Came here for my daughters birthday. One adult two kids, small table! Our server was kind! I ordered champagne chicken and my daughter ordered lemon ravioli (very over priced for what she got). We got our food after sitting for 55 mins! On a Monday...not a busy night! Once I got my food I noticed there were onions, the entree did not have onions listed as an ingredient on the menu. I told the lady (not my server) I can't have onions and that I didn't have time to wait for another dish to be made to please just remove it from the ticket. She said "no I'll have them make another" I repeated I didn't have time as my toddler was becoming fussy. Again, she said "no, they will make another"and went to the kitchen. Now my daughter is done eating and I flag her down and repeat that I really don't have time and just need the check. She responded with "its almost done" now I'm frustrated because I have told her three times I don't want this meal because I no longer have time to eat it after sitting there for over an hour. She returns and offers to have it boxed. Ummm, no thanks! For the FOURTH time I don't want the food! I NEED TO LEAVE! I hear her finally tell the cooks that I need to go and I hear the cook start shouting about the fact I don't want the dish I never asked to be remade. At that point other tables are looking at us, super uncomfortable! Personally, I do not believe this is a kid friendly place as stated either. read more

It is difficult to find a restaurant for breakfast. They recently started serving breakfast on week days. The menu does not have dozens of options but the ones offered are unique. Had the pastrami hash. It was prepared well and plentiful. The pastrami was smoked, I assume in house since I spotted a smoker outside and was a little dry but very good flavor. A great find! We were passing through Grand Junction with no idea of where to eat. Citrola's had good reviews & was nearby. Dinner started with some yummy garlic bread. So good we had to cut ourselves off! Both dinners exceeded expectations. My Chicken Piccata included a sizable portion of chicken & lots of artichokes. I ate every bite. The Baked Ziti had a robust flavor. Very good! I had wine, which they provided a generous pour. Our server was Brody who was very attentive. We wanted for nothing. All in all an excellent meal. Hey, we're Italians from New York and we've been in the restaurant business for years. The pizza was as good as you can get out this way (unless you are eating at our house). I found the new location to be tasfully done and welcoming. Great spot if you are coming or going to the airport! The only suggestion I would make is skip the Gelato. Didn't care for it and didn't really expect it to be all that great, as it is difficult to find true, great tasting Gelato. If the owner is reading this, try Cascade Glacier Ice Cream out of Oregon. We sold it at our restaurant in Montana and it was absolutely wonderful. read more

We were pleasantly surprised as we had not visited this location since Citrola's replaced the previous owners. They have redecorated it and it is very well done. Nice private booths with nice dinner music. Sara, our waitress greeted us at the door and provided the finest of service. We ordered the eggplant and it could not have been prepared better. Thank you, Chef. As we were leaving, another couple was seated in the booth next to us and they were complimenting the waitress on the decor and the booths. Had great time at Citrolas. The food was amazing. Had a real friendly server who made the experience that much greater. Everyone I was with enjoyed their meals. Each plate also came with more than enough food. Definitely get your money's worth. Can't wait till in town again to eat there. read more

I heard that Citrolas was now opened for breakfast daily and wanted to give it a try. Was very pleased with the large variety of breakfast options on the menu. I decided on the Tuscan scramble and was very happy with the outcome. The fresh garlic was the perfect amount along with the diced tomatoes. The fresh mozzarella was the perfect addition to make this dish stand out. The scramble was served with potatoes and amazing sweet cream pancakes. I left feeling stuffed and absolutely content. I can't wait to come back and try the Benedicts! They also had a very cheerful and welcoming staff who helped make my experience very good. Will definitely be back soon!! read more

