Nasty.. don't wash their hands before handling your food, they ring up orders touching money and credit cards pens.. etc.. The owner has a nasty attitude and it is filled with flies landing all over food. Pizza sitting out on the counter, other food items sitting out look old and nasty. Do not eat here they are dirty and got called out for it. I had to tell the owners to wash their hands!!! read more

So... after a day of running around I stopped for a bite here. I was starving and it was the closest place before my last errand. I walked in and it was your typical pizza place. Workers in the back hustling, the older slightly grumpy man (I assume was the owner) at the register barking orders. I giggled a little feeling like I was back in Jersey. Ana yeah I something from the glass case that just needed heated. It looked like a stuffed pizza as there was no description. It was semi heated when it came to me. The flavor was ehh ok. The sauce on the side tasted as if it was put in the fridge as soon as it was made... like it was not cooled first. It was very sour and did not have a great taste. I hope the sauce on the pizza does not taste the same. It wasn't my favorite pizza place but Not the worst... average at best. I would be willing to give it another try. Simply Ciao has the best pizza I've had in Delaware. The crust is thin, light and tasty, great sauce and the cheese is excellent. In fact it's one of the few pizza places in DE that I will order extra cheese. You may ask if the pizza is so great why only 4 out of 5 stars. Well the service is not nearly as good as the pizza. The employees display poor customer service skills, in fact they seem to feel like they are doing you a favor by taking your order. They can be very annoying and there are times I will order from somewhere else just to avoid the hassle. All in all if you want great pizza Ciao is the place to go, but if customer service is very high on your list you may want to look elsewhere. read more

I have been coming here for my favorite pizza since I was a teen...I am 48 y.o. It's not very close to where I live, so I don't get to treat myself to it as often as I'd like. Yesterday, at dinnertime, I was near Prices Corner and I got the meat lasagna special, just for something different. It was DELICIOUS, (and huge). Came with a really good, fresh salad, (also huge) and some garlic bread. I took half the lasagna home and can't wait to have it as leftovers tonight. Who knew??? read more

Wow I'm so happy I decided to stop in here for lunch on a whim. Food is so fresh and delicious. The pie crust is out of this world. Great prices, quick and awesome service. Very accommodating and helpful. The guy up front (maybe the owner) did everything and had a warm smile on his face the whole time. The place was packed but they got the people out quickly and efficiently. (Btw I'm vegan so I got a slice of tomato pie and they didn't hesitate when I asked for some veggies on top and got me oil and vinegar with no problem for my side salad.) I've been going to Ciao for years, always had great service and good food. The last two times I was in, the service was awful and the slices were terrible. The first time the man was on his personal cell phone- finished his conversation then took my order, which was one slice of white pizza. He said we only have one left.. I said ok. A few beats later he says, do you want it? What?! Then he got back on his cell phone- another customer came in and said to me- is he on his phone? Yep. Yummy thin-crusted pizza. Ciao's makes the only pizza that my entire family likes to eat. No delivery though.

Overall, the pizza was good. The crust is thin and has a nice crunch when you bite into it. I would've given them 4 stars if they had fresh mushrooms vs. the canned ones. The decor is dated and nothing fancy, but a good place to pick up a slice on the fly. read more

This is the best pizza I've had in Wilmington. Other places I've tried so far are slightly off with odd sweet sauce, or bleh tasting cheese. Ciao's offers basic tasty NY style pizza, I ordered a large half cheese half sausage, think it was around $13-- I'd get it again based off of it's quality over an $8 pizza from elsewhere that is merely edible but not good. The sausage was Italian style (round slices). I called in & picked up on a busy Friday, order was ready when I arrived 20 min. later. A guy who I believe was the owner, was very friendly at the counter, can't speak to the friendliest of the rest of the staff, have only been once. Will go again, would recommend. read more

Went to staples today in the prices corner shopping center and decided to give this place another try after reading about the roach/bug write up they received on Delaware online. This use to be my favorite pizza place in Delaware.. but after the old manager left (can't remember his name huge Phillies fan blue eyes) but anyway the place has gone down in the dumps.. the quality has changed in the food... the service is terrible now also.. the new manger is some cocky old guy who is very rude and ignorant. Today I asked for 4 slices of cheese pizza to be heated up to go.. he looked at me and said they just came out it's no need to heat up.. I went on to then explain that me and my mom like our pizza a little crispy would he mind heating it up.. he stared at me with a evil look and said I guess then started talking infer his breath.. then when he put the pizza in the oven to heat up he left it in for 10 seconds.. as he was trying to take it out the oven I asked him to leave it in skittle longer he took it out anyway and said no I just cleaned my oven... won't EVER be back!!! read more

I don't usually give reviews, but I have to say I love Ciao. 1) They have the best pizza south of NY. I am a New Yorker, so I know. 2) Their staff is extremely friendly. 3) The environment has something for everyone--busy, cozy, small interior, a large 2nd floor that is usually empty for private chats, and a fenced in patio--take your kid or take your dog. My fiancé and I go there nearly every Sunday, and I am never disappointed. This place is everything a home-town pizza shop should be. Lastly, I saw no delivery in the comments, but I am pretty sure they deliver. I regularly see staff in and out with delivery boxes. Perhaps there is a minimum. read more

The pizza was excellent. Thin and flavorful. Just how I like it. The place is pretty run down, but I actually like that in a pizza shop. I have a feeling it hasn't changed much or been updated since the day it opened. The staff, not so friendly. Very short, not welcoming. You feel more like a burden and all I did was order 2 slices of pizza and a soda. It's a shame because I'd love to make it a regular place but I just can't patronize a business that doesn't treat its customers well. read more
