What people say about the service is true. I had no trouble getting my order through their website in a timely manner though. The problem with the service is that there was very little ackgnowledgement and the man basically threw my food out the door to me. The prices are pretty standard for indian but the portion sizes are good and I got free naan. The food itslef is actually quite flavorful and aromatic, well seasoned. It is a bit greasy but when I am ordering indian curry that richness is desireable and expected. My only complaint about the food is that the three chicken curry-like dishes I got all tasted very similar (though good). Next time I will add some variety to my order. read more

We came for dinner Saturday night because I had a Groupon and we are on an Indian food kick lately. The only negative is they don't have a liquor license, but I understand the difficulty in obtaining one. Our server was very friendly and polite; the food was very good. Walking into this rather humble-looking place, I thought, "Uh-oh. Maybe I should've ordered chicken instead of lamb." Happily, I was really wrong. These people are not kidding around! I haven't had Indian food that's this fresh and complex in a really long time. The menu offers a really varied selection of dishes. The Lamb Madras was wonderful, with lamb that was actually good, instead of tasting like old woolen socks (as it often does at other Indian places in Cbus). It had lots of fresh curry and/or methi leaves and aromatic roasted spices. The "mild" was deliciously spicy. I wouldn't order medium or hot (much less extra hot) unless you know what you're doing. The Baingan Bharta was by far the best I've ever had. You could tell that they roasted the eggplant in the tandoori oven because it was nicely smoky, and, again, just ALIVE with flavor. Finally, placing and picking up a takeout order was really easy around noon on a weekday. I will be back! read more

So I went in at 2pm...their lunch buffet is over at 3. I noticed my table had not been wiped clean and the carpet felt gooey and sticky under my feet. These are things Im typically willing to overlook... I was the only person there and I'm pretty sure the food had been sitting out since they opened. There was 1 pakora left on the buffet and I would have liked to have had more...I was there 45 minutes to an hour and not once did anyone check the buffet or anything. The chicken tikka masala was ok...less spicy and more dry than I'd like. The food was all just okay, mediocre at best. It was very, very mild, bland even. My naan was dry and a little burned but may have been the best thing I had in my meal. But, I could explain that all away since I was there at such an odd time. On the plus side, the server refilled my glass of warm tap water twice. Anyway, I thought to myself that I might just try coming back at an earlier time to get the freshest choice off the buffet, since it wasn't as good as I'd hoped. I ended up having to cancel my order because it took so long to be delivered. I ordered through Grubhub around 5:20. I was originally told it would take 60-70 minutes, which already felt long. The time was then pushed back about 10 minutes further. By 7:50, I hadn't heard anything and hadn't gotten the food, so I called, and the restaurant's phone wasn't taking calls. Came here on the recommendation of a friend (soon to be ex). Maybe it was the fact that it was a Sunday night but at 6 me and my roommate were the only people there and clearly the only ones who had been in some time. I got really excited when I saw the the Thali option. Outside of a buffet, it's the best option to get a variety of options and more closely resembles a traditional meal. Also got a chai tea. To start the chai tea was luke warm and just BLAND which I guess is the best way to describe the entire meal. For almost 30 dollars, I would have, first, expected more food. Could have finished that entire thing on my own. 1 cup of rice, 1 piece of naan cut up into pieces and three small bowls of sabzi's. There were also two somosas and two pieces of gulab jamun. I get that this a thali for two, but Jesus, that doesn't mean you need to only have two of everything. No real spice to any of them. The goat curry was actually not bad but the paneer and dal were beyond tasteless. TLDR; don't go unless you've got a Groupon and only if you're going for the buffet so at least you won't be hungry afterwards. read more

We've ordered from Cinnamon Indian Grill 3 times, but tonight was our last. We ordered at 5:15pm, the estimated grubhub delivery was 6pm, our food wasn't delivered until 7pm. Grubhub contacted the restaurant at 6:35 and they were told it would be 10 minutes longer. I personally called the restaurant after 15 minutes and they offered no remorse or resolution, they acted like being an hour late was not a problem. The person I spoke to at the restaurant said they were "like really busy" and "like one of the like drivers like called off, you know?". I said I understood, but if they were short staffed and they knew they couldn't meet the time they estimated, they should at the very least call the customer to let them know. When the food was finally on the way, the driver failed to look at the listed address and he went to a different house. My husband walked down the street to meet the incompetent driver. The Restaurant also forgot to provide the sauces listed in their menu descriptions. The food quality and the taste of the lamb, the saag paneer, and the vegetable samosas were mediocre. I don't recommend ordering from Cinnamon Indian grill. There are many other delicious Indian restaurants in Columbus- don't waste your time or money on Cinnamon Indian grill. read more

