I was visiting the hotel for a conference, and was completely famished by the time we had a moment to grab some food. I preferred this menu over Trader Vic's, even though everyone raves about that one. We had a late lunch, so it was pretty empty, but our waiter was really nice and accommodating. We ordered a bunch of items, and sampled it all. The food was good, and by the time we split the check with our group, it wasn't too expensive either. The food wasn't anything spectacular or worth trying again. It would be a good spot to revisit if I have another event at the hotel. The chips and guac are great, but you can't really go wrong there. The flatbread was actually pretty yummy, and the quinoa salad was pretty average. My friends enjoyed their burger, and I enjoyed the fries. But again, it was satisfying, but not noteworthy. And I was also starving. The outside patio by the pool and bar are beautiful though. That kind of makes up for everything, right? I will be willing to give it another go for brunch. read more

I come here for breakfast whenever I'm in town - even if I don't stay as a guest! I'm from Orange County and I drove here early in the morning just to have breakfast on my birthday - I love it that much. The Continental Breakfast is sufficient - it's everything in the break fast buffet without the hot food (I'm vegan so I can live without the eggs, bacon, sausage, etc.) But yes if you want the full buffet, tell the server you'd like The American Breakfast for just $8.00 more, I believe. If you don't want the buffet options, you're also welcome to order from the menu. I highly suggest you try the buffet though - the quality of the foods displayed are always top notch. ***Have the homemade granola for breakfast. It's amazing. Sometimes I come here for breakfast just for the granola. Every Hilton has different homemade granola, and as a member and frequent guest to different locations, I can tell you this one has the best haha I should ask why during my next visit. The staff is always helpful, welcoming, and friendly - I was happy when they started recognizing me as a "regular". You can choose to sit in the intimate area, or more towards the pool - you can request to have the windows and doors open if you'd like fresh air. I've also been here for lunch and dinner, and the quality and service was just as divine. I couldn't think of a better restaurant I've been to in any hotel. It's always nice to feel like you're at home. I love dining here - it's so peaceful and relaxing. I highly recommend that you visit, even if you're not a guest a the hotel. read more

Went here with a friend for DineLA week and discovered the menu they gave was different from the one listed on the DineLA website. Service was prompt and courteous. I had been looking forward to the Foie Gras with Scallops for an appetizer (from the DineLA online menu) but was satisfied with the crab cake they had -- only one serving, small, but luckily it did not have too much filler. My friend had the wanton soup and it was ok. Nothing to write home about. I had the peppered steak, medium, and it was perfectly cooked. I liked the blue cheese they had with it, but it did overpower the steak a bit. My friend had the halibut and it was quite tasty, mildly crisp/charred on the outside but overall succulent. I had the three homemade sorbets (lychee, raspberry, and mango) and they were refreshing. My friend had the passionfruit creme brulee (another dineLA menu had listed lemon creme brulee). It was also pretty good. Per our waiter's recommendations, we had the A-Maro Primitivo (Zinfandel-ish varietal) wine with our meal and it was a good solid choice that complemented both our dishes. Overall, it was a nice experience (good food, good company and conversation). We wanted to check out the Trader Vic's lounge afterwards but it was closed for a private function. I've been here twice for their brunch and bottomless prosecco. I wish the seafood selection was better. They have crab claws, scallops, shrimp, mussels , and oysters but they are always out. As soon as the staff refills it, it's gone within 5 minutes. Last time I got a good seat so I was able to see each time it was getting filled up. Haha. What drew me to the restaurant was of course the bottomless prosecco but the food is decent too. $45 for the brunch buffet with endless drink till 3 I believe. There is currently a Travelzoo deal too which I wouldn't have known about but when I called to make a reservation the person on the phone asked if I had a voucher. Came here on a summer Tuesday for $2 tacos and after work drinks. The night pool patio ambience is awesome with changing pink, purple and red lights. Tacos were good- small street tacos so go crazy! Chicken was the most flavorful, but the pork and beef were also good. Enjoyed a