This place is nestled in a little pocket along Riverside Dr. There is plenty of parking, so you don't have to be greedy about the parking in the first space you see. The deal is $12 cover at the door, for access to the space and that means all the arcade games you want. They have a lot of classics, like the original Street Fighter, Q Bert, And my personal old time favorite, 1943. They got Bad Dudes, pinball games, skee ball, basketball, Pac-Man, Miss or original, seated or standing. Remember Joust? They have it. It's a cider house and I tried a few ciders. The Skill Check was a good dry cider, the sour lemonade had a good taste to it too. The personal pizzas looked great, but we opted for the smoked wings. If you're into spicy, the spicy habanero peach nectar wasn't too bad. If you're into a sweeter taste, the crack berry BBQ wasn't too bad either. I thought the place was well run. As expected with any arcade some of the games needed maintenance, but that was the exception not the rule. Somebody was picking up drink cups, but I barely saw any around the games - so, maybe , most folks cleaned up after themselves. A lot of the games had a barrel close by or a shelf built into the side of the game. Bathroom was labeled as the Whiz Palace...it was clean and maintained. This was a legit place to spend an afternoon with 2 families that had a wife range of aged children. They have wine as well (which appymlst people were unaware of). Pizza Was Great... Everything Else, Not So Much... Went to Cidercade in Austin on Saturday night and was honestly disappointed. The $12 for unlimited games seemed like a great deal until I realized a bunch of machines were broken or out of service. We ordered the meat lovers pizza, and to be fair it was excellent. Easily the highlight of the night. But everything else was poorly executed. The food kiosk only allowed pizza orders, and if you wanted anything else, you had to go wait in a long, unmanaged bar line. The bartenders didn't do anything to organize the crowd, so unless you were double-fisting drinks or getting a pitcher, you'd be stuck waiting again and again. The bathrooms were filthy, paper towels everywhere and it looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a while. The place also felt way over capacity. It was packed wall to wall, with people constantly bumping into each other, and the A/C clearly couldn't keep up. It got hot and uncomfortable fast. Great pizza, but not enough to outweigh the rest. I always go here when my family in town visiting. I highly recommend going on a week day, or after 8pm. Kids aren't allowed after 8, and on weekdays it's not as crowded. But it definitely limits how long you're able to stay without buying an overpriced drink or tiny pizza. The Cidercade is a super affordable and fun night out. The entrance fee covers unlimited arcade games and pinball. The food/drink is a littler higher price but the Cider is Great and the pizza is pretty good. I really enjoyed the Nidhogg game and you should give it a go! We decided to cool off for a bit by visiting the Cidercade. A flat cost to play any video game you want with no time limit? Yes, please! We were there on a Tuesday morning so it wasn't crowded at all. I could see how it could get very loud on chaotic at a time when kids aren't in school. There are loads of games available for play - skeeball, air hockey, arcade games, pinball machines, carnival-type games. You can definitely find something that calls out to you. We had some drinks but didn't order any food. The drinks were fine but I somehow missed the opportunity to order cider. What the heck was my problem? My husband had a beer which he liked. I had a BeatBox which was one of the grossest things I've tried in a long time....should have had a cider! The outdoor patio was nice and serene. It overlooks the water and even has cute swing-set table options so you can swing while you eat. What a unique and fun idea! My biggest complaints come from (1) cleanliness (I didn't see any outright issues but nothing felt particularly clean to me. The bathrooms weren't pleasant either) and (2) broken games. We tried to play a few games that were out of commission. In order to report the game you have to scan a QR code which then requires you to put in your name, email address and phone number. I'm sorry, I don't have time for that and I don't see why you would need that information - it's not like I qualify for a refund! Hell yes! We had a few hours to our disposal and being pinball enthusiasts we came by Cidercade and we were awestruck by the sheer quantity and quality of games. All the machines were clean and in working order, the staff were incredibly friendly, the place was clean and well lit with