I was in Cinder Bar July 6, ,2023 for my boyfriend birthday. We love this place but on this particular day it was so hot and humid in the buildlong. We ask about the air conditioning and we were told that it wasn't working correctly. I ask to speak to the the manager and she was nice and sweet and apologized for the inconvenience. She state that it was out of her hands I hope that the the Operation manage and or owner please correct the problem and get some air conditioning in the building . This was a much needed little bar pizza joint in East Greenwich. I lived in the area for a few years and recently came back to visit and was super excited to try it out! We came on a Monday evening right after work hours and had no wait to be seated, which was as to be expected. The waitress was knowledgeable and checked back quite often. After some deliberation, we opted for the margarita pizza to share and i also tried out the oven fired chicken wings. They were dry rubbed which in the end made them look like they were burned, but they were not. They were literally fall of the bone GOOD. Mhmmm mhmmm! I dipped them in the hot buffalo sauce- they leave this part up to you. I must say, this wasnt the cleanest meal and I might not have looked so lady like but man was it good. The pizza was also good for a bar pizza. I think somewhere around $13 dollars. We decided to finish the meal with the fresh baked chocolate cookie that came in a little skillet....ohhhhh so good. I was so into the cookie and whipped cream that I didnt even notice the ice cream on top! My MIL chose to dig into that part. Overall, I found this venue to be good and the food pretty yummy. I've been to cinder bar a few times for dinner and happy hour. It's always been decent, but never over the top meal or drinks. Their dinner menu has everything from a numerous amount of appetizers- including bang bang shrimp which is my favorite to woodfire pizzas, sandwiches, and other entrees. One will always find SOMETHING they would like with it being so many options. The drinks are on the pricier side but they have a variety of mixed drinks to almost every beer imaginable. It's located in a strip mall with gym, other restaurants, and brewery and definitely needs to add a lot more spots to their parking lot. Last weekend we decided to check out their brunch, it was pretty good. It was packed for Sunday and I would recommend next time making a reservation, even though we didn't have to wait. The service was well, our waitress was attentive and would check in a lot even for being busy. The Bloody Mary/ mimosas were good, however, on the pricier end for what you are getting. They do offer a variety of mimosa flavors. I got the waffles with walnut and apple with a dressing. It was delicious, however, the cream was overwhelmingly rich and was too much on a waffle, for breakfast. It would have been a lot better if the dressing was a lot less or cane on the side. I was excited for home fries, but when they came out it was sliced potatoes, not the home fries that I'm use to. So I returned to Cinder Bar about a year after my last review. I have been there twice in that span. I'll give the place this, it is consistent to my last review. We arrived around 5:15 on a Saturday. My wife, our 9 year old daughter and me. As I stated before I think it is a kid friendly place to go early without feeling weird about it. We were promptly seated, as always. I will say the service this time was somE of the best I have experienced there in the past. Our table was not in the same drink time table so the server was definitely running a little more then usual. I even apologized about it. She was really good and attentive. Their drink program seems solid. With a lot of choices and various whiskey and ryes. Start with the positives, they make a really great pizza. Their dough and crust are some of the best. But, like last time, the pizzas themselves are uninspired and very repetitive. I hate to label the next section as negative, do it will just be addressed as areas to improve. No need to label your wings as wood fired. You are not par cooking them in there, so you are just reheating them in there imparting no flavor. And because I am sure the oven is pretty packed with pizzas, your best seller, the wings are not in thee long enough to even get crispy. Some how the fried ones did not come out crispy, and neither did the lightly fried shrimp, the flavor however was a pretty good Korean sweet chili. My wife had the risotto, I really did not try it to be able to offer an honest critique. I ordered the muffuletta. I had entered the place under my own suggestion, I really want to like it. The decor is nice. It's convenient and kid friendly, everything we look for in a place when it's all three of us. I did not have any idea what I was in the mood for when we arrived. But when I saw muffuletta, I was hooked. Perhaps part of the encounter is my own fault, after I saw the title, I did not read any further. I was dreaming about the crusty sesame seed bread with Italian meats and that olive spread, my mouth is watering just typing that. When it arrived, I thought it was brought to the wrong table. Some meats, with arugula, I love arugula so I was excited, and olive spread so sparse I thought it fell on my sandwich by mistake, on soft flatbread with no crust or sesame. Just some Sysco bought bread, with the words wood fired on the menu description. I am all for taking liberty in interpreting a classic dish, but you need to incorporate the staple ingredients some how. The bread and the olive spread are the keystones of the dish, you need to represent them. Also had the truffle fries again. They were better then last attempt. Place has tons of potential but just needs some culinary guidance and fine tuning. I will try again in future, although not sure when. read more

