I was quite impressed with all of the food here!! I went for my birthday brunch with my family. The server recommended the hummus to start off which was quite tasty and easy to share. We also shared the banana bread which was quite moist and tasty, the honey butter definitely made the dish though. My mom and I shared the smoked trout toast and challah French toast. The Trout was so flavorful. I was obsessed with the orange marmalade in the French toast. For my birthday they gave a free dessert that said happy birthday on the plate, had a candle, and a mini square of birthday cake. It wasn't really much to eat but was a cute photo. I also got the tiramisu which has espresso ice cream on top that was irresistible. The butter rum cake had to be my favorite though, all the elements of apple were extremely fresh sweet and yummy. When I go out, I like to get an entree for each person at the table and an appetizer for every two people. My friend and I came to Cira together and each got an entree and shared a spread. Honestly, compared to other Mediterranean restaurants in the city, we were a bit more satisfied than what I was used to, but it still felt lacking. The spread was the star of our table. The flavors were delicious, but the plating was what took it to another level. I appreciate all the colors and fresh vegetables/flowers used to garnish, and they tasted wonderfully with the pita. There just wasn't enough pita and spread! :) We got a pasta and a fish entree to share. They each felt lacking on their own, but were better together. It just felt like neither could be filling on their own as they were each lacking a certain amount of complementary flavor that was fulfilled by the other. I enjoy that nothing was seasoned too strongly but the flavors still shown through. Overall, I would come again, but maybe not on a hungry stomach. Such a good date spot. It's honestly so reasonably priced for being in West Loop, especially under the much pricier Cabra upstairs. The restaurant is labeled as Mediterranean, but I wouldn't categorize it as that as it has many different dishes such as Piri Piri chicken and several classic pasta dishes. My favorite dish is the mushroom bolognese. If you go, you really have to try this dish. It shocked me because I don't prefer mushrooms. The ambiance of the restaurant is really great as well. The decor is so beautiful. The bathroom is stunning. Might be silly--but I love looking out the window at the train. What an amazing gem in West Loop! First, the ambience is fantastic. We made a reservation for 5pm on a Saturday but it wasn't too busy so you could probably get a table. The decor and music and liveliness of the lounge area, everything was very trendy and chic! We started with the mezze platter and probably could have ended on that. It was absolutely delicious and quite satisfying for 3 people. The hummus, falafel, green garlic dip, it was all amazing and we're glad we got the platter so we could try a little bit of everything. For entree, the pistachio ravioli is superb. I don't think I've ever had ravioli that flavorful and unique. That dish alone is worth returning again and again! Pistachio cookie is a great way to wrap up your meal, although be warned it is very sweet - but so worth it! Service was very nice and attentive as well. I've been to Cira a couple of times now. There menu changes so there is always something interesting to try. If you like the livelier atmospheres to relax, it draws a great crowd on weekend nights especially with the DJ pumping up the mood in the front section. It is always hard to find parking within 2 blocks of it during meal times, so I either park further away or just use their valet service. I love their hummus, maybe because they add honey to it which is a change from the savory versions. We also ordered the Burrata, it is a little more liquidity in consistency and milder in taste than what I have tasted before. The Pistachio scallop was very fresh. The shank of lamb is very tender and filling. The surprise in this dish was the grapes which added an interesting texture and fresh contrast to the lamb. While I enjoyed the Middle Eastern flair to the menu, I suggest that you ask the waiter if you do not like mint, parsley, or yogurt. I realize once the dishes came out that these elements kept repeating in each dish. One of my companions is not a big fan of parsley and she had to pick it out. While I like yogurt, it got a little boring when I saw it on the 3 of the 4 dishes on the table. read more

Finally got around to trying this place, and I was not disappointed. The inside is very pretty with beautiful decor. The restaurant is located on the first floor of the hotel with lots of natural lighting coming in from the windows. The food was really really good. I ordered the smoked trout toast originally. It was good, but if you are used to heftier portions you will probably want something else. The side order of bacon was good as well. HOWEVER the real star of the show was the challah French toast. Honestly just order it. Don't think about it just order it. It was so buttery and crunchy. The syrup, the whip, and the marmalade all made great accompaniment to the toast. I was so happy I ordered it, but mad at myself for not ordering it first and ordering a second order afterwards. Our waiter was fabulous. Very nice and accommodating. Really gorgeous spot in the Hoxton Hotel. I've only come by in the evening and seen it packed so it was really calm and nice for brunch on Saturday with only a few tables occupied. They are very serious but pleasant about the covid precautions and take your temperature before entering. The drinks were great- highly recommend their Bloody Mary. Service was excellent. The food felt a little overpriced but it was fairly tasty and filling and I suppose you're paying for the ambiance. Also wish the brunch menu had a few more options but may have been due to COVID. FOOD: We came immediately from another restaurant, so we just got enough to try the restaurant--ordered the brown butter hummus with pita, lamb manti, and Amaro Montenegro. Brown butter hummus was easily some of the best hummus and pita I've had, 100% need to order. Mix of sweet, salty, nutty, crunchy, and smooth with the fluffiest, warm pita. Came out immediately. Lamb manti was good, and though I'm somewhat lamb-averse, I enjoyed it. I couldn't finish the Amaro Montenegro, but I blame it on my palette rather than the restaurant itself. SERVICE: Especially considering how busy it was, our waitress was great! Very attentive and took the time to explain the Amaro menu to us. PRICE: Pretty good considering everything. Food was filling, each item we ordered ranged from about $15-20, but the larger plates (which we didn't order) were mainly $30+. OVERALL: So so beautiful, and would return just for the hummus. Our server forgot a few things, mentioned that the barista was backed up, and finally came back to say they were just plain out of the Pumpkin Chai Latte. I was staying the Hoxton for a team retreat. The seating was very eclectic, but comfortable and spaced out enough for me to. When we ate breakfast, I had the Mortadella Breakfast Sandwich. It was different than what I was expecting. It was a pistacho-based pesto, giving the sandwich a very nutty taste. The amount of mortadella meat overpowered the presence of the eggs and I would have had the option of a different bread, as I am not a huge fan of sesame bread. read more

There was a DJ and the music was overwhelmingly loud when we first walked in. The dining room was slightly quieter but still too loud for a date night. Probably would be good for a group/pre game. We had the burrata, citrus salad, hummus, pistachio ravioli, and rigatoni. The pistachio ravioli and hummus were highlights. Cocktails weren't great. We tried the Secret Garden and Boston Boulvardier and neither were fantastic. Overly sweet and lacked complexity of a high end cocktail.
