Came here a few Sundays ago for brunch with another family. Overall had a good time, with tasty food & the waiter did a good job of keeping the champagne flowing! They had a decent selection of the standard Mexican brunch items & they were all good. As usual, I never miss the bacon tray but theirs was a bit overcooked & very greasy. I've been here quite a few times and last night i got the grilled fish tacos and they were delicious. The pickled onions and baja sauce really went well with the fish which was cooked perfectly. I also like their California tacos and chicken flautas. Margaritas are also good here too. read more

Maybe it's just because this place is really convenient, but I like it. I've always only eaten in the bar, so I can't really comment on the restaurant atmosphere. The bar is great to watch sports while having some yummy appetizers and good drinks. It's a cozy atmosphere -one can liken it to a real life Cheers. Love the waitresses and bartenders - super talented, always sweet. The food isn't really unique or something that is overly exciting, but it's always good - and really what more can you ask for? Brought 7 coworkers here for taco Tuesday. We each ordered 2-3 tacos. It took 45 minutes before they came out, at which point 5 of the orders were incorrect. About half an hour later those 5 came out, and three were wrong. Another 20 and we all finally had lunch. Complaints to the manager and he didn't apologize to the whole table, only to the woman who knew him. She said she won't come back....his response "oh yes you will". Terrible experience 2.5 hour Tuesday lunch. God awful. read more

I really try to like this place,but they just make it hard! Super nice atmosphere and the staff is friendly. However the service is always very slow. It takes so long to get drinks and for the food to come out. The food is super overpriced and is not good at all. We came with a group of 8 for a birthday, and the food came out cold. We were rushing to get back to work so we didn't say anything. The happy hour is good for drinks, but I won't be back to pay the price of the awful food! read more

They have excelled in every area since our last visit - everything was more flavorful, the service was improved, the menu and the drinks were all 1st class! Can't wait to try some of the other items on the menu. Spoke with Eric and he explained they have gotten back to basics, and changed the menu from the ground up!!! This time? Had the chicken taco and chicken enchilada combo - awesome!!! Rice and fresh veggies - excellent. Love the fact you can substitute fresh veggies for the refried beans! Habernero salsa - top notch!!! we have been going to the Cisco's in Thousand Oaks for a long time the food is basically average but there are not a lot of choices for great Mexican food in Thousand Oaks however this week took the family for dinner and on the way home the stomach started to rumble and barely made it into the house and was really sick that night and the next day was very uncomfortable. Called the manager "Felix" simply to alert him that my order made me sick so that he could look into the food handling and the items that I ordered. He did not want to hear anything I had to say spent the next 10 minutes defending how great the food preparation and storage and food handling is and basically blew me off. (Check the food violations listed) This is certainly no way to treat a customer of many years and quite frankly have checked this off my list of places to eat. read more

Went to Cisco's for the first time last night. Just went in for a nibble. No problem getting a table at the bar area. They had glass/Lexi-glass patricians , clean table, waitresses were wearing face masks the proper way. Covering their nose and mouth the whole time. We had a waitress come over pretty fast to take a drink order. Then ordered guacamole. They made it in the kitchen instead at table side. It was okay, I requested NO onions but they brought it with pinions. They took it back and made us another guacamole. I was surprised that they had a taco Tuesday special. My boyfriend ordered fish tacos. They came out quickly. A little underdone, so I did not taste it. It looked like sushi instead of a fish taco. The fish is not fried in batter. It is fish grilled which is suppose to be healthier but this fish looked raw. I ordered a Bloody Mary. It needed something! Some spice to it. Had to request some Tabasco. Once that was in, it was way better. Maybe it was the time we were. They were trying to get ready to close down for the night. I will give them another try and hope I have. Cisco's is a good Mexican restaurant. The food is of good quality...probably not the best you'll ever taste, but with the closure of Lupe's a few years ago, this is the best I could find. Prices are a bit on the high side, though they do offer a 50% off twilight dinner special (before 5:30pm Sunday -Thursday) on a limited menu). The reason for the 3-star rating is the lack of attention by the waiters. I have fined here multiple times when I was practically ignored. I have had to flag down bussers to get a refill on my drink or a refill on salsa. Everyone is very nice and polite, but trying to get people to routinely check on your table may be a challenge. Pretty good food, with kind people, and an inattentive wait staff. To further my point, I created a Yelp account and did this review 5 minutes after I was done eating and still have yet to see my waiter. read more

