I was fortunate enough to have a fabulous meal at this restaurant. While in New York my good friends made a recommendation and reservation for Cirella's. When we were seated we were greeted by our server and our drink order was taken. I ordered a Vodka Tonic and it was a very generous size and delicious. The waiter also brought a basket of delicious breads with our drinks. For dinner I ordered a swordfish special that they had that evening. It was a very thick piece of fish. It was so delicious I wanted to lick my plate! The sauce, the tomatoes, the broccoli....everything on my plate tasted incredible! My girlfriend ordered shrimp & scallops in a vodka sauce and she loved it as well. My husband had the linguini with clam sauce and our other friend had shrimp parmigiana. Everyone loved their meals The cocktails, the food and the service were all on point. Our waiter was very attentive. We never felt rushed and we actually closed the restaurant. We were the last to leave because we were so busy enjoying our drinks and each other's company . The staff all went about their business. Some confusion making reservation. Came as a party of six. Started with a Caesar salad and fried calamari. I had the delicious zuppa di pesce. Others had rigatoni ala vodka, bucatini cozzi, eggplant parm, rigatoni fagioli and a regular pizza. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Waitress was knowledgeable and attentive. Love Love Love! We eat here at least once a week! It's an Italian restaurant, but their sushi is AMAZING too!!! The cacio de pepe is delicious! The linguini white clam sauce is my absolute favorite! My husband loves the stuffed pork chop (special menu). This has been our staple Italian restaurant for decades, we are treated like family and we love the Cirella's sooo much! Been travelling to Melville for three years and never knew until someone (hereafter referred to as my culinary advisor) at my hotel recommended cirellas and the bar in particular as a goto for lone travelers. Sushi and Italian? Today I tried sushi and am very happy. Going back tomorrow for some calamari and cherry peppers! The restaurant was nice and had a nice ambiance. The service was good, waitress was nice. For an Italian restaurant this place definitely lacked flavor. For appetizer we ordered calamari- was overcooked and extremely crunchy with no flavor, so crunchy felt like we were eating chips. I ordered penne pasta and it lacked flavor. I had to put salt to add some flavor. Salt should never have to be added to penne after cooked. I honestly would not return. Theres more italian spots out there with great tasting food. read more

My youngest sister wanted to celebrate her 13th birthday and this is where we landed. She had an amazing time. Our waitress was so sweet, she made the little ones feel so happy and comfortable. We basically ordered whatever we wanted, even though it wasn't on the menu they had zero problem accommodating our requests. Although the name suggests your typical Long Island Italian standby, this place is anything but that. This place serves really good Italian food but also really good sushi! I do not think I have seen such a place anywhere. And not just sushi appetizers, but full blown special rolls and poke. And the sushi is fresh and delicious, and the pasta is really good too! We started with the Cirella tartare, shumai and shrimp scampi flatbread. Tartare and scampi flatbread was so good! Shumai could have used a little seasoning. My wife ordered sushi/sashimi combo and I ordered the Zappa di pesce but with fra diavolo sauce (that is not the standard but they let you customize). You can order small or large portion sizes for pasta and I would recommend small for most people because the large is really large. I was very hungry so I forgot to take pics of all food. Last night my partner and I went to here to check it out because his friend recommended this place. Our waitress was very rude and had an attitude the whole time. We didn't even want to be here anymore. I got salmon and when it came out there was a bad smell and taste to it. Visiting family this past week we had an opportunity to enjoy the food prepared by this family restaurant. Food was delivered hot-on time-generous portions perfectly seasoned and the home cook taste. We ordered a great Cesar salad crisp-with a delicious dressing on side-in addition we had chicken Marsala with perfect morsels of tender chicken great tasty mushrooms and a succulent Marsala sauce-then we had an amazing eggplant parm dish that was tender-perfect seasoning and topped with mozzarella. Went here on Friday and had a great experience. Service was FAST... almost too fast. We felt a bit rushed at times. I ordered the meatball soup and marg pizza -- both were not the best. Pizza was at least huge so we have leftovers. Husband ordered the salmon but it came with broccoli that was way too garlicky. The key lime pie didn't taste like key lime pie (it should just be called limoncello pie). Overall... not bad seeing that we live so close and the fried zucchini was good to start with. Prob would skip the soups and the pizzas. Also, parking was horrible. I was scared someone was going to hit my car since it's soooo tight. But we managed okay. Overall 4 stars since the food could have been better! Will def. return however. read more

We tried this place because of the 4 star rating, sad to say it was a disappointing experience. The Burrata was dry and lacked a creamy inside. The Penne Alla Vodka tasted like pasta covered with a can of Campbell's Tomato soup. I ordered the Short Ribs with toasted gnocchi but unfortunately they were out of gnocchi so it was served up with roasted potatoes instead. The Short Ribs were more fat than meat. The Kale Salad topped with grilled Salmon was a good choice and ended up being the winner of the night. Sad to say overpriced and subpar Italian. read more

Cirella's is an excellent classic NY Italian restaurant in Melville Long Island. My wife and I were in NY for a family event. We had dinner here with old friends who had suggested this restaurant. They have several rooms including a bar area in the back of the restaurant. The bar does have happy hour specials. The drinks are well made. The menu is classic Italian with a large choice of seafood. In addition there are nightly specials. My wife had a special swordfish entree which was delicious. I had linguine with white clam sauce. I frequently order this dish, and Cirella's was one of the best I've had. My friends had shrimp parmesan and a seafood pasta dish with vodka sauce. The entrees are generous. The menu includes items such as ravioli, lasagna, parmigiana dishes, veal scaloppini, eggplant rollatini, fried calamari, steak, beef short ribs, and numerous Italian seafood dishes. Unlike any Italian restaurant I have been to, they do offer sushi dishes. There is a parking lot with a valet. I would suggest making reservations, especially on the weekends. read more

