Cool concept, but I'll probably never be back. It was my boyfriends birthday, ordered pretzel and loaded curly fries, DIDNT COME FOR AN HOUR AND 45 Minutes. One of the workers TOLD ME TO GO ADK THE KITCHEN. (I don't work here ma'am) my bf had to ask the kitchen himself, they said they "never got our order". So I go up to the counter to ask if I can get that discounted since I didn't get the fries loaded. Literally turned around for 5 seconds AND SOMEONE TAKES AND THROWS OUT MY BEER!!! AND THE BEER IS NOT CHEAP! SOME GAMES ARE BROKEN AND THE TAPS WOULD GLITCH OUT AND NOT LET ME POUR ANY BEER. Cool place but need some Better management and clean their beer lines. Smh. read more

The waitresses/waiters aren't allowed to receive tips off of your card. Those tips go straight to the business owner. Won't eat here again considering I always tip off my card and would rather that money go to the people who are serving me making $2 an hour. Hope this changes. read more

This might be one of my most favorite places in Norfolk, Virginia. I wish I didn't live on the other side of the water because I would probably frequent circuit social at least a few times a week. I like how spread out everything is inside and the variety of games to play and things to do. The beer wall is nice because you can try different kind of beer is in the wines. It seems like every time I come to circuit social there's different beers available, which is nice so you don't get tired of drinking the same thing over and over. one thing I wish they had more of was food options. I know it's kind of bar food which makes sense for the type of place that it is but just if there was a little bit more variety on the menu than pizza and burgers pretty much. Also, I like that you get a reloadable card, so you can just keep your card when you leave and then add to it when you come back in another time. I haven't attended any of the events, but I think I will soon because some of them sound really cool. read more

Came here with some classmates. I had never been here before and didn't even know this place existed since I live in VA Beach. I love the concept of being able to get a taste, half a glass or full glass of beer and wine. However, by using a point card, it's easy to not have any idea how much money you are spending. They have a fun bowling game that has happy hour specials. I ordered some tacos. It was good as you'd expect in bar type food. I am sure this place can get packed so I enjoyed going there when it was pretty empty during the week. read more

This venue exceeded my expectations. I went on a Friday night. The crowd was mid-20s to mid-30s (venue is 21 and up) and the atmosphere was laid back. There is a great selection of games - many that I remembered from childhood. It was the perfect date night spot with lots of competitive fun. The food is good and came quickly. We ordered wings and fries, so it's hard to mess that up anyway. There is some work that can be done around helping newbies understand the procedures for registration, getting drinks and ordering food. Those things can be ironed out over time. One caution: be careful with those drinks. They pour fast and add up quickly! read more

Decided to stop in here before going to dinner reservations later in town. Once, we entered we got greeted by the young lady working in the front. Since we haven't been here before but our friends have they explained to us what to expect. They loaded their cards and open a tab for drinks. This place is pretty huge and it is well kept. They have a nice selection of beers and ciders and have about three different wines. The drinks are priced by the ounce and the prices aren't bad at all. The wine is more expensive than the beers and ciders about 99 cents a oz. Which is to be expected because it's wine. I tried the Ace pineapple cider 34 cents a oz and I must say I really enjoyed it. They have such a huge selection of games. They had bowling in the back area. They even had a game called Frogger I use to play when I was little so I was excited to play it. This place is so unique and offers something for everyone of all ages. I look forward to coming again and staying longer. The concept is great, very nostalgic, but to experience it, it's a cluster and very frustrating. When you come in there is a membership that they ask you to sign up and you get a card for food/drinks/games. Great, self service. Being new to the experience I asked the front desk girls what the recommended amount to put on the card would be. She said $25, but here's the catch: they have two categories one for food and one for games. She recommended $10 for food/drinks and $15 for games. Beer is on average $6, typical, but when I went to order food I had $3. By that time I'm tired of playing for games for an hour, well your "game money" is not transferAble to your food account. So I had to add even more money onto the card to pay for my food and we're trapped playing 2 more hours of games. Most games are (.25-$1). Also when your "done" there is no refund on your money that wasn't used. So my friends and I finished our game money and decided we would not be back. Also the team members never really seemed to have a clue what was going on either. Oh one last thing, if you go around opening time, make sure the have the rubber stoppers off the taps, my friends and I had beer explode on us first thing (also no one offered to compensate for the beer that spilled on us, we had to pay for that too) read more