Came here for brunch for a friends graduation get together thing with his family and friends. It was all you can eat brunch. American breakfast foods and mexican lunch. The food in general was pretty eh? But good thing was was that there was all you can drink mimosas. So the taste of food wasn't really a problem after a while. Food is set up buffet style, the food itself wasnt too bad, it was just in these style restaurants sometimes the food is out for a while because they dont change the platters until more than half is gone or something like that. I think there were free all you can drink bloody marys too, if your into that kind of drink. Best part about this place is straight up the grill. Fresh food ranging from belgian waffles with fruits, omelettes with avacado, to steak and chicken fajitas. The service was ok. There are a few people who look happy to help you or take plates, but there was also another guy who just kept slamming us with dirty looks and scolded us for getting food from the wrong buffet section. My bad dude we wouldnt have to do that if you werent an hour late with the food. The drinks are ok... The food is disgusting. This place used to have decent Mexican food. I went there with my husband and ordered a Mexican pizza. They brought out a fried tort..(only one...) drenched in red sauce.. Literally drenched.. No meat, no beans only a fried tortilla and charged a horrendous abound for it. I felt totally MSGd when we got home, and am "paying" for it the day after. I hope they get wise and improve their food... We won't be back. read more

I politely asked a waitress to change the channel to a soccer match and she refused to ask the manager! This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. Though part of a chain, it doesn't feel (or taste) like mass produced food. The enchiladas are super cheesy...which is how I like them. Definitely not SoCal healthy "tex-fresh", which is what makes it so good! The staff is always friendly. Great happy hour beer specials, too. Carryout and GrunHub orders can be disorganized and incorrect, though. So always double check takeout orders. The table side guac was delicious. But best part is the gooey cheese! read more

This may be the worst Mexican food I've ever had. I don't want to sound mean, but I don't k ow how to describe just how awful this food was. The beef had a dish soap flavor to it and the chips tatsed like they were fried in really old oil. We didn't finish anything we ordered. I don't like to make a commotion or a situation, so we paid the bill and left. I don't recall the last time we left 75% of our food on the table. It was pretty white-trashy and a few idiots yelling and screaming too loudly from the bar. There is plenty of parking, on a positive note, but that's the only good thing I can say. Sorry. We will never return or tell anyone to go there. This is southern California for God's sake, there is great Mexican food.....but certainly not here. How this place is still open is beyond me. The service if you can call it that is dreadful. Is it really that hard to force a smile to your costumers when walking in or walking out for that matter. The wait staff is no better it took almost 10 minutes to have a waiter look our way let alone get us some chips, when we told the chip server guy we were ready to order drinks he said he'd call the waiter because he didn't take orders, fine. Waited another 5 minutes, FINALLY got the waiter to stop by our table and take our drink order, only to have our margaritas (about 10 minutes later) taste like Pina coladas! they obviously didn't bother to rinse out the blender where they made our drinks. I came here for Happy Hour at 5:15 on a Monday to secure a table for a group of 4. The HH area was completely full and although the patio had seating, there were people smoking there so I gave up on HH. Turns out they have an "early dinner" menu where everything is half off. Perfect! Our waiter was excellent, we had two ladies arrive a few minutes after the cut off for the early dinner menu and he still took their orders for half off. I ordered the fish tacos and they were delish! Lots of fish, it was a huge amount of food for one person (and at half off). Margarita was awesome. Also because we were in the restaurant it was much more conducive to having a conversation with my friends. We hung out for 3 hours and had a great time catching up. Recommended! read more

Had their new special of the week, the "Spicy Cilantro Shrimp" plate and coffee, and it was delicious. Had the opportunity to sit in a private enough area, away from others clearly having a work lunch, where I could do my work and reading. As it was lunch, coffee was made fresh for me. The food was out in 10 minutes. I ate and enjoyed my meal with enough time to return emails and catch up on reading my book of the week. read more

Don't waste your money! Years ago Cisco's was good! Tonight I ordered a Chimichanga shredded beef burrito. Mind you it was not cheap! I had it delivered. All I can say is i am so disappointed! It was disgusting! It had so little flavor and the meat had a weird sort of ginger taste! Yuk! I couldn't even eat it! Had a great lunch, while visiting Thousand Oaks, guacamole was served in large molcojete, ingredients were added at your table, al guesto, Avocado, onions, cilantro, jalapeños, tomatoes, lime, and chips. Lunch plates were nice sized, no complaints from our Tribe members, salsa was good, and the Coup de Gra was Deseret shared by all members, Churros were fresh and a little different with a sweet sauce in them, and deep fried ice cream, both had copious amounts of strawberries on top!! Cisco's is a great place to go with a group friends, or just one or two, for Happy Hour or on Thursday, Friday or Saturday nights. Thursdays are my favorite because I love the music, I believe it is a reggae band every week. The drinks are reasonably prices and the food is ok, but you can't beat their Happy Hour. My friend and I went a couple of Fridays ago and we ordered about 3-4 appetizers and each got a drink for less than $20 including tip. You really can't go anywhere for that price where they have an atmosphere like Cisco's. read more
