The food here was filling, rich, and delicious. As much as I loved my main, the banana tart was really the star of the show! I had great service as well. I was there in a largish group and our waiter was really on top of everything. Vibes were also great!

Just like my hometown of NYC, Los Angeles is blessed with an overabundance of wonderul hotels, many of which have first class restaurants. And some are tucked away on charming canopied side streets so you would have to know where they are to take advantage of them. Last year I had been compiling lists of places that might serve holiday meals when other venues are closed and Cavatina was on the list. However, I thought it might be on Sunset Blvd (guess I wasn't paying attention) and thought the parking would be a nightmare, so I tabled it. Well, I revisited my list and found that it is on a side street, yes in West Hollywood, but no, not on Sunset! Joy! Two-hour parking can be found in various spots surrounding the Marquis with maybe ten minutes of searching, so that was a breeze. I will talk about the hotel separately. For now, I was bowled over at how charming and pretty the restaurant is. It truly emblemizes its name for a short and simple aria. My pictures will illustrate the environment -- literally awash in water features and surrounded by trees and flowers. There are hummingbirds (and the largest coi I have ever seen) everywhere and the place to be is on the covered patio where you can absorb the natural vibe while having excellent food. If it is this verdant in December, imagine April! Now, my second concern was whether or not I would find enough vegetarian dishes and was pleased to see quite a number of possibilities on the menu (see my photos). Everything was perfect, each item. Our servers Theo, Mario, and Robin were the soul of efficiency and cheer. They attended to us promptly, understood our choices, and brought them out in no time. The portions were so generous that we took half of it home and couldn't take advantage of what I am sure was a superior dessert array. That means we have to go back and I am looking forward to it. This is a hidden Hollywood treasure. If you are in the area, do visit during their long hours. You will thank me!

We tried the Chef's Tasting Menu and were delighted by the experience. The staff were very welcoming and seemingly excited for us to enjoy the meal. The outside dining was quaint and protected from the elements so we never worried about getting cold. Each course was timed to give us an opportunity to savor it thoroughly. The chef even came out to visit with us for a bit.

Cavatina is in a park like setting in the Sunset Marquis Hotel. It is an open patio looking out to this tranquil space. Great service with an interesting menu on the high side. I ordered the GRILLED BLUE PRAWN SALAD mango, peppers, green curry goddess, peanuts. This was delicious. My client ordered the Detroit square pizza which he enjoyed. A relaxing chill setting and don't forget to check out the Morrison Hotel Gallery.

    This dessert was amazing!

We had both dinner and breakfast at Cavatina when we stayed at the Sunset Marquis. Walking through the tree-lined path to the restaurant felt like we walking into a jungle. It felt tropical and isolated. The restaurant is surrounded by both a waterfall and flowing water right next to the seated area. It's an open-air plan. There are space heaters when it gets chilly out. It is so beautiful and peaceful! It doesn't feel like you're in L.A. What an oasis in the city! The staff were all very friendly from the host to the server. They engaged us in conversation and were so attentive. The food was amazing! We enjoyed both meals. Everything was delicious from the cocktails to the appetizers, entrees and dessert. The Chocolate Espresso Daquoise dessert was a stand-out. The Sunset Spread was a huge appetizer - definitely to share! I lived in L.A. for many years and never knew about this place. I'm grateful I do now. I can't wait to return.

Dined at Cavatina with a large group and it was fantastic! The squid ink pasta was rich and flavorful, and the service handled our party effortlessly. Great atmosphere and perfect for group gatherings--highly recommend!

Above and beyond in every way! We came to Cavantina as a group of ten to celebrate a birthday, and they absolutely delivered. From start to finish, the service was incredible. They were so accommodating, even creating a custom, off-menu dessert just for the birthday boy, complementary, at that! When my partner's original order wasn't available, they went out of their way to make him a special off-menu dish instead, which he loved. On top of that, they stayed open an hour later than usual so we could keep the celebration going, something you just don't see much anymore. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service genuinely went above and beyond. We left full, happy, and already talking about when we'll be back. Highly recommend!

