I have heard a lot of good things about this place and I wanted to treat myself to a burger for lunch today. Cin Cin for sure lives up to the hype. I decided to get the Juice Joint Dipper burger which features Swiss cheese, aioli, caramelized onions, and two onion rings sandwiched between a bun and some beef. The burgers are cooked to order too, so I got mine medium and was satisfied with the amount of pink inside. This is a THICK burger. I started out eating it with my hands and switched to a knife and fork later on. The only complaint I have is that I don't feel like putting the pieces of parchment paper in the platter under the burger is a good idea. Since I'm sure Cin Cin chefs are aware that many people end up eating their burgers with utensils, I think they should probably just leave the burger on a plate with no paper underneath, because I probably ended up eating some of the paper. Based on their description and great reviews, I had high hopes for this place. What I wound up experiencing was one of the strangest tasting burgers I've ever had. The edges of the patty had an "off" taste--reminiscent of that porcine smell that is present when pork skins are involved in pork products--only bovine in this case. It was not detectable so much in the interior, where I suppose it was masked by the toppings. But at the edge, it was off putting. I believe this is the first time in my life that I have not finished a hamburger placed before me. I just don't know what happened here--my experience was so different from others'-- but the beef patty just tasted weird. The fries are very unique. Very fat with soft potato and an occasional crisp on the outside and a unique shape, I'm still not even sure how I feel about them. They are good, I suppose, but I prefer a good old fashioned hand cut fry. The place was not busy, and it took entirely too long for me to get my food. The price was high and the server was aloof. They are shooting for a speakeasy theme, and indeed the decor inside is very attractive and inviting. So take note of that, wash your hands after touching the menu (just to be safe) or use sanitizer/wipes. They offer indoor and covered outdoor seating, we sat outside. They have a good amount of items to choose from, not just burgers! You can also customize the type of burger meat (chicken, bison, turkey or Garbanzo bean). Started off with "Morning After Mules" and I decided to go for the "No Money, No Honey" burger which had Goat cheese (one of my fave cheeses), bacon, lettuce, and sweet pepper jelly. The Jelly and the Goat cheese compliment each other SO well! I asked for extra jelly on the side so I can dip my fries in (trust me, so good). I also ordered a side house salad with the Greek vinaigrette, delicious! I've always done the build your own burger and LOVE that they have regular, tasty beef burgers, but also healthy, chickpea burgers for no extra charge. You can make it as bad or as healthy as you'd like! Cin Cin is one of our more frequented restaurants in the area. We've taken quite a few out-of-town visitors here because it's typically trusty! Depending on when you go, it can get pretty busy and service can be slower than normal. However, I have gone on several random weeknights and had superb waitstaff. The burgers are amazing - definitely their menu highlight! Their flapper fries are also a must-have. They have some pretty good drink specials, too. Their margaritas were a little sweet for my taste, but their bloody mary was spot on. I'm curious about the adult shakes but haven't taken the plunge yet. Had lunch on a weekday here. The service and food were both great! It's an I testing vibe too: like western sports bar meets speakeasy. We started with the Giggle water onion rings, served with champagne sauce which was like your typical "orange sauce" but with a hint more sweetness. The onion rings were large, well battered, and dusted with parmesan! I had the Southern Belle burger (basically their version of a Carolina burger) and it was great! The slaw and chili were delicious. The sweet potatoes fries were also great but maybe a tiiiiny bit tough (probably could have come out of the fryer a split second earlier). My friend built his own chicken sandwich and basically recreated a Chik-fil-a sandwich with a side of their garlic broccoli. This was a really nice restaurant, from the host to the atmosphere and presentation of food. I had the Saganaki Chicago Flame and a Key West Cracker Milkshake. This milkshake was so creamy and tasted like a smooth key lime pie. The Saganaki Chicago Flame was really cool when they lit the brandy on it on fire and cooled it down with some lemon juice which put out the flame and served with fresh pita chips. They had a really good selection of food and dessert. The milkshakes can even have alcohol added. They had a nice outdoor seating area but we enjoyed the large round booth type table. I am from Winston-Salem originally, but now live in Raleigh. My parents still live here so I am in town often. I was home for a few days and my mother and I decided to go out to lunch and she suggested Cin Cin. I had never been before, but heard great things about it. Crazy enough, I wasn't really in the mood for a burger, but they have a large selection of food other than burgers. They have lunch options that change periodically. I ordered the Havana Bowl from the lunch menu. The Havana Bowl was a pretty healthy option with chicken, quinoa, grilled pineapples, avocados, and more. The bowl was very fresh and filling. I didn't feel guilty eating it. My mom ordered the Rodeo Burger on Texas Toast and sweet potato fries. I did taste her burger and it was good and cooked correctly. She ordered it well done, but it was not overcooked or burnt (which can happen a lot when you order well done). Tried something new today with the cream cheese chicken sandwich, crispy fries that are unique and delicious and a bottled cream soda. Won't be your cheapest lunch spot but it's good. We wanted to sit inside which was empty but they put us out in the tent instead - not everyone wants to sit in your tent - was with a group of 7 and outside has a few flies buzzing around - the actual restaurant is half the experience and being pushed to the tent outside means we might as well pick up food to go - if it's busy it's a totally different thing but if you ask preference you should then comply with what we say. My chicken and waffles were just what I needed: Fully spiced chicken, and perfectly crunchy/soft waffle. I'll also note that we discovered one item was left off our long and complicated order, and my staffer neeeeeeded her dessert (everything was so good, she didn't want to miss out). When she called in, someone from CinCin brought peach cobbler to us - almost a half hour away. That is above and beyond what we expected! Cin Cin was clean and the staff was distanced and masked. Tonight we tried the beef jerky appetizer-so tender, onion rings with giggle sauce-I cannot describe how great they were, eggplant fries, bourbon burger and the southern belle burger-all equally great. Cin Cin Burger BAR was out of this world - figuratively and literally. When you walk through the doors, you immerse yourself in a throwback culture that is everything 1920s. From the intricate wall decor to the pulley-system ceiling fans, this place takes you back in time. Beside their beautiful interiors, the real delight was the food. We decided to try what was advertised in the restaurants name (burgers), and we were not disappointed. For someone who always gets the same burger toppings at every restaurant, I decided to stray from the norm, and branch out into the inviting burger combinations that CinCin offered. 10 minutes after we placed our order we received our burger & fries, and 5 minutes after that, I had sucked it all in. The burger was magnificent - juicy, decadent and cooked to perfection. The good thing with Cin CIn's burgers is that they are cooked with Bison instead of cow meat, so I left the restaurant feeling full and happy. Normally burgers lead to indigestion, but the bison meat was easy to digest and made me feel full and content the rest of the day. My companion had the steak with potatoes and broccoli.. the broccoli was drenched in garlic and I love garlic, it was just overpowering.
