I was in San Francisco and had extra time for some hair pampering. I was able to get squeezed in for a deep pre condition followed by a shampoo and conditioner with a blowout. Came here for a haircut by Mardy! Great service and great cut. I love my new do. It was one of those model haircut sessions and I loved it. I am a stickler for good salons and low priced haircuts and this was it, lol. Staff was super friendly, changed into the robes while I waited. Sara has saved my hair from being damaged and easily tangled (I used to get these horrible , painful knots) after visiting other salons, to bringing it back to its natural softness and making it easy to brush (no more knots!!). She also helped me find a beautiful color for my hair that looks natural (but better). While it is a bit pricey, the quality of care and service makes it well worth it, so I keep coming back. Really great of them to do so. if you want an updo at Cinta, my friend's look by Irina was A+.** First of all, this is *just* about one experience. I'm sure the salon is lovely (and my friend got great service), but my time at Cinta was very disappointing. I made an appointment for an updo for a super fancy wedding with a definite end time that I noted in the appointment. My stylist was 30 minutes late to my appointment (including sending me to get a shampoo as a stalling technique even after they texted me 4 times reminding me to to come with clean, dry hair), with just a tossed off apology for making me wait as an afterthought. He talked me out of an updo and said I would have "runway ready flowing hair" as that would look better with my dress, but if I wanted an updo at the end, he could do it. Well, after 45 minutes of teasing and blowing out my hair, there was no time for the updo even if I wanted it, as I was already late to get ready for the wedding. My hotel was 10 minutes away from the salon and literally by the time I made it back to my hotel (in a frantic rush), my hair was flat. So I ultimately spent an insanely large amount of money for an overpriced blowout. I would have been better suited going to a dry bar and spending 1/4th of the cost. Super bummed - was really looking forward to a fun updo. I will say that everyone except my stylist was great and super attentive. Clearly he double booked at my time and tried to cover it. I had a great first experience at Cinta Salon getting highlights and a deep conditioning treatment. Haley was my stylist - she's super sweet and knowledgeable. I was trying to brighten up my hair with highlights after having a bad experience at another salon which colored my hair too dark. Haley talked me through what my options were without damaging my hair too much. She worked quickly through the foils and the color came out beautifully. She even gave me several tips and recommendations on how to keep my hair healthy. The salon is modern and clean, and they were taking covid precautions including temperature checks and hand sanitizer at the door. I also saw employees wiping down shampoo bowls and chairs. I've had a number of experiences with the salon over the past 10 years and at this point I recommend that you go anywhere else. I've had twice now practitioners not even show up for the scheduled appointment. If they make a mistake, they are lax to admit it the front desk is haughty and arrogant, and it is very difficult to reach beauticians for rescheduling, or any questions. At one point it was a great salon right now it's awful. In fact, if you talk with people who are new to the beauty scene, they wouldn't take a job there if they were offered one it's an awful place to go. read more

I had a partial balayage and hair cut, which I've had many times before, both at the Cinta Institute and Cinta Salon. I've been going to the salon lately since they generally are faster and do a better job. My stylist Tinee didn't ask too many questions. I told her I just wanted a cut and to touch up my hair so it looked the same as before (i.e. dark brown with lighter reddish highlights, long layers). She used heat on my hair, which was unusual since I hadn't had that before. When she started blow-drying my hair, it started looking very dark on top and an almost orange-y light color on the bottom. I asked her about it, and this is really the worst part -- she tried to convince me that was what it was supposed to look like. I get that she may have used the color on file and I get that the roots are hard to lift, but if you're trying to convince me that uneven color is normal, you've lost my trust. When I'm paying nearly $500, I expect to be very happy with the results and I expect the stylist to be the first to notice if there's something off. I certainly don't expect the stylist to gaslight me when I'm telling her my hair is off. She ended up fixing the color with two rounds of tone and I ended up tipping her 15% but my hair is still feeling dry and straw-like two weeks later. I get upset about it every time I take a shower so decided to just share my experience on Yelp. Next time I might just go to Cinta Institute since at least they don't try to gaslight you. read more

I feel like she understands the color I'm looking for as a late 40s client and does these face framing highlights that look natural and take years off, everyone is always complimenting me on the color when it's styled. If you like to take a day off work for a hair appointment only to be told that your hair stylist double booked herself and can't fit you in, this is the place for you!!! Malia had messaged me to see if I was interested in being a model for a Tuesday color class. When I arrived I was made to wait 10 minutes only to be told that the stylist had double booked herself. I would have understood if the stylist would have communicated this with me. Her only response was to say sorry. When I addressed my frustrations with the salon receptionist and showed her proof that Malia had confirmed her appointment for me no manager ever addressed my complaint. I find this behavior completely unprofessional and for a manager not to fix the issue is disrespectful. They offered for me to make another appointment and come in another day-but after this experience I don't wish to come back to this salon to be treated so poorly. read more

This review is for the Blow Dry Bar. I had a Gilt City deal for a blowdry. Glad they came out with one because I originally had booked an appointment with Dry Bar which looks like they're notorious for running late. The receptionist checked me in and showed me to the bathroom to change into the smock. My stylist Gregory was on time for my appointment to greet me and get started. We ladies know that many stylists don't run on time. I showed him in the book what I wanted, loose curls for my boudior shoot/birthday dinner. I also told him how in got curls done a few weeks ago and one side of them didn't last even before I ran out the door of my house. So he made sure to pin them up as he was going and spray lots of spray. I loved how he gave me some volume around my crown as well. He took his time with me and we ran a little over the expected time but that's what I appreciated. The curls came looser (which I wanted) but lasted all through dinner til I knocked out after a food colma. Go see him at Cinta, he's wonderful!
