I took my car that i recently bought to Ira in dire need of attention. My belts popped as i was on federal Highway and i wasnt sure of what i was getting myself into when i walked into his shop. I did know that i needed a mechanic immediately. I give these guys 3 F's....FAST....FRIENDLY....FAIR! My wife had taken her car to Circle Car for an oil change...about a month later Ira called to tell her his credit card machine double charged her and he refunded the money. I just took my truck in, as I had a bad brake caliber and it had warped my disk. I had decided to change the hub, disk and caliber but did not think I had the skill to do it. Took the parts to Ira and he used my parts (many mechanics wont do that) and replaced both left and right front hubs, disks and calibers plus the brake lines as hey had heated up from the warped disk. He pointed out some other minor issues and even told me that I got a better price on my parts then he could, but it took me 10 days to get my parts, where he can have them there the same day. Over all, Ira is the most impressive mechanic I have met in my 60 years of driving a car. He is a fantastic diagnostician, fast worker with an able, no-time-to-waste disciplined staff, and he is reasonably priced (actually, he charged me way less than two other shops had quoted). He is also a kind and caring gentleman, with a wonderfully warm smile. The first time I met him I was riding around in my car with an air filter on the passenger seat. I bought it at the Ford dealer, and asked how much they wanted to install it. They wanted $20. I count pennies living on Soc. Sec., so I said "No, thanks; I'll put it in myself". It turned out that I needed a long-shaft power tool to remove the fasteners from the housing, so I had been hunting in my neighborhood for a small mechanic's shop assuming they would charge less than a dealership. He asked what he could do for me, and I explained about having purchased the air filter and finding I could not install it. He asked me "Would you like us to pop it in for you?" He did. In three minutes. Then with his Santa-like smile, waved me on. No charge. Of course I knew I would come back when I had a real mechanical issue. I wished I had used him to have my oil changed, completed about an hour earlier some place else. They were supposed to put in a new air filter, but did not have one in stock, and for some reason couldn't order one. I had to go buy my own, but I refused to pay $20 for installing it at the dealership. It was exactly a month later when I decided to take my car to Ira. I needed spark plugs, but in addition, there had been a clicking noise somewhere ever since the day I had the oil changed, and wanted Circle Car Care to check it out. Someone took a test drive with me, and of course "the funny noise" disappeared. After the drive Ira filled out a work order for the spark plugs, handed the sheet to an assistant to get the labor started, and then sat down in the waiting area and chatted with me. As I talked, he listened with the eager rapt attention of a Golden Retriever waiting to get a treat, always smiling, laughing easily. While I was waiting, I was working on a project I brought with me, coloring a pair of tan shoes with a black marker before I would stain them black, but with elderly hands, was having trouble pulling the lace tips through the eyelets. Ira offered to help me, and took the laces out completely before going out to work on the car. He came back in about five minutes telling me there was a faint tapping in my engine that he wanted me to listen to. With the engine powered up, I could hear a faint clicking and recognized it immediately. "That's it"; it was the clicking noise that I wanted an answer for. Instantly Ira said the noise was caused by having the wrong weight oil in the engine. Then instead of asking if I wanted them to change the oil, he told me to take the car back to the person who changed the oil and demand that they change it again, with no charge to me. My car requires an odd weight - 20 W 50 instead of 30 W 30. The entire spark plug job and installing a tail-light bulb took less than 20 minutes, and the price he charged was a full third less than my previous mechanic had quoted me. My over-all appraisal? Low-priced; expert, quick and professional work; from a kind and gentle man with an open heart and genuine, great smile. A+ read more

Great Experience. Normally very skeptical about mechanics - my friends car broke down on the way to my house - we were told by the Tow truck guy that it was the alternator that needed to be replaced. Ira was very honest and within minutes diagnosed the real issue and did not take advantage of my friend and I. Issue was fixed quickly and my friend was on his way. Use caution when going to this place for service. They will rip you off as quick as you pull off a band-aid. Ira charged an excessive amount to not even fix my car. Brought the car to another location where it was easily fixed without any hassle and for a very reasonable price. Would not recommend this place to a friend. read more

I wanted to start off by thanking Ira Willner for the great service and hospitality. I went to another facility who informed me that my vehicle needed the radiator replaced as soon as possible. Well my vehicle started leaking coolant and I immediately remember the manager telling me I needed to replace my radiator. I went through the hassle and expense of purchasing a radiator. I didn't want to go back to the original place that told me to get the radiator because they were charging a crazy amount to install it so I was recommended by word of mouth to go see circle car care and speak with Ira. Best decision I could have made. Turns out the facility that told me I needed the radiator misdiagnosed the problem. Ira and his team of professionals gave me the correct diagnoses and it turned out to be only a lower hose that was causing the problem, NOT the radiator. I don't like giving bad reviews because there are so many variables involved and one persons point of view may differ from another but, I think this one might just be merited. I took my car, it's a classic, to Circle Car Care to fix an oil leak. They charged me over a thousand dollars and never fixed the leak. In fact, the repairs they did do had to be redone. They asked for ANOTHER 1,000 dollars to fix the leaks they never fixed in the first place and two other leaks that they identified. They wouldn't even fix the leak they first addressed and were paid for. I took the car to Hollywood Tire and THEY DID fix all three leaks and showed me how the original "fix" Circle did was poorly done and had to be redone completely. In fact, the mechanic there, said "I'm surprised the engine didn't blow up." Hollywood Tire fixed all THREE leaks, perfectly, for 800 dollars and change and the car runs like a dream now with no leaks at all. read more

My first experience with Ira was a great one-- he was both friendly and fair-priced. Unfortunately, my second experience was the polar opposite. He charged me $244.00 for parts that I later discovered were available from Autozone for under $80.00. When I addressed this with him, he told me that if I had told him I didn't have the money for the price he quoted me that he could have knocked off $100.00 by getting different parts. Yet, I HAD indicated to him that I was trying to save money where possible, as evidenced by my asking several times whether there was ANY WAY he could do better on the price. When I asked if there was some way I could see a receipt showing that he paid $244.00 for the parts, he got defensive and refused to display such a receipt. (Likely because he did not actually pay $244.00 for parts available on Rockauto for a whopping total of $54.00 and from Autozone for less than $80.00!) Fortunately, mechanics' businesses are run from word of mouth, so at the least I feel some reprieve from posting this. Customers beware. read more