Even during COVID the service is exceptional. Their outdoor dining area is pet friendly, and it's easy to "bar hop" from Death of the Fox to Cinder Bar for a casual date night. All of the food is great - from brunch to dinner. I highly suggest the Bang Bang Shrimp as an appetizer, followed by the Ahi Tuna dish as an entree. What a fun night here! Although it was a busy Friday night we got set up with their text message system and went to the bar for a drink. They will send you a text when your table is ready. Love that! Table didn't take too long and they have an amazing menu, bourbons, and beers. Once Seated, we ordered the short rib pizza which was so good with the truffle oil. Loved their wings. The dry rub wings are sweet yet smoky. Loved the edamame ravioli. And loved the cheesesteak rolls. No complaints on anything. The atmosphere is fun and the place has a great industrial look to it. This is literally one of my favorite places to go. To do it right, you have to just get small plates with a large group of friends. Perfect for a birthday celebration or just a migration from the brewery next store. Bang-bang shrimp and the cheese steak spring rolls are probably my two favorite foods on the planet, and they do it so right here. They also have poutine... it's pretty bangin. This place is pretty good, and a definite step above many of the other bars in the area. For one, the food selection offers a real variety without being an overblown "diner" menu. There are great small plates (always have to get the perogies), excellent wood fired pizzas (love the short rib and caramelized onion pie especially), and a nice assortment of salads, sandwiches and entrees to balance out the selections. There are also some very yummy specialty and old fashioned cocktails and punches available to complement the standard bar offerings. I only have two quibbles that keep me from going back more frequently. One, I feel like the draft beer selection could be better with some more unique and varied craft offerings especially. Offerings like Yards, Blue Moon, and Sam Adams really aren't a big thrill, especially considering they are located right next door to an outstanding craft brewery (Death of the Fox). I took a friend here who is a big beer aficionado and he was quite disappointed in the beer menu; he decided to save his beer drinking for a stop next door after our meal. Second, they do make a point to tell you that dishes come out in whatever order they're ready (like many small plates/tapas places I've been in Philly and elsewhere). Which is fine if you're in a grazing mode, but makes it a little difficult to try to plan a more organized "meal" (or can be awkward if some people get all their ordered dishes right away and others are waiting around.) The pizza always seems to come out super-fast, while sometimes we've waited quite a long time then for simple things like the wood fired asparagus. All in all this place just merits a solid 3* rating for now, improving the beer options especially would get me to come back more frequently. read more

Live music, loud yet family-friendly crowd, and good food. I highly recommend the Cinder Bar for a night out, it's unlike any other restaurant in the area. The table agreed that the pizza and bada bang shrimp were phenomenal. We were disappointed in the grilled cheese because the apricot spread made it incredibly sweet. Our drinks were sooo strong. I had to ask for some Sprite to be added to my Rabbit Punch to soften the taste of bourbon, also the "punch" is not sized "to share" as the menu says. Previously I've had the New England Shrimp Roll which was great, but would have been better warm. The Sriracha Deviled Eggs were good with a small kick. read more

