been eating out way too much for this is my 3-4 review this week. Last time I was there was an yelp elite event. That was great so we decided to come back. I ordered the Elvis Presley it was tons of food. I tried my best but was not able to finish. Everything was fresh and tasty, but after finishing the main plate. I just had no room for the taco. Ends up giving it to my son later. The price is reasonable, the decor is nice but some of the painting is dark...like one with a guy holding out people head. But it was a great friendly place to hang out. We have picked up twice from this location in the last month and a half and get their family taco deals. They were great value and we're delicious. The first time I over ordered and get the 12 taco meal, which was an amazing problem to have because I was eating tacos for three days. We had a delicious meal here! The chicken enchiladas with green avocado chili sauce were so good and the rice was yummy (Friday night special). The enchiladas were better than Rocco's (and I am very loyalRocco's!). Also if you come between 5-7pm, the nacho car bar is complimentary where you grab fresh nachos and can top them with ground beef, hot Queso, beans, and salsa as many times as you'd like. It was packed when we went, but we got 2 seats at the bar and the bar service was excellent, super friendly, and very quick. Great Chuys location in the heart of the Winter Park Orlando Ave area. There is a nice parking garage adjacent to the restaurant that is shared between the various restaurants in the complex. Finally, Chuy's are popping up all over the Orlando area. I have to say, Chuy's isn't necessarily THE go-to option in Texas, but it feels great to have a slice of home in Florida. ALWAYS get the "creamy jalapeño" (ranch/jalapeño dip) with your chips. You will not regret it. Their flour tortillas are delicious (and made in-house), and I typically order the Southwestern Enchilada special--which are chicken enchiladas wrapped in blue corn tortillas, smothered in green Chile (so spicy and delicious), and topped off with a fried egg. Is it the healthiest item on the menu? Probably not, but you know what's healthier? Topping it all off with a Chuy's Brew (beer "dipped" into a margarita). I totally enjoy this Tex Mex! Really awesome homemade chips and tortillas! I love getting any of their dishes modified with just beans instead of meats. Their veggie fajitas are awesome! They also have Coke Zero which I love. The service has been awesome every time we have been there. The atmosphere is fun. The only thing is that it isn't good for large groups on busy weekends. They were kind enough to take my call and said they could accommodate a group of 10+ for a reservation during the week but not on a Friday night at 7 PM which is one of their peak times. Our second time visiting. The first time we ate here was when they first opened awhile ago. The food was great! However our server was .. let's just say she would be the reason that I would not spend another dime in their restaurant. Her attitude seriously needed some work. I asked what was the green sauce? She said we don't have a green one. So she brought out a white one. She literally was not trying to help at all. My daughter ordered Dr Pepper and I ordered coke. I start sipping my drink and it's a Dr Pepper. We then ask for additional chips while we wait for our food. She brings out a scooper over flowing with chips and dumps them in the basket on our table, meanwhile chips are literally falling all over the table and my daughter and I are left cleaning all these chips off the table as the server walks away saying "it's raining chips". Our server then brings the food. I asked what was the stuff on my plate as I'm not a tex mex expert and there was so much deliciousness on my plate I just wanted to identify the items because I ordered a combo with many items on my plate. Our servers response "you ordered a number 6". I then said yes but what are the items? She repeated "you ordered a number 6". Not bad, not great. I stopped by for some tacos for lunch and the food came very fast. It was standard fare. Not above expectations or below. The steak tacos came with a side of rice and beans and the portions were big. This is the middle. If you sum up all the chain style mexican restaurants you've been to and come up with an average quality this is exactly the tacos and sides you would expect. No better no Worse. I might be ordering the wrong thing. Tex-Mex is their forte and they do have an extensive menu, so they might be above average or great when it comes to entrees. This is a big place. Very bright with lots of neon everywhere. Not my thing, but kids would probably love it. This is a good place to take large groups on a budget, team outings, etc. It reminds me of a mexican style version of a restaurant like bucca di peppo. They have their own parking garage which is very important in this part of town where you sometimes avoid places like Trader Joe's and Shake Shack because you're not likely to find a parking spot. The food here is delicious! I previously had only been to the location down in Kissimmee. But today when I had stuff going on in winter park I thought I'd order some lunch to go. I was even more delighted than