This is a small, quaint and cozy restaurant. They have great food and reasonably priced along with good service.

Recently ordered from Cilantro expecting them to have cut back due to covid and happily realized they were still serving large portions of their delicious and always amazingly spicy food!! Highly recommend!! Only negative is their salsa...its has a weird sweet taste to it. Everyone who has tried it says their not a fan. Hopefully they'll revisit thet recipe!! read more

We came upon this hidden gem in a strip mall. From the outside, looks like a regular place, once inside, we found it enchanting. The hostess/server was welcoming. We were the only patrons, and nonetheless, she was glad to see us. We ordered, good prices. When the food arrived, the portions were large, the food authentic and extremely good. Full bar, good food and a welcoming environment, we were home!!!! We will return on our next trip, well worth it!!! read more

Very, very good burrito. Best in the area. Unlike others, you definitely get more than what you pay for. The complimentary chips and salsa were a very nice touch, the salsa was very good and flavorful. The ambience and the vibe is where it loses the stars. We walk in, one server pretends she didn't see us and continues what she's doing, and the other one points (rather reprimandingly) to a table in the corner. Very offputting. She took our order and forgot to give us our drinks, the table next to us that came after got theirs first and we had just ordered sodas. Despite that, our server was very nice, I think it's just a major understaffed problem. We were put in a table in a corner, about two feet away from another table. Not cool. The lack of privacy made me very uncomfortable coupled with the high temperature and overall stuffy feeling. I am sorry but I can't agree with other reviews/ratings. Went in for lunch and was the only person there. I ordered the chicken fajita wrap and was very disappointed. The wrap was not rolled properly and upon picking it up , it fell apart completely. Then decided to eat with a fork and it was basically a pepper and onion wrap- hardly any chicken to be found. Would have to say 85% of the filling was peppers and onions. Very disappointing. No reaction from the server when he saw my plate of peppers and onions and the uneaten tortilla. The price reflected the high current prices for the ingredients- but was money wasted by me. read more

worst place I ever ate at. took my son for lunch. he ordered tacos and I got a chimichanga both with chicken. Chicken was boiled, shredded and very wet. there was no flavor to it, bland and no color to it. the chimichanga was soggy because the chicken was so wet and my sons tacos were very wet as well. After doing my workout I got out kind of late and found Cilantro open till 10 a nice surprise walked in and did not expect a full bar with different types of tequila. Sure wish I could give less than a star. I also wish I had read the reviews before going to this establishment. I am going to deconstruct the entire meal. If you are the owners of the restaurant take this as constructive criticism for the 50 dollars that was embezzled out of me today. It was God awful from the moment I walked in. I came there based on a recommendation. I will strangle that person later, but for now I need to focus on this experience. It was not good. It was far from being like maybe they had an off day. It was cringe worthy from walking in to the time we left. First thing that caught my eye was walking in and seeing mozzarella sticks and potato skins on the specials board. I should have made an about-face right at that moment, but was willing to give it a chance. Actually, better yet the first sign was their website and looking for the menu. Click on lunch and dinner and nothing listed. Clicked on their catering menu and they had Mexican and Italian food offetings. I will let that slide too for now. This establishment gave chips and salsa. I ordered a prickly pear Margherita and my girlfriend ordered a Pina colada. The chips were fine but the salsa was awful. It tasted like we'll based on past retorts by the owners of using fresh ingredients, they used fresh ketchup mixed in orange juice with chunks of yellow onion and tomatoes and added sugar to an already pungent salsa. My biggest question for the owners is, do you taste the creations that are made in back of the house? The salsa was made fresh but it stunk and your recipe for it stinks! Now on to the drinks. This fine establishment looks well equipped with a good bar, by that I mean selection of beers, wine, and spirits. I just have some minor flaws that I noticed. When serving a frozen drink like a Pina colada don't use a cocktail stirring straw, the hole is too small to suck up ice chunks. The other thing was get a better blender like a vitamix for frozen drinks. You want consistency with everything including drinks. My Margarita was fine and not sure of the traditional use of the rim of the glass but hated the salt and would have preferred nothing or sugar but like I said I don't know what is customary so no real qualms there. On to the main course. My girlfriend ordered seasoned chick quesadillas they looked okay and the chicken was dry. It was accompanied with Pico de Gallo, sour cream, and guacamole. The pico was sad no flavor. The guacamole was sadder, do you want to know why? When you come to a place called cilantro you would like to think that some if not all of the parts would be centered around this wonderful herb that brings food alive and gives it flavor. This guacamole lacked soul, it lacked essence, and it certainly lacked cilantro. The namesake of the place was lacking in the salsa and the pico de gallo. This place should be called Lacking Cilantro...it would be more accurate of a name for this place. Okay now on to my dish. It is the one dish I order any time I go to a Traditional Mexican restaurant. It is enchiladas con Pollo en mole, here it had poblanos added to the name. A mole sauce is described as having 20 some odd ingredients...chilis, cocoa, and other traditional ingredients that is reduced and made in to a thick sauce. I have even seen it paste like in consistency. This was chicken enchiladas in a mole soup. I was also expecting the cheese to be melted on top but was served with lettuce and cheese that was not melted. It was so far from what I remotely anticipated. There was also an issue with being too heavy handed with salt in much of the food I ate. Too much in the rice and beans. Most of my leftover food will have to be thrown out and I really hate to waste food even if it is poorly made. I need one thing answered by the owners. Do you taste the food you make and put out to customers? It is a simple task, with a clean fork taste the rice...taste the beans, taste the chicken and the guacamole. Then ask yourself would you like eating it? In short I was thoroughly disappointed. I was so disappointed I needed to say this so other people do not fall victim to the mediocrity of the food your establishment puts out. I have lived in Fishkill for 4 months now, and today was the first and last time I will visit your establishment. I will advise others Taco Bell and buying Tequila from Viscount Liquor store is a better solution. If you want a better place. Avacados on route 82 is far better and I will probably be faithful customer to them over cilantro any day! read more

