We started with crab and shrimp fresh rolls and pan fried crab and pork dumplings. They were good not great. I liked the sauces that came with each app. Then we had the beef salad it was spicy and tasty my one complaint is that the beef was tough and too thick. We also had the basil rice and ordered shrimp with it. This dish was medium spiced and was good. The staff were not that attentive and one was actually unloading glasses in the middle of the restaurant on a table. Seemed unprofessional. It didn't add to the ambiance. I hope that today was just a bad day for Circles Thai. Ordered through Uber Eats, the food arrived cold and watered down. Crab Rangoon was fine but cold. Pad King was just alright, barely any spices. Peanutty noodles had about half a teaspoon of peanut flavor. Khao Soi was actually inedible besides the piece of chicken that it comes with. The fried noodles on the Khao Soi were placed on top of the watered down sauce, making the entire thing mushy. The edamame ravioli had both amazing unpleasant texture and taste. It seemed like everything was watered down and prepared carelessly. The total before fees was over 50 dollars which is 50 dollars more than it was worth. The pricing is reasonable. : Papaya salad: We ordered this for the table to share throughout the meal, kind of like a palate cleanser, it was very good. : Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles). This time I ordered the seafood version, it was excellent. I especially appreciate how the vegetables had a nice snap to it (not mushy). I came here for a family dinner on a Friday night. There was tons of traffic for my boyfriend that was coming from PA, but the restaurant was accommodating in altering our reservation. There was a good flow, throughout the night and a small patio that was full to enjoy the summertime weather. We received menus right as we were seated, but was a little slow to get our meal started. We waited a bit to get our wine uncorked, and the waiter never read us the specials. My uncle had to go outside to take a picture of the sidewalk chalkboard to read it back to us. When our waiter arrived, we impulsively ordered appetizers: fried calamari and the massaman roti. The appetizers arrived fairly quickly. The calamari was served with fish sauce instead of the common thai sweet chili sauce as many other restaurants that I've been to. The fish sauce was light with a spicy kick at the end, which we enjoyed. The massaman curry was a little sweet for me and the meat was cut very finely; it was hard to scoop up onto the roti. The flavors of the curry were good though. i wish there were more roti to scoop up more of the delicious liquid, though we didn't want to be too full for our meals so didn't ask for more. Our entrees were generally great, and everyone was really enjoying the flavors. Except for my mother, who ordered the Southern Kua Kling Curry with 3-pepper-level heat and a CAUTION message because of how spicy it is. The woman likes a good challenge and loves spicy food. When it came out, it was actually the least spicy of ALL the dishes - even those at the 2-pepper-level heat. My uncle got the Pad Sator to be adventurous and try stink beans WITH a 3-pepper-level, which was the same kua kling curry as my mom. The beans were not stinky (just bitter) and the curry sauce was not spicy, just salty. I was among those who got 2-pepper-level heat for my dish: red curry with chicken. It was a large portion that was very flavorful. The heat was actually HOT but very bearable. There was a decent amount of chicken and an abundance of delicious bamboo shoots. My brother got the duck curry that had the same red sauce as me. The tamarind duck was a large portion of protein that was flavored delicately without a heavy sauce. My boyfriend and dad both got it, and they both loved it. Not tempted with a dessert menu, we got the bill and realized the meal for 7 was pretty reasonable. I noticed the window pass was filling a lot of takeout orders while we were eating... with good-sized portions with great flavors at reasonable prices, this may have to be my new Thai takeout spot. read more