Paloma to wash it down, which wasn't bad (though Paloma's aren't my go to). Finished it off with some complimentary chocolate cake thanks to Yelp check in! Cake was airy and a little dry (though still good) and the frosting with raspberries was delish. Best all you-can-eat breakfast buffets I've had in awhile. Extensive Breakfast Choices: Can order a la carte or choose from the extensive all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet which included: smoked salmon, yogurt with selection of granola + toppings, poppyseed bread, macarons(!), fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, delicious steamed vegetables, roasted sweet potatoes, eggs, chicken sausage, chocolate croissants...I can't remember all of it, there was so much. Quite a few vegetarian and gluten-free choices as well. There is something for everyone. Seating: You can eat outside by pool, inside with a view or inside in a quiet booth. That morning, I preferred the quiet booth to be able to read by myself that morning. Service: my Asian male waiter approached me in the buffet room, pronounced my name correctly, took my drink order and had my fresh coffee and juice waiting by the time I got back. It's as if the server didn't hear a word of what I ordered. I appreciate the vegetarian and gluten free options, though for the prices I really expected better quality food. Why isn't the $20 kale salad organic? Atlantic salmon, for example is often found at the Days Inn restaurant or at a two star hotel's restaurant. That's why I don't eat there and chose to pay the extra to stay here. Why wouldn't the Beverly Hilton have wild salmon - the only healthy kind to eat? The chef perhaps isn't into health or isn't in the know. The menu is a 1997 style menu. I truly hope they evolve. If you're not staying at the hotel you really no reason to eat here. We did three days of breakfast buffet here. It was basic higher-end hotel fare along with an omelette bar. The fruit was a bit disappointing - seemed more industrial than cut on the premises. The blueberries were too tart, and management apparently doesn't see a problem with putting out raspberries along with tongs that grind them to a pulp when trying to place them on a plate. And we were surprised that our request for fresh-squeezed OJ was accompanied by a $15 charge. Service was spotty. Solid on two of the mornings and horrible on the other. read more

Beware most positive reviews are of breakfast or brunch! This place does NOT do dinner well. The menu is all over the place. They offer steak, pasta, fusion dishes AND pizza. Another venue that offers everything and is an expert in nothing. Our pasta dish was without exaggeration three fork fulls - officially the smallest pasta serving of my life ($38). The homemade pasta itself was so dark I initially thought it was covered in tomato sauce (it was in fact a creamy white sauce). No idea what recipe they use but it's not an Italian one. The carpaccio was so thick it could've been sliced lengthways!!! The meat course was garnished with a sad dressing-less handful of spinach leaves and a few cherry tomatoes. Definelty easy to find and great customer service all around. I used the travel zoo promotion. Outside seating was crowned but inside was more intimate. The food was great , omelette station had two different salsas and they were delicious. The crab pieces and oysters were very delicious but no butter. I did not notice the bbq outside or was told about it so that was heart wrenched! However the server was very attentive and nice. When it came time torwards end he defiantly topped off our mimosas and ended it great . When I booked I did put it was a bday and they sang to her and brought her a good chunk of cake piece! From the second you step inside circa 55 you are welcomed by staff Ambiance is inviting with two seating options , inside or by the pool. We began our meal with the cheese tray This was one of the finest trays we have had. 4 different cheeses, two crackers , fresh fig spread, honey and nuts. We ordered a Cobb salad and the beef Cubano for lunch. Both were plentiful fresh and delicious. Our server frank was attentive providing excellent service. A true classic in the Beverly Hills area and a frequent stop for me when I am in town. I love the seating options both indoor and also tables alongside the Beverly Hilton pool. I recently returned for breakfast before attending a conventIon at The Beverly Hilton. So glad that I did! I was sat immediately upon entering. Alfredo was my Server and cane right over with coffee for me. He explained that the menu was available or I could enjoy the breakfast buffet. In all my years coming to the restaurant, I have always had the breakfast buffet, however, this time (for some odd reason), I couldn't make up my mind! Alfredo was so kind