expected! The enchiladas are soooo good, and the creamy jalapeño ranch is to die for. I ordered an extra 8oz container just so I have some at home. The parking situation can be a bit chaotic if you're not familiar. There is a garage and I recommend parking there as the lot across from the garage is a towaway zone and the other side of the building all the parking is reserved for the restaurant next door, the Glass Knife. I didn't get a chance to experience the inside since I opted for curbside pickup (hint, the parking spot for that is in the garage). But I have been told it's as colorful and eclectic as other Chuy's locations. The guy who brought my order out was nice but I'm not sure how the other staff is. I definitely say it's a must try if you haven't been, the Tex-Mex style dishes are so yummy! read more

I did not think queso mixed with guacamole would be any good, boy was I wrong. I went with a friend who raves about this place and we both got a meal that is not on the menu, Shirley Goo. We got take out, expecting something fast and simple...wow! Some of the best Mexican we've had this side of the border. Highly recommend the Chicken Combo, if you're willing to forgo the rice and beans (chicken chalupa, soft taco with fajita chicken)- the chicken chalupa was really good and the soft taco with fajita chicken was the best Tex-Mex I've had in a very long time. I really wish there was a Chuy's in my area, because it would definitely be a regular spot for me. My husband raved over the Tacos (one of each- fajita chicken, ground beef and steak). The chips and salsa were super fresh (the salsa *actually* had a bit of a kick to it, which is a refreshing change of pace) and the other sauce that came with chips and salsa (I think it was the creamy jalapeño sauce?) was AMAZING! The food was absolutely blah......nothing "Tex Mex" about it other than the claims of green chilis from New Mexico (doubt it). Since we had the day off decided to head over woth the wife and kid to check out the new area in Winter Park. Stopped in Chuys for dinner and we were not disappointed. Sever (Kristen) was super friendly, we actually ordered completely off of her recos, veggie enchilanda for the wife and I got the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Enchilada and the chicken/cheese chile rellano with tomatillo sauce. Was craving a little Tex-Mex tonight, I've been a fan since the days of ACL in Austin, and have found the food consistent and delicious at the Semoran location and wanted to try out WPark. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, all employees wore their mask appropriately. The hostess was very nice and helped moved our table over to give a little more distance. Our server did a nice job as well. Now for the food, totally disappointed! This is the first time I've ever had bad food from Chuy's. My friend said her soup was good, her tacos were cold (but she didn't send them back), I sent my chicken quesadillas back they were not what I'm accustom to (the nice crispy outside and gooey inside- they were barely warm and soft more like chicken tacos!) I sent them back and the return plate was no better. A manager never visited the table either to ensure the remake was okay . Based on the food I don't know that I would return to this location there are better options around Orlando and honestly up the street. read more

Probably the freshest tasting Mexican food I've had. Everything I've tried here tastes like it was prepared for hours. Fresh salsa, fresh rice and beans and tortillas. The salsa is made from scratch daily and now two days taste the same. The jalapeño dip is delicious! The boom boom sauce is a must on every entree. Order yourself a bowl of queso. Anything you're going to order as an entree will be awesome, and most likely there will be leftovers for you to take home. Chuy's is becoming a regular spot for our family and is especially fun for big groups. It does chain restaurants justice with an out of the box quirky atmosphere, good service, and great drinks. The food is passable - unfortunately, there is always someone in our party that get's something they are disappointed with, but the over all experience is always positive. Most recently, we went for a Sunday evening dinner. I stuck with a liquid dinner except for stuffing my face with their delicious chips (I tend to judge Tex-Mex restaurants in part by their tortilla chips and these are the best) and plethora of dip options. The drinks were delicious; their sangria is popular and quite tasty and naturally their margaritas are great as well. The salsa is very spicy as is much of what is on the menu, so beware. Again, the food is OK for Tex-Mex and the options are standard, but they do have some unique specials. I got the Elvis Green Chile Fried Chicken which was great, if rather spicy. The quality of the food is a little behind the curve, and quality is typically what makes Tex-Mex restaurants stand out as many skimp on better ingrediants. That being said, they do a few things quite well; they make tortillas in house which are delicious and you really can't go wrong with the specials. Over all Chuy's makes for a fun experience for happy hour or family outings, but there is better Tex-Mex elsewhere. read more