Wow! I went here for lunch and I must say it not only didn't disappoint but delivered a small tiny feast for a more than affordable price! I had their bento box special which provided a small bowl or soup a spring roll and an entree for 750. There was no doubt a high quality at an amazingly low price for their food. My wife and I finally got to give Circles a try with some friends last week after anticipating its opening for weeks. Their arrival in Collingswood continues a bit of a trend in town; with its opening we now have two Thai places in addition to three Indian, two Mexican, three or four Chinese, two brunch-related, three or four pizza, two sushi, and about 13 (seriously) Italian restaurants. You rarely go wanting for variety, even within one type of cuisine, on Haddon Avenue. Even with this genre duplication, what's nice about Circles is that it isn't merely a repeat of what you'll find on Thai Basil's menu, but instead an interesting array of dishes that more closely reflects what you'll find over there. Owner Alex Boonphaya, born in Bangkok, regularly travels back to Thailand to explore the local cuisine and bring its flavors faithfully back to the United States. And lest you think he surely must still dumb down the spiciness for the American palate, know that dishes at Circles come in spice levels of "mild", "medium", "hot", and "thai hot." At the time of our visit there was even a menu item under "Caution! Try if you dare!" called "Southern Kua Kling Curry" that came with a warning of it being "one of Thailand's spiciest curries." This is the man who that regularly holds competitions for eaters involving successively spicy dishes, the final reward of which, if the meal is finished, is ultimately a free meal. Authenticity here is a premium, and I have no reason to believe otherwise. As for our own meal at Circles, we started our meal with appetizers of the crispy tofu with a sweet chili sauce and vegetable dumplings with ginger and spiced leaks and a soy vinaigrette. The crispy tofu was about what you might expect, and its sauce was very good. In fact both dishes sauces were tasty, with the vegetable dumplings a special standout. For the entrees we shared the peanutty noodles with seitan, the pumpkin curry which involved kabocha, one of my favorite vegetables, and the "Southern Island Massaman Curry" specialty, which has "braised chicken with charred pearl onions, fingerling potatoes, peanuts, baby carrots in a rich aromatic southern curry." The flavors on all of the dishes were very good, we were all pretty impressed. We always love sharing our meals with friends in the family style, and that worked out well for what we got. We had no room at all for dessert, but I think that was just fine. Overall, this is a solid new restaurant for Collingswood's dining scene, and I already can't wait to go back. A few useful things to know are that they're BYOB, so bring your wine or beer just like any other place in town, and that if you're driving, the parking garage just across from them inside the Lumberyard is only 50 cents per hour. Nice location for this new Thai right off Haddon in Collingswood, I had tried their philly location a few years back (very good) and was eager to try this after a friend let me know they opened here. I tried the Thai rolls as an app, then Thai peanut noodles (in vedge) and the Thai basil Pad Kaprow. The rolls were great,and had a distinctive home made taste, the Peanut noodles not as good - they seemed to sweet and the peanut flavor did not taste as fresh as I would have liked (I did order these sans meat). The Pad Kaprow was excellent and the highlight of the meal, very fresh, spicy and a great sauce. I will be back for sure. read more

Creepy derelict slouched in a corner staring at us when we came in. We were seated on the opposite side, so no problem. The food was good. Started off by waiting 20 minutes to get a server... not a good beginning when hungry ;) Had fried tofu, steamed dumplings and crab rangoon as apps. The rangoon was stellar! For the meal had pad thai duck. They got the spice right but the duck was overcooked and dry. My wife had the pad thai crab which honestly tasted a bit fishy (more than you would expect as if canned crab claw was used. Also the desert menu was very lacking in choices as well as imagination. So we passed. I wish I could write more but there was nothing terrible or exceptional about this place so will not likely return. For Thai and Thai fusion there are a lot of great choices so will look elsewhere. read more

Pretty bad Thai food. We ordered the coconut soup, Woonsen salad, Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mow. The Pad Kee Mow was ordered mild but was SO spicy. The Pad Thai noodles had a microwaved taste and texture. The Woonsen salad consisted of wilted lettuce, soggy tomatoes, some unrecognizable seafood and glass noodles-we threw most of it out. All the dishes had a strange slimy texture and were either over or under seasoned. I've order from Circles in northern liberties in the past and thought it was good. This one is way off. I ordered from here back in May and was glad to find that Thai spicy is wooooh spicy hot! I got the cheesesteak spring roll which was ok, but the Kua Kling curry had good kick to it and wasn't overpowering. The menu selection has a good mix of items and if there is another Thai Tap Out I may have to check that out to see how much heat I can handle lol. The price point isn't too bad for the main meal but the cheesesteak spring roll I didn't think was worth $7 since it wasn't hot when I got it, but a good new Asian food option is always welcome. My family ate at Circles yesterday and really enjoyed the meal. I'm hoping that people try this place because it's hidden away in the Lumberyard Complex, just off Haddon Ave and is the 4th or 5th restaurant which has tried to make a go of it here. With the exception of Kitchen Consigliere, all the other places met with failure and I'm hoping they're around for a while, as Collingwood's restaurant scene could use a good Thai place. We ordered Green papaya salad, the Southern Islam Massaman Curry and the cashew/Mushroom Stir Fry. We asked for medium spice and it was a good level of heat. I like the sweeter, rich curry but my wife's choice of the stir fry was really good too. Neither of us had any major negatives about the place and we definitely will go back here. i believe that they deliver and there is inexpensive parking in the complex. It's BYOB as well. My wife got the Sticky rice dessert to take home and didn't share with me, so I'm guessing it was pretty good too! read more

