Usually I don't take bad reviews seriously but when you see 5 bad reviews out of 12 you know there's a problem. This review is specifically for Luke, the community manager. Long story short, I was told the apartment I liked was leased out to someone else two days before I head over sign my contract, everything was agreed by both parties via emails. When I contacted the manager and wanted to know what's going on, basically I was told " a lot ppl don't do what they say they would do,(I assume ppl promised that they will sign the lease contact but ended up they don't), if you don't like the way how it is, we can be part ways)." To me, that means you are screwed cuz you are too late by this unprofessional and untrained manager. Then I was offered a higher floor with same price and other conditions that we agreed on before, because I loved the apartment enough at that time so I still took it, tell myself to ignore what he just said, also agreed that will go there tomorrow sign the contract on my day off. 15 mins later my lease agent sent me an email saying that the manager Luke has to change one of the condition that we were both agreed on , (the parking spots on lower level is ran out because I am too late). Google the apartment and you will see this is not the first time similar situation happened. -to circa LA corporate, if you are reading this, you really have to invest your employee especially your management team, the units are not moving quick enough for a reason. This is the worst/most unluxury client service I have ever had and it's from one of your manager. Such a great community run by the wrong ppl. Complains everywhere online and now you have another bad review with details and the truth. -guys who are looking for an LUXURY apartment, you pay ENOUGH to get the best service that you deserved, look around, I found something the very next day(the day I supposed to sign my lease contract with Circa), I promise you for the similar pricing you can find better unit with better view especially with better service. By far the worst experience I have ever had with an apartment complex. Upon setting up an appointment with the front desk for a tour, I arrived at my scheduled time to be told they had "no record of my appointment" and sent back out the door after having driven 2 hours to Los Angeles. I was in a time crunch to find housing before my graduate program started, and decided to continue along with the application nonetheless. Due to my international status, circa demanded I have $90,000 in my bank account for a 13 month lease to "verify ability to pay" which is absolutely egregious and discriminatory against international applicants. At this point I had already paid a deposit and holding fee which totaled to $850. After this ordeal I was forced to stay in an Airbnb a week into my studies until I found another apartment. Upon finding one, I reached out to circa to reclaim the refundable $850 that I had paid them. The first two times I called, they transferred me repeatedly until eventually dropping the call. I called again the next day, only to be reassured by "corporate" -that they again transferred me to - that my refund was being processed. I verified twice with them that they would send it to the correct address. A month later, not having received the refund, I call again only to find out that the refund had been sent to an address that was 5 years old. I had now changed addresses, three times. Circa was completely impotent as usual, telling me that they were unable to resend the check and I must contact my previous landlord. When I inquired as to how they could possibly think to send a check to a 5 year old address AFTER I had specifically specified the address to send it to, they remained on the defensive that they sent it to the address I told them to. I asked to be transferred to corporate again, and was denied as suddenly they have "never had" the corporate phone number, despite having supposedly transferred me to it just a month prior. 5 months later, I am out $850 and circa continues to tell me my check is "on the way" each time I call- assuming they are gracious enough to answer my phone calls in the first place. We all know searching and moving apartments can be quite stressful, I felt the same until I met Olesha Brown at Circa LA apartments. Olesah greeted me with a huge smile and I knew I was in good hands. She took me on the tour and explained everything. Nothing was too much trouble for Olesha and whenever I called with additional questions she took my call and made me feel very comfortable. The views are outstanding, the cleanliness of the property is 100% the amenities are wonderful and I am beyond delighted to have moved into my new apartment which I absolutely love. I looked at a few luxury buildings in the DTLA area and Circa was a cut above the rest in my opinion. My deciding factor to live at Circa was the staff and amenities. The leasing associate Manny went above and beyond to ensure all my needs were met and he followed up with me to make sure I was satisfied with all my accommodations. This is a review of the parking facility. I parked my vehicle in the public parking structure attached to Circa LA on the evening of 5/27/21. I returned and my vehicle was missing. When I approached the parking attendants and informed them that my vehicle was likely stolen, they were very unhelpful and sent me on a wild goose chase with security, who finally said they don't manage the public parking portion. I have filed a police report with the LAPD and my vehicle still hasn't been found, but in the meantime, I'd suggest for people NOT TO PARK HERE. I used to always park here because I thought it was safe and secured, but that does not seem to be the case. I have always seen very expensive and very high end vehicles parking here, so I believed that security would be top notch. Again, does not seem to be the case. I was told that they do not have the ability to let me view the security footage either. What good is it to have cameras, if you cannot let vehicle owners view footage if their vehicle was stolen! read more

