    Vongole with clams

I have reviewed this before & love it. However NEW YEARS EVE was an exception. The food was bland, lacking in seasoning, barely warm.the baked clams were clearly lacking in taste..as was the"sautéed"calamari which was most definitely boiled & put in a soup dish AWFUL..no seasoning at all.I ordered a chopped salad with grilled salmon, root veggies & goat cheese.I got salad not chopped,a piece of crumbled goat cheese & barely cooked veggie.the salmon was dry & lukewarm..another had the spaghetti & clams TOTALLY LACKING IN SEASONING..service was fair-clearly the kitchen could not handle NYE.They would have done better with a menu which offered a set amount of dishes & that way they would have been able to handle the crowd. We like the food & will go back that's why we chose it..however I would be remiss if I didn't let them know that NYE WAS SO DISAPPOINTING!!!

I went to this restaurant for the first time and their pasta was delicious! I tried the Capellini Dello which comes with breaded eggplant, marsala, pomodoro and ricotta cheese. I ordered small size and the portion was large. I loved the taste, it was delicious and the pasta was nicely cooked as well. Interestingly, they also had sushi which I'm willing to try next time! I recommend this place for family dinner as well as large party dinner. The restaurant is little fancy but still casual. Their service was great too!

A neighborhood restaurant that I have once had dined often when my business was in Melville. It was a pleasure to return for the second time in a week. I was also excited to see my longtime friend and owner of Cirella's. The restaurant was updated a couple of years back and has an upscale contemporary flare. They now have covered outside dining along the busy Broad Hollow Road. As always, their service and staff are friendly, accommodating and always attentive to the table. Cirella's continues to be one of the most accommodating restaurants that I have experienced. Although all Cirella's menu items are consistently good. particularly good, I favor very much their Cirella Calamari as an appetizer which is tossed in marinara along with cherry peppers and for an entrée, I chose the sword fish special on this occasion which was delicious. Great to be back.

Food (4.5) Decor (4.3) Service (4.7) Been many years since lunch at this memorable establishment. I always found it odd that such a traditional and formal Italian restaurant offers sushi as an option. But both have always been superb. The assorted table breads were great as always. To begin with we split the Gorgonzola Apple Walnut Salad, which was delicious. I had the Chicken Parmigiana with spaghetti, which was very good and enough for two. I found the chicken a slight bit tough, and spaghettini a tad soggy and stuck together. Their hand shredded fresh parmigiana on top is a very nice touch adding to the overall satisfaction. My business guest had a flat bread which was the length of the table, and said it was great. The decor is formal, very clean and well appointed where jeans are acceptable but dressing up a bit feels more fitting. And I love their new bathroom signage, which carry's a true Long Island spirit. Glad I returned, will be back sooner this time!

Cirella's on Christmas Eve for dinner. It was packed but that did not deter from great service from Diane R who was extremely attentive even though she had our table a few others and a very large party. When you are seated immediately a bread basket is brought to the table with several types of Italian treats, water is poured and drink orders are taken, they have a full bar and wine list. We put appetizer orders in right away roasted artichoke hearts, a trio of calamari & and a spicy Cirella sushi roll, (yes this Italian restaurant is also known for having an extensive sushi menu). Our mains were lasagna which was a special and a dish comprised of 7 fishes, (Christmas Eve you have to have the 7 fishes). All were cooked properly and delicious. We also had a side of truffle fries which were a disappointment. Lastly we finished our meal with a "show stopping" dessert, a giant ice cream sundae which came in in a huge martini glass held at least 3 scoops of ice cream, brownies & cookies and I think whatever else they could find in the kitchen including the kitchen sink, lol. Cirella's has been in business for almost 40 years it's the service and quality that has allowed for this small local Italian restaurant to do what most restaurants today can't do, stay in business for decades.

Approximately 3 weeks ago we celebrated my grandsons 1st Birthday at Cirellas. It was a wonderful time! Perfect in every way! Cirellas staff was so helpful, professional and friendly. They assisted my daughter-in-law with settings up before the guests arrived and packing up. Always with a smile. I like the fact that they set a specific time that our party was the only one at the restaurant on this special day. The outdoor area was very guaint and private. We also had access to the large bar. The price for the buffet was very reasonable. The chaffing dishes were always replenished and the line moved smoothly. They food was absolutely delicious. I'm not a steak person but many quests raved about the grilled blackened marinated Asian sliced steak. My husband is asking me when we can return for an intimate dinner date. All the quests were very pleased and had many positive compliments about Cirella's and staff. Thank you again for making this special day a wonderful experience in every way and leaving us with precious memories! I highly recommend Cirella's for the ultimate party experience and look forward to returning for dinner on the patio.

Thanks Cirellas, updating my review from 3 years ago, good to see you've stayed consistent in delivering good Italian fare and good service. Thanks for staying on point.....you guys get it. Not to miss, the veal chop parm, more flavorful than a cutlet and can't say I've seen it done that way before.

This place is mediocre at best. I walked in with such high hopes but I was disappointed unfortunately. Very entertaining was the fact that everyone was dressed like prom. No matter their age. Could've been a scene outta Tony soprano's life. I know this is not THE city, this is Long Island but I would think that they would at least be ONE decent restaurant or two. This place was so mehhhh. Like the best thing about the meal was the bread because it was warm and fresh and buttery. Everything else was not good. The Brussels sprouts were soggy and the salad was so bland. The service was pretty good, we got everything we needed in a time they matter. The server and waitstaff of all treated us very nicely, so I have to mention that. The valet guy out front was really nice too. So thank you guys for that.