The atmosphere is very serene. As I was staying on property I arrived for an early breakfast when the air is still crisp. I had the perfect view of humming birds sipping nectar from the blooms of a charming ancient tree. The sound of the waterfall was tranquil and relaxing. I felt very comfortable there as a solo traveler although there were many groups there were also a good number of solo diners. The first day I ordered the Birria Benedict which is served with sopes vs trad English muffin which made for a unique textural experience. I also enjoyed the wellness drinks like the detox greens, although it was a bottled drink it still hit the mark. The following day I ordered the continental breakfast which came with a latte or you can have traditional drip coffee, a juice (pineapple/grapefruit/orange), toast, and house made jam. I was pretty happy with my three drink rotation water, latte, and juice. I also ordered some lox and cream cheese. I would most likely skip the lox next time bc it had a strong smell and I wasn't sure if it had gone bad. The fruit that came was a nice variety I'd dragonfruit, raspberries, melon, blackberries, and blue berries. If I stayed an additional day I would try the acai bowl. Overall it was pleasant experience and I would love to return when the construction is complete on the rest of the hotel since it's quite a beautiful property. Nice to have found a little oasis in weho. IYKYK

A hidden gem! If you know.. you know. The food is really good here and they know how to make a delicious Paper Plane. I recommend the shorts ribs and fingerling potatoes, you will not be disappointed I promise. The ambiance is beautiful, you walk by lights, trees and a koi pond on the way in and it's very intimate. Typically there's an older crowd here and the hotel itself is full of music memorabilia. The hotel has a small gallery when you first walk in which is definitely worth a look at before you head in to the restaurant

Cavatina is a cool spot for sure ! Definitely more secluded/ private / romantic. We went on a Saturday at 6pm and it was empty- felt like we had the whole place to ourselves which was nice, but it picked up a little later in the night. There is valet since street parking is difficult for dinner time. The service was great! The food is a little pricey but very good quality. We ordered a few apps and a pasta which was delicious ! Also, the Violet Underground cocktail was super yummy and highly recommend. We were hoping for some different food options and more dessert selections but overall we enjoyed our experience !

For our dinner, Jamie W. and I weren't looking to venture far from our comfortable room at the Sunset Marquis in WeHo (review: https://bit.ly/43uWPE5), so we went downstairs and walked a few yards to their in-house al fresco restaurant. It's hidden away on the hotel's grounds in a way that made it feel quite exclusive. We felt like Lucy and Ethel at the Brown Derby on "I Love Lucy". Except there was no throwing pies at Bill Holden or any of the rock music superstars who supposedly stay here. The best we could do was get seated next to a portrait of Aretha Franklin. The menu was full of temptations kinda on the ka-ching side. We started with the $26 Sunset Spread, a California-style mezze platter with three dipping sauces, crudité, olives, and grilled pita wedges. What stood out were the uniquely flavorful sauces: coconut yogurt tzatziki, edamame hummus, and beet muhamarra (photo: https://bit.ly/44m9vOV). For his entree, Jamie ordered the $44 Spicy Bucatini Pasta, an especially rich seafood pasta dish with lobster, shrimp, scallop, calamari, tomatoes, and Thai basil (photo: https://bit.ly/3XOrEme). I went more carnivorous with the $55 Dusted Prime Rib Filet. It consisted of a pair of trimmed, well tenderized filets sitting atop creamed baby Tokyo turnips and hedgehog mushrooms and drizzled with a black garlic bordelaise (photo: https://bit.ly/3DdO472). Pretty hearty, well executed. We decided to share the $22 Black Truffle Fries, quite a pile mixed with Parmesan fondue and the black garlic bordelaise (photo: https://bit.ly/3O8IEAh). We were getting stuffed and couldn't finish them off. By this time, we noticed the decidedly El Lay diners surrounding us. A round table full of suits. Professional wmen dining alone. Older guy and younger chick both in lululemon feeding each other dessert. Speaking of which, we still made room to share the $13 Honey Crisp Apple Crisp with cinnamon oat streusel, caramel ice cream, and sea salt (photo: https://bit.ly/3JS6aPl). A fine finish. FOOD - 4 stars...generous portions of creative takes on mainstream fine food AMBIANCE - 4.5 stars...liked the private 'outdoor' setting away from the Sunset noise SERVICE - 4 stars...attentive enough TOTAL - 4 stars...SoCal upscale casual with prices to match RELATED - Exploring LA? 5/5 - Flavor-packed, thoughtful plating, and absolutely worth the visit…read more This spot delivers on both flavor and presentation. I ordered a loaded carne asada-style dish served over fresh greens, and every bite was intentional and well-balanced. The beef was deeply seasoned, tender, and slightly crisped in places, which added great texture. It was topped with a creamy, slightly tangy sauce that tied everything together without overpowering the meat. What really stood out was the attention to detail: pickled red onions for acidity, fresh greens for balance, and a side of house-made pickled vegetables that cut through the richness perfectly. The tostada-style side topped with avocado, herbs, and onions added a nice contrast--crunchy, fresh, and vibrant. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Portion size was generous without feeling excessive, and the dish felt hearty yet clean. I paired it with a refreshing citrus drink that complemented the meal well and kept everything light. Overall, this is the kind of place where you can tell the kitchen cares about execution. Bold flavors, great balance, and a presentation that looks just as good as it tastes. I would absolutely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for a satisfying, well-crafted meal

