The good: the restaurant is cute, clean, and had a nice environment including a brick oven. The blood orange margarita was solid and the kale dip with the homemade bread was tasty. The bad: the restuarant is definitely mismanaged and the employees are a joke. Our waitress messed up our order of two appetizers and two drinks. The restaurant wasn't even busy.The hostess by the door could not tell me what time they closed or when the kitchen closed. I have never experienced anything like it my life. Conclusion: Good food and drinks but poor service. The staff mainly sat in a corner. I blame this on a lack of good management. This was our second visit. Our first visit was awesome. It was so good the first time I even ordered the same thing because I enjoyed it the first time. We got the cheesesteak egg rolls and the pierogis. Both of them were excellent. The pierogis had really great flavor and the wrapper on the egg roll was really good. My husband ordered the Cubano and he liked it but not as much as the shrimp roll he had the first time. I ordered the chicken and waffles. It was excellent the first time we went so I was really looking forward to having it again. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. My dish arrived and the chicken was over cooked. The breading was way overdone and it was so obvious that I can't even believe they brought it out that way. I hate to complain though so I figured I'd try to just flake some of the breading off and deal. I took a bite of the chicken and chewed and chewed but didn't get anywhere. I finally had to spit it in my napkin. I ended up sending it back. The waitress apologized and took it back. A manager came out and said they were remaking it but he never actually apologized. By the time my new dish came my husband had finished his meal. My chicken looked and tasted much better this time. Unfortunately, the waffle was good the first time but the second time it was dry and crumbly. As I cut my food the waffle just crumbled all over the plate. I ended up eating half. In the end they never even offered a discount or anything to make up for it. That offer would have been a nice gesture. So I really don't think we will be back. Although Cinder Bar is nice. The staff needs to be trained better. They are a bunch of kids. Sat the entire night with dirty dishes on our table. When we asked if they could take them Savanna said "it's not my job' so after I cleared it myself I put it on the empty table next to us. Then watching another server who was done her shift, fold napkins at a table with a guy and baby while she ate food, wiped her face and then folded napkins now that is sanitary.retrain your staff. read more

Been wanting to try this place out for a while now, heard nothing but good things. There was an hour wait but the outside standing tables are perfect to get a couple drinks while you wait for your table. Food was delicious and not over priced. Really good service overall. Oh and an acoustic solo singer who was hidden in the corner and we couldn't figure out if the music was live or taped for half of dinner (always a good debate to have). I've had better brick oven pizza from REAL brick ovens imported from Italy. It seems they are targeting a higher-end audience in an area which isn't quite high-end as it's located down the street from a truck stop. I've seen past reviews where management blasts the reviewer with fancy words and scientific language about the handcrafted ice cubes but I feel on a site like yelp, it is important to not be too full of yourself. We've only lived in the area since September 2016 but we've been to Cinder Bar several times. I have liked all the menu items I have tried. My favorite pizza is the short rib. I initially tried it because I just couldn't picture it. But it's delicious and now I rarely make a trip to Cinder Bar without including it. I have tried a couple of the specialty salads and they were tasty and plentiful; you won't mind sharing. One of my favorite starters is the Brussels sprouts and my favorite dessert is the chocolate chip cookie skillet. The ambience and decor at Cinder Bar are warm and inviting and all our servers have been friendly. It is a little on the loud side, so if you need a quiet and soothing dining experience, you might want to try Dragon Nest down the road. read more