outdoor seating. If I could give Cidercade 6 stars, I would. This was hands down the best place we discovered in our trip to Austin! We talk all the time about wishing we had something comparable in NY and how we want to go back to Austin just to go to Cidercade again. Seriously!! The entry cost is low and affordable for all you can play. I was absolutely blown away by the range and selection of arcade games inside. They have everything - the good ones, too, not just the classics. We had an absolute blast. It was a Saturday when we went so it was busy, but we still were able to play all the games we wanted without a long wait. The ciders on tap were fantastic! I am personally a big fan of ciders and would much prefer that over beer, so it was such a treat to find a bar that focused on ciders. We got a few sampler flights and were pleased with each variety. There is a brick oven pizza with a wall kiosk to order from - which was great at the end of the night. I don't recall the pizza being of exceptional quality, but it was in line with what I'd expect from an arcade bar. The back patio is attached to the boardwalk that is scenic and peaceful and a great way to get to other Austin treasures. There were friendly raccoons visiting the deck when we were there. No people or raccoons were harmed, but they did devour someone's unattended leftovers. Writing this review made me want to go back even more. read more

Very fun! Lots of retro and modern games PLUS cider crafted in house and delicious pizza! We came at 7:45 and had to wait in line a bit, but that was in our favor because the Cidercade becomes 21+ only starting at 8pm, so not much of a wait. There's fans outside regardless, so it wasn't horrible. I had fun playing PAC Man, DDR, Air hockey, Skee Ball, and shooters!Highly recommend the Pear and Prosciutto pizza - i loved the balsamic glaze plus the sweet savory contrast of the salty prosciutto and sweet pear. Great selection of ciders also! Choices for those with sweeter and less sweet palettes. We really enjoyed the Rip Mojito (less sweet), TX Strawberry (v sweet), and Lemon Meringue (sweet). Uneven flooring throughout multiple sections! Lots of games for every age and experience level! My boss and I went all in on the arcade basketball, and it was a blast playing with the group on TMNT and Simpson's! I really enjoy the variety of ciders on tap too. Seasonal and all delicious! Boysen the Hood is my favorite hands down, but bananas foster and creamsicle were surprise delights! Their gluten free pizza though? Delicious for what it is for sure! Overcrowded and super noisy. As soon as we walked in it was an overwhelming of noise and activity. The most fun arcade games were always occupied. Many of the tables were full and the bartenders were often not acknowledging us when we walked up to order. I prepaid for our entry and a food combo. Online pricing specified a really good discount for food but in actuality, it's not that much of a savings. We did the cider flight and they didn't have anything to carry them with (typically people get one at a time so they can drink and game). Our favorite was the butterbeer. Not that Cidercade isn't any good, it just feels a bit outdated, but to each their own. If you grew up on arcade games, then this place is 100% for you. There were a few games that were more entertaining for me: NBA Game Time, Skeeball, Pacman Mania, and the shooting games. But, I've realized I'm not much of an arcade gal. The view from the dining area overlooks the river. Beautiful! Now, the negatives. Our large group of 45 was greeted by a rude door man that demanded I.D.'s and spoke with a condescending tone. The wheelchair ramp is not ADA compliant and our wheelchair bound relative could not navigate the narrow ramp. The floors inside the establishment are so uneven that we had difficulty walking and tripped several times. The bathroom stall (men's side) was inaccessible. A standard wheelchair does not even have room to maneuver. All in all Cidercade was a disappointment. I have been to many arcade bars that very beer-focused so this was a nice change. Their ciders, from Bishop Cider, range from dry to sweet and have lots of unique flavors. My favorites were the tiki ciders. I had a fantastic time trying flights of ciders. The $10 admission fee grans unlimited access to the arcade games which is an incredible value and less pressure than having to purchase tokens or use coins. I relived a lot of memories playing some old games and discovered many I had not seen before. The only downside was that they only had "groove" and not the real OG DDR! I freaking LOVE Cidercade Austin -- like genuinely, it used to be one of my favorite places ever. The games are so