I absolutely love circuit social, there's so many things to do and for amazing prices! A man named Cameron was so helpful. My mom and I were walking around Norfolk and having fun and I was carrying my skateboard. He held it behind the counter while I played many of there arcade games. Cameron noticed that there were some things wrong with my skateboard and fixed it up. Nobody in my family had ever ridden a skateboard before so nobody even knew what I was doing! He was so helpful and the things he did to my skateboard helped so much that I was able to ride it almost perfectly that night. Thank you so much! read more

Very cute & fun hang out spot . I went with a group of friends and had a blasts. The beer/wine wall was so awesome and the wine I selected tasted awesome. The games were super cheap. I put 15.00 on my game card and my husband and I played all night. I would definitely recommend this location for a night of fun. I loved the atmosphere and it's a little cheaper than Dave and Busters! Please check it out when you have time. If your group wants a super fun experience with amazing food I recommend you try Pixel, it's practically the same! It's just a few blocks away and the customer experience is phenomenal compared to circuit. So circuit social itself is okay, food is fine, good beer selection, a tad bit pricy for what you get. But the service, specifically whoever the girl was that was working Friday, July 27th @ around 3ish-4ish was so incredibly rude. It's the first time we were there and so we had no idea how they worked, the lady was like "you get a card and you use it." I thought she was joking, so I was like okay so whats next. This girl was like "now you have to pay." She decided how much money to put in my account and when I gave her my email finalize the purchase she tried to tell me that the email I gave her wasn't my email..... such horrible service it's actually kind of funny. This may be a biased review as I am a growing lover of all the new social clubs popping up around Hampton Roads. I spent a good chunk of my summer at Circuit Social in a duckpin bowling league. Every week my friends and I competed against two other teams after work and had a great time. I don't like this space when it's super packed so hanging out on a weeknight is definitely the way to go. I never expected much from the food and I'm not much of a beer drinker. I also didn't expect much from the staff. One or two were friendly but the rest seemed like they were just looking for ways to pass the time and didn't want to bother with customers though they were helpful when needed. Honestly, I'm just appreciative of any space that offers more options than just eating and drinking. In my opinion Circuit Social will serve you best if you join one of their leagues or tournaments. You don't have to deal with the two-card system then because you just pay one price for your league. I had the most fun at Circuit when I was participating in a league. read more

Went on a Saturday night with some friends, so I expected crowds and some kinks that still needed to be worked out since this place is fairly new, and wow, there is definitely a lot of room for improvement here. The concept is pretty cool, but the execution is slow and glitchy. Before you can even enter Circuit Social, you have to get a power card and decide if you'd like to run a tab or do a pre-paid card to bypass checking out at the end of the night. I chose to pre-pay since it took 20 minutes to even get the card in the first place. This wouldn't have been so bad if the check-in desk wasn't so close to the entrance and gave way for long lines. And there were only two people working the check-in on a busy Saturday night. The old-school games are obviously the draw here. I enjoyed reliving my childhood playing TMNT, Simpsons, etc., also enjoyed the cupholders attached to the games to encourage beer breaks in-between gameplay. It's unfortunate that a lot of the games were already out-of-order, though. Speaking of glitches, the pour-your-own beer/wine station is an absolute nightmare. It was manned by an employee who really didn't want to be there, and he was one octave short of screaming at people confused with or having issues with getting their drinks. The pour station was so glitchy! Whatever system it was using kept rebooting and flashing error messages. At one point during the night, I hit some limit of pours that required an employee override. This limit was never explained to me, and since I was sharing my card with my boyfriend, we hit the limit pretty quickly. While I stood in front of the pour station (probably looking confused and irritated at yet another glitch tbh), the pour station employee snatched my card and took it to some back room with such an attitude. I had no idea what was happening until one of my friends who had been previously explained the limit to me. The employee came out five minutes later, stuck my card back in the station, and left before I could even say anything. I think I'll stay away for awhile. I'd like to say I won't be back, but I've still got money on my pre-paid card. Good business model. Entice customers to return not with great service and functional equipment, but with the money they put up front to avoid long lines. read more