to give me a few minutes. Buffet breakfast it is! I was so pleased with that choice. Scrambled eggs, bacon, everything bagel with cream cheese, strawberries.. However - what I loved about this buffet was a different offering that most don't have ... fresh, roasted vegetables zucchini, green beans, squash). They were so tender and flavorful. My review in one sentence: The service was AWFUL!!! We had an 11:00am reservation and we left at 2:05pm. We came with a group of 6 for my wife's birthday and used travelzoo coupons for 6 prie fix meals plus all you can eat buffet and bottomless drinks. Firstly, it took 20 minutes to be acknowledged after we were seated...LITERALLY!!! We were a group of friends who spent the time chatting as we waited, but the wait time was unacceptable. We weren't even asked if wanted water! Eventually we had to walk over to the hostess stand and ask to be helped. Finally, our server (Melvin/Marvin???), who seemed very flustered, came over to help us. The server told us that the travelzoo voucher was for either the buffet OR the prie-fix, which was incorrect. After we ordered / stated that we wanted the buffet, I got up and spoke with the hostess again, who confirmed that I was correct and that the server was incorrect. So, those of us who didnt place an order for prie-fix, did so and the rest of us who had, proceeded to start with the buffet. Throughout our 3 hours at the restaurant, we were NEVER asked if we wanted refills on our "bottomless" drinks. Additionally, our water/coffee/tea wasn't refilled EVER. We had to flag someone down to request it. It was finally time for the food to arrive (or so we thought). 1 person received their first course (soup), completely finished it, and then the rest of us received our first course 15 minutes later. Two hours into our time there the main course came out...well, 4 of the 6 did. After 10 minutes of waiting and the food getting cold, the 4 who did receive their food began to eat (since it was now cold). We asked the server about the other 2 entrees and he said that they were backed up in the kitchen. The restaurant was not completely filled, so not sure how they were backed up. 30 minutes went by and they brought out ONE of the two missing entrees. In the mean time we had been asking to speak with a manager the entire time and kept being brushed off by the server. Once that 5th entree arrived we asked for it to be boxed up since everyone else was finished eating. The other missing entree NEVER came out. We finally spoke to a manager after asking to speak to one 6 times and they brought the last entree out in a to-go box. We were never offered or given our dessert, so we had to ask for them to put them in a to-go box, as well. Every time our waiter would come by to apologize, which was the only thing he came to do, we were never offered any drink refills. He would apologize about the food etc but never even brought forks or refilled our drinks, which is BASIC service. The food was good, so no complaints about that. OVER 3 HOURS and the entire time entailed TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, AWFUL, ATROCIOUS service. This is the Beverly Hilton and our meals were NOT cheap. I don't think it is out of the question to EXPECT good service. read more

Great for groups too, so you can come in around 12, eat a bit, get into a great conversation about art or racism, then eat some more and/or sip a mimosa... Quite right! (it is L.A. so...decide what you wanna wear. I wore a blazer and jeans, but since it's in the lower lobby of the Bev Hilton, people often came down in their normal tourist lounge clothes. I'd just avoid anything super flashy or trashy.) Only 4 stars because the European (German?) waiter was VERY cold to my all-brown party at first. My friends and I got a living social deal for this place that was $55 for 2 people for a two course brunch PLUS bottomless champs PLUS the entire AYCE buffet PLUS a dessert tower with enough desserts for everyone to have at least one of the 5-6 different kinds. AMAZING. And so much food!! The all you can eat buffet featured an omelette station, cheese and meats, scrambled eggs, a variety of muffins, toasts and bagels, BACON, sausage links, a variety of fruit and yogurts. The menu that you order off of comes with a starter: your choice of a salad, soup of the day, crab cake, or calamari. The entrees you can chose from were equally amazing and high-end: mushroom ravioli, lobster cob salad, shrimp scampi, huevos rancheros, salmon fillet, braised beef and more! Everyone enjoyed what they got and there was so much food that we got to try each other's! The service was also amazing. They kept our champagnes filled and were really flexible on what kind of juices each of us wanted: we ordered plain and also with orange, peach, pineapple and