Ordered for pick-up, food took 20 minutes longer than the estimate provided through EatStreets. When I picked up the food, they told me part of the order didn't qualify for the "Cinnamon Special" and they had substituted it out (this was the Kulfi). Not a great start, but a reasonable resolution. When I got home, they had forgot to include any naan which was also part of the special we ordered two of, and had not included the additional garlic naan which I paid for. I ordered cheese pakora from online and what I got was just disgusting!!! They sent it to me RAW!!!! It wasn't even cooked. I can taste the raw batter it was totally a waste of money. Our group ordered tikka masala, tikka chicken, tikka lamb, and butter curry. It was fantastic. The spice level was on point. I was impressed that the rice was perfect - I'm used to getting it underdone when getting take out from other places. The portions were good as well. Don't expect a lot of leftovers. We also ordered the garlic naan. Not overly garlicy either - you can taste it, however, it doesn't overpower the naan or the rest of the dishes. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone!!! I ordered through their website and got delivery through DoorDash. DoorDash delivered my food to the wrong house and called to tell me they will be canceling my order and not to worry about it. I ended up getting charged for the order. I call DoorDash to resolve this issue and they said Cinnamon Indian Gill will take care of it. I called the restaurant and they refuse to work with me and hung up on me! Not really sure how this place got anything less than amazing reviews. The building is small and the entry is uncomfortable but man oh man is there heaven inside! If you want authentic delicious Indian food, this is your place. We had an arrangement of food and all of it was amazing. I had lamb korma for my main dish and I consider myself a bit of a korma fanatic and this was up with some of the best. Husband had lamb butter curry and that was delicious as well. My only complaint was there must have been an issue with the AC in the building and it was a bit warm. Still, even as hot as I get, I would go back over and over, AC or not. Most of the negative reviews on here seem to be for Curry & Sweets, which wasn't that great and just happens to be at the same location as this new place. Ok - end rant. Our experience - ordered online through the super easy website. Decided on carry out (good decision, more on that in a minute), and used a coupon no hassle, and the food was delicious. First the website - very easy to use, lots of food options, easy interface, and we chose to pay in the store because of the Valpak coupon. (which they took no hassle) Food - superb and on par with the best Indian in Columbus and cheaper than most. Will DEFINITELY be making this our go-to place for fast Indian take out. We ordered the chicken tikka masala and aloo gobi. Both were really good. The chicken tikka masala was especially amazing. Even the basmati rice was great, be sure not to eat the cardamom pods. The restaurant - a tiny little place in a strip mall, when we picked up our food there were no customers inside. This was 7pm on a Sunday. So it would have been pretty awkward if we had eaten there being alone with the one staff person. I would recommend either the buffet during lunch, or take out. But the food was amazing - similar to our favorite Amul India (Sawmill Rd). But it is much better than Biryani Corner (Bethel Rd), New India (Bethel Rd) and Aab India (Grandview). read more

Cinnamon Indian Grill recently moved into our Clintonville neighborhood and I'm totally delighted that it is here. The food is delicious and reasonable priced. They serve the common curries that you would normally find at an Indian restaurant, as well as some unexpected items. The restaurant is decorated very sparsely, so there isn't really any ambiance to speak of so most people would probably enjoy getting take-out to enjoy in the comfort of their own homes. However if you order and go there, they have not once had it ready and you have to wait 30+ minutes. The food isn't good enough to wait for. They're on UberEats and you have to call the restaurant directly 10 times to verify they're actually making your food because it is so slow. Then when you call they have no clue what your order is. We are trying to order from local businesses during this COVID time, however when we went to pick up the order there were TEN people waiting to pick up their orders as well. Everyone was coughing. DO NOT ONLINE ORDER FROM THIS RESTAURANT. We've ordered from here a few times before, pretty cheap and mildly decent Indian food. However, this time we ordered two specials on DoorDash which were stated to include an appetizer, rice, entree, naan, dessert, and drink. We paid $17.99 for each special, which we ordered two. When we got our order we only got the entrees with rice, so we were missing the bulk of our order: appetizers, naan, dessert, and drink. When we called the restaurant they didn't want to speak to us when we said we were missing items and they hung up mid-phone call. Then, we called back and got sent to their voicemail which was full. I called back on a different number and they answered and we tried to explain the problem and they said we could come in to retrieve the items. It took and extra hour of our night to drive there, argue with the workers about what food we were supposed to be getting, and finally get home with the correct order. They had absolutely no clue what their special included so they shouldn't be allowed to list the offer on DoorDash, they're scamming people out of $7 when the items we actually received would be priced at $11 online, not $18. A complete waste of time and not worth it. There are so many better Indian places in Columbus, don't waste your time or money here. Not to mention their "paneer pakora" was literally Mozzarella sticks with a side of ketchup . read more

Truly excellent Northern Indian and Bengali fare. The decor and atmosphere are pure utilitarian, but the food is some of the best I've had in Columbus. Try the sweet, rich and creamy Korma, the delicate and warming Shahi Paneer, or tart and salty Lamb Achari. Wash it down with a surprisingly complex Sweet Lassi. read more

Just noticed this pop up in Old North during a cruise up High Street. Ordered via Postmates tonight as they had a "freebie" delivery special from here. It was delivered within 45 minutes as expected. I ordered my usual Indian favorites--paneer butter masala, veggie samosa and garlic naan. I requested the masala to be "Hot" in the notes section of my order, but I am sad to say it was void of any spiciness at all--very bland. Other than the meager portion of paneer cubes, the sauce was decent and everything arrived warm--even the rice. Two samosas in the appetizer portion along with chutney. The samosas were large and very good--packed with potatoes, peas and spices. The garlic naan was excellent--very fluffy and you could tell it was fresh--tons of garlic too! For the price of an Indian entree such as the paneer masala at $10.99 I am usually able to make two meals out of a portion. I'll probably hit up one of my other go-to Indian spots in the future where I know I can get a couple meals out of the delivery. Not exceptional but definitely acceptable! read more