I don't know what's with some of these negative reviews. This is the best apartment I've ever lived in. The staff of a building, tells you what to expect. I met Manny on day 1 here, he was my leasing agent, and I felt at home here. That's not an exaggeration, either. This place really feels like home, which is a strong thing to say for somebody who just moved to LA a couple months ago from Virginia. Manny is the man. He is the one I recommend you talk to. I'm sure the other leasing agents are great too, but I only know Manny, and that guy is awesome. That man loves what he does and he is great at it. The resident managers, Caitlin and Olesha, you couldn't ask for two people better at what they do. They make life here better. I can't say enough good things about them. They don't get enough appreciation from the residents, in my opinion. The security staff, they are some of the best you could ask for. They deal with a lot of crap from people in and outside the building, and they still are all cool, down to earth, classy, and upbeat and positive! They also don't get enough credit and appreciation for what they do. The property itself, I don't know what's with people saying there's paper walls. Both of my neighbors, on each side of me, we've tested our music full blast. The sound does not go through the walls. Personally, I love coming home here. I wake up and have views of LA in every direction for miles, and I have that when I go to sleep, and have that throughout my day. It's everything I could ask for in a location. Honestly, I did not want to write this review, because I don't want more people moving in and slowing my super fast elevators, but hey, the truth is the truth, and this place deserves the props, it doesn't get enough credit. Where do I start? First things first, circa is a nice building and is located right in front of the staples center. My husband and I with our 2 children lived here for a year. When I originally signed the lease I was promised if I left a 5 star review I would get a $500 credit towards my lease by there GM, Chad V..... Trusting them I did just that. One year later and still No credit ofcourse. Now here is where things get crazy. When I deleted those reviews, 1 week later I got an eviction notice for some fake bogus reason. I then get a random call from Chad saying that he saw that I removed my review and ensured me if i put my reviews back on he would ensure I wouldn't get evicted. After speaking with my attorney and police about this fraud and scammer my family and I decided to move. I later found out that I wasn't the only victim of this scam. I m sure now that I am speaking out, other victims will as well. This OBVIOUSLY explains all the moving trucks and the over 50% occupancy percentage at Circa LA now. Don't rent from these people. There Assistant Manager Luke is just as worst. They both try to play good cop and bad cop. read more

We moved in since they just opened,so we had to deal with a lot of things. The parking situation was really the worst! It is really noisy in the east tower I can really hear my neigbours in their houses I can hear people in the hallway The badtubs are sooooo ridiculous low??? The view may be nice,but you don't life in the view? The walkinclosets are really rubish Also the filming of the lethal weapon in the building was a little bit disturbing and I think they should've done like a question round with the tenants I do like the people that handle our 'situations' at all times and making sure they do their best to fix our little problems.I really want to thank Garret he's helped us see all the appartments before we decided we wanted to move in.I want to thank Chad and Luke for always following up.But the ones who always help us with the amenities are Louis and Kevin.They always help us with a smile and fix our sink and bathtub problems.Thankyou guys!Such hard workers!I also want to thank Donald,Casandra and Marcus from security,who are always warm when we enter the building and make us feel welcome and safe in the building! read more

I have to admit I was a bit skeptical moving downtown. I wasn't quite sure if it was for me. I'm so glad I did it! My dogs love living here. Having 2 dog parks on the property is thee best amenity in DTLA! They say the love is in the details so to me vegan dog treats is pure love. And speaking of love, let's not even get started on how much the staff cares. Olesha is an absolute gem! With all of the above, how I could not be sold on the move?! I've been living here at Circa for about the last ten months. If it weren't for the incompetent people that work in the leasing office, I would have given them a rating of a 2.5. The walls in my apartment are SO thin! I hear someone closing their shades and I swear it sounds like it's coming straight from my living room. There's a person with a dog that lives above me and I can hear their dog dropping its ball on the floor all throughout the day/night. And again, it sounds like it's coming from my own apartment. You will literally hear every sound that's made. I'm on the 27th floor and still can hear the train so loudly. I knew that the train ran close to my apartment so I'm not placing blame with them on that. However, just another example of how you will be able to hear everything, even being high up. The interior of the apartment is nice, I like the finish on the cabinets and countertops but my unit is extremely small and overly expensive but I guess that's just the name of the game when living in Cali. The location is great and convenient. And the amenities are nice, although they can't be used right now due to Covid. I've never had any issues with concierge, they've always been nice and helpful but the people in the leasing office is another story!! Just to get an answer (trying to do a lease takeover) I have to keep calling them and the person I need to speak to is ALWAYS on tour or on the phone. I understand that they get busy and some days may be busier than others. But so many hours will pass by and I still won't hear back. And guess what? It's me having to call them, yet again! The next day rolls around and it's the same story. Just so damn slow with response time and that just drives me up the wall! read more