We always seem to strike it rich at Cirellas restaurant! Tonight we had amazing service from our waitress Susan. She was on top of her game delivering drinks and our dinner s all in perfect synch. We started out with a couple of bread baskets loaded with an array of Italian, garlic and pizza breads. EVOO was also brought with the bread. We also started with some wonderful drinks from the bar. For an appetizer, we started with a nice dish of fried calamari which was tasty and tender. This was served with 3 sides if sauce. Tomato, fra diavlo and marinara. The sauce were amazing and the fra Diablo bright the heat!! For dinner, we ordered 3 Veal chop Parmigiano which is always a true winner. This is a huge veal chop pounded out made Parmigiano style with a side of pasta. OMG, a must! My wife ordered the Capellini with Scallops. She enjoyed her dinner as well! Cirellas ALWAYS brings to us am alcohol dining experience!!! Make sure you get the Veal chop!! Thank you Susan and all the friendky staff who took great care of us!

Absolutely would be back here!…read more I was in the area for work and was craving sushi. This place popped up and I am so glad it did! I went for a quick stop after work and wanted something quick- (I chose to dine in). I can tell you the service was quick! The server was attentive and took my order. I was in and out within the hour. They have seating available inside as well as outside. It has a lot of seating and it looks pretty clean in inside. They also have happy hour specials. The food was great. I ordered: Appetizers: -Clear Soup: delicious! Possibly the best and most unique clear soup I have had yet. Not your typical flavor profile. This one tastes like it was made from scratch- the broth is unique- it has a sweet aftertaste to it. The soup also has spinach in it and mushroom. Very unique and tasty overall! -Calamari steak: I'll admit I was in the craziest mood for calamari- this was one of the reasons I stopped by here. I'm a big fan of Ika Maruyaki (bbq squid) and noticed this place did not have that but this instead- I saw good reviews on it so checked it out- I will say while the calamari was cooked perfectly, the flavors weren't clicking for me. It is greasy, and the seasoning on it has an abundant mustard flavor. It became more and more overwhelming as I dove into it more, and by the end (which it was an effort to make it to that point, I'll admit) I was itching to pat the seasoning off of the calamari to make it somewhat more pleasant to eat. Would not order this again. Sushi: -Spicy Mango Shrimp Roll: solid sushi roll- rice is soft, the ratios were perfect, and the mango sauce it was topped with was also pleasant for me! -Dinosaur Roll: my friend ordered this and I had a bite of it, very good!! Loved the overall ratio from the shrimp tempura to the eel to the eel sauce. Overall a solid experience. Very fresh food and quick service- for those who work in the nearby business park.

Mr. Kenn the owner looks like an actor from an old Japanese movie. The place looks like a throw back sushi restaurant somewhere in the side Street of Tokyo, not fancy by any means but the quality of the food and the freshness of the fish is the reason I give a five stars . Through the years in many towns, a lot of sushi places have opened up with neon lights, fancy tableware, and restaurant Depot quality food, if you want to try something authentic and delicious this is the place to go. I've even gone out of my way to stop here in person and order because they have a cute mart also with unique finds! I've been ordering from here for quite some time so I can tell you the culmination of my review is that this place is always consistent in quality!!! I have ordered everything and anything at this point so this review will be on everything I have tried even if not pictured. First of all, all of their onigiri, sashimi, and sushi is top tier. The flavors and textures are always on point. Appetizer: -Seaweed Salad: tasty seaweed salad (your typical seaweed salad! -Snow Crab Salad: so yummy- very fresh and it seems to be kani mixed with snow crab pieces which are such a delight whenever you get to them! -Kani Salad: honestly a pretty solid kani salad for it being a mart/deli! Restaurant quality!! Perfect ratio. -Shrimp Tempura: my constant go to everytime. perfectly crisp and comes paired with eel sauce and spicy mayo. -Takoyaki: not the best takoyaki I have had but not bad. Fresh always. -Miso Soup: my constant go to everytime. Delicious and unique: it has tofu, seaweed, and kani sticks in it. Entrees: -Kyoto Onigiri: solid! I will come back to this every now and then (it comes with a marinated egg and has kani in it with seaweed salad and onigiri spices.) -Shrimp Tempura Onigiri: also solid whenever I want something more filling with shrimp tempura on it. -Mix Poke!!: (salad base) MY GO TO. they can accommodate if you want a salad base vs rice base. Seafood is always fresh- the octopus, salmon and tuna are always fresh and they honestly do a great job packing it. The incorporated additions of tamago, tobillo, avocado, cucumber, etc really compliment the bowl and the poke sauce that comes paired with it seals the deal. -Sushi Pick 2: any roll is always prepared well- the rice is always perfectly soft and the rolls are prepared on demand. Overall my favorite poke spot to date. What a treasure! Will continue to be a loyal customer here!! I encourage everyone to check it out!

Spring rolls were delicious and made properly. Sushi sandwiches were outstanding. The spicy tuna rolls were bland and the spice lacked any reason to order again even with the spicy mayo. The Caesar salad, however, was a different story. For $34, I expected a dressing with some depth and flavor. Instead, it tasted overwhelmingly like olive oil. The anchovies I specifically requested were the only thing giving the salad any character. Without them, it would have felt like eating lettuce coated in oil. I understand they make their Caesar in an old-fashioned style, but a creamy Caesar would have had far more flavor and balance. When I mentioned my disappointment, I was simply told, "We make it old fashioned." The soup was great. The Caesar was a 2/10 and nowhere near worth the price with the up charge.
