That said, I wouldn't return or recommend this location for other autistic families at this time. The instructors didn't seem prepared or confident in working with a neurodiverse child. They frequently checked the time, every few minutes which made it feel like they were just trying to get through the 30 minutes rather than stay engaged. On multiple occasions, they asked my husband what they should have our son do next, which made it clear there wasn't a set plan tailored to his needs. We had explained from the beginning that our son is clingy and may need more time to warm up. Despite that, it felt like the instructors were caught off guard by this every single lesson. I would strongly encourage the staff to receive some basic training or education about autism and neurodiversity in general. Every child is different, and a little understanding and preparation can go a long way in making lessons more effective and inclusive.