We tried the restaurant since it was relatively close to our hotel. Not the best Mexican we've ever had. We went for dinner, and since there were quite a few people inside, it was hard to hear ourselves talk. I think the sound echoes quite a bit off the walls! It will be disappointing for those who order from the vegetarian portion of the menu. The vegetables were extremely peppery and the tortillas for the fajitas had a strange taste to them (it might be because it comes in a container that is lined with styrofoam). I too was skeptical about going to eat here, not being from the area and having friends from out of state we took a chance and we are glad we did. Food was very good and tasty. The service was so accommodating since we were with 3 kids. We all ordered a strong plate, guacamole for app and about 5 beers and wine and our bill was surprisingly low. I enjoyed the salsa, it didn't taste like it was from a jar. It had a nice smoky/chipotle component. The first time here I had gotten their enchiladas with a spicy green sauce which I really enjoyed. One of our favorite Mexican restaurants pre-Covid, afraid we forgot about it with the pandemic (we live a little ways away). Anyway, went tonight and were not disappointed. Food here is consistently perfect! From the really great fresh salsa and chips, to the main entrees, we were not disappointed. Camarone dishes are amazing, I had camarones with poblamos and avocado salsa, what a great dish. My husband ordered his favorite Enchiladas Salsa Verda, excellent as always. This is a gem of a restaurant, so glad it has survived the pandemic, but please consider if you love Mexican food. read more

Went to this Mexican restaurant because I was starving and wanted a torta so bad! And my sister was craving tacos. So we googled it and it came up. We passed by on a Tuesday afternoon. Woman there was very pleasant. We got food to go so didn't really get the whole experience. I got the torta de milanesa and my sister got tacos de carnita. The carnita in the tacos was superb. Not greasy at all, very clean and trim. Delicious. My torta was amazing as well. Tons of jalapeños. So good! They could use a side of French fries with the order since it's $8 for the sandwich alone. Other traditional places charge no more than $5.50 for just the sandwich. So it was a little pricey. If you want to splurge a bit then go ahead. read more

This place might be the best kept secret in Fishkill. First, our Server Alfy was amazing, attentive, and on the ball! He had a contagious smile! We had a mexican seafood cocktail as an appetizer, you can tell how fresh the seafood was! We both had steak! One NY strip cilantro and the othet was a spicy skirt steak. The margaritas were tasty, a little small, but i lived lol.The last 2 times they didnt have the jalapeno baked clams too bad cuz they are the mexican version of baked clams YUMMY. Best Mexican food in the area. We've been going for over 6 years. Most other local places are very Americanized and give VERY little meat/cheese with nachos or wraps (burritos, chimichangas). It is not cheap but the portions are family size. They offer the usual courtesy of fresh chips and salsa. Also to note, this place makes by far the best guacamole I've ever tried as is the pico de gallo, and I notice in other places these things have a very funny tinge that you'd never find here. Their flan was very good but it is no longer made. There are also some non-Mexican choices on the menu. They offer coffee, which is good if your party wants to stay for a full course of meals. This is a strip mall place, so the service is not going to be "diner fast". read more

When you walk in, it has a very quaint and charming decor so you have great expectations. We had gone in towards the end of the dinner service (but not at closing time) and we were the only ones in the restaurant. In spite of this, we still had somewhat slow service, which was perplexing since it didn't look like our waitress was doing anything but standing around (she wasn't cleaning up or anything). Took my two teen children along with their uncle and cousin for a late day meal. The chips were somewhat stale and cold. The salsa was chunky and has a nice touch of smokey BBQ flavor. Had the steak fajitas: the meat was fairly good, the skillet was overflowing with peppers and onions causing a great deal of water to pool on the skillet. Most of the plates seemed warmNOT hot of sizzling as one would expect from a fajita skillet. The rice was fairly good. The steak burrito was well portioned as was the mole chicken enchiladas.
