Upon our son recently taking a grouping of swim lessons at the Madison Swim & Racquet club, we've been driving by Circle Pizza twice a day now. We just had to try it, especially after reading on here that their pizza is greek. (I've been missing that kind, all while growing up, I had gone to Post Corner Pizza in Darien, CT and that it the style they have there). During my son's lesson last Friday, I called at 5pm to order a large cheese pizza and an order of spaghetti and meatballs (which was basically a back up in case our son and his 2 year old brother weren't a fan of this kind of pizza). We were told our order would be ready in 20 minutes. After getting changed from the pool, we end up getting there I'd say around 5:33pm. Our order was ready, our total came to a perfect $30.00 even and we were easily out the door. The place is quaint, not much of a sit down place, but you can just tell that they have great take-out. We came home and really enjoyed it. Can you believe our son had 4 slices all himself?! I can't recall any other pizza that he had that much of in one sitting. Needless to say, the spaghetti and meatballs was untouched and the boys happily ate it for multiple meals all weekend long. We've been longing to have this pizza again all week long, so much so that we are going back today! read more

While it looks nondescript from a drive by, they make excellent pizza here. Never a wait longer than 30minutes for takeout, which is always appreciated on Friday or Saturday night. I only go to Circle Pizza once or twice a year because I have a nice little fishing spot up the road a bit. My dad and I have been coming here since I was little. Now about to be 40 this year and my dad just turning 79 it's a real pleasure to see this place still going strong. The food is always good when we go. I've never had the pizza but the sandwiches and breakfast are all really good. Best home fries in the state in my opinion. I've never had poor customer service here and it gives you that old school walk up and order service. I can appreciate that. Prices are great. Stopped by to pick up a bite, as my wife and I were house hunting in Madison and needed a quick bite for lunch. She ordered the eggplant parm on a roll, and I had a meatball sub - provolone, peppers, and onions. Both sandwiches were great, but I have to say the meatball sub was one of THE BEST I've had in years. The meat and sauce were both tasty, the bread was fresh, and the sub was toasted perfectly... fully melting the generous amount of provolone so it was hot and oozing out of the sub. Living in Mass for the past decade or so, we've encountered a lot of joints offering mediocre food, and have been continuously disappointed in the pizzas, subs, and calzones we've tried. It was so refreshing to enjoy a *proper* sub done right, and it very much made my day! read more

I had an awkward experience here. While the sandwich I ordered was really good and was prepared rather quickly, I still don't think I will ever go back. Why? Because customer service is just as important as the food. I went down to Circle pizza on my lunch break. As I was pulling in I saw a father and daughter walk in, as I was walking toward the front door I saw this same father and daughter duo leave looking disappointed. I was pretty sure they were open because the door was unlocked and yelp had their hours posted but when I walked in and stood in front of the counter 2 things occurred to me. Not only were the front 2 cases (for pizza slices maybe?) completely empty, but I was also ignored by the two men standing behind the counter talking with each other until I asked "are you open?" Then and only then did they turn to me and start mocking each for not seeing the "open" sign lit up in the window. Fact is, I didn't see it, and who cares? I asked a simple question based on a set of facts that made me doubt that they were open. I ordered my sandwich even though I wanted to walk out and leave. I only have a short time for lunch and I work late so I couldn't do without, so I decided to stay even though they laughed at me and the sign the whole time. I was so flustered, embarrassed, and humiliated by their bullying that I couldn't even defend my question, I simply kept my head down, let them harass me, and left as quickly as possible. It felt like I'd gone back to high school and the feeling was awful. I can not, in good conscience recommend anyone order from this establishment when there are other wonderful pizza restaurants in the immediate area (Robert's plaza on rt 80, just through the rotary comes distinctly to mind) where the food is great and the CUSTOMER SERVICE is leagues ahead of circle! read more