Me and my dad came here for an early dinner on a week day. The restaurant was completely empty besides a few dining at the bar. Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. The service was perfect, we weren't rushed, and we were very impressed. For the food: we started with the burrata and seafood salad. Bother we're fresh, delicious, and a beautiful presentation. Entrees: my dad had the pollo contadina, which he enjoyed very much. I had the pasta primavera but substituted with zucchini noodles. This dish was AMAZING!! Came here on a weeknight and was surprised it was packed by the time we left. It's got a nice wine bar type vibe but has very random yet extensive menu-there's def an option for everyone! I started with a cosmo and my bf got a peroni. We split the burrata and fried mozzarella and I got the spicy shrimp roll. The burrata and fried mozz were very good-the sauce with the mozz was excellent and it was not greasy at all. The roll was also good but not spicy at all unless you add the wasabi which is standard with any roll. For entrees my bf got the special burger medium rare-it appeared to be cooked correctly as it was pink inside, however, it tasted dry and burnt. He also got a side of the burnt broccoli which he said was salty but delicious. I got a glass of moscato which came as a mini wine bottle so you get more wine than a typical restaurant-huge perk! For entree I got the cappellini pescatore-which was shrimp and scallops alla vodka...quite tasty and a HUGE portion. I took most of it home since we had a bunch of apps but it def wasn't lacking in flavor. For dessert I got the cinnamon gelato-the cinnamon taste was overwhelming in a good way! Hands down the best I've ever had! Service was okay. The parking lot was horrible tho-since no one was there when we arrived we didn't notice but trying to back out of our spot in a mid size SUV was not easy when the lot was full-glad we didn't bring the pickup truck instead! read more

The service here was excellent! Our waitress was incredibly helpful and accommodating. She made some great recommendations and had great knowledge of the menu. We shared a bottle of Cabernet that was recommended by our waitress. My girlfriend and I both enjoyed it. For starters, we shared the burrata and the octopus. The octopus was charred nicely but the inside was too chewy for my liking. For our main course, we shared costoletta di vitello with zucchini strips in tomato sauce substituted as the side. The dish featured thin and fried veal on the bone. The breading was well seasoned, and the veal was delicious. I'd definitely recommend this dish. read more

I am from the Los Angeles area of California and was out in the area working on an extremely hard project for 2 weeks. With not more than 3 hours of sleep each night for the 5 days prior, the project wrapped up on October 6th with the most successful outcome ever, and I needed a place to celebrate Thursday night close to the Hilton before flying back to LA the next morning early from MacArthur. I hit it Big finding Cirella's. The place was packed, upbeat, had music, and was rocking. I have never seen such a great looking clientele in their late 30's to 50's in a restaurant at one time. Almost every women there was very attractive. I have never seen this, even in LA. I was on my own, pulled up to the bar, hungry, exhausted, lonely, happy, and they made me feel like a Rock Star with their service and great food. I would give the food a 4, but the service and atmosphere was so extraordinary that I can't give them less than a 5. They made my trip. Whoever runs this restaurant knows what they are doing. Rarely have I found a restaurant that knows how to treat their customers--this place does. They can give a class for all other restaurant owners on how to treat customers. At no time and at no place in California have I encountered a restaurant that made me feel as welcome as Cirella's and I was there for the first time ever. Instantaneously, they made me feel like a regular. I ordered a salad with Salmon, sides, and it was very good. I wish they had a branch in my area--I would be a regular there. I would go back to Cirella's without even a second thought when I am on Long Island again. Just one negative note on the Sushi: I made friends with this couple at the bar who lamented a lot about moving further away from Cirella's, and were stuffed and had some extra Sushi they said was good, and they offered me a taste. I ate the Ahi and it was the worst Sushi I have ever had. That was not Sushi, (maybe it's LI Sushi) but I would not go anywhere near it again. The couple then offered more and moved the rest of their Sushi platter in my direction and I had to make some excuses for not taking another piece. Bless them if they were able to tolerate that Sushi. They have never been to California--I gave them my card. read more

1st time here and it was OUTSTANDING. Beautiful restaurant with an Italian menu and Japanese menu. We were sat in a beautiful, low lit, table clothed tables. Truly romantice for lunch. 12:30 in the afternoon and this restaurant was busy! Ordered, of course, pino grigio and it was fresh and cold. Also ordered clams organata and their fried calamari noth were very nice. We shared a margarita pizza .. one small note their menu said flatbread and this was pizza with more cheese than I like and tomatoes on top .. basil was missing. Nonetheless, I was enjoying the meal and was watching JAPANESE orders go by and they all looked delicious. Finally and, of course, ordered decaf capuchin with Armareto along with creme burlee. Capuchin was warm to hot and their creme burlee was ok .. Loved the family neighborhood feel at Cirella's. Packed on a September weekday, I could tell this was a great spot when looking for a nice environment as a Southern out-of-towner. It's an Italian place, so I'm not going to mess around. Starting off with a Caesar salad was a good choice, and combined with the excellent warm bread, I almost could have stopped there. But why go 50%? Of course lasagna was my choice for the main course, and it was huge and wonderful. Meals like this require multiple "regroups" where one weighs the pros and cons of finishing it all in one sitting or taking some home for later. Tonight was a finishing night no matter what!