Went there for brunch recently and I would not go again, not for brunch anyway and I'll tell you why. It is all Southwestern style food. I guess thats the theme of the restaurant and that's fne but when we ordered the food I began to realize why it's called "Cinder Bar" First the hash browns, they were way overcooked and nearly burnt version of shredded potatoes. Didn't even finish it My daughter wanted something more traditional which most of the menu items are not. so she ordered Eggs , a side of bacon and hashbrowns. the eggs were fine but the bacon was also overcooked and nearly burnt to a crisp. Very unenjoyable. I mean I like crispy bacon but that was straight up slightly less than burnt bacon. Dried out and crumbly. Needless to say my daughter didn't eat it and she loves bacon. Who doesn't am i right? Oh and I have to comment on the candied bacon. I have had candied bacon before when it was fresh and piping hot and soft, This was not that. It was bacon coated in some sort of candy and stuck in the fridge. It was cold and crunchy and it sticks to your teeth really bad. I took some home and stuck it in the mic for a few seconds and this gave it a more desirable texture/flavor and it didn't stick to my teeth. They should serve this warm in the future in my opinion. They also serve some brunch cocktails which were fine. I had some espresso cocktail and found it to be enjoyable. Oh if you have any aversion to onions like I do then make sure you order everything without onions because it is a SouthWestern style restaurant and EVERYTHING is slathered in onions. I will eat them but don't prefer them. The truffle fries were amazing and are served in a generous portion. Expect to spend some money here. Came to around 90 bucks for a family of four. This place is AMAZING. They have unique foods, I always get the mac and cheese because it's awesome. But I was craving a salad, but the last time I went there I was going to get one but they said the salad was actually grilled, which turned me off because I wasn't sure how it would taste. ATMOSPHERE We have only been here during late afternoon/early evenings so I can't speak as to what the nighttime crowd is like. They have a main dining room area + bar. They play Classic Rock music in the background (not too loud, perfect). They have free cell phone USB charging stations at the bar. Age range is early 20's to 50+'s. They do wood-fired, thin-crust pizza here. As a reference, the pizza style is kind of similar to Treno (Westmont, NJ) and Zavino Wine bar (Philly). FOOD : Candied Bacon - This was very good, we savored little bites at a time, the sweet and salty bacon paired perfectly with our beer. (would be good for dessert, why not!) : Quiona Tabbouleh - Nice presentation but was lacking in flavor and dry. Perhaps a little more lemon and olive oil? Maybe couscous would of worked better.... : Cheese Steak Eggrolls - Very good. The wrapper was crispy, the beef was moist and the cheese was evenly melted. The spicy ketchup paired well with the rolls. : Smokey Margherita Pizza - This was a watery mess. As we preceded to pick up a slice & do the one handed pizza fold, it drooped down & the cheese and sauce fell off the slices. Perhaps this type of mozzarella has a higher moisture content? In fairness, if you resist temptation & allow the pizza to settle for a few minutes, it will tighten up a bit. : Mayalina Pizza - E X C E L L E N T! The bottom of the crust was crispy. The sausage and pepperoni tasted of quality. We would order this again. DRINKS Decent craft beer selection (Cape May, Spellbound, Forgotten Boardwalk, etc.) Though, on two of our visits many of the beers that I desired were kicked. The beer menu (paper) is kind of haphazard, would love to see a digital board (similar to the Pour House in Westmont). They have a decent whiskey selection. Similar to bars such as the Franklin Mortgage and 1Tippling Place (Philly), they are doing craft-cocktails (freshly squeezed juices, spices, ice cubes from steam distilled/purified water, etc.). We had two mixed drinks and they were done proper. SERVICE: Our server was friendly and attentive. Our water glasses were refreshed in a timely manner. The bathrooms were clean. It's ok. It fell super short of expectations. The Margherita con Burrata was wet, flimsy and tasteless. The wings were mushy but the sweet thai chili sauce was not to bad. The Bada Bing Shrimp were over cooked and chewy. The saving grace was the cheesesteak egg roll. Needless to say it's nice new place, but the food is not good at all. Last time we went I had the pork chop with seasonal stuffing and asparagus, the stuffing was too sweet for me, the grilled asparagus was yummy. The pork chop was good but it needed a sauce. So, I decided to visit here again for happy hour yesterday. To our disappointment their happy hour specials are lacking. They have no food specials for happy hour and their drinks specials are very slim. We don't drink beer so we usually go for cocktails. The only cocktails on their HH special are whatever "featured" drinks someone chooses for the day. Yesterday was 2 drinks which both didn't sound very good at all. Don't most bars have "well" drink HH specials? Isn't that the norm? Anyway, we ordered off of their punch list. I decided to try another. I ordered the "Milk Punch," and it was terrible. I took one sip, and at first it was okay, then the aftertaste hit. Disgusting. Would not recommend. Fiance ordered the rabbit punch, and though she liked it, I thought it was worse than my milk punch. So that's 3 punch drinks total I have tried and they were all pretty bad. Also, I should add, my drink was only filled about half way? The food was also pretty bad all around, and lacked taste. We ordered the Perogies, the fried green beans, empanadas and for our entree we decided on the sausage pizza. While the 3 apps were okay, but definitely needed someone to make them worth ordering again, the pizza was no good. Just like the last time we ordered a pizza here we felt it lacked taste, and needed a lot of seasoning. We have had better pizza at corner pizza places and for a fraction of the price. This will be the last time Cinder Bar gets my money until they revamp their HH specials, Drink Menu and food menu. Definitely not worth the money for the lackluster everything. read more

