eegee's - Turkey sub. Why so skimpy?

I'm usually a bleu cheese girl but for them I'll make an expetion. This ranch compliments the crispy, fresh fried to perfection perfectly salted crinkle cut fries. I only wanted a snack so I got my favorite lemon & strawberry. It was so refreshing and allows the perfect escape from the Arizona heat. I got the kiddie size and it hit the spot. I love that they have their staple flavors but offer a flavor of the month. This month is orange dream. Whether you're a local or just passing through like me be sure to stop in! I promise you won't be disappointed.

I know eegee's is a big deal in Tucson but I've tried it twice now and find it to be just okay. I…read moreordered the turkey sub and it was rather skimpy on ingredients. The flavors are good but there's just not enough substance to it. I also decided to try an eegee and went for their December flavor of the month, Holly Berry. It was good but the whole time I was drinking it I kept thinking this is basically diabetes in a cup. I justified it by knowing it was a one time thing as I live in San Diego and there's not an eegee's in sight. Good treat but not something I'd want frequently. I may return again as I pass through Tucson at least once a year on our way home from Christmas in New Mexico but I think I'll try something different.

This is a review from a pregnant woman point of view. My husband got the slider and tender order. I…read moreavoided to eat the buns and indulged on the chicken and cheese fries. They were very yummy and I was able to tolerate the mild spiciness. Although I will say, since becoming pregnant my body has been very sensitive to foods that have ultraprocessed ingredients and not whole foods. So after eating I felt a bit uncomfortable but no horrible reactions (like the ones I had in chikfile) . So maybe next time I crave fast food I would get just the tenders and fries and eat moderately :)

It was good music just way too loud. The counter server was very soft spoken so it was difficult to hear anything he said over the loud music. I was disappointed that their combos don't include a drink. I ordered a combo #3 that was $13.49 for a slider, a tender and a small fry. Then I had to drop another $2.19 for a small soda. That's a total $15.68 for a lunch combo meal! Way too expensive! It took me 15 minutes to get my combo. People who came in after me received their food before me. The food was marginal at best. The tender in the slider was warm and tender/soft. The side tender was dry and stringy. The seasoning they use was too salty for my taste, and wasn't very hot. Less salt and more hot would have been much better. The fries were warm but very dry. The restaurant was somewhat dirty, especially the front door that was encrusted with oil, grease and seasoning. And worst of all I was bothered by at least 4 flys throughout my lunch there. Overall, not impressed at all. Highly doubt I will ever return to this restaurant.

Ordered the Chile Relleno combo with a beef taco & everything was great, excellent mole sauce & scratch kitchen home cooking taste. Pretty nice selection of slightly off the beaten path craft beers on tap, not a huge selection, but just diverse enough for people who enjoy different styles of beer, not just pils & lagers. Noticed they had some unusual tequila selections, but upon asking, they were collector bottles the owner was displaying, several were signed by the distiller. I was able find an additive-free artesenal brand (most were) & Javier joined me for a nice chat & offered me a free shot of a very fine tequila after we started talking tequila's & only after that did I realize he was Nana's son & part owner. Everything was great from my 1st visit, all of the staff were enthusiastic, friendly & professional while being chill. I was glad I finally stopped in at this location & look forward to returning.

Wasn't a huge fan of the rice, kinda tasted like a hint of musty water but the tacos and beans were still worth the visit... infact, i've had them at other local places near and wasn't a fan at all. The chips and salsa was kind of ok, keeping in mind i'm picky. The restaurant itself was clean and pleasant. Overall, i WILL be back for the tacos!!
