Rude and very disorganized. My family and I were waiting for a table after being told to sign in with their app. Once we were on the list several people were seated that were not on the list before us. After half an hour we asked and were told that they had called us only to find they had not. The manager Amy came up to us and very rudely told us that we had no choice but to wait or leave. We had seen her roll her eyes at other customers after taking their orders. We chose to leave because she was so rude and disrespectful. When we decided to leave she told the hostess to walk away and stop talking to us. We have never been treated so rudely as this Amy person treated us. We will never return to Citrus The Diner and I recommend that no one ever goes because no one should be treated the way they treat customers. read more

I hate to leave a bad review in these struggling times but ... I've eaten at Citrus for over three years and have never had a bad meal. The staff was always cheerful and very pleasant. Not sure what's going on, but today's lunch was close to inedible. I had the tuna sandwich (not melt) and the bread was easily 5 days old. I scraped off the very small amount of tuna and just ate that. Fries, which are normally great were awful as well. Citrus was recommended to us by a friend who noticed they provide Gluten Free options. We have been a few times and each time, but one they had accommodated the GF dietary request. The one time they didn't they said they were too busy and my daughter was with friends and only had a drink. Yesterday was our last visit to Citrus. We went for lunch during a non-busy time and ordered our food and were told they would not provide the Gluten Free item on the menu because they dipped the gluten free bread into the same French toast eggwash as the regular bread. We asked for just butter on the GF bread and the GF topping. The kitchen said No. We cancelled all our food ordered and paid for our outrageously expensive drinks - $13 for 3 drinks, tipped our server since she was just the messenger and left. This establishment has no business advertising Gluten Free options on their menu as my daughter stated, "the kitchen is temperamental," and seems to accommodate when they feel like it. Also, anyone with Celiac Disease cannot safely eat here as they cross contaminate with gluten items. A very disappointing, but educational experience for us. They lost a tremendous amount of potential business because the kitchen didn't feel like it. The Celiac community is large and will also be alerted. Not a good experience. read more

Just tried Citrus this morning and it didn't disappoint. The menu has a great selection to choose from. I had the corned beef hash with poached eggs, home fries (crispy), and English muffin- husband had the biscuits and gravy platter (homemade sausage gravy). The portions were generous and we are excited to go back and try more. It's owned by the same person who owns Pomodoro's- just know the food and the service (thanks Tammy) were both excellent which unfortunately we can not say the same for Pomodoro's. Food is overpriced and not that good. I ordered the meat lovers omelet and asked for cottage cheese instead of the potatoes and was told I would have to pay extra! The omelet was $10.98 and when it came it was very small. There's no way it was made with 3 eggs! My friend ordered the Wedgy Boots breakfast and said the ham was very dry and salty. She also did not want potatoes or grits and was charged extra for fruit. There are better, more reasonably priced breakfast places in this area to go to that will gladly substitute something else for potatoes at no charge. Our family of six went to Citrus the Diner because of the vast variety of menu options. A lot of us got breakfast. I had the shrimp and grits which were creamy and absolutely delicious! The staff is very knowledgeable about the gluten free options available. My son said the gluten- free toast was amazing, which is something you can't usually say about gluten-free bread. Lunch today was the only day I was able to go out to eat for Mother's Day, we decided to go to Citrus. We have eaten here multiple times and have noticed how slow the service is but still decided to try once again. We arrived a few minutes after 10 and checked in. Our wait was around 25 minutes for a table, which is fine. I'm ok with a little wait but an hour and half later we still had NO FOOD! When I ordered, I specifically ask the server to make sure I had poached easy eggs, not medium, not hard! Guess what they were medium plus! I can't seem to grasp why it took over an hour to prepare 2 breakfast plates. I work in the restaurant industry so I'm very aware off all the things that can go wrong during service and I try to account for unexpected things when I go out. When I told the server (Jordan) that we had been there over an hour and half with no food (over an hour sitting at the table) his response was excuses, " we are short people, what do u want me to do?" Really? I know from working in a restaurant that customers don't want to hear excuses, take accountability! I then ask to speak to the manager? He said he was the manager. I then said I'll reach out to the owner, he said oh he's here would u like to talk to him? I said yes please. Well the owner never came to speak to my table. For these reasons we will never be back to Citrus or Pomodoro's!! I left there and now I'm going through a drive through. How can u let customers leave after being in your establishment for 2 hours and not eat a full meal? read more

Bravo to Citrus, for an all around good job! Stopped by for breakfast this morning, everything was cooked to order and tasted great. Hats off to the staff for taking Covid to heart. Outdoor seating ONLY, tables separated, staff wearing gloves and masks, serving with all disposable biodegradable products! All around a great experience. Prices were a little pricey, but no more than the other breakfast places we have tried in the area. The ONLY comment was that the food was served in the styrofoam (take home) containers with a piece of wax paper underneath, the problem was when you cut your food, the paper (now wet from the food) shreds in to pieces, so you may encounter some in your food as you chew.. read more

We went this morning for breakfast. We went in expecting a wait. After waiting for 45 mins, we asked if they could push a table together with a booth that was open. The young man seating said sure. Then he asked the manager or owner, not sure of his role with Citrus was extremely rude. He said we couldn't do that because they have to maximize they seats. We had a party of six, so we would have had 2 empty seats. I get it, citrus is a small restaurant and they only have 1 table that can accommodate a larger party, which only had a party of 4 sitting there. If you cant accommodate a larger please tell us so we aren't wasting our time. Of course we wont be back. Thankfully because of the rudeness and frankly overpriced breakfast, we found a better place. read more

Just spent an hour to get a salad for lunch. After 20 minutes they let me know that they couldn't make a wedge. A few minutes later they offered a house salad with the burger patty I ordered on top. The salad was nothing but arugula which looked and tasted like weeds. When the bill came it was $17. I have tired this now about a have dozen times and this may be my last.
