Spend extra $2+ on extra large popcorn for my family so I could get a refill during the movie, but when I went to get a refill, I had already paid extra for. I was told I had to wait in the long line again. Which would have been another 30 mins of time lost from the movie. This is the first time I have ever heard in my 40+ years of going to the movies that you have to wait in line for a refill that you have already paid for in advance. This will be the last time I come to this theater if this is the case. read more

I'll always love this particular Tinseltown; I've been going here for years. It's the movie theater of my childhood! And I'd say that 9 times out of 10 the aisles and seats are clean, the staff is more than friendly, and it's never terribly crowded with a bunch of loitering kids. Plus, every movie before 6pm is only $4.25 a ticket, and evening shows are $6.25. That's seriously cheap compared to most theaters these days! Of course, they get you with their concessions, but a theater has to make money somehow! And fortunately, there's usually a pretty good deal going on. Like, "buy this X-large popcorn in a jumbo, plastic tub, and then you can bring it in all year for a discounted refill!" It's definitely worth it if you plan on buying popcorn more than once a year, and you have to have popcorn at the movies! It's so good, even if you always feel a little sick afterwards. Just please don't be one of those annoying people who furiously digs around in their tub trying to find the perfect piece of popcorn. What are you doing? You are loud and obnoxious. Just eat the popcorn at the top and work your way down! read more

I would like to have cinemark's corporate team reach out and have this locations management (or lack there of) issue me an apology letter for wasting my night tonight. You can keep my money!!!! I showed up early to my movie just to have three hot topic girls send me from one line to the next because they don't know who can get me a gift card so I can buy a ticket because you don't accept cash but don't post any signs anywhere about any rules or changes there of, so when a guest comes in after months of not seeing a movie they get shuffled around and miss the start of the movie. Top of all of this, there's nobody in the box office, and not a single piece of management in the front of the house. For 15 minutes of waiting in literally all three lines as people get helped and go to their movie happily, I get a big basket of crap. I could enjoy this crap basket of nothing if it came with tickets to the movie, but no. I have to go to another line to buy a gift card to go to another kiosk to buy a ticket then come back to the first like to get fresh hot popcorn. Then the fun part is having to play "Go track down a manager!" I just gave up and went home 35 minutes the other way. If you do the math I spent over an hour in my car tonight rather than enjoying a movie. I understand things have been closed for a while, but we're not starting all the way over in the 1800s at the very first movie theater ever opened!!! You guys have training manuals and procedures that are supposed to be implemented to running all the auditorium's the same yes? I'll be fair and say y'all just really dropped the ball on this one, now it's your turn to make up for it fairly. GET IT TOGETHER!! read more

This is where we usually go for movies. As folks have said before for two adults on a Friday/Saturday night it's $12. I got the refillable cups for drinks and popcorn ... one drink for my hubby and I to split and some popcorn is $6. (Which we can also use at the second run theater in NRH!) This place is usually clean and the staff is nice ... the only down side is the seats are not the most comfortable in town. Not dirty or torn up just not the spiffy new seats you get at other theaters; but I'm usually willing to sacrifice that for the $4 savings on getting in the door alone. read more

This theater is great! It offers a really affordable movie experience (especially with a large family) - the matinee prices last until 6pm! There are variances concerning the size of theaters, however, we've been about 4x and it's been a fun experience every time. it's always pretty clean and the chairs are comfortable enough. This is my favorite movie theatre in the Dallas area for your standard experience. First of all, the price cannot be beat. Currently, it's $6.25 for evening showtimes without 3D or XD, and $4.25 for matinee. The XD theatre is a wonderful experience and has luxurious seats and amazing picture and sound. It's around the same price for a STANDARD ticket at any other theatre ($10 or so), and it blows everything out of the water. I highly recommend it. The icing on the cake: This theatre regularly receives some tender love and care from its parent company as is obvious with the cleanliness, new equipment, seats, and upholstery. The exterior got a refresh recently with a beautiful new sign. The popcorn and drinks are the same you would find at any other theatre, but Cinemark offers a lot when you use the official app's CineMode feature and usually cuts your concession prices in half with a nice coupon (the upgrades!). The bottom line: This is a theatre that gives the people what they want: new releases, great picture and sound, and comfort. After waiting in the theater for about 40 minutes watching a blank screen, we had to stand outside in the cold for refunds/rain check passes. We did get compensated for the wait, but I feel that the entire situation could have been handled much more smoothly. This place is absolutely disgusting. The employees don't acknowledge you, the theater wasn't clean, the pizza I ordered was TERRIBLE, and the popcorn was stale. It's close and it's cheap, and honestly, if I ever end up going back (not likely) I may as well just walk right in since there's never anyone to scan tickets. 3.5 stars- Not my first choice in theaters, but they're cheap. I can't complain~ $7.50 for movie tickets is pretty rare these days. I like that they're close to everything and they do have some late show times for us who like to stay out late. The attendants are friendly and helpful. Parking is plentiful. Cons- it is older as evident by the interior. I don't like things in my pockets, so I laid my keys on the floor, and it was dark. When the lights came on, I realized there was some sticky substance next to my keys, looked like soda that had been left there for awhile. I almost touched it... My husband and think this is the best movie Theater for the best price. The theater is off kinda by itself. Tons of parking! They have a arcade inside with all the cool games, so come early! There concession stands has lots of different options. They have a app where you can get discounts on food, movies and drink options. If you go around 11:00-12:00 in the afternoon the movies are only $9.50 for two people on the weekends. The theater is always vary clean! The chairs inside are vary comfortable too!! read more

