Came here for brunch on a Sunday with a friend. Looked sketchy at first because you had to take stairs up to the elevator to the rooftop. Get off the elevator and there was yoga happening and they were just wrapping up. Had no idea where to check in because everyone looked liked a regular person idk if they worked here or didn't. So I went straight to the bar and asked and the lovely lady who was literally by herself said to give her second as she was the only person working at the time. I told her no worries and she said to sit down and she would come over to give us menus etc. The roof top was nice. The FOOD was mehhh. Could have been better tbh. However, I dined with a friend and the wait person told us they needed a credit card to hold everything and then they charged her double and when she called back to speak to someone, she never got her money back! This chill and unique spot is a totally new and cool thing in downtown SD. It's been here for less than a year so not too many folks know about it. The view is amazing, fresh air is always a bonus, great drinks and good DJs. Margarita flights is such a great idea! Food is not bad either. I prefer going up the stairs vs taking an elevator from the downstairs restaurant, but it's good to have both options. And having a reasonable public parking garage a block away downtown is always a plus. Check it out, you may decide this is one of your new favorite spots. Terrible experience from the beginning. First and foremost there are zero directions on how to actually find the restaurant, it's hidden with no signage. (It's on top of the sugar factory) Second, the deposit to make the reservation is silly, there are more than enough seating there to just allow for regular reservations. The food and drinks were actually decent, however the food was significantly overpriced and disproportional. They wanted to charge us $10 extra for just a side of chips because there weren't enough for the guac. A little ridiculous if you ask me. The service was terrible and basically nonexistent, our dishes came out in three waves within 30 minutes. The people that go there are also very uncourteous and get up in your space to try and take photos because of the backdrop. Needless to say im probably not going back there until they get their shit together. lastly, there's a mandatory 20% tip added to all checks which makes sense considering they don't actually give you good service and that must be the only way the servers can get paid. read more

The tacos here made me love and crave it everyday. They are only open Thursday to Saturday, so make sure to come here for an early dinner on the weekend! We returned the ceviche though because it had a hair in it. They charge a 5% fee and if you split the bill they will charge it on each bill. The venue itself is gorgeous, upstairs on the terrace, the only thing that was odd, is walking through another restaurant (within Sugar Factory) to get upstairs.