Call the DEP for the oil slick! The only redeeming fact about this pizza is that it has set a bar for comparison. Every meal that we have from here on out will always be compared to this pizza. It should have come with a squeegee and a roll of Bounty paper towels to deal with all of the grease that was dripping off of the pizza. The cheese was congealed and you could tell is was Grade A government surplus cheese. The only reason why this place received one star is because I have to give some type of rating to be able to review. The pizza should come with a coupon for a free cholesterol screening. read more

I don't know why this place would ever get a single bad review. Nobody's perfect, people make mistakes with orders, it happens. But in my opinion, there are two places on the shoreline that have consistently good PIZZA, one of which is Circle. I eat there with a client of mine at least twice a week, and we always order pizza. Their quesadillas are also amazing! They're very reasonably priced, and the man that runs the place is always super nice and polite to us, even if the new staff that works there can be a little slow. Since it was such a beautiful day here in CT Jeff and I decided to go to the outlets. We decided to take the back roads, and around lunchtime we found this little place. The man at the counter was initially a little rough around the edges and harsh in the way he too our order, but when we took the first bite...his sin was forgiven! We decided to get a grilled chicken 12 inch sub and a small salad. The sub was HUGE!!!! and stuffed with this awesome seasoned chicken! The house dressing on the salad was awesome too! Grew up in Portland CT, right on the border of South Glastonbury and there was this pizza joint is SG everyone knew called Olympic Pizza. It's pretty much the only pie I grew up on and theirs was an amazing greek pizza. Raised, round crispy outer crust, lot of mozz, yet not soggy on the bottom. After going off to college and eating pizza 5X a week from crap pie joints, I came home one summer to find out Olympic was gone...Nick the owner moved his business to the shoreline somewhere and although the Pepe's and Modern's and Marco's are all great pies, there was something about the traditional greek disc that I missed. Moved to Madison and one night stopped off to pick up a last minute dinner from Circle and when I got home and opened the box, there it was: Olympic Redux. Now lets be clear, Circle's pie can be a cheesey/greasy mess that you can put 40 wicks in and it will burn until your next birthday, but its sauce, cheese and crust are solidly made and its the only crust worth finishing in CT. The 'restaurant' is more geared towards takeout although you can sit in and take the kids after a soccer game. Drinks are all in the cooler and they serve grinders, fried mozz and their onion rings are especially good. It's also not the cheapest of pizza--a large cheese is $14 and with 3 toppings its ~$20. I dont think one's heart can stand a steady diet of Circle, but on the occasion where you want a good, tasty greek pie, this is the best place in the area. read more

HORRIBLE customer service. I grew up in Madison and was a customer at Circle for 15 years. Food and customer service were always great. I called yesterday to get an egg sandwich to go. I was told it would take twenty minutes. Fine, I figured they were busy. I went in to pick up my food and get an iced coffee. The man was unbelievably rude. Despite being the only one at the counter, it took several minutes for him to even acknowledge me. When I asked for an iced coffee, the man made a face as if he was annoyed that I asked. It took him 4 minutes to pour my iced coffee. I figured he was having an off day and brushed it off. I went back in this morning hoping he had a bad day or someone else would be working. The options in North Madison are limited. Again, it took the man a couple minutes to acknowledge me. When I asked for a iced coffee, he looked annoyed, sighed and said it would be a couple minutes. I left because I couldn't stand the disrespect. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

Decided to give this restaurant another try after being disappointed in the past. I'm afraid the food has not improved, in fact my son from out of town who originally turned me on to this place was home recently & he couldn't believe how bad the food was. Haven't been able to confirm but I definitely think it has new owners. The quality of the food changed when the old owners left. DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY unless you want to wait almost 2 hrs. I called and they thought I was coming to pick it up even though I said delivery and gave them the address. They said about 45 minutes and when I FINALLY got my food everything was horribly soggy. I've stopped here for food in the past and it was ok for a quick bite but I won't be going back.
