Stopped here for brunch on our way back from the mountains and weren't disappointed. I had the shrimp and grits which was mind blowing (after I scooped out all of the sour cream). My husband had the Loco Kim's chorizo burger with a side of the fried Brussels sprouts and it was amazing! Our son had the kids meal with Mac n cheese which he loved. Oh how I love Citrus! Such a happy place with all of the fruit on the walls and the sunny location. We've been 3 times and would go more often if they were open at dinner. It's usually pretty packed. The food is fresh and delicious. I always get the Whisky Gumbo and never stray from that, it's just that good. My daughter got the buffalo chicken wrap last time and was disappointed. Our breakfast was delicious. The restaurant is very coated 19 conscious no mask no entry. I had the EBLT which was so big I have food for lunch and dinner. Food was good, however, the coffee was overpriced at $4.25 a cup. Rude waitress continued to stop at our table to make snarky remarks. Definitely won't be back. When I paid my bill of $14.72 with a $20 and .72 change, Mady gave me $3 in singles. I told her she owed me $3 more singles. Mady claimed they only had one $5 bill and could not give me my $3 in change. Unreal!!! I did tip Mady an additional $1. Don't ask why. Needless to say, we will never return to Citrus. Thanks to the rude and bad behavior of the older waitress and for NOT giving me correct change. This is not a friendly or positive atmosphere. We were very disappointed! I ordered the caprese omelette with tomatoes, spinach and mozzarella. It had absolutely no flavor at all. I envisioned fresh spinach and tomatoes. Warning - Rude "Management" and Double Dipping "Tips" when you place the order on their website... Placed an order online for breakfast as we currently are remodeling our kitchen and cant cook. After placing the order I noticed that the online system was asking/collecting a Tip along with Server Gratuity Fee. I just assumed it was a glitch and would resolve it at the restaurant - no biggie. WRONG... Once I realized I was out almost $15.00 in server fees I just accepted it and wanted my food which was ready when I walked in. I saw it already packaged and already past the promised time so thought it was a COVID precaution so people aren't standing around. Well 12 min later annoyed I walk back in to find it still sitting in the same spot that it was when I left and I asked how much longer she sighed and handed it to me like it was so difficult. The description says sweet peppers, onion, and city ham. I read sweet peppers and thought it meant the small orange and yellow ones. However, they were green peppers which give me horrible indigestion so I ended up picking them out. So I ordered a Denver omelette basically. Over all pretty good besides the peppers. The English muffins was also good As for my husband's food and the grits... I think my husband said it best, "Southerners Beware!" The grits were so runny, they tasted okay but the consistency was all wrong. I didn't eat them. My husband got the Biscuits and gravy breakfast with potatoes and eggs. He added a fried chicken breast from the breakfast meats menu. My husband is not picky, but the gravy and the chicken were not good. The gravy had too much flour. The fried chicken had no flavor in the breading and was dry. Overall, not a great experience for us. We will probably stick to some of our other favorites. Bad customer service! Wanted to support local business this morning. Called at 9 am several times and no answer. My husband drove up to the diner and the sign says "open". A woman in the diner looked right at him and walked away. On a small sign it states "hours 11-2". Why couldn't she open the door and ask what he needed? There should be a message when you call that state the new hours. Also, who eats breakfast at 11 am? On the website their hours are not stated and it just says "open now". Had to go somewhere else to get breakfast. Very sad! We will not be back. Customer service is key! We tried to support them but they could have cared less during this pandemic. read more