She handed us menus and told us to order at the counter when we were ready and they serve breakfast all day. The menu can feel a little intimidating. It has Mexican, Guatemalan and Salvadoran which I am not all that familiar with. We landed on a couple of pupusas and a couple of fish tacos. There are signs letting you know the food is cooked to order and to expect a 20-25 minute wait, so at least they set expectations up front. The dining room was small but warm and colorful and there were additional tables set up just outside the front door. We had no problem finding a table inside. When the food came out, the portions were generous and the presentation was better than you'd expect from a humble neighborhood grill. The pupusas were crisp on the outside with plenty of filling, and the fish tacos were fresh and well-seasoned -- nothing greasy, nothing bland. Friendly service, solid food, and a spot I'd definitely come back to now that I know what to order.

It's small dish style, so super fun to come with a group and try a bunch of different things. They had a ton of great options for vegetarians! It was a bit chilly outside but they have a lot of heated lamps on which helps a lot. I loved everything we ordered but I think my favorites (as a vegetarian) were the brussel sprouts, salatim, and the elote. The cashew pate and beet dip with the salatim were realllly good. The brussel sprouts were crispy and had a yummy sauce. The beet salad was good but I wanted it to have more of the goat cheese spread. The cauliflower was also really good - roasted and a little spicy. They had a fun list of cocktails and mocktails as well. The food came out at a good pace and I left feeling veryyy full. An Absolute Masterpiece of a Lunch!…read more My friend was visiting from New York, and I wanted to take her somewhere truly special for lunch. Since it was our first time at République, we didn't quite know what to expect, but we were completely blown away! From the atmosphere to the service and, of course, the food--everything was flawless. The Main Event Blueberry Pancake: My friend ordered this, and it was huge and incredibly delicious. A total crowd-pleaser. Filipino Pork Belly Adobo: I ordered this and was so impressed by how rich and deeply flavorful it was. Absolutely delicious. World-Class Service & Hospitality The service here is incredibly efficient, but what really made our day was the staff. Rambo took care of us and he was fantastic--so pleasant, attentive, and proactive with everything we needed. We also had the absolute pleasure of meeting the owner! It was so impressive to see her on the floor working just as hard as the rest of the team. She was incredibly nice and you can tell she truly cares; we watched her personally ensure the quality of the dishes was on point before they ever left the kitchen. That level of dedication explains why this place is so successful. Do Not Skip Dessert! Before you leave, you must hit the pastry counter. We grabbed a few things to try, and they were sinfully good: Kouign-Amann: Flaky, caramelized perfection. Basque Cheesecake: Rich, creamy, and beautifully baked. Chewy Chocolate Cookie: Perfectly textured and decadent. We had such a beautiful experience here. République lived up to the hype and then some. We will definitely be back, and we're bringing our friends and family next time!

The food was INCREDIBLE and I was SO pleasantly surprised by how much food there was! We ended up with soooooo many leftovers! Family style meals always make me a little nervous, but the portions were plentiful and all of our guests left completely stuffed. The bread and butter was a standout, as well as the corn puff pastry appetizer (I can't remember exactly what it was called!). The steak and chicken main courses were to die for and the strawberry tiramasu was incredible. I could go on and on about the food. It really exceeded our expectations. Jared, our server was WONDERFUL. He was so attentive and on top of things. He communicated with my husband and I whenever he needed to and made our entire dinner so seamless and fun. The only downside to the experience was in planning the evening. I struggled a bit when it came to communicating with Sandra in the days/weeks leading up to our dinner. I didn't feel like we were a priority and often had to call or email multiple times to get a response. I found that to be very frustrating, especially because it was such an important part of our wedding and in the days leading up to getting married, the last thing I wanted to be doing was waiting on an email from the restaurant or hunting down a response about our beverage menu. I was also really bummed to see that when we got to the restaurant, our dinner menu had the wrong date printed on it. I wanted to bring one of the menus home as a keepsake, but it felt pointless when I saw the typo. There were also drinks on the beverage menu that we had never discussed, which was another disappointment. It ultimately didn't ruin our overall experience, but I think it's worth noting for other people planning larger dinner parties at Republique because I do wish a little more care had been taken on the restaurant's end while planning our dinner.

The chicken Caesar wrap is a huge hit and i know the Gen Z's love this according to my younger sister lol. I feel like you can't go wrong here, always something for everyone. We've brought friends and family here over the years and we'll always continue to do so. The service is also super friendly . I love that they expanded to the side walk because the wait times used to be even crazier when it was just the patio . I remember sooo well. Love the expansion. I know there's more changes and new things to come as time progresses and we'll be here to see it :)
