It has been a number of years since I've tried Cida, I never really had a taste for it. However, after having my most recent addition to our family I had a hankering for Curry and I needed it! I ordered Red Curry with tofu and Yellow Curry with tofu, one with white rice, the other with flat noodles. In addition, I ordered their Thai Vegetable Fried Rice for the children. I wasn't able to grab a pic since I was famished, but the fried rice was the only thing that looked appealing. There was an abundance of veggies and eggs and it was topped with two lovely cucumber slices. The taste was pretty good, albeit very greasy. To be honest, I'm unsure how it differentiated from typical Chinese fried rice, as it tasted very similar. At $5.99 for a small amount, I would have expected more. The Curries were both so so. I ordered them both to be medium spicy, and the yellow had no hint of spice whatsoever. Each container also didn't have a lot of tofu or veggies. I was also bummed they gave us the smallest container of white rice I've ever seen. It wasn't even filled to the top! The noodles were boiled and sticky, another dissapointment. We also ended up having to cook our own rice in order to finish the Curries. All in all, I don't think it's worth the price. I'm unsure if we will return. read more

Wow, I've had some excellent meals at this restaurant and some really bad ones. After 3-4 really good meals in a row (typically would order the chicken satay appetizer, and the Pad Woosen - my favorite dish on the menu), I took a friend from out of town here for a quick lunch between errands. Food was dreadful. Again the yellow curry was ridiculously thin. My friend thought it was the worst she'd ever had, I had to concur. No flavor at all. I think they must make a spicy yellow curry base and then when you ask for it "mild" they just thin that down with coconut milk until it is what they consider "mild" as opposed to making a nice thick yellow curry and then simply adding more spice if you want it hotter. I have to say that I much prefer the yellow curry at Chai Yo Thai in Westchester (however I prefer the Pad Woosen here). The Satay here was not very good the last time ordered. Meat was rather scrawny and tough and the peanut sauce was blah. Same complaint as first time I ate here. Doubt be eating here much again until I am in the neighborhood and starving for Thai food. But it's really worth the drive to go someone else in my opinion. read more

This has become a weekly stop after work. Even on a week night, the place is quite busy. Not very expensive, but well put together food, this is a better experience than the other Thai places right in downtown Lagrange. I went in for the lunch specials recently since I heard so many good things about Cida Thai. I must admit, everything I ordered was tasty and there was nothing wrong with it at all, but nothing about the place truly impresses. I ordered the beef pad thai lunch with a vege egg roll and chicken and rice soup, all of which were fine, however a bit small. I ended up ordering a portion of crab rangoon to go, which was the best thing I tried, but again, for the price in particular for the rangoon, the portion was a bit undersized. The decor inside is pretty run of the mill in terms of a local Thai restaurant, but they have little vases or glasses of M&M's/DumDums on the table, which are sort of cute/sort of tacky depending on where your sentiment lies. The service was friendly and lightning quick, although I was the only person there at 11:15am. Overall, pretty good. Just wished for a bit more in terms of the portions. read more

Great restaurant!! I'm vegan and when I go to places that have pad thai i ask if the sauce has oyster or fish sauce in it. Usually, restaurants will say "Uhh i have to check in the back" and usually it comes back as a yes. Here, when I asked, my waitress knew right away because the sauce is homemade! This by far has to be the BEST THAI RESTAURANT that we've been to. Let me tell you we've been to over a dozen Thai restaurants in the Chicagoland area. Great food & service. Not to mentioned the prices on the menu are very reasonable. My two favorite dishes are the Pad See Ew beef & Spicy Asparagus Chicken. Actually you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Cida Thai... what can I say, I was quite surprised to enjoy my meal and as well as my family. I haven't found too many good Thai restaurants in the SW Suburbs with good food and decent pricing. The crab rangoon is far the best I've had anywhere here. The fresh spring rolls are so yummy. I want to give this place a fair 3.5 stars, but I'll push it to 4 as its better than a 3 IMO. The noodles or rice dishes are better here than the curries. I've had much better curry elsewhere, but again for the cost, it suffices. I think I love this place more because of those darn yummy crab rangoon's! Oh, in addition, this place is very clean and has a very cutesy style to it. Cheerful, but not distracting. Ok, time to try another Thai place. I browsed some Yelp and found this place is near, so I decided to bite. My initial impression was weak, as their website did not work. I called and asked for an emailed menu, they said they could fax one. I waited for 10 min, called back, and they said it didn't work. Fine, I'll blindly order a lunch special pad thai and some crab rangoons, for pickup. Holy hell was I surprised, everything was absolutely delicious. The pad thai came with an egg roll. I put some of their hot sauce on it because I forgot to order it spicy, it did the trick. You could really taste the crab in the rangoons, they were adequately stuffed and textured perfectly. Second best rangoons I've had next to Thai Pavilion in Dekalb. The included chicken soup was very good, and I'm not a big soup fan. I will definitely order again this week! If you love good quick thai food, do yourself a favor and check out Cida. read more

Great place! BYOB in the burbs is clutch. It was inexpensive and high quality which was SO appreciated. Apparently the owner is the brother the owner of Alt Thai in Arlington Heights which is my favorite! The wait staff was super friendly and prompt. Just over all a great place! I have but one thought that I WISH they'd do over there... Dim the lights. It would absolutely make it 20% greater and a definite repeat. So if the owner is reading this, please buy a dimmer! Visited the restaurant few minutes before 3pm for lunch, took couple minutes to get seated the staff was extremely rude by telling me they would not offer lunch as it is past 3pm. The manager came out to tell they don't make soup after 3pm, it was not relevant as order did not contain soup. Weird! Then the manager lady goes on saying only dinner portion is available rudely. Not sure if staff knows how to talk with customers. Food quality is fine however staff is unprofessional! read more