pomegranate juices to be added to the champagne. They didn't try to cut us off or anything too (always a plus!). The ambiance was really nice as well. We were seated inside (you can also sit outside poolside) with a great view of the pool and the outside area. Very nice and relaxing. Well, what do you know. a niiiice dining experience in a hotel. I would think that any restaurant which had supplanted a TEMPLE OF KITSCH like Trader Vic's would not get my vote, but I was wrong. (Trader Vic's still exists, as a lounge. It is just not the same tikitastic experience). I met a dear friend in from NYC at Circa. I was first to arrive. Now, as a frequent business traveler, i have been known to eat in hotel restaurants solo (which I usually detest), so I appreciated being greeted by a sweet hostess with an immediate "Hi! How are you? One?" without a batted eye. I did see solo diners here and they looked happy. Anyway, I was seated and the wait staff were attentive from the word go- I mean serious restaurant attentive. Everything appeared on the table immediately- bread, water, etc., and they gave me the menu AND WINE LIST to peruse. Strangely enough in late 2007 there are still restaurants which only give the wine list to the man. This was the tone the whole evening- friendly and very attentive but not obsequious service and a waiter who recommended excellent wines and dishes. We had a couple glasses of a nice spicy South African red and split the goat cheese ravioli app. HEAVEN. Then my bud had tenderloin and I in a rare (no pun intended) steak moment had the NY Steak. Both were good; I'd recommend the tenderloin as better, as did our waiter (I never listen, my mom has always said so!). I wouldn't say this is anywhere close to best steak in L.A. but it's totally good. We finished with the dessert list. Now, as my dining companion is a close male buddy, we had been talking love travails all eve. On this dessert list was "exotic homemade sorbets with European financier". Now..I know that is a kind of biscuit- but a girl can hope. Who knew one could just order off the menu? Anyway, we asked the waiter and he admitted 'twas just a biscuit. So we went with a dessert called "Journey to Chocolate". I mean....who could refuse? There are three small choco desserts in this- a chocolate mousse with thyme (awesome, if kinda odd); an opera cake (HEAVEN again); and a chocolate soup (uhh, not so much). Still- DELICIOUS. Almost as good as a European financier. I would have to say that, while I might not put Circa 55 on my regular go-to list, it was a very pleasant evening and the service was impeccable. 2 of us went there for brunch on Sun to celebrate Malaysian Independence Day. Opted for the all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast table with bottomless champagne at $35 each and an additional $10 each for an additiona 3-course prix fixe choice. From this, we had the lobster bisque and goat cheese salad w marcona almonds - both delish. For mains, had the salmon as well as the short ribs (got the short ribs to go!) - Salmon was delicious. Was also given a dessert platter ( w choc mousse cake, macaron et al ) which we took to go as well. From the buffet, we got the omelette which was really tasty as well as the usual bacon,pork sausage and hashbrowns. Also got the eggs benedict and smoked salmon - all tasty as well as few rounds of banana+pound cake. Most post-modern aspect of the Bev. Hilton catrillion dollar makeover -- food/drinks are pricey, as you'd imagine, but quite good. Beers are $6-7, specialty martinis up to $14. Their house specialty, the Circatini is a smooth rum 'tini (Appleton Dark) with a bit of fruit juice. The food looked pretty good, but again, go here on an expense account. I stuck to the bar, where there are two plasma screens with sports, the lighting is nice and dim, and there is a pretty killer outdoor area. read more

Let me start off by saying the service here is amazing. Employees make sure they do all that they can to assist and help you while you're dining at Circa 55. My server Frank was amazing!! The Sunday brunch is amazing as well. I mean who could complain about unlimited mimosas and Tons of options for your Sunday brunch dining. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that for the price. The food is not amazing. It's simply good/salad. At roughly $50 a person I would expect the food to taste amazing. Perhaps the slight inebriation that comes with a couple unlimited mimosas helps with the taste of food but if you're sober you realize the price of the food is not correlating with its taste. It's not to say I wouldn't come back here but there are tons of different options in LA for Sunday brunch around the same price point that taste significantly better (like the Tavern in Brentwood). #EatHereOrNot read more