Came here around 9:30 on a Friday to meet some friends. They said it is usually dead but on this particular night they have a band which brought an insane crowd. The place was mobbed. Parking was difficult. Getting inside was difficult. Walking around the place was difficult. Getting a drink was difficult. Getting a table was difficult. There was a $5 cover charge which they said never happens. It was cool that they have an app that shows you how many parties are ahead of you on the waitlist. In our case we were at a standstill for a while, I guess because everyone was staying for the music. This seems a little unfair to me in a way. It's not a concert with VIP Tables. I don't think you should be able to take up a table for the whole night when other people are honestly just there to have dinner and drinks and don't even know the band...or enjoy them ( in my case). They served my amaretto sour in a tall glass which has never happened before. They also served it without a cherry. I was surprised and didn't think it was my drink because of these two things. I tasted it. Indeed it was my drink! It was quite delicious. When we finally got a table, our server came right over. She was friendly and efficient, even in the midst of the pandemonium. She kept our water glasses filled, which I appreciated and made sure we had everything we needed. They have a "free flowing kitchen" which is one of the dumbest concepts I've ever observed. I've seen places do something similar to this but not to this degree. So a free flowing kitchen means everything comes out as it's ready with no set time in between things. So our friend got his meal first, a few minutes later my fiancé got his, then we were waiting...and waiting...and waiting for my other friend's food. The waitress apologized and said the salmon takes the longest. My friend kept telling her husband and my fiancé to eat so their food didn't get cold but these are gentlemen, so they were not going to eat before her food arrived. It's just so bizarre. You're going out to enjoy a meal together. Who wants to eat alone if they get their food first or last? Who wants to eat their food before their significant other instead of with them? I just don't think the concept really works. It doesn't seem to serve a purpose. What is the purpose??? Everyone said the food was good...wings, cedar plank salmon with Brussels sprouts, rigatoni and meatballs. I just came for the company and drinks because I already ate. One strange thing was the buffalo sauce was served on the side of the buffalo wings instead of on them. We weren't sure why. My fiancé also asked for ranch instead of blue cheese. It said blue cheese on the menu but she said "they don't come with blue cheese but I can give you ranch." Um, ok. It was a bit of a strange experience overall but given the fact that the cover band filled up the place with an older crowd screaming along to Journey, I would be willing to try it again on a regular day and see how that goes. I am still not in love with the way the kitchen runs and I feel like most people would agree. Hopefully they change that soon. The shopping center itself is relatively new and very nice. read more

This place is ridiculously overpriced! I guess with all the new money and white collar types moving from PA to the surrounding areas, a place like this was inevitable. While Cinder Bar is clean and aesthetically pleasing, the place is a money trap. They have a great selection of craft brews, but they are pricey and in small containers such as 10, 12, and 13 oz glasses. No bang for your buck. Other places still give you a pint. I've had the food before, but found it to be nothing special. Here was the final nail in the coffin. Went in last week and didn't see anything I like on tap, so I ordered a 16oz can of Boom Sauce IPA. They charged $12. I've gotten it in Philly before, but the most I've ever paid for a can of that was $7.50. Ridiculous. These are NYC prices. While I'm hardly poor, I don't like wasting my money. Let the yuppies pay through the nose. There are other places in the area that offer way better food and drink at a reasonable price. I'll spend my hard-earned money elsewhere. Update 02-29-2020: This is just a response to the comment posted by the manager for Cinder Bar. First, he suggests that my criticism was based on "one beer." Not true. I've stopped in there several times over the years. It sure seems to me that the amount of beer you get has changed for the worse. Very few craft beers come in pints. Many come in smaller glasses, thus raising the per ounce cost of the drink. Many other places in the surrounding area still serve craft brews in pints. More beer for your dollar. Second, the craft beer I referred to, Boom Sauce, only comes in 16oz cans, so no, it wasn't a smaller can I got somewhere else for less money. It was the same exact beer in the same size can. Once again, the most I've ever paid for a 16oz can of Boom Sauce, even in pricey Philly, was $7.50. That's $4.50 less than Cinder Bar soaked me. The price difference is ridiculous. No can of beer should be $12. I understand management has to come on here and defend their establishment and try to negate my negative review, but facts are facts. I stick by my assertion that the place is overpriced, food is so-so, and there are better options in the area. read more

Gloucester County's new hot spot. If you are looking to get seated right away on a winter night, think again. The parking lot is always full to the point there are cars circling for spots. Their pizza is outstanding, I haven't been disappointed with any of my pizza choices yet. They have outside seating for summer days and a brewery next store (to help with 45 minute waits some nights) (also another favorite spot of mine)-- if you are a fan of the Pubs in Logan and Township (NJ) ; definitely worth a stop. read more

Parking sucks! With that being said everything else here was awesome. The entire place bathrooms included was clean. Service was excellent. Beer selection was excellent. I was actually surprised by the amount of beers to choose from. We ordered 2 appetizers for the table and 3 pizzas. Everything was amazing. No doubt we will be back.