fun, the food is fire, and the view outside is beautiful. My boyfriend and I literally go 2-3 times a week and spend so much money here. We've always hyped this place up to everyone. But lately? The workers have made it almost unbearable to go. The outside area's already kinda gross (roaches, raccoons, mosquitoes tearing you up bad), and some games stay broken -- but whatever, that's not even the worst part. The staff has the WORST attitude I've ever seen. Like how do you work in an arcade surrounded by games and still be that miserable every day?? We know most of the workers by now, and every week they just get ruder for no reason. We started using the Cidercade app (which is actually super cool) and earned free drinks and free admissions -- fair and square. But every time we go in now, they act mad about it. The front desk dude with the thick eyebrows took all four of my boyfriend's free passes when it was literally just the two of us. Like be serious. Then at the bar, this curly-headed guy straight up ignored us, then got an attitude when we didn't rush to him fast enough. I told him I had a free drink on my boyfriend's account, and he got snappy and started talking to me like I was dumb -- full on explaining things like I was five. Bro was yelling in my face like "YOU SEE WHAT I DID THERE??" when we couldn't even see the screen. So unnecessary. And don't even get me started on the pink-haired girl -- I literally watched her pour my boyfriend's drink, dump it out, and make it again like she added something in between. We left it and dipped because that was weird as hell. At this point it feels like the staff just hates us for coming often or getting in for free sometimes, but we earned that through the app and promotions. We don't bother anyone or cause trouble, but the vibe from them is straight hatred. It sucks because we used to love this place, but the customer service is absolutely disgusting now. Y'all need to check your employees because they're ruining Cidercade's name. We're not coming back for a while -- y'all killed the fun vibe completely. It was freezing in Austin at the time, so it made for a nice indoor activity. Now the part that gets me is that on IG, they make this place look modern and hip but in reality, it feels like I'm stepping into a 90s and is outdated. . I mean they call the bathroom the 'Whiz Palace' which is hilarious. The games have definitely seen better days as most are faded and show their age. But we still had fun. Playing games like Tekken, Mortal Kombat, Time Crisis, and more. The pop a shot and air hockey were also unlimited so we ended up so many games , it felt like a workout. My only gripe is that the racing machines weren't connected to play with others, and lot of the games felt like the reaction times were slow. But for $12 it was still worth it. I mean hey I spent $30 at just pop a shot basketball at the bar the night before lol For drinks they mostly serve ciders, but we opted for their mai tai which was very good. Only $7 and we easily threw down a few of these. They do an adults only after 8pm which is nice if you want to avoid the family crowd. The retro/vintage vibe is always fun! A few of the games were down/not working well but the majority of them worked perfectly fine. I came here for an office party and the atmosphere was just perfect for our holiday party. Most office parties are dull and you count down until the end. This is a perfect place to have space and fun with workmates. The titles of arcade games is varied so try to get a few under your belt and mix it up. It is easy to fixate on an old favorite, I am not here to judge. The cider is the draw right? Hard for me to tell because it is the third thing that I mentioned. Ok, I had fun! Came here for a work thing and I had a really good time. When coming in you have to pay at the door $10 but it's unlimited playing! You pay for any food you want and ciders as well, there is no liquor. We had 3 pizzas, one size thin crust only, and it's about a medium size. They also have wings. As far as ciders, they have sooo many options! I had a Fruit Blast cider and it's about 8% alcohol. I picked this one since it was more hoppy. The pizzas we had were a margarita pizza, Hawaiian, and meat lovers. All very delicious with a melty cheese pull. They had numerous arcade games, pinball machines as well as air hockey, guitar hero and basketball shoots. The VIEWS! This place has outside seating and some tables with swings for seats, so fun! The views are of the city and the new walking bridge alongside lady bird lake. The staff was there for anything you needed and very knowledgeable of the cider selections, so many options can feel overwhelming but they helped by giving samples.
