It has that warm, lively feel that makes you want to hang out and enjoy your time instead of rushing through the meal. We did a wine flight to start, which was a fun way to try a few different pours, and everything paired really well with dinner. The highlight for me was the whole roasted fish. Crispy on the outside, super tender inside, and really clean, fresh flavor. Simple but done really well. Service was on point too -- friendly, attentive, and helpful without hovering. Definitely a spot I'd come back to and one I'd recommend if you're in Charlotte and want a solid dinner with great drinks and atmosphere.

It's a cute restaurant with church pews, open space and a view directly into the kitchen. Cory was our waiter and he was nice and made great recommendations with it being our first time visiting. The food was excellent from the appetizer through dessert! Because it was our birthdays, Cory gave us complimentary macarons that were chef kiss just like our meal! We tried the branzino, pot roast, broccoli, potatoes and the dip for an appetizer! Everything was a 10/10 in did. However, our food took forever to come. I know it wasn't a server issues and seems to be related more to how they prepare the food directly in the wood ovens.

Still, there were an abundant variety of items. The thing that impressed me the most was their ramen-noodle bar! Think this was the first buffet place that had that. Also, they had an unusual assortment of dessert items. Guess the thing I didn't love was their sushi rolls. As tempting as they looked, they just didn't taste too fresh...but that's a given, in that I don't think I've ever had truly amazing sushi roll in any buffet place. Overall, we enjoyed the buffet...and vowed that we'll return sooner than later next time!

Our server started pushing us to pay while we were still eating. I politely asked if I could pay at the front like I normally do, but she didn't speak English and became very pushy and rude. They began removing dishes from the table before closing time and before giving any kind of last call. I asked to speak with the manager, but when he arrived he also did not speak English, so there was no real way to properly explain the situation. At 9:01 pm we were basically told to leave. I completely understand restaurants have closing times, but there is a respectful way to handle it, usually by giving customers a heads-up and allowing them time to finish their meal instead of rushing them out the door. As someone who worked in restaurants when I was younger, I know that basic communication and courtesy are essential. What also felt uncomfortable was the atmosphere among the staff. The employees seemed extremely nervous and afraid to speak or explain anything, which made the whole situation feel strange and unsettling. It honestly gave the impression that they were scared to say the wrong thing or do anything outside of strict instructions, which was sad to witness. Overall, the food might be fine, but the service and the way the situation was handled made it a very disappointing experience.

Our server seemed new and a bit confused a lot. We wanted a specific sake which she said she'd check to see if they were out of and when she came back she didn't tell us we were out of it just asked what we wanted again. We got a different sake which was DISGUSTING. Could barely drink it. After putting in our sushi order for AYCE, I let her know about my shellfish allergy and just asked that anything with lobster or crab be on a separate plate. She was very confused, apparently not knowing what shellfish was and went down the list of all fish asking what was safe.... One of my rolls was supposed to be a spicy salmon but came out just a regular salmon but I just ate it. The sushi itself was very good, I loved the abundance of special rolls they offer.

From the premium cuts of meat to the impressive variety of side dishes and soups, every element is executed perfectly. Two things really set them apart: the meat portions are perfectly sized, and the variety of dipping sauces is on another level. Even during a busy service, the staff is attentive and the food comes out incredibly fast. Having traveled and eaten at top-tier spots in Los Angeles and New York City, I can confidently say this place holds its own against the best in the nation.

The prices were still $30 a head. I don't think there was a time limit for how long you could stay then. Now it's $40 a head (which inflation.... I get it) with a two hour limit. My main issue is the ambiance is horrible!!! They painted the big wooden booths with this cheap sticky black paint that's slowly coming off. I was wearing shorts and it was PAINFUL if I got up too quickly. The lighting is cold and uncomfortable. It's not a welcoming place to dine anymore. A completely depressing environment. Everything looks like it's in disrepair and being very poorly maintained. The quality of the meats has gone down as well. The sides were not fresh. Especially the cucumbers. This is no hate to the staff but almost everyone that worked there seemed miserable as well. They did a great job but it just seemed like they all were sad for some reason. I truly think it's the environment. I would hate working at such a depressing restaurant. The staff were attentive and consistently checking on us. They never left us alone for too long! There was one guy with glasses that was exceptional. He was great with the small details of serving. Always pre bused something from the table every time he came by. If you're smart you will bump his hourly and make him a shift manager/ trainer. The staff is the reason I'm not giving one star. Korean culture is vibrant and fun! Please hang up some art work and posters. Hire someone to remove that god awful sticky paint! Which I know you can't clean properly. Change the lightbulbs to warm lighting. Put out some fun decor on the tops of the booths. Make your restaurant into a place people naturally feel happy to be at. Paint over that black wall in the back and fill it from top to bottom with Korean art work as an accent wall! Or put in giant decorative shelves with plants and collectible Korean toys. DO ANYTHING FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.