We have ordered take out from here 3 times and it is very good. The staff was friendly and food was delivered hot and under an hour. I would recommend the papaya salad, red curry, basil garlic fried rice, Thai spring roll, and corn fritters (different twist than the norm) I am giving 4 stars since the flavors overall are just below Little Thai Kitchen in Cherry Hill which is awesome, but no delivery. We love to stop by at the New Thai foods restaurant after visiting Aquarium in Camden. We ordered Pad Sa-tor with Chicken medium spicy, Chicken Salad or Larb Gai and Garlic Basil Fried-rice with chicken, no spicy because my baby boy can have some of my dish. Chef Tai and Chef Pi made such the authentic delicious thai dishes. The server is very friendly and helpful to young kids. They are a family owner place. My boy enjoy having authentic thai Chicken Stay with peanut sauce at this place as well. We highly recommend this place. read more

Truly a hidden gem. This was our first time here, and everything was amazing. Not a single complaint. To start off we got Thai rolls and pan fried crab & pork potstickers, both perfectly crisp on the outside and layered with flavors on the inside, both accompanied by awesome dipping sauces. For entrees we chose the Pad See Ew (level 2 spice) and the Braised Pork Ramen (level 1 spice). Again layers of flavor and just enough heat. They give you a side of crushed peppers so you can ramp up the heat to your liking. It was obvious that everything was homemade from the crushed red pepper flakes to the handmade potstickers. Good to have in Collingswood, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here...we have eaten here twice and have been underwhelmed both times. First visit, I ordered the Papaya Salad (tasty) and the Pad Thai Duck (Pad Thai was good, but I wish I had just gotten tofu or chicken. Duck was just placed on top of the Pad Thai, not mixed in, and there was very little duck for the additional price!). Service left much to be desired. There was one server for the whole restaurant, and we always had to ask the host when we needed something (water!). We asked to look at the dessert menu, but the waiter didn't understand English, so he brought us the check instead. Second visit (take-out), I ordered the Vegan Salad, which states "Mixed Greens" on the menu, but it was only iceberg lettuce, nothing mixed about it. $7 is way too much to pay for an iceberg lettuce salad and no tofu like most Thai restaurants. Summer Rolls were just OK. The sauce states "sweet chili-peanut sauce" but was just hoisin sauce with some ground peanuts on top. I had Pad Kee Mow with chicken for my entree, and it was tasty but should have had half as much onion and twice as much broccoli and carrots. Wow! I've been waiting for a Thai place that knows how to make the basic pad Thai w pork and finally I've found one. Perfectly seasoned with all the right toppings and cooked to perfection. The serving was huge- definitely enough for leftovers for another meal but it was too good I ate it all! I also ordered the tofu corn fritters which were very unique and delicious....they aren't what I would consider corn fritters though- more like fried cheese w a little bit of corn but once I started to not care that they weren't your traditional fritter I really enjoyed them! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the price. I paid $24 for these two items....w tip $29.... I am a very 'thrifty' (i.e. Cheap) chic so I was a little shook when I got the bill. My husband and I ate at Circles last night. My order was wrong. I asked for snow peas and carrots in a curry sauce with chicken. They brought me frozen peas and carrots with chicken. When I verbalized that I did not have snow peas as ordered, they were argumentative. I did not eat my food. I asked the server to take the order off our bill, and he was argumentative. He demanded that I show him what was on the menu I was referring to. He took my information to the chef. The server then explained that they had ran out of snow peas. He did take the order off our bill. However, he made no effort to even ask if I wanted something else to eat. As a matter of fact, he removed my plate before even asking if I was done. (I had been eating some of my husband's food, as I was hungry). No apologies. It is typical for the server to come over, and inquire if everything is OK once the meal has been served. The server did not do this. I posted my concerns on the Circles website. Nobody got back to me. I called to inquire if there was an office manager I could speak to. there apparently is not. I was told to call the restaurant. I did so, and they stated there was not an office manager. I believe that this restaurant does have good food sauces. However, if they run out of vegetables they substitute with frozen food in bags without informing the patrons. When you are not a happy customer, they apparently make no effort to regain your interest. This was our wedding anniversary dinner. I will never go back there. Bad service, frozen vegetables, and discourteous conduct. The restaurant industry is way too competitive to tolerate such abuse. Never again. read more
