Unpleasant Experience at Mom and Pop's Chicken in Cameron Park I recently dined at Mom and Pop's Chicken in Cameron Park, and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. From soggy fries to cold chicken and unfriendly service, it was a disappointing visit. Let's start with the food. The fries were a major letdown. They arrived at the table soggy and lacking any hint of crispiness. It was evident that they had been sitting out for quite some time before being served. The chicken, which is supposed to be the highlight of the restaurant, was also a disappointment. Not only was it cold, but it also lacked the juiciness and flavor that one would expect from a place specializing in chicken dishes. On top of the subpar food, I was disheartened by the lack of refills on drinks. For the prices they charge, one would assume that refills would be a given. However, to my surprise, I had to flag down a server and practically beg for a refill, which took an excruciatingly long time to arrive. Adding to the disappointment was the steep price of the food. I understand that quality comes at a cost, but the prices here were far too high for the mediocre experience I received. I expected more value for my money, especially considering the lackluster food and service. Speaking of service, the staff's demeanor was far from friendly. From the moment I walked in, I was met with indifference. The server who attended to our table seemed disinterested in taking our order and barely acknowledged our presence throughout the meal. It felt like we were an inconvenience to them rather than paying customers deserving of respect and attentiveness. Overall, my visit to Mom and Pop's Chicken in Cameron Park was a complete letdown. The combination of soggy fries, cold chicken, lack of drink refills, expensive prices, and unfriendly service left a sour taste in my mouth. I won't be returning to this establishment, and I advise others to think twice before dining there as well. This was my 3rd time and last time eating at this place. Today is 7/27/2023. My bride made the decision that we should stop here for an early dinner, and once again I was reminded that one of the secrets to a happy marriage is occasionally admitting that your wife was right. This was one of those times! We both ordered the chicken sandwich, and it was outstanding. The chicken was moist in the middle, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. Every bite was delicious. The tater tots were also cooked to perfection--crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and exactly what a tater tot should aspire to be when it grows up. The service was excellent. Since it was our first visit, our server surprised us with a complimentary slice of carrot cake. That kind of hospitality goes a long way and definitely earned extra points in my book. The restaurant itself was clean, organized, and well-maintained. Even the bathrooms were spotless, which is always a good sign that people care about the details. A couple of small observations: parking can be a bit of an adventure. Cars seem to be flying in every direction, so keep your head on a swivel when entering and exiting. Also, the restaurant got a little loud during our visit, but that's usually the price you pay when a place is popular and people are enjoying themselves. Overall, this was a great experience. Great food, great service, clean facilities, and a free piece of carrot cake. I happen to know the owner and know that he is way better than this. Most of the places he has are amazing, the problem with this restaurant is the food is hit or miss and lately lots of misses especially when he is not there. We have gone there three times in the last two months to give it another chance and it's not getting any better. We got comped money last month for bringing some of the wrong plates, and to all of our guests at much different times. This last month they got the order wrong, not once or twice but a third time where we actually decided to just remove what we didnt want on the food ourselves. The staff is relatively friendly, but they do ignore people waiting for their drinks while they are having conversations with their regulars. My takeaway is that the kitchen is the biggest problem, followed by the fact that some of the staff is not staying on top of keeping everyone happy, just their regulars. read more

I've attached the removal notice for transparency. To be VERY clear: I was the customer. I personally placed this order. This happened while attempting to order from Cosmic Roosters. I selected the Rancho Cordova location on their website and placed my order. As I completed checkout, their ordering system switched my order to the El Dorado Hills location, which is significantly farther away. There was no option to cancel or correct the order after checkout. Naturally, I then tried to contact the restaurant to fix the problem. That's when I discovered another major issue: I could not find a working phone number or another reasonable way to contact either location for immediate assistance with my order. That is the entire reason for this review. A website/order-system issue sent my actual order to the wrong location, and when I tried to resolve it, there was no practical way for me as the customer to reach the business. My original review still got the point across, but apparently the words "we put in an order" were not sufficient to establish that I was describing my own customer experience. So, hopefully this version eliminates any vagueness. My review is based entirely on my firsthand experience ordering from this business. I'm attaching Yelp's removal notice as well so there is a record of why I am reposting and clarifying the review. Cosmic Roosters: please fix the online ordering/location issue and give customers a reliable way to contact you when something goes wrong with an order. This entire situation could have been resolved with basic customer support.

(A perfect recreation of my favorite pizza from Base Camp Pizza in Tahoe... read my review LOL.) Oh my... so much to choose from! Check out my menu pics! The food/wine was a 10! I had a great pinot. So a big high five from me. The pizza was phenomenal and piece by piece it disappeared during our conversation and frivolity. Four thumbs up! Oh... there's more. They do weekend breakfast and brunch! I want that. Check out that menu photo too. So... in conclusion I highly recommend Wallys Pizza Bar for a good time. The bar, btw, was located behind us so not in our view. But it was packed. The breakfast menu is huge with many combinations and ability to order each side separately they have all the classics in addition to dishes like loco moco and Mexican-style breakfast dishes. Their "pre spiced hot meat" is a non-greasy chorizo type of meat that has a fantastic flavor, inconsistency. My tablemates got the special scramble with the pre-spiced meat, ham, sausage and bacon, mushrooms, cheese and more and absolutely loved it. I ordered the Tijuana Tortilla with eggs over-easy it came with a few country potatoes, and was absolutely delicious. The coffee was bold and tasty and came refill(s?). Seems like we were one of the of only non-local-repeat-customers. The way the waiter was able to handle all of the tables and talk to all the locals and fill the coffee and get the orders to his partner without a hitch. I would definitely come back here

We were met with a welcome and smile as we walked through the door. The breakfast menu had so many choices it was hard to decide. My husband had the locomoco with corned beef hash and I had pancakes and sausage. The locomoco was covered in an amazing country gravy and was perfectly made with an egg, corned beef hash and rice. The pancakes were light and perfectly golden brown. As we were leaving, we said we needed to come back whenever we were in the area to work our way through the menu. I'm looking forward to trying the burritos.