Bad experience all around. Bought our tickets and the kid sold us tickets to a movie that had started an hour ago, not the next showing that started in 30 mins like we asked for. Girl taking tickets told us to get in the queue lines for the Incredibles 2. We informed her we weren't there to see the Incredibles 2 and then she just stared at us. I kept holding the tickets out and finally she took them and handed them back after tearing them off but didn't tell us where our theater was. Apparently this location had overgone and "upgrade" and by that I mean new seats. But these were unlike an other Cinemark I have been to in the metroplex. They looked neq but were the most awkwardly uncomfortable seats ever. They ricked back but all of us had seats that had a hard piece cutting into their back and no way you sat, it sucked. I ended up sitting with my elbows on my knees most of the movie. Save yourself some annoyance and go to a nicer more updated Cinemark. You cannot pick your seats when buying online either. read more

The 90's was a cool decade...and you can visit them by going to the Cinemark Tinseltown in Grapevine. I dropped off my car at the dealership in Grapevine, and went looking for a way to pass the time. We stumbled upon the Cinemark and pulled in. The movie "Boyhood" that we had wanted to see for the longest started in 10 minutes! This couldn't be more perfect! I guess I've become used to all of the theaters renovating and moving over to the look and dine with bars and televisions in the lobby...not this place...no sir! Nothing but video games. I'm actually not complaining about that though...it's kind of a change of pace. Once we got in, we sat down and one of the arms was missing from my seat. No problem, quick fix..we just moved down..ta da!!!!! Fixed!!! Seriously, this spot is good for catching a flick that you want to see that you can't see anywhere else, but it's not a first choice. There's nothing too much really wrong with it, but with the options of the renovated AMC's close by, I can't really give this place a glowing recommendation. It's not bad, but you will notice the difference. Hopefully they'll make some changes and catch up, or they will soon be left far behind. read more

Maybe it's cause I'm not from Texas but this was a very cool experience. You sit in your recliner seats and a worker will come by and take your food order from a menu thats provided. While I was watching the previews, a girl came by and delivered my food. Really cool experience to have someone wait on you while you are getting ready to watch a movie. God, I wish I had discovered this place sooner before forking over $10-$12 per ticket at those other places. Adult weekend prices run ~$6-$7 and children are ~$4-$5. Let's not even go into matinee prices because it's even lower (crazy, right??) Pro tip: Opening weekends (Friday-Sunday) are PACKED but my latest visit to watch the Minions movie on the opening Thursday night was okay. Tinseltown is my standby when I go to see a movie, because the tickets are cheap and a movie is a movie no matter where you go. When every other theater showing current films is twice the price, you can't go wrong with Tinseltown. The seats are fine as far as comfort goes, but the armrests do not raise, which can be inconvenient at times. The food is just as obscenely priced as you'll find at any other theater, but you can't blame them too much since they certainly don't profit much from ticket sales. Coming from a former employee, you should definitely avoid buying hot dogs, especially in the morning. They are refrigerated and restocked from the night before, and they look and taste terrible afterward. The managers are friendly and professional, and anything they don't solve for you probably isn't a problem. The projectors are all digital, meaning that you'll get all the high quality video you would expect from a higher end theater. The sound systems are more than adequate, you get no complaints from me as far as the movies themselves go. And when it comes down to it, isn't that what a movie theater is about? Great matinee prices & the theater is always clean. The matinee prices are around 4.25 for a digital cinema type movie. The prices for 3D are more but still cheaper then competing theaters. I use the Cinemark app and use cine mode during the movie. It rewards you with a variety of prizes which are some type of concession you can use for a future visit. I have found the best deals if you sign up for the Cinemark weekly emails. They always offer pretty great deals on concessions if you enjoy that type of things. This theater also is flask friendly so remember that if you want to get that party started a little early that day. read more

My last update was around the time they were renovating and I almost ended the life a rodent. We all know that wasn't pleasant. BUT, for my leap day mini's birthday this year, I decided to take him to a matinee to see Kung Fu Panda 3, and everywhere else was wanting to charge this sweet 4 (but really 1 year old) almost $8 for a 1:30 movie. So Tinsletown won on a technicality for the $4 ticket, but I must admit the seats were pretty comfy and I didn't almost become a rodent murderer that I know of....so I will amend my previous review a few years back and give them a few more chances to make up for the unfortunate event. We had a good time, and thank you for not making me ante up for a kid who can barely say Kung Fu Panda. :) read more

Prices are below average at about $6 per adult admission. The place is clean, friendly and appealing to all comers. There is a small burger/pizza restaurant inside along with an arcade. They have kids snack packs that come with popcorn, drink and candy for about $4 and a large popcorn and two medium sodas runs $14 - good snack prices on the whole. I even had a kids birthday party here to see Kungfu Panda on the opening weekend and was amazed at the quality of service. We had a private room, roped off seating in the theater, pizza and soda for 25, snack packs for all the kids along with admission for under $200. A staffer manned the party room and did games with the kids. We had fun just watching the kids and were able to relax so much more than when we have had home parties or the dreadful Chuck-E-Cheese party. read more

Honestly, this place gets a 5 star review solely based on the price. Matinee is $4, otherwise it's a whopping $6. Sure, the theater is kinda dirty, but if you want a clean theater, I hope you have a spare room at your house and a projector. It's a little old and it doesn't have the fanciest projectors in all of the theaters (I think?) but it's also $6. There is usually a decent selection of movies available.