I recently moved into Circa LA and I am very happy with my apartment. I have had a few maintenance issues and have been very satisfied with the maintenance response time which is very quick less than two hours. In my last apartment it was a day or two. My last request involved my stove. Jason and Omar responded right away and took care of my issue very professionally and quickly. Jason and Omar are the best! I feel like I am in good hands here with the maintenance team and management team. Shout out to Bryant as well he is an awesome leasing agent and made it possible for me to lease a dream apartment. My partner and I are looking for a new apartment and Circa was by far the least professional and unorganized apartment complex we've visited. I first scheduled an appointment through there online scheduling feature. When we arrived for the appointment they didn't have us in the system (terrible customer service with the front desk as well). I called a few days later to schedule over the phone and was told someone would call me to confirm my appointment. Days go by and I get no call. I decided to give them a third chance and called this last Thursday and they confirmed an appointment for today. We arrived and they had us waiting for 30 minutes in the lobby. Again, poor customer service with the front desk. We decided to just leave and told them we are not interested. If this is how it's like on the front end of getting an apartment, I can even imagine what the hassle is like living there. read more

Let me start by saying that my experience leasing with Circa LA was unprecedented, unprofessional, misleading and just outwardly discriminatory. A little bit about me -- I am not a review writer (in fact, this might be my first one), I am gainfully employed, make a great living and have lived in, and have been successfully approved for many luxury apartment buildings in my lifetime. I am in good standing on all leases, past and present, and (prior to this) had never had an incident where I felt stereotyped or discriminated against. As I look back on this experience, I still give Circa the benefit of the doubt, even when the facts are just so obvious. In short, I applied on 10/18, received an application approval for residency on 10/22, but then the leasing agent strung me along for two weeks with little communication--rarely returned my phone calls (was either busy, in a meeting, or had left early for the day.) and would go silent for days on email. He asked me to provide verification for an additional month of income than the standard process required, accused me of having "suspicious" paperwork and asked me to psychically log in to my bank accounts from his computer to prove that I had been truthful; he stereotyped me to be a hair dresser and tried to call bluff on my employment; then, 14 days after receiving an approval decision, chasing down the leasing agent for a move in date and back and forth of proving my income added up, my bank accounts were real and that I might actually have worked where I said I did, he overturned my application approval decision and told me that I had been "accidentally" approved based on a partial rental history report, when the screening company directly confirmed that only one completed report remained on file. This is not a fabrication. It seemed that every time that I was able to legitimize myself in one way, I would be asked to provide more, do more, or wait longer than the norm; seemingly, I think, as a ploy set to get me to withdraw my application from the process. I can't imagine that every applicant at Circa is put through this same exhaustive experience (in fact, I know this is not the case) - and I wonder if Circa considers my screening process to have been timely, equitable, fair or consistent with operating standards -- that I believe, is debate-able. Still waiting to hear back from the agent on the # to their corporate office and an ETA on when I can expect my deposit back. No word yet. read more

What the staff will not tell any new residents is Monday August 26 will be the start of a 600 day construction project with noise warning from 6:30am until 11:30pm for a 45 story hotel that will block all West facing views. The weekends are raging pool parties and they do nothing about ignorant dog owners that let their dogs urinate and dedicate all over the halls. This place is the most mismanaged building in Los Angeles they are still trying to clean up a 16 story flood because of the poor quality of the building over all. On the surface it looks beautiful and then once you are in everything is a cheap cob job!!!!! There solution is to leave and forfeit your deposit. read more