I was a little weary reading some of the reviews but decided to give it a try. I went on a Saturday afternoon, they weren't crowded at all. Immediately upon coming in, the girl at the front was very helpful and friendly in explaining how the cards worked. They have a nice selection of games and I like that everything is loaded on the card so it's more organized. The drink wall is pretty cool, too. I like that I pay for how many ounces I get. I typically like to try a few things rather than get a big glass anyways. We loaded ten dollars on our card for games and we still have a few bucks left. Great in theory, but not so great in practice. I went here for the first time tonight with friends and decided to go with the open tab option. When trying to fill my beer, the tab started to increase as though beer was filling into the cup. However, not a thing was going into the cup. I reached out to a staff member immediately to alert them of the issue. The response I received was "yeah, our system is messed up" in a condescending voice. There was no hint of care in her voice. No sign that improvement would be made. The only thing I got was yeah we know and we don't care. I will never come back here again. I feel, honestly, that I have been ripped off. I will not be coming back here again. From this point forward, I will go to pixel. read more

I am not a gamer new or old school. I was skeptical about trying this venue thinking it would be overrun with parent gamers ignoring their kids who would be running amuck. I know, judgmental assumption. I also couldn't imagine the draft set-up would be any good. I WAS WRONG! The games were great with duck pin bowling and very few kids. It's s bar! The beer is fine and I found a few I like. The food needs a review. The staff was great and so glad to see them cleaning the machines and bathrooms were also clean. Here's how I would rate it higher...1. Add a non-alcoholic beer or two 2. Add antibacterial pumps throughout the place, especially near food and beer. 3. Add more variety to wing flavors. 3. Make sure ALL games have a drink cup. 5. MAKE THE FOOD FRESH. Is it even a real kitchen? Doesn't seem like it. If we have to leave to get good food, we are leaving. Going to go back in a few weeks. The entire payment system they have here is ridiculously confusing. You will spend half your time here waiting in line to get a game card and then the remainder of your time waiting in line to check out. This place is really fun. They have arcade games, food, and pour-your-own beer. We mostly wanted to write this review for the excellent service we received from Will. He noticed that we were struggling in choosing our drinks, and he came over and gave us suggestions and showed us how to use our card to pour our beers. He was super friendly and definitely made our experience here even better. The only reason this review is not five stars is because there is always at least one or two basketball hoops that aren't working, and they are the most popular of all the games. read more

Our purse was stolen and the owner checked the cameras immediately, sent us a picture of the guy, and then actually tracked him down and got our stuff back. This place is cool. Games are cheap. The beer is expensive and can add up. If you show up here with no knowledge of how the place works, don't ask Jennifer. She's a total joke when it comes to any customer service. This is how it works. You buy a card and it's split down the middle, one side for drinks, the other for games. I asked a few questions to specify how it worked and the hostess told me to "read the directions" rather than help in any sort of fashion. It was a great location to start but I would give a 3.5 scale, was disappointing that the beer I was trying to pour was out, paying by ounces doesn't make sense to me specially if your beer you want to get is .69 for an ounces (just an example pricing) basically you would be paying 12-14$ for a glass of beer! SMH rather go to a bar and pay 5-7 for 1 bottle or beer. Over all the place wasn't to bad, just wish they had more selections of games and two of the same arcade games. This arcade is a nice addition to downtown Norfolk. I visited with a group of friends and we enjoyed being able to enjoy food, drinks, and classic arcade games in one place. The games ranged anywhere from $.25-$1.00. The self pour taps is a cool feature, and they do have employees available near the taps to assist with perfecting your pour to avoid foam. I went on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't very crowded, and children were allowed in as well. I do believe you must be 21+ to enter after 9pm. This place is definitely catered more for adults who are looking for a casual place to hang out. read more