Not many cool bar spots in the East Greenwich/Paulsboro area, especially for food. We were hoping this was going to be the spot, unfortunately it was not. They serve the food as it comes out, which is usually fine, but I've never seen it where apps come after your main course. Every person got their app after the main course, if assumed the waitress would have waited to put our main courses in until after our apps were served. Maybe it was for the best cause it took upwards of 35 minutes for the last of our apps to hit the table. What we did get wasn't great, the Brussel Sprouts were overly greasy as were the cheese steak rolls. I feel like the fryer oil was in definite need of a change. One of the members of our party actually had cooking grease in their ice tea glass. Over all the price isn't too bad, I just don't think the food and service live up to us revisiting this place. read more

Stopped on 12/19 after Christmas shopping. We were sat quickly but had to ask a bus boy to send a server over after about ten minutes of no one coming over. Waitress took our drink and food order since we had time to decide before she came over. My wife's drink came out then part of our food order. The waitress stopped a few minutes later asking if everything was okay. Told her I still didn't get my drink she said she would check on it. She came back again asked if everything was okay and I told her I still didn't get my drink. She said again she would check on it. Our other food came out my wife got another drink then I finally got my drink. It took at least 45 minutes for my drink to come out. I was surprised to see that the drink was still on the bill when we paid. My wife asked the waitress to send the manager over but no one ever showed up. We paid the bill left an appropriately terrible tip and decided we won't be back. read more

I have been here a few times with my mom. I need to say thank you to Gia for taking such good care of me and my mom. My mom has a really hard time breathing, because she has cancer in her lungs. Gia went out of her way to get a table for us to sit right away, even though it was crowded. We were greated, seated and fed very quickly. We liked most of the things that we ordered, one thing that we ordered that we did not like was the Lobster Mac & Cheese. The Cheese Sauce was runny (& curdled), the pasta was hard and the lobster was kind of "off". The Rib Samdwich was too fatty. Now the things that we did love: The grilled cheese was Really Big! (For the Price--it was worth it! The Cheese Blend was Delicious!) The Edamame Ravioli! Melted in your mouth!! And then on another visit the Pierogies!!! It would've been better with a few more of the onions. Those onions were cooked perfectly!!! WE LOVED THEM!!! I've told my sisters my nieces my nephews, my friends, everybody that I know. So this is the hot new place to go in East Greenwich. Mostly because it is the ONLY place to go for a night out locally. I honestly wasn't that impressed. The menu could use some work. I had to read it 15 times to settle on a grilled Caesar salad. Who grills salad? The people I was with said the same thing. They are missing the menu staples you expect to see on a bar menu (burgers for example). The liquor selection was quite nice. Although I had to teach the bartender how to make my favorite drink. The wine is served in a glass way too big for the serving. It gives you the feeling of not getting a full serving since the glass is mostly empty. You have to read the description of the food you order closely. The one person I was with is very sensitive to spicy food. We did not expect the ketchup style dip that came with our appetizer to contain a pepper spice. When we reviewed the menu again we noticed it stated the ketchup was spicy. All in all it was a nice place to hang. I'm not rushing back there. read more

Even though it's over 20 minutes from my house, it's worth it because their food is always fresh. Unique adult beverages and candied bacon will keep us coming back while we check out different things on their menu. Sharing a bunch of small plates is always a winning idea here. If you don't ask for a regular table with regular chairs, they'll usually try to seat you in high, stool-like chairs, so don't hesitate to ask for a table with regular chairs if you don't like eating on bar-stool height chairs. read more

This place was amazing. Great atmosphere, and we enjoyed our food. They had a wide variety of beers and cocktails. The service was friendly, and we LOVED the candied bacon. I wish there were more places like this close to where we live. It was a fun night out with friends. The one negative thing that I would say is that the cocktail that my wife ordered was terrible.