The best part of the meal was the bread. $9 for 3 meatballs that tasted meh at best. $12 for a caprese salad that was very blah and could have been consumed in 4-5 bites. Fool me once, shame on you. Ordered takeout from the I-70 around 20 minutes before we hit town. Spent the day hiking in Moab and ALL I wanted was a big fat yummy plate of spaghetti with sausage. I had to make a stop so it was 25 minutes before I got to the restaurant. Waited inside for another 13 minutes while they figured out who took my order. Finally got the food and paid $16 for a single order and would have paid more. When I got home I opened the take out container and was immediately disappointed. There was one little sausage link and a decent amount of spaghetti, but a very small amount of what was definitely canned red sauce. The spaghetti was from a box and needed way more sauce for consumption. I didn't get my big fat yummy plate of spaghetti with sausage. read more

We only come here once a year when my family comes to town, and that's only because it's right across from the hotel. Won't be back again. While the owner was sitting up front doing nothing, I was literally scraping up old food off of our table. Our waitress, although maybe a bit busy was very slow. After about four bites in she asked us if we needed to go boxes. All of our entrees needed salt, parm, anything that could add flavor. When I wanted some lemons to add flavor, the owner/manager was drinking at the bar. The only bright spot was our server from last year (you know who you are ponytail guy!) My mother had raved about this place. I was less than impressed. The food was good when we got it approximately 1 hour after ordering. Our initial waiter apparently was "too busy" so another waiter (Josh) came and introduced himself. He made a comment if we wanted the other waiter he's about an hour behind so if we wanted to wait it's up to us. After a comment like that and multiple comments about how busy the restaurant was I was not shocked that we got poor service. It took about 20 minutes for drinks. We ordered and asked for bread which came more than 40 minutes later. Our food was clearly kept under a warmer as a member of our group said "forget my salad if it's going to come out at the same time as my food". We had to flag him down for refills prior to our food arriving. Overall the service was a zero though I'm not sure if it's a management situation or just a crappy waiter. First and last time dining here. As a manager of another restaurant, I can tell you SERVICE IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!!!! There is no reason I should have to get up and walk over to another table to get my own utensils. There is no reason I should sit with an empty glass of water, pushed to the edge of the table, for 20 minutes. Same with my wine. Empty pushed to the end of the table. As a server, wouldn't you want to make sure to ask if someone would like another glass of wine to up sell your check to make more of a tip? Apparently not at this establishment. Ordered 3 appetizers, waited over 40 minutes. Server MIA for the 40+ minutes. Food was mediocre AT BEST. Definitely not worth the price! When we were done with entrees, the server asked us if we would like any boxes. We said yes. She said "how many would you like? 2?" We said yes 2 please. She brings back one??? Then comes back 10 minutes later and tries to hand us our bill. We said we'd like to order desert? And she said okay, no problem. We ordered two deserts, four of us dining, she brings the deserts out with 2 spoons. Just completely mindless. All in all this was honestly one of the WORST dining experiences I've ever had. Pretty terrible experience. We did have a large party, so benefit of the doubt, that could be why our drinks sat empty for way too long. But, an Italian restaurant that charges what this place does, better have some idea what pepper mill is. If you are willing to pay these prices, go to Il Bistro and get some decent food. Wish I could give no stars!! We waited 45 minutes for our appetizer. No one greeted us at the door. They looked at us like we were lost. No bread on the table and our table was dirty even though they cleaned it in front of us. The pizza was good but my sliders were cold the meat was terrible. Maybe our waiter was overwhelmed. We love to come here but this could be our last visit. We also finished all of our water and never got a refill. I guess you only get one container of water for the night. My wife and I had the pleasure of eating at Citrolas Italian Grill on Sat. 8/26. The menu is excellent. I had the veal parmigian. This is something I do not see very often in restaurants any more. It was delicious. It was a real veal full size cutlet; not some bland patty. Excellent marinara sauce that is worthy of any resaurant in Little Italy. Our server Josh was great. He was very attentive and helpful. If you live in Grand Junction, you are lucky to have this wonderful restaurant. If you have the occassion to be in Grand Junction, make sure you eat at Citrolas Italian Grrill. read more
